2021 FORD ECOSPORT Unknown Or Other Problems

I bought a new 2021 Ford ecosport with several recalls. I've reported previous one on the recall list. However the following two are not on recall list. First, the back up camera is malfunctioning. It turns black when reversing. Secondly, within a week of purchasing brand new the vehicle had loose rail covering on top of vehicle. Not sure of the proper name. It fell off on highway SH 99. I had to pull over on shoulder lane and pickup the long black strip or rail from road. Only one strip malfunctioned. It could have caused an accident and hit car behind me as length of strip was one car size. I did not know what to do as I've never own a recall vehicle ever. Rubber Door Sealant issues

The infotainment system, shows ford logo, and back up camera but radio will no longer pop up. The back up camera stays displayed at times. This recall aligns with the recall through NHTSA # 25V442 and fords recall number of 25S72. My vin was not included but is experiencing the same issue as stated in the recall.

The affected component is the oil pump drive belt and belt tensioner. This defect can cause loss of oil pressure and engine failure. Parts for the official recall remedy have not been made available by Ford or its dealers. My vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Safety Risk: This failure poses a serious safety risk. Loss of oil pressure or engine seizure can occur suddenly, causing the vehicle to stall while driving. This results in loss of motive power and potentially reduced braking assistance, placing myself, passengers, and other motorists at risk of a crash. Confirmation by Dealer/Service Center: The dealer confirmed the recall but stated that the parts remain unavailable and no final remedy is being offered at this time. Interim remedies are inadequate, leaving me to continue driving an unsafe vehicle.

Recall is for 25S12 FRONT HALF SHAFT INSPECTION red McCombs completed and passed on June 23 2025 a week later the shaft had been bent Ford is denying paying for the recall because it was initially passed. There has been a recall open on this vehicle for over a year and I have been unable to do business with it due to safety requirements.

Was driving the vehicle going approximately 35-40 miles per hour. Lost all power to the vehicle, no ability to steer or control the vehicle. Once vehicle stopped and after additional inspection at the Ford dealership was informed vehicle had experienced engine failure. First was told it occurred under current belt recall, later told engine failure occurred because of coolant leaking into oil. I was told it is a know problem and recall issue for Ford Escapes and other models with same EcoBoot engines, but that for the EcoSport it has not been recognized as a problem by Ford. Was told that I would need to pay $8816.38 to replace engine. The vehicle had approximately 9600 miles at time of engine failure. Exiting interstate 55 and auto stop shut car off. This has happened about 3 times. Once at a red-light. Another one I dont remember. Last was exit ramp. Scary bc of traffic behind me. Coasted car to side of road. Seems to be an issue as I'm slowing speed or stopped. Have to shut car off and restart. Not SAFE.

I received a letter in the mail a year ago 2024-01-08 concerning a recall on my 2021 ford ecosport. The recall involves the oil pump drive belt or drive belt tensioner which may fail, resulting in a loss of engine oil pressure and as a result it may lead to a loss of oil pressure can result in an engine stall and a loss of power braking assist, increasing the risk of a crash. I am concerned for the safety of myself as well as others . The parts won’t be available till the first quarter of 2025 my car has already started leaking oil and I am terrified . This is unacceptable I have to wait almost a whole year before parts can become available. Something needs to be done this is a huge safety concern.

Campaign/NHTSA# 23S64/23V905 - has been opened since January 4, 2024 - It has led me to lose income wages because the company I work for will not let me use this vehicle. It has been 5 months and there is still not a fix!

On several occasions I've experienced delays with transmission shifting internally while in drive. (Had a few powertrain failure codes pop up, was told by shop that it will happen when all 4 wheels try to grip and can't at same time- independence ford). Have code dates in my ford app - and on 12/14/22 it happened again, this time accompanied by heater and blower motor cutting in and out, lights for heater, blower were strobing. (I have video of this issue, it won't upload) the defroster turned on when I powered off the heat and powered on. Ford shop notified and shown video, was told they couldn't replicate it. Had a few more occasions where transmission slipped w powertrain notification again, still unable to replicate per ford shop, despite codes. In July, 23 son had accident w car and delays were noted to guy at ford shop quick lane... codes...

It was flashing lights reving up and down was not drivable car was not driving safely and sounded very bad

Engine making rumbling noise and losing oil pressure, shop at dealership said the car was not drivable, and to leave at shop, however they didn’t offer a loaner car to drive, need to work and can’t afford a rental until these repairs are made

EcoSport. Lease [XXX]. Car broke down at 6900 miles [XXX], was fixed and broke down again at 10,300 miles ([XXX]-towed to North Brothers Ford. same problem. (oil pump and engine issues). Apparently a fix won't be available until 2nd quarter in 2024, probably looking at June. I've been told that I cannot be given a loaner until the car is torn down and checked out. The car has more than once accelerated on its own without any cruise control or pressing of the gas pedal. Usually just a short burst in low speed areas like parking lots. The engine almost retroactively overreacts to a light tap on the gas pedal. So far have caught it every time and been able to hit the brakes but figured should at least let it be known

While driving I have experienced an issue 3 times since buying my vehicle in April 2021. The issue pertains the vehicle shutting down while in motion and following a message on the screen stating to put the vehicle in "park" and restart the vehicle. I am afraid this will happen while i am in the highway which can lead to a crash or fatality.
