The contact stated that the vehicle experienced a failure with the HVAC system. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure; however, the contact was advised that the infotainment unit might need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 120,000.

I PURCHASED MY DODGE DART AT 21,000 MILES. 30,000 MILES CAR SHUTS OFF ON HIGHWAY. TOTAL POWER LOSS. DODGE WAS ABLE TO LIMIT THE PROBLEM HOWEVER RAN ROUGH AND AT ABOUT 45000 MILES CAR SHIFTED HARD NOW AT 70000 DODGE TELLS ME IT'S THE TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY. 3,000 DOLLAR REPAIR. AT THIS POINT CAR IS NOT WORTH 3000. STILL SHUTS OFF COMPLETELY WHILE DRIVING. TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE IS RECALLED FOR THE 2013 DART HOWEVER NOT MY VIN# ????? I SEE TONS OF PEOPLE WITH THE SAME ISSUES EVEN CASES AGAINST DODGE FOR THIS MODEL. HOWEVER THEY ARE UNWILLING TO HELP ME OUT WITH ANY ISSUES I BRING TO THEIR ATTENTION. UNFORTUNATE. FOR ME.

DODGE DARTS OF THIS MODEL YEAR INCLUDING MINE HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE TURBOCHARGER. PROBLEMS WITHIN THE SETUP CREATE A "TURBO UNDERBOOST" CONDITION, WHICH PROMPTS A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, AND THROWS THE CAR INTO LIMP MODE. THIS IS OFTEN ACCOMPANIED BY A LACK OF POWER FROM THE ENGINE AND A ROUGH IDLE, OR STALLING AT IDLE. IN MY CASE IT HAPPENED WHILE I LEAVING A CITY, AND I DID NOT HAVE THE POWER TO ACCELERATE TO HIGHWAY SPEED. AFTER PULLING OVER AND RE-STARTING THE CAR, THIS ISSUE IS TEMPORARILY RESOLVED. THERE IS HEAT THAT CONSISTENTLY EMANATES INTO THE CAR FROM THE AREA WHERE THE WIRING HARNESS OR FUSE BOX WOULD BE. I'VE HAD IT LOOKED AT AND MECHANICS CONTINUE TO SAY THAT THE FUSE BOX IS FINE BUT THERE SEEMS TO BE AN ISSUE WITH THE HARNESS. THE PROBLEMS IS SO BAD THAT THE HEAT OVER TIME HAS LED TO BAD PAINT DAMAGE TO THE LEFT SIDE OF THE CAR. THE PAINT IS COMPLETELY DULL. THE DISCOLORATION IS BEYOND OBVIOUS AND NOTICEABLE. THE HEAT BEGINS TO BE A PROBLEM ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AFTER TURNING IT ON.
THE PARKING BRAKE HAS FAILED ON TWO OCCASIONS, ONCE WHILE STATIONARY WHEN IT WAS AT THE DEALERSHIP. IT CRASHED INTO A CAR IN THEIR PARKING LOT IN 2016. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN AND OUT OF THE DEALERSHIP OVER THE LAST FOUR YEARS. IT WAS IN THE DEALERSHIP IN 2015-2016 THIRTEEN TIMES FOR OIL LEAKS AND THE ENGINE EITHER DYING OR ALMOST SEIZING WHILE IN MOTION. THIS RESULTED IN MY VEHICLE STARTING ON FIRE IN LATE 2016 EARLY 2017. THE REPAIR FOR THE FIRE DAMAGE WAS COVERED BY MY INSURANCE COMPANY AND IT WAS SUBSEQUENTLY FIXED BY A DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP AFTER THAT. MORE RECENTLY, IT WAS IN MY DRIVEWAY AND ROLLED INTO MY TRUCK AND DAMAGED THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE'S BUMPER WHILE STATIONARY WITH THE PARKING BRAKE WAS ENGAGED. THE SYMPTOMS WITH THE ENGINE HAVE ALSO STARTED TO REAPPEAR WHILE IN MOTION IN 3RD OR 4TH GEAR... IT STARTS...
OUR VEHICLE KEEPS SHUTTING OFF ON HIGHWAYS, ROADS, ETC. WE ALWAYS HAVE CHILDREN IN THE CAR. WHEN WE CAN FINALLY START IT AGAIN THE WHOLE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM THEN WANTS TO SHUT DOWN AND THE SCREEN STAYS BLACK FOR A LONG TIME.

I HAVE HAD 5 DIFFERENT PLACES CHANGE MY OIL AND AT EVERY ONE THE FILTER HAS EITHER COME OFF IN MY HAND OR CREATE A GAP IN THE FILTER SEAL WHICH IS CAUSED OIL TO START SPRAYING ALL OVER THE CAR AND LEAKING ALL OVER THE GROUND. I HAVE HAD TO TAKE THE CAR IN EVERY 2,000 MILES OR SO TO HAVE IT RECALIBRATED(ENGINE LIGHT ON), THE DRIVERS HEADLIGHT WENT OUT, SHOP WHERE I BOUGHT IT SAID IT'S THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY, BOUGHT ONE AND HAD REGULAR MECHANIC PUT IN, DID NOT WORK. MY REGULAR MECHANIC SAID IT IS PROBABLY THE HEADLIGHT CONTROL MODULE, AND SINCE I NEED TO TAKE IT IN AGAIN FOR RECALIBRATION I AM TRYING TO FIND OUT IF THE MODULE WAS CHECKED AND HAVE IT REPLACED. BURNED OIL AND NEED TO PUT OIL IN AFTER 750 MILES. NEW ENGINE WAS PUT IN, BUT IT STILL HAVE PROBLEMS. THE PROBLEM FIRST STARTED 12/4/17. I WAS DRIVING MY CAR AND IT COMPLETELY STOP WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT CALLED LANDMARK DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM AT 770 968-4900 (LOCATED AT 6850 MT ZION BLVD, MORROW, GA 30260) AND WAS ADVISED TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000.
IN THE LAST 4 WEEKS, WHILE DRIVING, MY CAR HAS DISPLAYED A "SERVICE TRANSMISSION" ERROR AND "GEAR NOT AVAILABLE ERROR." BEFORE STARTING VEHICLE, CLUTCH PEDAL GOES STRAIGHT TO FLOOR AND HAS TO BE PULLED BACK UP INTO POSITION. PROBLEM OCCURS MULTIPLE TIMES A WEEK. AFTER CLUTCH IS PUMPED A FEW TIMES, IT REGAINS PRESSURE AND IS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN. VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 35,000 MILES BUT IS OVER THE 5 YEAR WARRANTY. EXTENDED WARRANTY WILL COVER IT WITH A $100 DEDUCTIBLE. THE 2013 DODGE DART WITH THE 1.4L TURBO ENGINE WAS A VEHICLE MADE THAT WAS MADE IN MURPHY'S LAW (EVERYTHING THAT COULD GO WRONG, WILL GO WRONG). SINCE PURCHASING THIS USED VEHICLE IN 2016 WITH 43,000 MILES ON THE ENGINE I HAVE HAD MULTIPLE OCCURRENCES OF MECHANICAL PROBLEMS. THE FIRST ISSUE I HAVE HAD WAS THE TURBO.
