THE VEHICLE HAD A RECALL DONE 8 MONTHS AGO AND RECENTLY THE SAME PROBLEMS OF THE RECALL SUCH AS THE GAS TANK ISSUE AND THE TRANSMISSION ISSUES ARE STILL A PROBLEM N WENT TO FORD N TOLD WHAT HAPPENED AND THEY DIDN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT BUT JUST 2 WEEKS AGO BEFORE I TOOK IT TO FORD ON A FRIDAY NIGHT I WAS DRIVING N MY CAR SHUT OFF AS I WAS ON A BUSY ROAD CARS PASSING ME BY MY CAR JUST SHUT OFF AND I PUSHED THE CAR TO THE SIDE STRESSED BECAUSE I DIDN'T HAVE MONEY FOR A TOW TRUCK AND I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WAS WRONG UNTIL SOMEONE SAID TRY PUTTING GAS IN IT AND I TOLD THEM MY TANK WAS HALF AND GAS MONITOR SAID I HAD 140 MILES TO GO BEFORE IT'S EMPTY BUT WHEN THE GAS WAS PUT IN THE CAR IT TURNED...

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FOCUS. WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE WHEN DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,000.
I JUST HAD TO BRING IN FOR SERVICE AGAIN. TRANSMISSION SHUDDERING, SLIPPING, HESITATING FROM A DEAD STOP THEN LUNGES. SOMETIMES WILL HESITATE WHEN TRYING TO PASS ON FREEWAY.
I AM BRINGING IN MY VEHICLE FOR SERVICE AS I AM STILL HAVING CLUTCH PROBLEMS. LACK OF POWER FROM STOP, CAR WON'T SHIFT AFTER 40MPH, REVS OUT AT 3K RPM.
JUST GOT ANOTHER RECALL. TRANSMISSION IS STILL HAVING SAME ISSUES, PARTICULARLY IN HIGH TEMPS. HESITATES, CLUTCH DOESN'T GRAB, STALLS EVEN WHEN FOOT IS ON THE GAS.
VEHICLE SHUDDERS WHEN I TRY TO ACCELERATE SLOWLY FROM A STOP SIGN OR MAKING A TURN ON TO A STREET. SOMETIMES SHUDDERS WHEN I AM ALREADY MOVING BUT TRYING TO SPEED UP WITH TRAFFIC SUCH AS BEING ON A HIGHWAY. ALSO WHEN IM LOW ON GAS BEFORE IT REACHES E IT COMPLETELY SHUTS DOWN. I PURCHASED A 2013 FORD FOCUS SE ON OCTOBER 2014. IMMEDIATELY NOTICED ISSUES WITH CAR SHAKING UPON ACCELERATION. FIGURED IT HAD TO DO WITH THE TORQUE I DIDN'T KNOW BETTER. WASN'T TILL I STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS STARTING CAR AND IT WAS HESITATING EVERYTIME I STOPPED AT A LIGHT. AFTER FEW MINUTES IT WOULD PICK UP SPEED WITHOUT HESITATING UNTIL I STOPPED AGAIN.( THIS CAR IS AN AUTOMATIC BUT FEELS LIKE A STANDARD.) HAD RECALLS AND REPAIRS DONE IN 2015, A WEEK AFTER THAT HAD TO TAKE CAR BACK AGAIN FOR SAME ISSUES. IT WAS REPAIRED AGAIN. HERE WE ARE SEPTEMBER 16, 2019 AND SAME ISSUES. BUT NOW DEALERSHIP IS SAYING RECALL EXPIRES 7 YRS FROM WHEN CAR WAS MADE. NOT PURCHASED. I WAS JUST A WEEK PAST THE EXPIRATION DATE. I RECENTLY RECEIVED ANOTHER SAFETY RECALL. BROUGHT IN FOR SERVICE AN ALL THEY WOULD DO IS DIAGNOSE, BUT NOT FIX COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME. I AM HAVING A CHALLENGING TIME DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY YET THEY TOLD ME IT'S OPERATING AS DESIGNED.
