Issue 1) Side slide door on driver side won't open. I could not get my child out and had to crawl across. Won't unlock, won't open manually, won't open electronically, won't unlock with fab. Issue 2) driver window has failed 3 times now. Like clock work every 2 and a half to 3 years it goes out.

First incident. Driver side sliding door lock failed. Sliding door could not be unlocked and opened from inside or outside the vehicle. Had to use other sliding door to exit van. Door had to be dismantled and failed latch replaced. Approximately 7 years old and roughly 52,000 miles. This was around 9/2023. Second incident. Passenger side sliding door lock failed. Sliding door could not be unlocked and opened from inside or outside the vehicle. Had to use other sliding door to exit / enter van. Scheduled to go in for failed latch replacement at Chrysler dealer. Approximately 9 years old and roughly 63,000 miles. Either one of these unexpected failed door latch incidents could have led to injury or possibly death.

I received a letter from Chrysler regarding TSB #23-017-20 regarding the rear sliding doors unable to be opened either electrically or manually a few years ago. Recently the cars left/rear door wouldn't work. Unable to open it at all. It's a 2016 Town and Country with 147,421 miles on it. Well within the TSB requirements. I called a local Chrysler dealer. They told me if they decided the cars problem wasn't part of the recall they would charge me $250.00 for diagnostics. It clearly is related since it has the same symptoms. Sounds like their way of avoiding the repairs since Chrysler will only reimburse the dealer for 1.2 hrs when actually repair time is past 3 hours. I then called 1-800-247-9753 the number on Chrysler's service bulletin they mailed me. After a 30 minute conversation were they told me the car didn't qualify. I convinced them it did when...

The sliding drivers side door is locked shut and will not open. I have seen a notice for this vehicle model but for some reason this VIN does not show it.
#11551036 |
Defective door-latching system; in particular: the driver side, (left side), passengers sliding door; which resulted in occupant being trapped in vehicle until we were able to extricate through other door. There is a pending class action lawsuit regarding this defect: UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT FOR THE EASTERN DISTRICT OF MICHIGAN Case 2:21-cv-11696-JEL-DRG; failure occurred with no warning and does not allow for manual operation of the door system. This defect poses an extreme safety hazard, as it is possible that both passenger doors could be affected, essentially trapping the occupants in the mid and rear seating compartments.
#11531941 |
Both Passenger rear doors will not open. It is available for inspection. My passengers had to crawl over the rear seat to exit the vehicle. If for instance there had been a fire or an accident they may or may not be able to get out safely. Yes I have taken it to two dealers who wanted $ 3,000.00 to repair them. No warning lamps. No messages. They actually began closing on my passengers while trying to enter the car. The back hatch door is also presenting issues as it opens randomly mostly after a rain storm. It will also begin to close on us while we are putting our groceries into the back.
#11508437 |
The driver side sliding door stopped unlocking, manually or automatically, it also stopped opening manually or automatically by button. I contacted my dealer who referred me to TSB 23-036-21 REV. A. They said the repair would be 100% covered by the manufacturer, however, after repair, they tell me that certain parts required for repair we not covered by the extended warranty. They replaced the actuator as the repair required, as well as the latch. The actuators are specified in the TSB, the latches are not. But the dealer insisted that to repair this they followed manufacturer instructions and the latch was necessary to fix the door. They gave me the FCA Chrysler hotline, which I called and they tell me that the latches ARE required to be replaced for repair, but that the customer is required to pay for this part which is nearly $800. If latch repair is necessary...

