CHRYSLER 300 TOURING EDITION 2006 STALLS AFTER I COME TO A COMPLETE STOP AT THE BOTTOM OF STEEP HILL. I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE CAR AFTER PUTTING IT IN NEUTRAL. THE CAR THEN HAD PROBLEMS ACCELERATING. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS 2006 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH, ALL OF THE LIGHTS ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL, HEADLIGHTS AND BRAKE LIGHTS SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
I HAVE CONTACTED CHRYSLER CORP CUSTOMER SERVICE ABOUT A FEW OF THE SAFETY ISSUES I HAVE EXPERIENCED WITH MY CHRYSLER 300 LIMITED. NO HEIP! I HAVE EXPERIENCED THE GEAR SHIFT GETTING STUCK IN DRIVE. AFTER GOING ONTO A CHRYSLER FORUM WHERE MANY OTHER 300 CUSTOMERS EXPERIENCED THE SAME THING I FOUND A QUICK FIX TO ALLOW ME TO DRIVE THE CAR TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP USING A SCREW DRIVER. LONG STORY BUT YES I HAD TO STICK A SCREW DRIVE INTO THE GEAR BOX TO RELEASE THE CAR INTO DRIVE AND OUT REPAIR COST $175 I WAS INFORMED MY VIN WASN'T A PART OF THE RECALL! NEXT ISSUE THE COOLING FANS IN FRONT OF THE CAR. I WAS GETTING SOME FOOD AT DRIVE THRU. AS SOON AS I DRIVE IN LINE I HEARD A LOUD BANG ONE OF THE FANS MOUNTS BECAME LOOSE AND THE FAN BLADES HIT TO...
WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, ALL OF THE GAUGES ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL MALFUNCTIONED AND ALL OF THE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR SEVERAL YEARS. AT FIRST, IT WOULD HAPPEN AND THEN NOTHING FOR A FEW MONTHS. IT HAS BEGUN TO HAPPEN MORE FREQUENTLY. IT HAS OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES IN THE PAST FEW DAYS. *JS
WHILE DRIVING APP 55 MPH AT APP 8PM AT NIGHT MY CARS LIGHTS AND ALL THE DASH LIGHTS WENT OUT AND THE CAR COMPLETELY STALLED. I WAS ABLE TO TURN ON FLASHERS AND COAST THE CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I SAT THERE FOR SEVERAL MINUTES AND THEN THE CAR RESTARTED. FORTUNATELY THERE WAS NO ONE FOLLOWING BEHIND ME. I HAVE BEEN OUT OF TOWN ON BUSINESS AND USED A COMPANY CAR. UPON MY RETURN I TOOK MY CAR TO OUR LOCAL SHOP TODAY. THEY WERE UNABLE TO DETECT ANY PROBLEMS, HOWEVER SHARED AN ARTICLE STATING MORE THAN 150,000 CHRYSLER OWNERS HAVE HAD SIMILAR TROUBLE. THEY CONTACTED THE NEAREST DODGE/CHRYSLER DEALER IN ABERDEEN WASHINGTON WHO OFFERED NO HELP OR INFORMATION. THEY COULD GIVE NO REASON FOR THE INCIDENT. WE HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY RECALL NOTICE, NOR INFORMATION REGARDING ANY POSSIBLE PROBLEMS. HOW SHOULD I PROCEED? I AM UNABLE...
