Vehicle lost power with no prior warning at highway speeds. Vehicle then displayed "Stop Safely Vehicle will shut off soon" message. In order to attempt a reset, driver must turn off, leave vehicle with FOB and secure vehicle. Then return to vehcile and start up in an attempt to reboot. Check engine light remained, but functioned nromally for a day. Vehicle did the same on another freeway at 70 mph, and continued with the same events above several times, some producing immediate repeat message, or other times getting a half mile down the road. Depending on availability of a shoulder or center divide, this is extremly dangerous to fail unexpectedly on the highway. In California there are freeways with over 6 lanes, try getting across 6 lanes of traffic with no power, in limp mode. Vehicle is now at dealer awaiting diagnosis and repair. I continued with the vehicle when...
Vehicle had been operating less than 5 minutes. When I was on an on-ramp for a left entrance to a highway, several warning lights illuminated in addition to messaging on my dash. The car entered "turtle mode" which extremely limited the speed of the vehicle. I immediately pressed the button for my hazard lights to come on, but they did not operate correctly. They flashed so rarely that they did not warn vehicles behind me that I was having an incident. During this incident, the vehicle speedometer was inoperable, displaying "-- --" instead of a speed. I was lucky to be able to pull to the shoulder, but with the narrow shoulder and my child in the car I felt safer limping off the highway using primarily the shoulder. I was terrified and had some cars nearly hit me/honk as I was going approximately 10 miles per hour on a...
Hybrid system will not run on battery. Hybrid system shows 100% battery charge on dash. Hybrid mode screen shows Engine at 12KW, Battery use at 0KW, and climate at 7KW. S
Driving on highway in hybrid mode, van lost engine power and coasts to a stop in traffic. Dashboard light says Stop Safely Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon. The engine is effectively off with no motive power available. This happened 4 times in a row over the course of 1.5 hrs on [XXX] from Virginia to North Carolina! We were nearly killed by traffic trying to clear the roadway with no power from the engine whatsoever. Completely unacceptable! INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Vehicle was purchased new on [XXX]. 360 surround cameras and Connect box malfunctioned and vehicle was brought in for service on July 10, 2024. I was told by the service advisor that the camera was a poor connection and simply plugged back in but they were unable to reproduce the UConnect issue and that it was currently working. On [XXX] I started the vehicle in my driveway and it immediately entered "limp mode" with a large red turtle appearing on the dash and the check engine light illuminated. The vehicle would not drive greater than 5mph and posed a safety risk on the road so was towed to the dealer. The hybrid battery coolant hose was replaced and I picked up the vehicle on [XXX]. The diagnostic code relayed to me was P0C44-00. On [XXX], I started the vehicle in a family member's driveway and it again entered limp mode...
We are currently on a family vacation going from CA to Nebraska and our 2023 Chrysler Pacifica hybrid completely shut down on us while driving through Las Vegas. A warning came up on the dash stating “slow down, engine will be shutting down”. We were on a main freeway and almost got hit because of this. We had our two kids in the car and are so upset this happened especially because we just bought the vehicle in May 2024 and this is the second time this has happened to us. We had to pay for a rental vehicle out of pocket to continue our trip and get our van towed to a nearby dealership in Las Vegas. It is currently sitting at the dealership and we have no idea how long it’s going to take to get fixed or how we are going to get it back to CA.
The check engine light came on suddenly and the vehicle stopped while driving down street. The dashboard read Park car safely. Engine is going to shut down. However, car stopped almost immediately leaving me stranded in the middle of a highly traveled state route. The Check engine code read Drive Motor A Inverter Performance. Mechanic stated it was an internal short in the transmission control module.
Dash displayed "no bus" at the range level along with every error message possible. All of a sudden it goes haywire. Can't tell what speed you're going, you can put gas to floor and no acceleration, power steering comes and goes, wipers turn on and off, let go of the brake and it accelerates on its own, you name it. Van will not shift in and out of gear and will not turn off even when holding down start button. We've taken it in three times second and third time was towed in, and now it's happening again. They can't find anything wrong with it (other than 60+ error codes). They reset the codes and then drive it and say it didn't happen to them so they have no answers. Third time taking it in they were able to reproduce the problem but don't have a definitive fix. Turning it...
