The contact owned a 2007 Ford F-150. The contact stated that when depressing the accelerator pedal while in reverse, the vehicle suddenly accelerated, crossing a field, and crashing into a nearby building, where the vehicle came to a stop. The contact sustained neck injuries, and the front passenger sustained neck injuries as well. The contact did not seek medical attention; however, they intended to do so in the future. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed. The rear end of the vehicle was damaged. The vehicle was driven home. The vehicle was taken to Collision Center who diagnosed that the rear of the vehicle needed extensive bodywork and determined the vehicle was totaled. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 300,000. The VIN was not available.
Transmission and rear end jerking when putting in or taking out of park, reverse or drive and now doesn't want to go forward when putting it in drive and I can't get it to shift out and transmission fault light came on and I re set it by taking black cable off battery and put transmission fluid in it and it still does it and also headlights doesn't work on bright and power steering pump makes noise and it's full of fluid I don't know if it is leaking or what small stuff I can deal with but major transmission and engine stuff on truck I can't.

TRANSMISSION COOLING LINE GOING THROUGH RADIATOR FAILED CAUSING COOLANT TO MIX WITH TRANSMISSION FLUID. RESULTING IN TRANSMISSION FAILURE. TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE ENTIRELY REBUILT AND RADIATOR ALSO HAD TO BE REPLACED. THIS OCCURRED AT HIGHWAY SPEED.
EVERY VEHICLE THAT FORD PUT OUT WITH A CAM PHASER IS EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH THE CAN PHASER. ANY SAE CERTIFIED MECHANIC WILL VERIFY THIS. THIS IS A HORRIBLE DESIGN. WHY HASN'T FORD STEPPED UP TO THE PLATE AND FIXED THIS ISSUE? I BELIEVE THEY ARE TRYING TO BURY IT SO THAT THEY DON'T HAVE TO INCUR THE COST OF FIXING THEIR MISTAKE. A COMPUTE READ ON THE OBD2 STAYED THAT I HAD MISSES IN IGNITION COILS 1,3 AND 7 REPLACED THEM THEN THE TEACHING STAYED MISFIRED IS 2,4 AND 5 REPLACED THEM AND ALL THE SAME ISSUES... EVERY MECHANIC I'VE SPOKEN TO SAYS ABSOLUTEY THE...
TRANSMISSION SLIPPING IN REVERSE.IT THROWS UP THE CODE PO720, WHICH IS THE OUTPUT SHAFT SPEED SENSOR. THE VEHICLE IS INCAPABLE OF TOWING ANYTHING. THIS IS AN ISSUE FOR THIS SPECIFIC TRANSMISSION DATED ALL THE WAY BACK TO 2002.WE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE LESS THAN A YEAR AGO.
FIRST THE TRANS WENT OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF NO WHERE AT 1130 AT NIGHT WITH MY NEWBORN. THEN THE ENGINE WENT AS I WAS DRIVING TO WORK. WE FOUND OUT IT WAS THE CAM PHASERS WHICH WE HAD TO REPLACE THE ENGINE FOR. WE HAVE DONE $8000 IN REPAIRS AND IT'S NOT RECALLED??

DRIVING AND STARTED TO SHAKE, HAS NASTY RATTLE (DEATH RATTLE) THREW CODE P0355. FIXED THE CODE BY INSTALLING NEW WIRES $500.00. FIXED FOR 2 WEEKS THEN STARTED DOING IT AGAIN AND CODE P0355 CAME UP AGAIN. HAS LACK OF POWER AND SHAKES BAD. VERY MUCH A HAZARD TO DRIVE.

THE SPARK PLUGS AN INJECTORS WERE REPLACED, AND AN OIL PRESSURE TEST WAS PROVIDED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE ENGINE MISFIRED AND WAS DIAGNOSED BY MCLARTY FORD (3232 SUMMERHILL RD, TEXARKANA, TX 75503, (903) 792-7121). THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MECHANIC REBUILT THE TRANSMISSION AND THE STARTER WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT ISSUED A RECALL, BUT ISSUED EIGHT TSBS FOR THE ENGINE. THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED NO SOLUTION OTHER THAN HAVING THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. I WAS STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN I GAVE THE TRUCK SOME GAS AND IT STARTED MAKING NOISE AND ACTED AS IF SOMETHING WAS ABOUT READY TO FLY APART AND SEVERLY VIBRATING. I HAD TO STOP AS QUICK AS POSSIBLE WITH CARS BEHIND ME SWERVING TO GET AROUND ME. I HAD TO CALL A TOW SERVICE TO GET MY TRUCK HOME, AFTER INSPECTION OF THE DRIVESHAFT I FOUND THAT THE CARRIER BEARING HAD SLIP OUT OF IT'S HOUSING AND THE DRIVESHAFT WAS BOUNCING AROUND IN THE BEARING BRACKET. I COULD NOT LOCATE A CARRIER BEARING ANYWHERE SO I CALLED THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD I WOULD HAVE TO BUY AND REPLACE THE ENTIRE DRIVESHAFT. I DID SOME SEARCHES ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES. IF YOU INSPECT THE DRIVESHAFTS NOW BEING SOLD FOR REPLACEMENTS YOU WILL FIND THAT THERE...
