Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE DART. WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL. WHEN THIS OCCURRED, THE VEHICLE WOULD SOMETIMES DECELERATE. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AFTER A WHILE AND "SERVICE TRANSMISSION" APPEARED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT CALLED MARINO PARK DODGE CHRYSLER (5133 W IRVING PARK RD, CHICAGO, IL 60641, (773) 777-2000) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NO REMEDY AVAILABLE FOR THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT NEW SPARK PLUGS NEEDED TO BE INSTALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE A REMEDY. THE CONTACT WAS PLACED ON AN EMAIL LIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,000.