MY CAR STALLS AFTER FILL UP, ONLY AFTER I FILL IT UP DOES IT STALL NOT AT ANY OTHER TIME.! ALSO MY AIR BAG LIGHT HAS BEEN COMING ON, AFTER I DRIVE CAR FOR AWHILE IT WILL GO OFF, BUT THEN IT MIGHT LIGHT UP AGAIN AFTER DRIVING. VERY ERRATIC! THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TESTING, HOWEVER CONTACT WAS UNAWARE OF THE NEEDED REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. WHILE DRIVING ON MORE THAT ONE OCCASION MY KNEE ACCIDENTALLY BUMPED THE IGNITION KEY AND TURNED THE CAR WHILE MOVING I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE CAR WITHOUT INCIDENTS. AFTER REFUELING THE CAR STALLED MULTIPLE TIMES LEAVING ME STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET DURING RUSH HOUR. THIS INCIDENT HAS HAPPEN 4 TIMES IN THE LAST 4 WEEKS. *TR
I'M WRITING THIS BECAUSE I BELIEVE THAT THESE 300S WITH HEMIS ARE DEATH TRAPS WAITING TO HAPPEN AND STRONGLY FEEL THAT A RECALL IS NECESSARY. IT'S HAPPENED ABOUT 8 TIMES SINCE WE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE IN JULY, 2013 BUT THE LATEST WAS LAST WEEK, SATURDAY, MARCH 8, 2014 AT ABOUT 11:30PM. MY HUSBAND, MY 6 MO BABY, AND MYSELF HAD JUST FILLED UP THE GAS TANK ON OUR WAY HOME. WE WERE MAKING A RIGHT TURN OUT OF THE GAS STATION AND ONTO THE MAIN ROAD, WHEN THE CAR WENT COMPLETELY DEAD. AFTER FILLING CAR IT STALLED AS PULLING AWAY FROM FUEL ISLAND,RESTARTED DROVE 1/8 MI TO STOP SIGN ,STALLED RESTARTED ,DID THIS 4 TIMES IN A ROW ,DID NOT TRUST CAR FOR PLANNED TRIP,USED OTHER CAR. I WAS DRIVING THE CAR AND THE HEADLIGHTS SHUT OFF, DASH LIGHTS WENT OUT AND WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASH STARTED LIGHTING UP AND BLINKING ON THE DASH. IN ADDITION, THE GAUGES ALL DROPPED TO ZERO AND THEN RETURNED AFTER A FEW SECONDS. EVERYTHING RETURNED TO NORMAL AFTER A FEW SECONDS EXCEPT THE HEADLIGHTS. THE HEADLIGHTS RETURNED WHEN SWITCHED TO ON INSTEAD OF AUTO (IT WAS DARK OUTSIDE). THIS ALL HAPPENED WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION AT 60MPH. AFTER THE CAR WAS PARKED AND ENGINE SHUT DOWN, I RESTARTED IT AND THE HEADLIGHTS WORKED PROPERLY IN THE AUTO SETTING AGAIN. THIS PROBLEM REPLICATED ITSELF 2 WEEKS AFTER THE FIRST INCIDENT. AGAIN, HEADLIGHTS SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING IN THE DARK. *TR
AS I WAS DRIVING MY CAR SHUT-OFF AND STARTED BACK UP ON IT'S OWN WHEN I WAS STARTING FROM A RED LIGHT. GOING UP THE NEXT HILL IT DID IT AFTER STOPPING AT A STOP SIGN. OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS IT WOULD DO THIS AT DIFFERENT TIMES AND DIFFERENT SPEEDS. AT TIMES IT WOULD NOT START BACK UP ON IT'S OWN I HAD TO TURN THE KEY. EVENTUALLY, IT STARTING SHUTTING OFF AT THE GARAGE I SENT IT TO WHILE BEING RUN ON MACHINES. IT TURNED OUT TO BE A COMPUTER PROBLEM THAT REQUIRED A NEW COMPUTER BE PUT IN. I AM FILING THIS INCIDENT BECAUSE FOR THE 2007 MODEL OF THE SAME CAR THERE WAS A RECALL AND FREE REPLACEMENT OF THE COMPUTER. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY AN CHRYSLER MAINTENANCE WORKER THAT THE REASON THE 2007 WAS COVERED WAS THAT THE SUB-CONTRACTOR FOR THAT YEAR WAS PARTICIPATING...
I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK AND ALL A SUDDEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR SHUT DOWN AND THE RPM DROPPED. I COULDN'T STEER OR ANYTHING. THERE WAS NO WARNING OR NOTHING LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO DRIFT SLOWLY TO THE SIDE AND THERE WASN'T NO SERIOUS ACCIDENT. I RESTARTED MY CAR AND IT DROVE NORMALLY AFTER THIS INCIDENT BUT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYED ON THEN AGAIN TODAY ON THE 24TH OF DECEMBER I WAS DRIVING TO THE STORE AND THE SAME THING HAPPEN BUT AGAIN GOOD THING I WAS IN THE FAR RIGHT LANE TO PULL OVER...IM NOT A ROCKET SCIENTIST BUT THIS ISN'T SAFE TO DRIVE MY CAR AND ESPECIALLY WHILE I HAVE MY KIDS IN THE CAR, SOMETHING BAD CAN HAPPEN. *TR
I WAS DRIVING ON THE OFF-RAMP OF A FREEWAY AND MY CAR ABRUPTLY STALLED. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS OR ANYTHING. AFTER SEVERAL TRIES, MY CAR STARTED UP AGAIN. APPROXIMATELY 2 MONTHS LATER, THE SAME THING HAPPENED WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. THIS TIME, IT TOOK APPROXIMATELY 20 MINUTES FOR MY CAR TO START UP AGAIN. *TR
OUR CHRYSLER 300C HAS STOPPED RUNNING WHILE DRIVING AT LEAST 10 TIMES OVER THE LAST YEAR OR SO. ON FREEWAY AND CITY STREETS. IT USUALLY STARTS BACK UP ONCE YOUR STOPPED. MY WIFE IS AFRAID TO DRIVE IT ANYMORE. IT IS A VERY SCARY SITUATION. NO ENGINE, NO PS AND NO BRAKES. NO CODE OR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. EVERYONE I HAVE TALKED TO WITH A 300 HAS HAD THE SAME PROBLEM, NO MATTER WHAT THE YEAR OR ENGINE. LIKE MOST THERE IS NO SENSE TAKING IT TO DEALER. THEY JUST SAY NO CODE AND GIVE YOU SOME BS STORY ABOUT WHAT CAUSED IT. NO COME UP WITH A FIX. CHRYSLER KNOWS THEY HAVE A PROBLEM AND WON'T MAN UP AND FIX IT. THEY WOULD RATHER SOMEONE DIE FIRST TO SAVE MONEY. IT HAS TO BE IN THE COMPUTER. JUST LIKE TOYOTA AND THEIR FLY BY WIRE THROTTLE THAT WAS CAUSING...