O/D OFF LIGHT , TRANSMISSION FAULT ON INFORMATION DISPLAY INTERMITTENT LIGHT AND TONE! TRUCK WOULD NOT START, PCM FAILURE $3500 DOLLARS IN REPAIR, AT FORD DEALER STILL NOT FIXED!
PUT TRUCK IN REVERSE, IT SPED UP AND BRAKES DID NOT WORK. STOPPED BY BACKING INTO A TREE, THEN DROVE FINE. THREE DAYS LATER CAME TO AN INTERSECTION AND WAS UNABLE TO STOP. HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE IN THE INTERSECTION.
WHILE DRIVING AT SPEEDS OF 5 TO 15MPH WHEN THE BRAKE IS ENGAGED THE TRUCKS ENGINE WILL REV AND PULL THE TRUCK FORWARD. THE ONLY WAY TO STOP IS TO PUT IT IN N AND PUMP THE BRAKES, THIS WILL STOP THE ACCELERATION.
FORD 150 PICK UP TRUCK REGULARLY MAINTAINED WITH 70,836 MILES WAS TRAVEL ON CITY STREETS AT SPEED LIMITS WHEN A "POPPING" SOUND WAS HEARD AND TRUCK WOULD NOT TRAVEL OVER 25MPH. NO CABIN LIGHTS, NO INDICATION OF PROBLEM. IMMEDIATELY TOOK TO AUTOMOTIVE CENTER, FOUND NO ERROR OR TROUBLE CODES ON DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT AND ALL FLUID LEVELS WERE FULL AND CLEAN. AUTOMOTIVE CENTER DISCOVERED FAILED TRANSMISSION WITH PIECES OF METAL IN TRANSMISSION COOLER AND LINES DURING TRANSMISSION FLUSH USING FACTORY RECOMMENDED SOLUTION. FACTORY DEFECT OF TRANSMISSION, ENGINEERING DEFECT FOR LACK OF CABIN WARNING LIGHTS AND MAINTENANCE DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT.
THE FAILURES STEM FROM BAD OIL FLOW TO THE TOP END OF THE ENGINE DUE TO A FLAW IN DESIGN. SPECIFICALLY MY CAMSHAFT, CAM PHASER, TIMING COMPONENTS AND LIFTERS ROLLERS HAVE FAILED. THE PROBLEM FIRST SHOWED UP AT 42256 MILES AND HAS SINCE RESURFACED TWICE EVEN AFTER EXPENSIVE REPAIRS. THE WORRISOME PART IS THAT THE WEB IS FILLED WITH THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ENGINE WHICH IS ALSO IN EXPEDITIONS AND CROWN VICTORIAS AND PROBABLY OTHER FORD VEHICLES.
