I HAVE HAD MY DART FOR ALMOST 2 1/2 YEARS AND IT HAS BEEN A PROBLEM FROM THE START. I HAVE HAD MY TCM REPLACED, TRANSMISSION, 2 CLUTCHES, NUMEROUS CODES AND SPEAKERS, GAS CAP, AND MULTIPLE RECALLS. IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP OVER A DOZEN TIMES AND FOR OVER 30 DAYS. I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS THE ENTIRE TIME I HAVE OWNED THE CAR AND AM CURRENTLY IN MY SECOND TIME OF DEALING WITH CHRYSLER TO BUY BACK MY VEHICLE AND THEY STILL ARE NOT DOING A THING ABOUT IT. WITH THE VEHICLE NOT SHIFTING RIGHT AND LOSING POWER AND NOW MY DEFROSTER IS GOING OUT ALSO THE RECALLS ON IT BUT THEY HAVE NO FIX FOR I REFUSE TO LET MY NEWBORN SON BE IN MY VEHICLE AND CHRYSLER DEFINITELY KNOWS ABOUT IT YET WONT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT EVEN THO IT IS A LEMON.

CLUTCH PEDAL DOES NOT RETURN FROM DEPRESSED POSITION. CLUTCH PEDAL IS SOFT AND CLUTCH MECHANISM DOES NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY FOR A FEW MINUTES OF INITIAL OPERATION. AFTER THE INITIAL INCIDENT THIS PROBLEM HAS BECOME MORE FREQUENT AND NOW OCCURS ALMOST DAILY.

MY VEHICLE IS COMPLETELY UNRELIABLE. ANY TIME THE SPEED REACHES 40 MPH OR MORE IT GIVES A TRANSMISSION SERVICE MESSAGE AND SHUTS OFF. ADDITIONALLY IF IT IS IDLE FOR ANY LENGTH OF TIME (AS IN A DRIVE-THRU) IT WILL SHUT OFF THEN AS WELL. THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL ON THIS CAR BUT THE PARTS ARE NOT EVEN AVAILABLE. I HAVE A PIECE OF JUNK IN MY DRIVEWAY THAT I AM CURRENTLY MAKING PAYMENTS ON AS WELL AS FULL COVERAGE INSURANCE. VERY FED-UP AND DISAPPOINTED THAT I HAVE NO LEAGLE RECOURSE!!! I AM JUST EXPECTED TO CONTINUE TO PAY FOR AN UNDRIVEABLE CAR.
CAME UP TO A STOP SIGN, DROVE OFF AND WENT TO SHIFT INTO 2ND (STANDARD TRANSMISSION) AND MY SHIFTER WAS LOOSE. GEAR IS STUCK IN FIRST.

I GOT A RECALL LETTER FOR THE TCM (THAT WAS A MONTH AGO.) HAVE HAD MY CAR IN THREE TIMES BECAUSE IT WOULDN'T START SINCE I GOT THE LETTER . HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TWO OF THE THREE TIMES. I HAVE A 2013 DODGE DART. AFTER 2 YEARS, THE CLUTCH SUDDENLY STUCK TO THE FLOOR, THE VEHICLE INOPERABLE; IT NEEDED A NEW MASTER CYLINDER. A FEW MONTHS LATER, I STARTED NOTICING IT STICKING AGAIN, BUT IT COULD BE PULLED OUT BY USING MY FOOT TO POP IT BACK OUT. SO I PROMPTLY TOOK IT TO THE DEALER. THEY SAID EVERYTHING WAS NORMAL. LAST MONTH, THE CLUTCH WENT OUT AGAIN. HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALER. NOW IT SEEMS THEY ARE REPLACING THE ENTIRE CLUTCH KIT. TOLD ME THE FLYWHEEL WAS COMPLETELY BURNED OUT. AND TRIED TO BLAME MY DRIVING, SAYING THE FLYWHEEL WAS NORMAL WHEN THEY EVALUATED IT. NO WAY, DODGE. NOW THEY'VE HAD MY CAR SINCE NOVEMBER 16TH, TODAY BEING DEC. 3, AND IT STILL WON'T BE FIXED UNTIL WELL INTO NEXT WEEK. AND THE RENTAL CAR IS OUT OF MY POCKET.

BACKING OUT OF DRIVEWAY THE GEARSHIFT STOOD ON REVERSE. I HAD TO ENGAGE EMERGENCY BRAKES TO STOP. THE GEARSHIFT STOOD IN REVERSE AND WILL NOT MOVE TO ANY OTHER GEAR. TOWED TO DEALER AND FOUND IT WAS THE GEARSHIFT CABLE DISLODGED. I HAD TO PAY 390.00 DOLLARS TO GET IT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE IS LESS THAN 3 YEARS AND THE SHIFT GEAR CABLE SNAPPED. THE CAR WON'T START, SERVICE TRANSMISSION INDICATOR LIGHT, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON, CAR MAKES LOUD NOISE FROM THE ENGINE. THE CAR MOVES REAL SLOW AND IT DOESN'T SHIFT GEARS AND THE PRDN ARE ALL LIT IN RED.
CAR STALLED WHILE OPERATING UNDER FULL POWER ON THE INTERSTATE. IT TOOK APPROX. 3 MINUTES AND IT FINALLY RESTARTED. TOOK CAR TO DEALERSHIP. THEY STATE CAR IS NOT PART OF ANY RECALL BASED ON VIN #. THEY STATE STALLING WAS RESULT OF EXTREMELY LOW OIL. HOWEVER, THE CARE HAS NO LEAK AND DOES NOT BURN OIL. IT IS SYNTHETIC OIL AND IT SIMPLY BREAK DOWNS AND DISSIPATES. I DON'T BELIEVE THEM. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS CAR HAS DONE THIS AND THE FIRST TIME THEY RE-FLASHED THE COMPUTER WITH A SOFTWARE PATCH TO FIX PROBLEM.