AFTER FILLING UP ENGINE COMPLETE SHUT DOWN , AFTER PULLING INTO INTERSECTION. PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED ABOUT 6 TIMES. VERY CAREFUL NOT TO FILL TANK FULL. AS WE HAVE RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM , AND FIND THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE WITH THE SAME COMPLAINT. VERY DANGEROUS. DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO BECAUSE, CHRYSLER DOESN'T SEEM TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM.. ALL EQUIPMENT ON THE DASHBOARD SHUT DOWN FOR ABOUT 2 MINUTES. EVEN THOUGH I KNOW I WAS GOING SOMEWHERE AROUND 55 MPH, AND TRYING TO STAY WITH TRAFFIC, I COULD NOT TELL MY SPEED, THE RPM READ ZERO, THE GAS LEVEL READ EMPTY, AND MY SPEED READ ZERO. THEN ALL THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS CAME ON AND ALL WAS NORMAL AGAIN. THIS REPEATED MAYBE 4-5 TIMES IN A ROW. OFF FOR ABOUT 2 MINUTES, ON FOR MAYBE A MINUTE, THEN BACK OFF. WE HAVE EXPERIENCED ALL OF THIS HAPPENING MOMENTARILY (MAYBE LASTING A SECOND) SINCE WE BOUGHT THE CAR USED 1 1/2 YEARS AGO. DEALERSHIP COULD NOT GET IT TO HAPPEN FOR THEM, SO THEY COULD DO NOTHING FOR IT. THIS ISSUE HAS NOW ESCALATED TO A POINT THAT I FEEL IT COULD BE DANGEROUS IF IT CONTINUES, OR GETS WORSE. *TR
EXTERIOR LIGHTS FLICKER ON AND OFF EVERYDAY WHILE I'M DRIVING EVEN THOUGH THE LIGHT KNOB IS IN THE OFF POSITION THE LIGHTS WILL GO ON AND OFF(EXTERIOR LIGHTING AND DASH LIGHTS). HER PROBLEM SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN SOLVED. MINE CONTINUES TO BE A PROBLEM. THE FRESNO CHRYSLER DEALER TOLD ME THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS PROBLEM, ALTHOUGH THERE ARE MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS OF THIS DISCUSSED ON THE INTERNET. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE AND THE BRAKES DID NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY DURING THE FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,500 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 38,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE CONTACT REMOVED THE RADIO DECK AND THEN NOTICED SPARKS AND SMOKE COMING FROM THE WIRING LOCATED BEHIND THE DECK. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WINDOWS WOULD NOT FUNCTION AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000.

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT AFTER PULLING OVER, SHE WAS UNABLE TO REMOVE THE VEHICLE FROM PARK AND BOTH THE TAIL AND BRAKE LIGHTS WERE MALFUNCTIONING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A PINCHED WIRE IN THE TRUNK WHICH CAUSED THE SHORTAGE. AS A RESULT, THE WIRING HARNESS WOULD NEED REPLACING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 65,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THE FAILURE AS AN ELECTRICAL FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. AFTER THE REPAIRS WERE MADE, THE VEHICLE WOULD DECELERATE INDEPENDENTLY AND THE ENGINE WOULD EXHIBIT AN ABNORMAL FLUCTUATION OF RPMS. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD ALSO ILLUMINATE SPORADICALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN ADVISED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL MODULE WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.

THE CONTACT PULLED OVER AND EXITED THE VEHICLE TO INVESTIGATE THE ISSUE. HE OBSERVED THAT THE WIRES WERE BURNING FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE TO THE REAR. HE CALLED THE DEALER TO ORDER A NEW WIRING HARNESS, BUT IT IS ON BACK ORDER. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 61,258 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 61,200.
