I brought a Ford Ecosport S from Auction Direct on or about February 7, 2024, Raleigh NC. In the mist of purchasing, they informed me there is a recall on this vehicle. I've since then been trying to get my vehicle fix. It's started to make noise and rub and I don't want the problem to get worst. I have brought the part through Capital Ford, Raleigh NC, but they said I need the recall letter in order for them to fix it. Please can you help me out by sending this letter? EcoSport. Lease [XXX]. Car broke down at 6900 miles [XXX], was fixed and broke down again at 10,300 miles ([XXX]-towed to North Brothers Ford. same problem. (oil pump and engine issues). Apparently a fix won't be available until 2nd quarter in 2024, probably looking at June. I've been told that I cannot be given a loaner until the car is torn down and checked out. The contact owns a 2021 Ford EcoSport. The contact stated while driving 55 MPH, the low oil pressure warning light illuminated. The contact veered to the side of the road and contacted her son. The contact's son inspected the oil pump and oil filter but could not determine the cause of the failure. The contact then drove to the residence; however, while attempting to pull into the driveway, the power steering and the brakes failed to function as needed. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed, and the dealer determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer advised the contact to repair the vehicle at her own expense, and she might be reimbursed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 87,000.

The engine of my Ford 2021 Ecosport seized at 73k miles while driving - accelerating from a stoplight. The dealership has diagnosed it as a cracked cylinder head and quoted $8,000 to fix. The dealership had taken no responsibility for faulty parts/design. These engines are not safe and should not be on the road. Fors has since issued a recall for the oil pump, but the damage to my vehicle has already been done.

Engine failure -- on 12/2/23 while driving the vehicle it shut off less than 2 minutes after I heard what sounded like a belt breakage on the car. The car would not start again. My safety was put at risk because I was driving on a busy street and the speed limit was 50mph. 1 day prior, the car slowed to about 40 mph or less after the engine light came on Then the wrench icon came on. I could not drive on the highway so I took the side streets to and from work. I started getting oil pressure warnings about 2 weeks prior but I just had my oil change done in October 2023. I did not know that I was getting warning messages until I looked at the FordPass app on 12/2/23 and saw several messages starting from 10/6/23 at 9:15am. The first message states " powertrain...

While driving on the highway a “Low Engine Oil Pressure” came up on the screen repeatedly. We immediately pulled off the highway before the vehicle started becoming jerky/shaky while running. We attempted to add oil thinking that might be issue but when we went to run the car again it became harder to start up. The car was towed to a nearby mechanic shop where the diagnostic assessment came back saying that the oil pump is broken. The vehicle could not be repaired at their shop at needed to be re-towed specifically to a Ford dealership. The representative did tell us that this issue has been popping up more and more with ford ecosports. Had we continued to run the car any longer could have resulted in serious damage and ultimately failure of the engine, which could have had severe consequence such as losing control and crashing. Prior to the...

A low engine oil pressure notification popped up on my screen while driving on the interstate and then my car slowly stopped letting me accelerate over 65 mph. I had to get to the nearest exist because the car felt as if it was losing power. The car is now at a dealership waiting to be checked out. Nothing showed before this message and it came suddenly on Tuesday 12.12.23

Check engine light came on at 24k miles. Alert on Ford Pass app said the engine wasn't heating up to operating temperature fast enough. Had a second Alert come up the next time I drove the car saying there was an electrical issue in the vehicle causing anti lock breaks and other important driver assistance features to not work including traction control.

Several times now my engine has shut off while driving and in the middle of coming to a stop. Luckily my breaks still worked with the vehicle shut down. I'd have to put in park and manually restart the vehicle to continue driving. This is something that puts myself and others on the road at risk.

I was driving my Ecosport when suddenly we heard a ding and a warning came on stating “low engine oil pressure”. We pulled over immediately, was advised by our dealer to not drive it. Our vehicle was towed to a dealership as we were out of state and got a call two days after stating our engine needed to be replaced due to something with the oil. I was never given an exact reason what happened to the engine to cause needing a new one. This occurred at 66,000 (roughly) miles. We have an extended warranty however are fighting to have this issue covered.

The contact owns a 2021 Ford EcoSport. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power. The vehicle failed to accelerate above 65 MPH. The check engine warning light and wrench symbol warning were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the hose and gasket on the turbocharger needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the local dealer but was not diagnosed because there was a hole in the engine. The vehicle was not repaired. While driving, the no oil pressure message was displayed. There was oil on the highway. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who stated that the failure was due to the engine and oil pressure. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 58,000.

Got in the car to leave work and after driving for 5 minutes the car stalled and showed the oil and check engine light. Took the car to the dealer and was told code P0012 and P0014 were present with metal contamination in oil. This car has been maintained well at the dealer every step of the way since we purchased it. Dealer claims the entire engine needs to be replaced due to a failed oil pump causing bearing failure. This is at 75,000 Miles. Fords standard warranty is 36,000 miles, now I guess we all know why. There is no solution to this other than to RECALL these engines and fix what Ford knew they weren't ready to produce by rushing to put these cars together with faulty products. Seems like they are building cars to last every couple of years, a similar issue happened with our 2017 Escape.

The contact owns a 2021 Ford Ecosport. The contact stated that while driving at 55 MPH, the low-pressure oil message appeared on the instrument panel. The contact pulled the vehicle off to the shoulder of the highway and had the vehicle towed to the dealer. Once at the dealer, a diagnostic test was performed and showed that the oil pump and the oil pump belt had malfunctioned, which resulted in engine damage. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 60,539.

My vehicle has the 4 cylinder (non eco boost) engine. It started having an emissions system fault which has been causing exhaust and fuel fumes to not only be very strong under the hood, but has become very strong inside the cab when the climate control is on. Since this started, my wife and I have been experiencing headaches, extreme lethargy, nausea and agitation that typicality resolves after leaving the windows down or completely leaving the vehicle altogether. Filling the fuel tank causes the vehicle to barely start and fumes become overbearingly noticeable directly after.