The passenger side sliding door will not open. The lock became stuck in the locked position and it will not unlock. It cannot be unlocked by hand, the unlock button inside the van, or with the key fob. This is dangerous because nobody can get out through that door in the case of an emergency.
#11474770 |
my left sliding door just opens at any giving time i have been sitting in my house on several occasions and my neighbors ring my doorbell to tell me my door is open i get out of my vehicle and the door just opens up out of nowhere thats the left sliding door. The right sliding door makes a buzzing sound when i lock it and unlock it. suppose i have my grandchild in the back when that door just decides to open on it's own

The rear drivers side door suddenly stopped opening. Happened at 56k miles.
#11457877 |
Both driver’s and passenger’s side sliding doors have failed automatic locking mechanisms. Sliding doors on both sides have locked and have been unable to open either manually or by using push-buttons in the vehicle or on the key fob. A technician told me this is caused by a failed actuator. I managed to get the doors open, but now they buzz when opening the doors and the locks don’t seem to work. Two safety concerns: 1) We won’t be able to get the doors open in an emergency. 2) The door lock or latch will fail when the vehicle is in use and someone will fall out.
#11445357 |
Driver side sliding door cannot be opened either remotely or manually, Something is non-functional inside the door. In order to exit the vehicle, people must climb over to the front seat or across the vehicle to the passenger side sliding door. If this were to happen on the passenger side, the only way out is through the front doors. This must be a design issue as the vehicle has NOT been in any accident--people in the rear seats are at risk if they need to exit quickly. Previously told by a mechanic shop, this was an actuator problem. Chrysler has now extended the warranty on the actuator, but now they say it is a latch issue not covered by the extended warranty, and want $1100 to repair it. Latch, actuator, or whatever reason, no vehicle door should ever get into this type of mode. I have now spent $320 on...
#11444895 |
Back sliding door inoperable, dealership sold the vehicle this way, neglected to disclose the issue. When we noticed we refused the sale, dealership added to the sale contract that it would be fixed before delivery, vehicle was not fixed before delivery after several attempts, and a third party off site company attempted to fix the issue. Dealership had the vehicle for 36 days before coming to a temporary fix, door still has issues opening and closing. Sometimes won’t open at all or just close instantly after opening pinching/crushing anyone who isn’t fast enough to get out of the way in the door. Door has also come completely off the track at one point. The door will not stop if it starts to close, it will slide closed into you or a child, the censors do not work as designed apparently. I sincerely hope for a fix as I am terrified...
#11442770 |
Passenger sliding door lock intermittently inoperable and makes a loud buzzing sound when locking. Drivers side sliding door will not open manually or with automatic controls.
#11442714 |
Sliding door lock actuator is inoperable. The door will not unlock or open which could trap the occupants. The problem has not been reproduced/confirmed by the dealer or service center, however, research on this issue states that motorsafety.org has an article that it is researching this to issue a recall. There were no warning lights. After removing the door panel, the issue has been resolved, however, the door makes a buzzing noise when it's locked now. Since the initial problem, the door has been stuck one other time. The initial problem occurred 4 weeks ago.

Body: Driver's side sliding door will not open- neither with the button or manually Electrical: The back up camera/radio unit turns off or refuses to power on when starting the vehicle Fuel/Propulsion System: The vehicle does not change gear smoothly (automatic vehicle), The driver must manually change the gear speed to avoid collisions.
#11440112 |
The rear sliding driver’s side door could not be opened. There was no warning that this would happen. With this malfunction, exiting the vehicle from the back seat would be difficult and possibly life threatening in a crash.
#11438185 |
This summer our driver’s side sliding door stopped working. It will not open manually or with the buttons in the car or on the remote. Around the same time, the lock on the passenger side sliding door started to buzz every time it unlocked. This weekend, the passenger side sliding door became stuck closed as well. Neither door is functional. I have a child in a 5 point harness that must be in one of the middle seats. It is very difficult to get her in and out. In the case of an emergency, we would be struggling to get the 4 kids out of the back. I see that you are doing an investigation, so I wanted to be sure and report the problem. We have not pursued a repair yet as it is not in our budget.
#11428997 |
The driver side sliding door is stuck in the locked position and will not unlock using the key fob, the door locks on the front doors, the manual door lock on the door itself, or by pulling on the handle to open the door. This door will not open at all and is a very dangerous safety hazard if we were to be involved in an accident or have a vehicle fire and the door cannot be opened. There is no warning notice or error given thru the vehicle's message center on the dash.

