TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F-250 SD. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 220,000.
CRANK, NO START. NUMEROUS CODES. FICM FAILED VOLTAGE TEST, POWER BALANCE TEST. REPLACED FICM W REMANUFACTURED MODULE, ENGINE CONTROL (EEC). INSTALL CAC TUBE. REPLACE SERPENTINE BELT, ATO FUSE, CAE FUSE, AIR INLET CONNECTION AND AA CLAMP. COST $1294.68 WHY WASN'T THIS UNDER WARRANTY, SINCE SO MANY OF THESE TRUCKS NEED SAME REPAIRS? WORK DONE BY LEGACY FORD NEW OWNER OF FORD OF WALLA WALLA.. *TR
CRANK, NOT START. HIGH PRESSURE OIL SYSTEM LEAK. PUMP FITTING LEAKING AND IPR DAMAGED. REMOVED AND REPLACED HP OIL PUMP, QUICK CONNECT AND IPR. COST $1380.29 AFTER ONLY 705 MILES, MORE REPAIRS NEEDED, OF COURSE NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY AGAIN. WHY ISN'T SOMETHING BEING DONE TO FORCE FORD TO PAY FOR REPAIRS TO THIS JUNK THEY PUT TOGETHER? LOSING WATER AND OIL FROM EXHAUST, WHITE SMOKE. VEHICLE LOSING COOLANT FROM EXHAUST PIPE. HARD START. ACTS LIKE HIGH PRESSURE OIL, BLOWS LOTS OF WHITE SMOKE OUT OF EXHAUST. INSTALLED IDS/ COMPUTER AND INSTALLED COOLANT PRESSURE GAUGE IN LINE ON COOLING SYSTEM. MONITORED ECT/EOT AND COOLANT PRESSURE.. GOT VEHICLE TO NORMAL OPERATING TEMP. ECT/EOT WERE AT 15 DEGREES DIFFERENCE WHICH IS MAXIMUM ALLOWANCE FOR OIL COOLER TEMP.FORD RECOMMENDS IT BE REPLACED WHEN IT REACHES 15 DEGREE DIFFERENCE. ALSO RECOMMEND REPLACE EGR COOLER WITH OIL COOLER AS A SET. PERFORM TSB 09-08-3, TEST DEGASS BOTTLE-OK. EGR TEST ON VEHICLE PASSED, INSTALLED PRESSURE GAUGE. ROAD TEST FOR HEAD GASKETS - 21 PSI IN COOLING SYSTEM FAILED. PERFORMED TURBO OVER BOOST - TEST PASSED. FAILED ITEMS: HEAD GASKETS, OIL COOLER. CHECK GAUGE LIGHT CAME ON. TEMPERATURE GAUGE ALMOST TO TOP. TOWED FROM ONTARIO, OR., TO BAKER, OR. FOR REPAIRS. REPLACED COOLANT CAP, STILL NOT RIGHT. SAND DEGAS BOTTLE AND RETEST, STILL FAILED. REMOVE TURBO ASSEMBLY AND INTAKE. PRESSURE TEST. EGR COOLER FAILS. REPLACE EGR COOLER AND INSTALL INTAKE. DISASSEMBLE TURBO AND INSPECT. CARBONED UP. REPLACED CENTER ROTATING ASSEMBLY AND UNISON RING. REASSEMBLED AND TRIED TO START. STATIC LOCKED. REMOVED ALL GLOW PLUGS, CRANK ENGINE TO CLEAR ALL CYLINDERS AND REINSTALL GLOW PLUGS. HAD TO CLEAR CARBON FROM INTAKE AND REPLACE EGR VALVE, RUN EGR TEST AFTER FULLY WARMED UP, EGR SYSTEM PASSED. CODES PO404, P0405, P115A AND U0100. DONE UNDER WARRANTY BY GENTRY FORD. THIS DEALER GIVES VERY DETAILED REPORT, BE NICE IF THEY ALL DID. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC BUT HAD NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 160,000.

THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OVERHEATED AND PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO LET IT COOL DOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION WHERE THEY STATED THAT THE IGR VALVE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,500.
BOUGHT VEHICLE USED IN NOV,2011. ABOUT 4 MONTHS LATER STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH ENGINE POWER. WAS TOLD BY FORD DEALERSHIP THAT I BOUGHT IT FROM WOULD NEED TO REBUILD ENGINE, SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY (INVOLVED EGR, GASKETS AND BENT HEAD BOLTS). CALL FORD EXTENDED WARRANTY PEOPLE. REFUSED TO PAY ANYTHING. NOW TRUCK HAS ABOUT 96000 MILES ON IT AND THE TRUCK IS STALLING OUT WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, TOOK BACK TO DEALERSHIP AGAIN, WAS TOLD THAT THE INJECTORS ARE THE PROBLEM NOW. DECIDED TO CHECK OUT RECALLS ON THIS VEH. AND FOUND OUT SEVERAL THINGS (1) THAT FORD HAD A RECALL FOR THE INJECTORS AND (2) THAT THE PROBLEMS BEFORE WERE PROBABLY CAUSED BY THIS. CALLED THE RECALL CENTER AT FORD AND WAS TOLD THAT VIN # DID NOT MATCH UP TO ANY RECALLS, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS ON 180000 05 FORD F250 SD. WAS ALSO TOLD...
IT TOOK SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE I COULD CRANK MY TRUCK AND ONCE IT WAS STARTED IT SMOKED BADLY BUT DID EVENTUALLY CLEAR UP. IT SPIT AND SPUTTERED ON THE WAY TO WORK SO I DROPPED IT OFF AT THE MECHANICS SHOP. THE MECHANIC INSPECTED IT AND THE FUEL INJECTOR MODULE WAS BAD. I RESEARCHED THE RECALL LIST AND CALLED THE FORD DEALERSHIP IN MOBILE, AL BASED ON THE RECALL LIST TO HAVE THE PROBLEM REPAIRED; GAVE THEM MY VIN AND WAS TOLD THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS. THE DEALERSHIP OFFERED TO REPAIR THE MODULE FOR $900.00 HOWEVER THE NHTSA ID # 05V270000 SAYS THERE IS A RECALL CONCERNING THIS ISSUE. *TR