VEHICLE JERKS AND SHUDDERS ON ACCELERATION FROM STOPS. VEHICLE ALSO HESITATES AND LACKS POWER AT TIMES. IT ALSO OVERHEARS AND LEAKS COOLANT.

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS CONSTANTLY ON AND THE ENGINE LEAKS OIL. THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT CHANGE GEARS, SHUDDERS EXCESSIVELY AND LACKS POWER GOING UPHILL.
NEEDS ANOTHER CLUTCH REPLACEMENT AND TCM STILL SHUDDERING.
PRIOR TO INCIDENT, VEHICLE WOULD INTERMITTENTLY SHUDDER ON TAKE-OFFS. INCIDENT INVOLVED VEHICLE TRAVELING ON AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH ON THE OUTSKIRTS OF A LARGE METRO AREA WHEN ALL POWER TO WHEELS WAS LOST. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ON. ENGINE WOULD REV WHEN ACCELERATOR WAS PRESSED, BUT CAR ACTED AS IF IN NEUTRAL. CAR COASTED TO A STOP. THE CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF NEUTRAL UNTIL AFTER THE CAR SAT FOR OVER AN HOUR. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO A FORD DEALERSHIP. FORD SERVICE DEPARTMENT ADVISED THAT THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE (TCM) HAD FAILED AND A NEW TCM WAS INSTALLED AND CAR NOW WORKS MOST OF THE TIME, BUT INTERMITTENT SHUDDER ON TAKE OFF STILL OCCURS, THOUGH LESS FREQUENTLY THAN BEFORE.
TRANSMISSION SHIFTING ISSUES THAT AFFECT THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE IN USE. TRANSMISSION WILL LAG, HARD SHIFT, VEHICLE WILL GET "STUCK" WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WILL VIOLENTLY SHAKE AND SHUDDER GOING AROUND SLOW TURNS OR WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP. IN TRAFFIC, THE ACCELERATION LAG AS WELL AS SHE SHUDDERING ARE DANGEROUS. THE VEHICLES BRAKES DO NOT RESPOND AS WELL WHEN SHUDDERING. FORD INSISTS THAT ALL VEHICLE PARTS ARE OPERATING CORRECTLY. IF THAT IS THE CASE, FORD HAS DESIGNED AN INCREDIBLY UNSAFE VEHICLE.
TRANSMISSION MAKES A METAL TYPE NOISE CONSISTENTLY AND SURGES WHEN WARM. THERE IS A RANDOM CLICKING NOISE UNDER HOOD. TRANSMISSION DISENGAGES INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING.

BOLT SHEARED OFF IN THE TRANSMISSION WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY CAUSING THE CAR TO STALL OUT & BE UNABLE TO GO INTO ANY GEAR, GATES FOR THE GEARS SEEMED TO BE GONE AS SHIFTER KNOB COULD MOVE FREELY AROUND. IT DID RE-START ONCE, JUST LONG ENOUGH TO GET OFF THE HIGHWAY, THEN IMMEDIATELY STOPPED WORKING AGAIN. GOT THE BOLT REPLACED WITH A FORD BOLT, IT SHEARED OFF AGAIN WHILE DRIVING DOWNTOWN WITHIN 4 DAYS, HAD IT REPLACED AND BOLTED THROUGH A 2ND TIME, AND IT SHEARED OFF YET AGAIN WHILE MERGING ONTO THE HIGHWAY, 2 OF THE THREE TIMES THIS HAPPENED CAR WAS ABOVE 30MPH, ONE TIME I WAS ONLY GOING ABOUT 15MPH. CAR IS STILL NOT FUNCTIONAL & FORD HAS STATED THUS FAR, THEIR SUGGESTION IS REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION, WHICH SEEMS TO BE A TEMPORARY FIX, AS EVERYONE ELSE WHO I KNOW/HAVE LOOKED UP THAT'S HAD THIS DONE ONLY...