BOUGHT THE T07 F150 AT 28K AND AT 61K THIS HAPPENED. WHILE DRIVING AT LOW GEAR 2ND THE ENGING CHUGGED A LITTLE ( LKE AN OLD DIESAL) TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THEY SAID IT WAS PROBABLY THE SMALL OIL SEAL BEHIND THE CAM. THEY WAS GOING TO CHARGE BE 5600 FOR A NEW ENGINE. THEY TRIED LIKE HE11 TO GET ME TO SAY I DIDNT HAVE THE OIL CHANGED REGULARLY. I NEVER BACKED DOWN, THEN REMINDED THEM THAT I HAD BOUGHT THE $2700.00 EXTENDED WARRENTY (WHICH I USUALLY NEVER DID) THEY BAUKED AND CRIED. BUY SAID THAT THEY WOULD FIND ANOTHER USED ENGINE, THEY CALLED ME AND SAID THAT THEY FOUND ONE FOR 3500 (OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT) I BEGAN A LONG SEARCH ONLINE AND FOUND A REBUILD FOR LESS AND GAVE THEM THE INFORMATION. WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT 75MPH A WARNING LIGHT CAME ON SAYING TRANSMISSION FAULT. THE OVERDRIVE LIGHT WAS FLASHING. GEAR SLIPPED OUT OF PARK AS I WAS EXITING VEHICLE. I HAD NOT YET CLOSED THE DOOR AND THE TRUCK BEGAN TO MOVE DOWN THE DRIVEWAY. NOTICED LEAKAGE UNDER FRONT LEFT TIRE. ALL TRANSMISSION FLUID HAD LEAKED OUT. TRANSMISSION OIL LINE RUSTED THROUGH. HAD PREVIOUS LEAKAGE WHICH I REPAIRED WITH A PIECE OF HIGH PRESSURE LINE. CHECKED METAL LINES OF TRANSMISSION OIL COOLING SYSTEM AND FOUND NUMEROUS AREAS RUSTED OUT AND READY TO BURST. HAD TRUCK TOWED TO DEALER TO REPLACE COOLING SYSTEM LINES. WAS TOLD CORROSION IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE LINES ON F150. CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY IF THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM FORD DOES NOT NOTIFY OWNERS ABOUT POSSIBLE PREVENTIVE ACTION TO DEAL WITH THE CORROSION OR USE NON-CORROSION MATERIALS FOR PRESSURE LINES. *TR

I HAVE A 2007 F150 SUPERCREW CAB TRUCK. I WAS DRIVING DOWN A PARKING LOT WHEN THE TRUCK MADE A HUGE GRINDING SOUND FROM THE TRANSMISSION. I THEN RECEIVED A TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTION WARNING LIGHT. THE TRUCK SLAMMED INTO A STOP CAUSING DRIVER AND PASSENGER TO BE TOSSED FORWARD. I HAVE READ ONLINE OF SEVERAL OTHERS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH THE 2007 F150 TRANSMISSIONS. ONE DID NOT BREAK COMPLETELY OFF (#4) AND I NEEDED TO BORROW A PROTOTYPE TOOL FROM LISLE TOOL CORP. REMOVED AND REPLACED PLUGS FOLLOWING FORD PROCEDURES. TRUCK STILL HAD A MISS. REPLACED ALL EIGHT COIL PACKS WHICH FIXED THE PROBLEM. TOTAL COST$380.00. TRUCK DOWN FOR 6 DAYS AWAITING TOOLS AND PARTS. DEVELOPED A VIBRATION AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. ORIGINAL TIRES(PIRELLI) WERE SEPARATING. REPLACED TIRES(976.00), MUCH BETTER. STILL HAVE SLIGHT VIBRATION AT HIGHWAY SPEEEDS. FOUND LEFT FRONT HUB BEARING SEEPING GREASE AND FEELS STIFF. I WAS ACCELERATING FROM A STOP AND VEHICLE SHUT OFF. I AM 8MTHS PREGNANT AND WAS STUCK ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD FOR OVER A 1/2 HOUR IN -45 DEGREE WEATHER WAITING FOR TOW TRUCK, BECAUSE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. MECHANIC LOOKED AT VEHICLE AND FOUND #9 FUSE FOR FUEL PUMP BLOWN. FUSE REPLACED, AND VEHICLE RAN FOR 30SECONDS AND ELECTRICAL PLUG TO DRIVER CONTROL MODULE BEGAN TO SMOKE AND MELT. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH THE VEHICLE BEGIN TO STALL AND SHAKE. THE CONTACT PULLED ONTO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. EASILY A CHILD CAN MOVE THE VEHICLE INTO GEAR AND START IT ROLLING OR BRING IT TO A DEAD STOP WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY BY JUST BUMPING INTO IT. I CONTACTED FORD AND THEY WERE UNWILLING TO HELP WITH THIS OBVIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. WHICH WILL NOW COST ME OVER $800.00 TO FIX. THIS AMOUNT SEEMS EXCESSIVE AND I FEAR WILL KEEP MANY PEOPLE WHO EXPERIENCE THIS DANGEROUS PROBLEM FROM FIXING IT BECAUSE THE VEHICLE OTHERWISE PERFORMS FINE. WHILE DRIVING AT A 15 MPH (1000 RPMS) TRUCK WOULD KNOCK AND TRY TO STALL WHEN COMING TO A STOP AND ALMOST CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.