I RECENTLY RECEIVED THE RECALL LETTER ABOUT THIS ISSUE (R42) BUT THE LETTER STATES THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS TO FIX THIS ISSUE AT THIS TIME AND THIS ISSUE CAN CAUSE WRECKS BUT THEY WILL NOT DO A MANUFACTURE BUY BACK. ALSO MY HEAL/COOL AND GAS GAUGE SHAKES THE GAUGE WILL SOME FLUCTUATE UP AND DOWN, I TOLD THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY IGNORED ME.

THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO RE-ENTER THE VEHICLE TO ENGAGE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE, BUT WASKNOCKED TO THE GROUND BY THE DOOR. THE VEHICLE ROLLED OVER THE CONTACT'S LEGS AND CRASHED INTO A HOUSE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE RIGHT AND LEFT LEG AND LEFT HAND THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. MY CAR WAS PURCHASED 4/2013. AFTER THREE MONTHS A NEW SLAVE CYLINDER WAS INSTALLED AFTER THE COMPUTER READ NO GEARS, SERVICE TRANSMISSION. THIS HAS HAPPENED AGAIN SEVERAL TIMES IN THE TWO YEARS THAT I HAVE HAD THE CAR. EVERY THE I TURN THE CAR OFF AFTER THIS HAPPENS, THE COMPUTER RESETS, SO WHEN IT GETS TO THE DEALER, THE CLAIM THEY CAN'T REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THIS WAS HAPPENING INTERMITTENTLY, NOW ITS EVERY DAY. I CAN'T DRIVE THE CAR TO WORK FOR FEAR THAT IT WILL GIVE OUT. THE LAST FEW TIMES THIS HAS HAPPENED, THE CAR WOULDN'T START BACK UP. I HAD TO SIT FOR A FEW MINUTES BEFORE IT WOULD RESTART. THIS IS A HAZARD. THE CAR HAS NO GEARS WHILE I'M ON THE HIGHWAY YRAVELIN AT 80 MPH. THIS IS NOT SAFE FOR ME OR FOR OTHERS ON THE HIGHWAY.
ONGOING CLUTCH/HYDRAULIC PROBLEMS HAVE CAUSED ME TO BE IN SEVERAL UNSAFE SITUATIONS. FIRST SAFETY CONCERN WAS DUE TO CAR STALLING WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP. THERE WERE SEVERAL TIMES THAT IMPROPER CLUTCH ENGAGEMENT CAUSED THE CAR TO JERK AND DIE AT A STOP. SECOND CONCERN WAS FROM DIFFICULTY SHIFTING GEARS IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC DUE TO CLUTCH NOT ENGAGING FULLY. THIRD CONCERN WAS FROM TOTAL SYSTEM FAILURE (19426 MILES): EXITED INTERSTATE HIGHWAY AND DEPRESSED CLUTCH TO SHIFT TO NEUTRAL. WHILE DEPRESSING THE CLUTCH I HEARD A LOUD POP/CLUNK SOUND AND THE CLUTCH INSTANTLY DROPPED TO THE FLOOR. I THEN STARTED SMELLING THE CLUTCH BURNING AND HAD NO ABILITY TO SHIFT OR ENGAGE GEARS. 9/03/15 MY TRANSMISSION WENT OUT WITHOUT WARNING WHILE GOING APPROX 65 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY. RPM'S SHOT UP AND THE TRANS WENT OUT INSTANTANEOUSLY. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER, ENGINE AND TRANS LIGHTS CAME ON, CAR WOULD NOT GO IN ANY GEAR. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING-INTERMITTENT PROBLEM/ISSUE. THE HYDRAULIC CLUTCH SYSTEM (MANUAL TRANS) WILL LOSE PRESSURE WHICH MEANS THAT THE CLUTCH PEDAL WILL GO TO THE FLOOR AND I CAN'T SHIFT THE TRANSMISSION. AT TIMES IT IS ONLY DOING THIS FIRST THING IN THE MORNING BUT WILL GET PRESSURE AFTER "PUMPING IT UP" A FEW TIMES. IT WILL LOSE PRESSURE AFTER DRIVING FOR A PERIOD OF 15-20 MINUTES MEANING THAT WHEN COMING TO A STOP I AM UNABLE TO DOWNSHIFT. ONCE STOPPED, WHEN IT HAS LOST PRESSURE, IF YOU LEAVE THE TRANSMISSION IN FIRST GEAR, OR REVERSE, IT WILL MOVE WHEN THE IGNITION KEY IS PUT INTO THE START MODE WHEN THE CLUTCH PEDAL IS FULLY DEPRESSED!