Right sliding door buzzes when unlocking.
#11424732 |
On 3 July 2021 the driver side rear sliding door became inoperable. The door would not open using either the electronic motor or by manually pulling the handle and sliding the door. The door lock appeared to be jammed in the locked position and could not be unlocked either electronically or manually. Not being able to open the rear door in any manner is unsafe and in the event of an accident would not allow access or egress to passengers in the rear of the vehicle. I had an independent ASE Certified Master Mechanic asses the issue. The only way to get the door open was to remove the door panel from the inside and manually push the lock actuator back into the correct position. Upon further inspection and testing it was noted that flipping the child safety lock back and forth several times seemed to have reset the actuator...

The sliding door on the driver’s side is stuck and cannot be opened either automatically or mechanically. This is extremely dangerous in event of an emergency.
#11418631 |
The sliding rear doors became stuck and will not open. In the event of an emergency, the children will not be able to exit the vehicle quickly. The problem is confirmed by a dealer. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police or insurance representatives. There were no warning lamps or messages.

THE TRANSMISSION HYDRAULIC PUMP FAILED AND CAUSED COMPLETE FAILURE OF THE TRANS AT 105000 MILES. THE ROCKER ARMS FAILED AT 97000 MILES. THE FRONT LOWER AARM BUSHINGS FAILED AT ABOUT 60000 MILES. THE REAR SLIDER DOORS DON'T LOCK AND WHEN THE DEALER TRIED TO REPAIR THEM THEY MADE IT WORSE NOW THE WINDOWS IN THOSE DOORS ARE FAILING. ALSO A CODE FOR THERMOSTAT HOUSING POPPED UP AFTER THE ROCKER ARM REPAIR. WHAT A TERRIBLE VEHICLE. IT'S ONLY 5 YEARS OLD AND I'M A STICKLER ABOUT MAINTENANCE.

REAR PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT LOCK CAUSING A SAFETY HAZARD FOR BOTH CHILDREN AND ADULT PASSENGERS. THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM WHILE DRIVING, OR WHILE THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE SLIDING DOOR FAILED TO OPEN MANUALLY OR ELECTRONICALLY. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE SLIDING DOOR PRIOR TO THE FAILURE ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GILLMAN CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (10585 W. SAM HOUSTON PKWY S, HOUSTON, TX 77099, (832) 553-0100) WHERE THE DRIVER'S SIDE SLIDING DOOR ACTUATOR WAS REPLACED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.

HELLO, I PURCHASE MY 2016 TOWN AND COUNTY AS A BRAND NEW VEHICLE. I HAD HOPES THAT THIS WOULD BE THE LAST FAMILY VEHICLE THAT I WOULD PURCHASE TO TRANSPORT MY BUSY FAMILY. HOWEVER, THE TIME THAT I HAVE USED THIS MINI VAN HAS BEEN A SERIES OF PROBLEMS. THE MAIN ONE IS THE REOCCURRING PROBLEMS WITH THE PLASTIC EXTERIOR PARTS TO THIS VEHICLE CONSTANTLY COMING OFF. THE B PILLAR APPLIQUE, LEFT - MOPAR (5020665AD) AND RIGHT B PILLAR APPLIQUE, RIGHT - MOPAR (5020664AD) ARE THE TWO PARTS THAT I AM REPLACING CONSTANTLY. THE LAST INCIDENT WAS BOTH PARTS CAME OFF ON A BUSY HIGHWAY AND ALMOST HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE. THESE PLASTIC PARTS ARE UNSAFE AND A HAZARD. THEY ARE NOT DESIGNED TO STAY ON THE VEHICLE. I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE QUOTE WAS OVER 300 DOLLARS TO REPLACE. THIS IS AN EXAMPLE OF HOW...

DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR MECHANISM WOULD NOT WORK USING KEY FOB OR INSIDE AUTOMATIC BUTTON MOUNTED ON INSIDE. MANUAL LOCK ALSO WOULD NOT WORK. IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY OR ACCIDENT WE WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN ABLE TO EXTRACT OUR 2-YEAR OLD GRANDSON QUICKLY AS WE WOULD HAVE HAD TO GET OUR 5-YEAR OLD GRANDSON OUT OF HIS CAR SEAT FIRST THEN CRAWL OVER HIS SEAT TO GET HIS BROTHER OUT. IN AN EMERGENCY WE MAY NOT HAVE THE TIME TO EXTRACT OUR GRANDCHILDREN. FROM RESEARCH I'VE DONE IT APPEARS THIS PROBLEM HAS EXISTED SINCE 2003 & CHRYSLER HAS DONE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO CORRECT THIS DESIGN FLAW PUTTING PEOPLE'S LIVES AT RISK. I PAID OVER $1,200 TO REPLACE THE MECHANISM. IN MY OPINION THIS IS CLEAR NEGLIGENCE BY CHRYSLER/ DODGE. THE ONLY SAVING GRACE WAS THE REPAIR SHOP (PEP BOYS) FIXED THE WRONG DOOR, WHEN I COMPLAINED TO THEIR CORPORATE...

PASSENGER REAR SLIDING DOOR LOCKED AND COULD NOT BE OPENED. DEALER REPLACED LATCHING MECH-COST 650.00 IN2018. THEN IN 2020 THE DRIVER SIDE SLIDING REAR DOOR DID THE SAME THING, DEALER REPLACED LATCHING MECH-COST 950.00. THIS SHOULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE AS THE DOORS CAN ONLY BE OPENED BY THE DEALER.
#11352578 |
DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR MAKES A LOUD BUZZING SOUND WHILE LOCKING OR UNLOCKING THE VEHICLE. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR THIS VEHICLE AND AN EXPENSIVE REPAIR (AROUND $650). EVENTUALLY THE LOCK WILL NOT FUNCTION AT ALL AND YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO LOCK OR UNLOCK THE DOOR. THIS IS A LIFE SAFETY ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY CHRYSLER.
#11352605 |
PASSENGER-SIDE SLIDING DOOR LOCK DOES NOT WORK CORRECTLY AND SOMETIMES GETS STUCK. IT MAKES A LOUD BUZZING NOISE WHEN TRYING TO LOCK AND UNLOCK. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE BUT NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED.
#11352081 |
THE LOCK ACTUATOR FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR DOOR STOPPED FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. THE DOOR LOCK STUCK IN THE LOCKED POSITION AND THE DOOR COULD NOT BE OPENED. A BODY SHOP GOT THE ACTUATOR UNSTUCK, BUT WITHIN A FEW DAYS IT WAS STUCK AGAIN, THIS TIME IN THE UNLOCKED POSITION. I STARTED RESEARCHING THE PROBLEM ONLINE AND FOUND A WAY TO GET THE LOCK UNSTUCK AND I USED THAT TRICK WHEN IT STUCK IN THE LOCKED POSITION, BUT OVER TIME THE ACTUATOR HAS ALSO STARTED BUZZING. NOW WHEN THE POWER DOOR LOCKS ARE ACTIVATED, INSTEAD OF LOCKING OR UNLOCKING THE ACTUATOR ON THIS DOOR JUST BUZZES LOUDLY AND THE LOCK MECHANISM DOESN'T MOVE. IT'S BEEN BUZZING FOR MONTHS NOW, SO I DECIDED TO DO SOME MORE RESEARCH AND SEE IF IT WAS AN ISSUE I FELT COMFORTABLE FIXING MYSELF. ONCE I STARTED LOOKING, I FOUND SEVERAL FORUMS WERE A LOT OF...

