My truck went into anti-theft mode for no apparent reason and stranded me on a hot day in a parking lot. The engine would not run for more than 2 seconds.
The air bag light is on and it has a recall the lights behind the gages went out and the engine has a knock at times
The contact owns a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would not accelerate when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The contact also stated that the vehicle would not reverse whenever the pedal was depressed. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with the transmission needing to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 232,575.

WHILE I WAS DRIVING 60 MILES AN HOUR DOWN 29 SOUTH, THE VEHICLE JUST SHUT OFF, NO POWER STEERING, NO ABS BRAKES, AFTER IT CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP, PUT IT IN PARK, I TURNED THE IGNITION OFF, THEN TURNED THE IGNITION ON AND IT STARTED UP AN DROVE.
SOMETIMES WHEN YOU STOP AT A RED LIGHT OR STOP SIGN AND THEN TRY TO GO THE TRUCK DIES ESPECIALLY AFTER GETTING GAS AND SOMETIMES HAPPENS WHEN TURNING TO THE RIGHT. WE HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DODGE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES FOR THIS PROBLEM BUT THEY HAVEN'T FIXED IT. WE HAVE A LIFETIME WARRANTY BUT THEY HAVEN'T FIXED IT. THE DATE AT THE BOTTOM IS THE LAST TIME IT HAPPENED BUT IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR A FEW YEARS AND THE DEALERSHIP IN TYLER, TEXAS HAS NOT FIXED IT.
MOTOR STARTED MAKING A KNOCKING NOISE AFTER GETTING GAS AND SOUNDS HAS BROKE IN MOTOR AND IS MAKING A TAPPING NOISE BAD
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE RAM 1500. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED BRIEFLY, AN INTERNAL FIRE OCCURRED. THE AIR CONDITIONING LINE TO THE COMPRESSOR HAD A HOLE IN THE RUBBER AND MELTED DUE TO THE FIRE. THE CONTACT LOOKED UNDER THE HOOD AND NOTICED THAT THE WIRING, AIR CONDITIONING LINE, HOSES, AND OTHER COMPONENTS BEHIND THE ALTERNATOR ASSEMBLY WERE DAMAGED. THE DEALER (GOLLING CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM, 2405 S TELEGRAPH RD, BLOOMFIELD HILLS, MI 48302, (248) 334-3600) WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE NOT AVAILABLE.
TYPICAL BOLTS SHEARED OFF INSIDE THE BLOCK AND AN EXHAUST MANIFOLD LEAK CAUSING A TICK. THIS THE 2ND DODGE RAM THAT I HAVE OWNED. BOTH HAVE HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM (MY PREVIOUS TRUCK HAD I TWICE(!) WHILE I OWNED IT). IF YOU LOOK AT ANY NUMBER OF ONLINE FORUMS YOU WILL SEE THAT I AM ABOUT THE MILLIONTH PERSON THAT HAS HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM HAPPEN. LITERALLY EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THESE HAS THIS PROBLEM. APPARENTLY DODGE HAS RELEASED A STATEMENT (THOUGH I CAN NOT CONFIRM) STATING THAT THE COMBINATION AT THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD OF CAST IRON, ALUMINUM, AND WEAK BOLTS MAKES THIS HAPPEN OVER & OVER AGAIN. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL AND DODGE SHOULD HAVE TO FIX THIS.

THE CONTACT CALLED PORT JEFF CHRYSLER, JEEP,DODGE, RAM IN PORT JEFFERSON STATION, NEW YORK AND WAS ADVISED TO TAKE THE ADDITIONAL KEYS OFF OF THE KEY RING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 160,000.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN HILL, ENGINE STARTED MAKING UNUSUAL LOUD NOISES AND VIBRATION. COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER AND ENGINE OIL WAS SPILLING. MECHANIC SAID PISTON ROD BROKE.
TSB# 18-003-08, I HAVE HAD THIS OIL SENDING UNIT REPLACED 2 TIMES WITHIN ONE YEAR AND DODGE HAS A TSB OUT THERE TO FIX IT. ALTHOUGH MY WARRANTY IS OUT OF DATE THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. WHEN THE SWITCH STARTS TO FAIL THE UNIT SENDS A MESSAGE TO THE ON BOARD COMPUTER TO TURN ON THE CHECK GAUGES LIGHT AND REDUCES THE RPMS AND STALLS OUT THE VEHICLE. DODGE HAS A TSB TO ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM BUT REFUSES TO DO IT WITHOUT CHARGING. DODGE KNEW THIS ISSUE WELL BEFORE THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY BUT DID NOT NOTIFY THE OWNERS TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE. IT HAS NOW BECOME A SAFETY ISSUE WITH MY TRUCK AND NEARLY CAUSING 2 CRASHES. I HAVE ASKED DODGE VIA CHAT TO APPROVE THE UPDATE TO MY ON BOARD COMPUTER TSB# 18-003-18 AND THEY REFUSE. DRIVING VEHICLE AT 55 MPH ON EXPRESSWAY APPLIED THE BRAKE AND THE TRUCK STALLS. IT ALSO WILL STALL AT STOP SIGNS AND RED LIGHTS NO CODES COME UP AND TRUCK RESTARTS. LETTING OFF THE BRAKE PEDAL THE TRUCK WILL AVOID STALL VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE 7 DAYS AGO. I HAVE DISCOVERED A DANGEROUS ISSUE THAT ONLY PRESENTS ITSELF IMMEDIATELY AFTER REFUELING. THE THIRD TIME I WAS TURNING ONTO A SHARP ON RAMP TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC. THANKFULLY IT DIED AT THE BOTTOM OF THE RAMP AND NOT AT THE TOP WHERE I WOULD HAVE BEEN IN TRAFFIC. MY ABS AND BRAKE LIGHT BLINKS ON AND OFF ALL THE TIME AND DINGS. WHEN I ROLL MY WINDOWS UP SOMETIMES IT TURNS MY RADIO ON AND OFF.
