DID MEET WITH SERVICE DIRECTOR BUT HAVE NOT HAD ANY RESPONSE. NO POWER WHEN IT HAPPENS.. ALL INSTANCES ARE ON CITY PAVED STREETS. RESTARTS ON FIRST TRY. CHECK FUEL LIGHT COMES ON BUT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DOES NOT. DEALER HAS WORKED ON IT 3 TIMES AND REPLACED PARTS BUT IT HAS NOT FIXED THE PROBLEM. THEY REALLY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS GOING ON.

HAS ONLY HAPPENED WITH A PARTIAL TANK OF GAS-NEVER WITH A FULL TANK - REMAINING MILEAGE HAS BEEN BETWEEN 75 AND 123 MILES LEFT. HAS ONLY HAPPENED AT SLOW SPEED. DEALER HAS WORKED ON IT 4 TIMES EACH TIME CLOSING TICKET AS FIXED EXCEPT FOR THE LAST TIME . HAVE TALKED TO SERVICE DIRECTOR ABOUT PROBLEM WITH NO RESULTS. VEHICLE HAS 123000 MILES.
ON MY WAY TO WORK I STOPPED AND PUT $15 DOLALRS IN THE TANK I WAS JUST BELOW A HALF TANK NOW. I DROVE ROUGHLY 5-10MILES AND WHEN I WAS DRIVING AROUND 30MPH THE OIL CAN LIGHT CAME ON AND THEN MY STEERING GOT TIGHT AND BRAKES GOT TIGHT. IT WAS LIKE THEY WENT OUT. MY CAR ENGINE THEN SHUT OFF AND I COASTED TO THE SHOULDER THE BEST I COULD. THIS ALMOST CAUSED A LARGE ACCIDENT. I TRIED STARTING THE CAR IMMEDIATELY AFTER IT MADE NOISE BUT WOULD NOT START A COUPLE MINUTES LATER I STARTED IT AND THE CAR STARTED FINE.

AFTER WORK I WAS DRIVING HOME AS USUALL DOWN A VERY BUSY MAIN ROAD WITH ALOT OF TRAFFIC AND LIGHT CONTROLLED INTERSECTIONS. I WAS ABOUT 25 MIN AWAY FROM HOME WHEN I WAS BEGINNIGN TO MAKE A LANE CHANGE AND EXCELLERATE OVER TO THE RIGHT LANE. AS I BEGAN TO GET OVER WITHOUT A WARNING OR NOTICE MY POWER STEERING WENT OUT AND I WAS UNABLE TO TURN MY WHEEL WITHOUT EXCESSIVE FORCE. IN ADDITION, WHILE IN PARK, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY STARTED AND JERKED AND THE ENGINE AND STEERING WHEEL MADE ABNORMAL NOISES. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED AND AS CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF, THE KEY FAILED TO TURN AND REMAINED IN THE ON POSITION. ALL INTERIOR LIGHTS FLICKERED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CAR STARTING STUMBLING AND STALLING AT RANDOM TIMES, AND SPEEDS, ONCE WHILE DRIVING AT 80 MPH THE RPMS DROPPED TO 0 AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FLASHED; IT ALWAYS JUST FLASHES. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER 3 TIMES AND THEY SAY NO CODES NO PROBLEM, THE FORTH TIME IT HAPPENED I GOT A CODE U0100 AND P0700. WITH MY SCAN TOOL BUT AGAIN DEALER SAYS THEY CANT FIND ANYTHING WRONG AND THERE IS NO CODES. WHEN ASKED HOW WAS...

THE ENGINE STARTED TICKING NOTICEABLY ON THE UPPER RIGHT SIDE OF THE ENGINE. THE NOISE WAS TYPICAL OF A LIFTER OR WORN ROCKER ARM. ABOUT A MONTH EARLIER THE CAR HAD A SHIFTING PROBLEM WITH THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION ON AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY UNDER ACCELERATION. THE CAR WAS CHECKED FOR THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEM AT A CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP BUT NOTHING WAS FOUND AFTER DIAGNOSTIC TESTING WAS COMPLETED THEY DID ADVISE THEY FOUND THE STRUT BUSHINGS WERE IN NEED OF REPLACEMENT. AFTER HEARING THE ENGINE NOISES THE CAR WAS AGAIN TAKEN TO THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP. BOTH SIDES OF THE ENGINE HAD THE ROCKER ARM ASSEMBLIES REPLACED. THE BUSHINGS FOR THE STRUTS WERE REPLACED. BOTH OF THE TIE ROD ENDS WERE FOUND TO BE IN NEED OF REPLACEMENT WHILE THEY WERE TRYING TO REALIGN THE FRONT END. THE ALIGNMENT WAS NEEDED AFTER REPLACING THE STRUT BUSHINGS. THE CAR WAS WELL MAINTAINED AND OIL CHANGES...
THE CAR LOST POWER AND JUST STOPPED..NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR ANYTHING. LOCKED ENGINE. I ALWAYS DID OIL CHANGES AND TOOK GOOD CARE OF THE CAR. NOT ONLY DID THE ENGINE LOCK BUT THE TIRE RODS ON THE CAR KEPT BREAKING CAUSING MORE ISSUES.. *TR