ONE DAY THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE DOOR WOULDN'T OPEN IN OUR 2016 TOWN AND COUNTRY.. IT COULDN'T BE LOCKED, UNLOCKED, OR OPENED MANUALLY. TWO WEEKS LATER THE REAR PASSENGERS DOOR STARTED MAKING THE SAME NOISE. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, AND THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS PARTICULAR MAKE AND MODEL. I WAS TOLD THE ACTUATORS WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED IN BOTH DOORS ($1000) A DOOR. I ASKED THE MECHANIC IF THE CAR DOORS COULD BE MADE FUNCTIONAL WITHOUT FIXING THE AUTOMATIC ACTUATORS, AND THEY TOLD ME BASICALLY THEY HAVE TO BREAK THE DOOR IN ORDER TO OPEN IT OR FIX IT. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN. IF WE WERE IN A CAR ACCIDENT THERE WOULD BE NO WAY OF OPENING EITHER PASSENGER DOOR. I ASKED THE MECHANIC WHAT WE WERE SUPPOSED TO DO IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY, AND HE...

EVERY TIME IT AUTOMATICALLY LOCKS OR KEY FOB IS USED TO UNLOCK IT- MY REAR PASSENGER SLIDING DOOR MAKES A LOUD BUZZING. ALSO- THAT DOOR DOESN'T LOCK, EVEN WHEN THE LOCK BUTTON IS PUSHED MULTIPLE TIMES FROM THE KEY FOB.
#11339677 |
OUR PASSENGER SIDE SLIDER DOOR, DOES NOT FULLY CLOSE AND CREATES A CLICKING NOISE WHEN CLOSING. THIS ONLY HAPPENS WHEN THE TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE IS WARM AND THE CAR HAS BEEN SITTING. IF WE KEEP THE CAR IN THE GARAGE IT DOES NOT HAPPEN. THE DOOR IS ALSO NOW STARTING TO COME AJAR WHILE DRIVING CAUSING THE INTERIOR LIGHTS AND DOOR AJAR LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD TO ENGAGE. WE ARE WORRIED THE DOOR COULD PHYSICALLY COME OPEN WHILE DRIVING ENDANGERING THE CHILDREN IN THE BACK. WE PURCHASED THIS CAR IN 2018 AND HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS ISSUE FROM THE BEGINNING OF OUR OWNERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO REPLICATE AND WE HAVE JUST KEPT THE CAR IN THE GARAGE TO KEEP IT COOL, HOWEVER IT IS BECOMING MORE OF AN ISSUE AND THE DOOR WILL RANDOMLY COME AJAR NOW WHILE DRIVING.
#11339527 |
THE CAR IS 4 YEARS OLD AND THE DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR IS STUCK IN THE LOCKED POSITION AND WILL NOT UNLOCK AND CANNOT BE OPENED. IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT OR FIRE NO ONE WILL BE ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE CAR ON THE DRIVERS SIDE OF THE VEHICLE
#11339578 |
THE DRIVER'S SIDE SLIDING DOOR IS STUCK IN THE LOCKED/CLOSED POSITION. I TRIED TO OPEN IT WITH MY KEY, THE BUTTONS ABOVE THE REAR-VIEW MIRROR, AND MANUALLY WITH NO LUCK. TOOK TO DEALER, AND WAS TOLD IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM THAT THEY FIX REGULARLY, BUT THERE IS NOT RECALL. I JUST FIXED THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR LESS THAT A YEAR AGO, AND NOW I AM DEALING WITH THE DRIVER'S SIDE. IN THE CASE OF AN EMERGENGY/ACCIDENT, HOW ARE MY KIDS SUPPOSED TO GET OUT A A VAN WITH A DOOR THAT WILL NOT OPEN MANUALLY? IT IS ONLY A 2016.
#11329206 |
WHEN EVER THE REAR LEFT SLIDING DOOR LOCKS OR UNLOCKS, THERE IS A VERY LOUD BUZZING SOUND. *TR
#11328002 |
THE AUTO DOOR LOCKS ON THE REAR SLIDING DOORS JAMMED AND STOPPED WORKING. AFTER MANUALLY UNLOCKING THE DOORS, THEY NOW BOTH WORK, BUT THE LOCK ACTUATORS ON BOTH SLIDING DOORS MAKE A LOUD BUZZING SOUND. THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR DOOR DOES IT WHEN IT UNLOCKS, AND THE DRIVER SIDE REAR DOOR DOES IT WHEN IT LOCKS. *TR
#11327114 |
THE DRIVER SIDE PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK/OPEN. IT LIMITS MY ABILITY TO GET TO MY CHILD QUICKLY IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY, ON SIDE OF ROAD, ETC. *TR
#11326188 |
BOTH SLIDING DOORS WOULD NOT OPEN. THEY FOUND THAT THE LEFT SIDE ACTUATOR WAS JAMMED AND THE RIGHT SIDE WAS GRINDING. THE DOORS WOULD NOT OPEN AT ALL - NOT EVEN MANUALLY. THIS WAS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. NO ONE COULD GET OUT OF THE VAN WITHOUT CLIMBING ONTO THE FRONT OR OUT THE BACK HATCH. *TR