TL* - THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300C. THE CONTACT'S TIRE PRESSURE INDICATOR LIGHTS BECAME ILLUMINATED ON THE DASHBOARD. THE INCIDENT OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING AT 35 MPH. WHEN THE DASHBOARD WARNING INDICATOR LIGHTS ARE LIT, THE VEHICLE STALLS. THE TIRE PRESSURE INDICATOR LIGHT FOR THE REAR TIRES HAS BEEN FAILING SINCE AUGUST OF 2006. THE ENTIRE DASH BOARD WARNING LIGHT SYSTEM HAS TURNED ON 2 TO 3 TIMES. THE TIRE PRESSURE INDICATOR LIGHT ILLUMINATES ON THE DASH BOARD AFTER DRIVING 10 MILES PER HOUR. *NM
I RECENTLY PURCHASED A NEW CHRYSLER 300M (LIMITED EDITION) 2006. WEEKS AFTER PURCHASING, THE ENGINE STALLS AND THEN RESUMES WHILE DRIVING; THE ENGINE SHUTS COMPLETELY OFF WHILE STOPPED; AND, THE ENGINE, AFTER STARTING IT ONCE IT HAS SHUT-OFF, WOULD NOT GO IN THE APPROPRIATE GEAR SHIFT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP 6 TIMES AND THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. I HAVE BEEN WITHOUT MY VEHICLE CLOSE TO 2-MONTHS. EVERY TIME THEY HAVE RETURNED MY VEHICLE, IT HAS TO BE RETURNED FOR THE SAME CAUSE. *JB
I JUST PURCHASED A CHRYSLER 300C BACK IN JULY. I HAD TO RETURN TO THE DEALERSHIP 4 TIMES FOR THE EZ-UP WINDOW ON THE DRIVER SIDE MALFUNCTIONING. THEY STATED TO ME THAT CHRYSLER KNOWS ABOUT THE PROBLEM BUT DON'T KNOW HOW TO FIX IT. EVERY TIME THEY RESET THE COMPUTER, THE WINDOW WORKS FOR ABOUT 3 DAYS THEN STOPS WORKING. DT*: THE CONTACT STATED AFTER SHIFTING THE TRANSMISSION FROM PARK TO REVERSE, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS RELEASED AND THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED THE DEALERSHIP, THE COMPUTER STORED NO CODES AND THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. UPDATED 8/1/2006 - THE CONSUMER'S VEHICLE STARTED ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS A WEEK AFTER IT WAS PURCHASED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES FOR REPAIRS. THE RADIO WENT OUT THEN CAME BACK ON. THE ALL THE PANEL LIGHT WENT OUT. THE DEALER REPLACED THE CLUSTER. THE ESP BAS LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE DASH. THE DEALER REPLACED THE PARKING BRAKE SWITCH. THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW AUTO UP FUNCTION FAILED. THE DEALER CALIBRATED THE AUTO UP FUNCTION....
MY 2006 CHRYSLER 300 WITH 6800 MILES ON IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP TWICE FOR THE A/C AND HAS NOT YET BEEN FIXED. AFTER TRAVELING FOR A DISTANCE, A/C STOPS BLOWING COLD AIR. THE FIRST TIME IT WENT TO THE SHOP, THEY DID NOT DETECT ANYTHING AND TOLD ME TO BRING IT IN WHEN IT IS ACCRUING. THE SECOND TIME IT STOPPED, I DROVE STRAIGHT TO THE DEALER WITH IT NOT WORKING AND THEY STILL TOLD ME IT IS NOT GIVING ANY CODE TO TELL THEM WHAT IS WRONG SO THEY CANT FIX ANYTHING. THEY AGREED WITH ME THAT SOMETHING IS WRONG, BUT THEY COULD NOT DETERMINE IT. SO I HAVE A NEW CAR WITH AN A/C THAT JUST STOPS WHEN IT WANTS, AND I AM JUST SUPPOSED TO DEAL WITH IT AS THEY WILL SAY. *NM
I PURCHASE A 300 TOURING ON NOV 5 2006. THIS WAS A BRAND NEW CAR WITH ONLY 4 MILE. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON THE FIRST TIME ON NOV 17. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND TOOK THE CAR IN. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY DID A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND DIDN'T SEE ANY CODE INDICATING THAT ANYTHING WAS WRONG. THE LIGHT WAS RESET AND THE CAR WAS RETURN TO ME. I WAS TOLD THAT WHEN THE TECH STARTED THE CAR HE DIDN'T SEE THE LIGHT ON. I WAS TOLD TO TAKE THE CAR HOME. WHEN THE PROBLEM STARTED THE CAR HAD LESS THAN 1500 MILES.