While driving in heavy traffic in a construction zone of a two lane highway my vehicle alerted me to get over and stop because my vehicle was shutting down. The vehicle then slowed down more and more without break lights, causing vehicles to come up to my vehicle closely and almost hit me. Due to the construction there was no immediate place for me to pull over. I had to drive 3/4 of a mile like this with my child in the car. I was finally able to get to an on ramp with shoulder and pull over. We are lucky we were not plowed into by another car while this all was happening, or while we were waiting by the road. This issue is directly related to an apparent known issue on these cars, but not known to us.
This is a new 2023 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, it's only 1k miles and 1 month after the purchase, I experienced a sudden loss of power while driving in the afternoon on 6/20, there was a warning light that beeps and tells me I'm about to loss power. Fortunately I am still half mile away from freeway entrance, and I just stopped at a red light blocking vehicles behind me.... the car wouldn't start for a few minutes, and I finally get it to start after I open and close the door. The engine light has been on since the incident, and eventually went away the next day morning on 6/21, right before I dropped it off at dealership to get it checked. They read the code and confirmed it was transmission. The dealer told me they will know what to do by mid next week, and if a new transmission...
We purchased a brand new car and we have driven just 778 miles. Below are the things happened suddenly while driving on highway on our long planned trip and it screwed up entire journey. 1. Instrument cluster suddenly shown the error “service charging system” in the middle of highway when I was driving in 70 mph speed and the vehicle started applying heavy breaks automatically and speed dropped down from 70MPH to 25MPH in 5-6 seconds. Engine light is on as well. I’m unable to accelerate. Somehow luckily I was able to pull the car to right shoulder. We were scared that we will be in an accident due to sudden brake. 2. I tried stopping the car and then starting. It shown the same error couple of times. 3. After couple of times, I tried to press brake and push on start button, the brake hit me back and...
The contact owns a 2023 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid. The contact stated that while his wife was driving 70-75 MPH, the message "Stop Safely. Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon." was displayed, and a chime sounded. Additionally, the check engine warning light and the turtle warning light were illuminated. The contact's wife was able to pull to the side of the road. The contact stated that after his wife turned off and restarted the vehicle, the message was no longer displayed; however, the check engine warning light remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V010000 (Electrical System, Hybrid Propulsion System) and NHTSA Action Number: PE22008 (Power Train). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the dealer for assistance. The...
The power train system of our vehicle experienced a critical malfunction, as indicated by the "Service Charging System" error message and engine light on the dashboard, leading to a loss of power in the accelerator. We are willing to cooperate and make the vehicle available for inspection upon request. The abrupt loss of power in the accelerator at a high speed posed an immediate risk to the safety of my wife, two infants, and other road users, necessitating an emergency maneuver to coast to the side of the freeway. The dealer confirmed the error on Oct 30, 2023, and attempted to rectify the issue. Unfortunately, their efforts were not successful, as the problem recurred on Nov 11, 2023, after the vehicle was returned to us. The vehicle has undergone inspections four times. The first inspection occurred at the dealer on Oct 29, 2023. Subsequent inspections took place at the dealer...
My air conditioner went out in my car three weeks after purchase. I took it to the dealership. They replace several parts and said that there was an electrical issue they ran into. They said they had to get approval from Chrysler engineering in order to replace the part. The car was in the dealership for over a month. Other findings state that the air-conditioning unit was low on Freon. And several fuse arrays were not working properly. The car had apx 1600 miles on it when I had to take the car back to dealership for the AC issue . The dealership gave me back to my car after one month in the service department. On my way home. The car suddenly told me to get to a safe place as car was going to stop. I had to call Law Enforcement to move me out of an intersection,...