SLIDING DOOR MAKES A LOUD BUZZING NOISE WHEN I UNLOCK ANY OF THE DOORS AS WELL AS WHEN I OPEN THE BACK HATCH. SINCE I DON'T OPEN THE DOORS WHEN THE CAR IS MOVING I DON'T KNOW WHETHER OR NOT IT WOULD MAKE THE NOISE WHEN MOVING BUT IT DOES WHEN I AM NOT MOVING.
#11310578 |
THE AUTOMATIC SLIDING DOOR NO LONGER LOCKS. IT HAS BEEN TRACED BACK AT AN SMALL HYDRAULIC PIN THAT PUSHES THE LOCK OPEN AND CLOSED. TO FIX THIS PART IT HAS BEEN QUOTED BETWEEN $800-$1000. DUE TO THE FACT, THEY HAVE TO REMOVE THE DOOR COMPLETELY, THEN BREAK THE PANEL AND THE TRIM FROM THE INSIDE TO REACH THE PARTS. NOW WE ARE BEING CHARGED TO REPLACE THE PANEL AND THE EXISTING TRIM. HAVE LOOKED INTO THIS AND OTHERS ARE EXPERIENCING SAME / SIMILAR ISSUES. ALL OTHER DOORS LOCK, BUT WHEN LOCKED THE SLIDING DOOR CAN BE OPENED BY ANYONE.

THE DRIVERS SIDE SLIDING PASSENGER DOOR SUDDENLY IS STUCK IN THE LOCK SHUT POSITION. THERE IS NO WAY OF OPENING THE DOOR MANUALLY OR WITH THE KEY FAB REMOTE. THE OTHER SLIDING DOOR ALSO PRODUCES A LOUD SOUND WHEN IT LOCKS AND UNLOCKS. I TOOK IT IN THE GET FIXED, THE SHOP SAYS THAT THE ACTUATOR IN BOTH DOORS WAS BROKEN AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. ONLINE I ALSO FOUND A LOT OF OTHER TOWN AND COUNTRY OWNERS HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE. THIS COULD BE A BIG SAFETY HAZARD IF EVER SOMEONE NEEDED TO BE EVACUATED FROM THE VEHICLE AND THE DOOR IS STUCK SHUT.
#11271753 |
THE DRIVER'S SIDE SLIDING DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK MANUALLY OR AUTOMATICALLY. I CANNOT OPEN THE DOOR AT ALL. IT JUST STOPPED WORKING WITH NO APPARENT CAUSE.
#11271143 |
THE DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR STOPPED WORKING FROM ONE DAY TO THE NEXT. I USED THE DOOR ON SUNDAY, OCTOBER 20TH AND WENT TO USE IT THE FOLLOWING MORNING AND IT WOULD NOT OPEN VIA THE KEYFOB OR THE OVERHEAD BUTTON. WHEN I TRIED TO MANUALLY OPEN THE DOOR, IT WOULD NOT BUDGE. THE LOCK MECHANISM WILL NOT MOVE. I DID SOME RESEARCH ONLINE AND IT LOOKS LIKE AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH THESE VEHICLES BUT IT PRESENTS A SAFETY ISSUE IF THE VEHICLE GETS IN AN ACCIDENT, IT COULD IMPEDE PASSENGERS EXITING THE VEHICLE AND SUSTAINING FURTHER INJURY.