CAR HAS HAD TRANSMISSION ISSUES SINCE WE BOUGHT IS NEW. WE TOOK THE CAR IN SEVERAL TIMES FOR HESITATION, SLOW TO CATCH GEARS WHEN ACCELERATING AND STUTTERING. REPLACED SENSOR AND TOLD US TO PUSH THE GAS TO THE FLOOR AND LET IT GO THROUGH THE GEARS TO REST THE SYSTEM (DO AS NEEDED). WE FIND OUR SELVES AGAIN NEEDING TO REPLACE TRANSMISSION PARTS. NOW THEY TELL US IF IT IS NOT FIXED SOON THE CAR COULD SLIP INTO NEUTRAL ON THE HIGHWAY OR WE COULD LOOSE REVERSE. NOT SURE WHY WE ARE NOT COVERED BY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. I FEEL THAT A DEALER TELLING YOU THE CAR CAN GO INTO NEUTRAL ON THE HIGHWAY IS TELLING ME THAT THE CAR IS UNSAFE.

THIS CAR REPEATEDLY THRUSTS FORWARD AT LOWER GEARS WHILST IN TRAFFIC AND WHILE IN MOTION. IT HAS BEEN REPAIRED TWICE WITHIN A 6-MONTH TIME-FRAME FOR THE FAULTY DPS6 TRANSMISSION. THE CAPLESS GAS TANK IS ALSO PRESENTING A CONSTANT ISSUE, INVOLVING A LEAK OF SOME SORT THAT CONTINUES TO REOCCUR. I HAVE BEEN IN NUMEROUS SITUATIONS THAT COULD HAVE PROVEN TO BE FATAL AS A RESULT OF THE TRANSMISSION RESPONDING TOO LATE: AS WELL AS THRUSTING AT LOWER SPEEDS WHEN COMING OUT OF A STOP OR TRAFFIC BACK-UP. THIS ISSUES HAPPEN WHILE IN MOTION, OR WHEN MAKING AN ATTEMPT TO GO INTO MOTION.
THIS IS A CONSUMER PROTECTION ISSUE, BUT MOREOVER THIS IS SAFETY ISSUE. I NEED HELP. THIS CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW FOR MY DAUGHTER TO FINISH HIGH SCHOOL, GO TO COLLEGE, AND START HER CAREER. SO I BOUGHT AN EXTENDED WARRANTY. THE OIL HAS BEEN CHANGED EVERY 5K BY A FORD DEALER AND EVERY REPAIR SUGGESTED HAS BEEN COMPLETED. WITHIN THE FIRST TWO WEEKS, IT WAS OBVIOUS THE CAR WAS NOT SHIFTING PROPERLY, AS EXHIBITED BY SHUDDERING AND FAILED ACCELERATION. IT ALSO HESITATES TO THE POINT THAT WE COULD GET HIT PULLING INTO TRAFFIC OR TRYING TO AVOID BEING HIT. THE DEALER OFFERED MANY EXCUSES OVER THE NEXT YEAR BUT I FINALLY RECEIVED THE REMEDY... "A" NEW CLUTCH. FORD THEN CALLED ME DIRECTLY TO GIVE ME A DEAL THAT WOULD HELP ME GET INTO ANOTHER CAR. THIS WAS NOTHING MORE THAN A SALES PITCH TO BUY A FUSION, WHICH I COULDN'T...

ROYAL OAK FORD HAS SERVICED THE CAR FOR THIS SPECIFIC ISSUE 3 TIMES SINCE PURCHASE AND THE CLUTCH HAS BEEN REPLACED BUT THE ISSUE RETURNS. THE LAST SERVICE APPOINTMENT COST US $116 FOR ROYAL OAK FORD TO TELL US ITS THE SAME ISSUE AND THEY WEREN'T GOING TO COVER IT. IT WOULD COST US $1700.00 TO FIX WITH NO GUARANTEE THAT IT WOULD ACTUALLY RESOLVE THE ISSUE. WE CONTACTED FORD HEADQUARTERS AND THEIR RESPONSE WAS 'TO BAD YOUR CAR WAS BUILT AFTER 6-05-13 SO WE AREN'T RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIR'. OUR CAR WAS BUILT ON 6-19-13 WITH THE SAME FAULTY TRANSMISSION AS THE CARS BUILT RE 6-5-13. AFTER READING THE FREE PRESS ARTICLE AND CONTACTING ROYAL OAK FORD AGAIN REGARDING THE ISSUE THEY ARE GOING TO 'LOOK' AT THE CAR AGAIN ON 8-6-19. ROYAL OAK FORD COULDN'T SAY IF IT WOULD BE COVERED...