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD TURN FREELY TO THE LEFT AND RIGHT WHEN THE KEY WAS NOT IN THE IGNITION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES, BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,179.
I HAVE A 2006 CHRYSLER 300 LIMITED THE TIE ROD ENDS GOES FAST LIKE EVERY 9 TO 10 MONTHS I CHECK THE CAR REGULARLY AN I NOTICE THAT EACH WHEELS I JACKED UP HAD MOVEMENT SO I REPLACE THEM AGAIN BEFORE IT GOT WORSE ER NEVER HAD A CAR WITH THIS PROBLEM TIE ROD END LAST SOME TIMES FOR 9 YEARS OR SO IF YOUR IN THE COUNTRY OR CITY AN NO POT HOLES THIS PROBLEM NEED TO BE ADDRESSED. *TR
I RECENTLY HAD NEW TIRES MOUNTED ON MY VEHICLE AND WAS TOLD THAT THE TIRE RODS WERE WORN BADLY. I JUST PASSED 42,000 MILES ON MY VEHICLE. I WAS TOLD BY MY MECHANIC THAT THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE ON MANY CHRYSLER 300 MODELS AROUND THE SAME MILEAGE. THERE ARE EVEN TWO OPTIONS FOR REPAIR. YOU CAN HAVE THE TIE RODS REPLACED WITH STANDARD EQUIPMENT BUT WILL MOST LIKELY HAVE THE SAME ISSUE OR CHRYSLER CAME OUT WITH AN UPGRADED REPLACEMENT WITH A LIFETIME WARRANTY. OBVIOUSLY CHRYSLER KNOWS THAT THIS IS AN ISSUE AND SHOULD BE AN ACTUAL RECALL. I WILL BE HAVING THE TIE RODS REPLACED TOMORROW. *TR
I HAVE A 2006 CHRYSLER 300 AND ON NOV 24 2010 MY TIE ROD END BROKE AND HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE SHOP FOR REPAIRS, IT HAS BEEN OTHERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH THESE TYPE OF CARS AND I THINK THIS SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO BY SOMEONE. *TR
AT 36,000 MILES THE INNER TIE RODS ARE WORN AND VERY LOOSE. OUTTERS ARE WORN BUT NOT AS BADLY. CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY (OVER 36 MONTHS). WHEN I CALLED THE DEALER THEY SAID THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AND THEY HAVE SEEN IT HAPPEN AT LESS THAN 36,000 MILES. FAILURE CONSEQUENCES WILL BE COMPLETE LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL AND ACCIDENTS. THIS A SERIOUS AND DANGEROUS MANUFACTURING DEFECT AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED IMMEDIATELY. *TR
THE STRUT TENSION ARMS AND TIE ROD ENDS HAD TO BE REPLACED AT 68,000 MILES. THEY WERE RUSTED DUE TO THERE WAS NO NIPPLE TO LUBRICATE THEM. THE MECHANIC SAID IN ANOTHER 60,000 MILES THE SAME THING WILL HAPPEN. THIS WAS AN $800 REPAIR. *TR
TIE RODS FAILED AT 31,512. *TR
TOOK CAR IN FOR OIL CHANGE AND TO HAVE FRONT END SHAKING CHECKED OUT. WAS INFORMED THAT THE FRONT TIE ROD WAS DEFECTIVE. SINCE I HAD AN EXTENDED CHRYSLER WARRANTY I TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR AND FOUND THAT IT NEEDED REPLACEMENT BUT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY. THIS IS A 2006 VEHICLE WITH UNDER 50,000 MILES. NEVER HAD A TIE ROD GO BAD IN ANYTHING ELSE I'VE OWNED--AND IT LOOKS LIKE I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE. *TR