MY 2013 FORD FOCUS HAS A SHUDDERING AND OTHER KNOWN SHIFTING PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH THE DPS6 CLUTCH ISSUES. DUE TO THESE SAFETY ISSUES I AM NOT WILLING TO TRAVEL WITH MY KIDS OR WIFE IN THE CAR. I HAVE TO DRIVE THE CAR AS A DAILY DRIVER BUT THERE IS NO WAY I AM PLACING MY FAMILY IN DANGER BY DRIVING THEM IN THE CAR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FOCUS. WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP, THE VEHICLE HESITATED TO ACCELERATE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED FOUR TIMES SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SKALNEK FORD (941 S LAPEER RD, ORION CHARTER TOWNSHIP, MI 48362, (248) 693-6241) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE DEALER FAILED TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V515000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A FORD DEALER. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,000.
WE HAD HAD THIS CAR IN AT LEAST 6 TIMES FOR ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION. THE LAST VISIT WAS 2 WEEKS AGO WHEN THE CAR WOULD NOT START. THERE IS ALSO A WARNING LIGHT THAT IS CONSTANTLY ON. THEY TOLD US IT HAS TO DO WITH A SENSOR BY WHERE THE GAS IS PUT INTO THE CAR BUT THEY DON'T SEEM TO BE ABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM OR TURN OFF THE WARNING LIGHT. THE CAR STILL STUTTERS AND RUNS ROUGH AFTER MANY COMPLAINTS. MOSTLY WHEN FIRST ACCELERATING AFTER A STOP. ALSO CLUNKS WHEN TURNING.
VEHICLE HAS ONGOING ISSUES THROUGH IT'S LIFE, ALL DIAGNOSED AS TRANSMISSION RELATED. THESE INCLUDE REPLACEMENT OF THE CLUTCH 3 TIMES, UPDATES TO THE PCM AT VARIOUS TIMES. WOULD NOT GO INTO REVERSE. SIGNIFICANT SHUDDERING AND LACK OF ACCELERATION, ETC IS ONGOING - FORD CANNOT FIX. VEHICLE ONLY SLIGHTLY IMPROVES AFTER WHICH SOON RETURNS TO THE HORRIBLE SHAKING, LACK OF ACCELERATION, ETC HAVE GIVEN UP ON ATTEMPTING TO REPAIR. CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE OR RECOURSE.
HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE UNIT. ISSUES WITH TRANSMISSION SHUDDERING, TRANSMISSION SLIPPING OUT OF GEAR AND NOT APPLYING POWER WHILE IN INTERSECTIONS, ISSUES WITH THE CAR CREEPING FORWARD. HAVE HAD ISSUES FIXED MULTIPLE TIMES ONLY FOR IT TO RETURN AGAIN WITHIN A MONTH OR TWO. ALSO HAD MANY OTHER ISSUES WITH CAR. THERE ARE MULTIPLE DATES FOR TRANSMISSION ISSUES. THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN MORE, BUT I WAS TOLD THAT THEY DID ALL THEY COULD DO TO FIX THAT ISSUE EVEN THOUGH IT WAS NOT FIXED. DATES FOR TRANSMISSIONS: 6/26/2015; 8/1/2015; 6/4/2016; 12/19/2016; 7/19/2019. THE LAST TIME I TOOK IT IN (7/19/2019) I FOUND A LETTER SAYING FORD WOULD FIX IT REGARDLESS OF WARRANTY STATUS. THIS LETTER WAS INCORRECT AND THEY WANTED ABOUT $1,200 TO FIX (PUT A TEMPORARY BAND AID ON) THE SAME ISSUE I HAD BEFORE THAT REAPPEARED WITHIN A MONTH OF THEM FIXING IT.
