Defect: General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2016-2019 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana vehicles. One or both of the rear-quarter windows may be tempered glass instead of laminated glass. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 226, "Ejection Mitigation."
Consequence: Tempered glass increases the risk of injury in the event of a side impact or rollover crash.

Defect: General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2016-2018 Chevrolet Express and GMC Sierra vehicles equipped with a single, manual, rear climate control module (CCM). If the temperature is set to maximum heat or the mode knob is set to maximum floor vent and an electrical short occurs, components within the CCM may overheat.
Consequence: If the CCM overheats, there is an increased risk of a fire in the vehicle's headliner.

Most Recent Complaints
The ABS/Traction control system has malfunctioned 3 separate times since purchase of the vehicle in 2017. The indicated fault is code C0110-04, Pump Motor Circuit Open. This fault has required the replacement of the Brake Control Computer (GM part# 19435407) and the Hydraulic Control Module (GM part# 25879231). The first malfunction occurred in October 2020 at 48,594 miles, the second was November 2022 at 91,621 miles with the most recent fault in August 2024 at 147,411 miles. The fault has not affected the ability to stop the vehicle, but it does render the ABS/Traction Control System inoperative. The vehicle is a travel van with the majority miles being highway miles (very little city driving)
The contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet Express. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 35 MPH, the ABS inadvertently engaged, and the vehicle pulled to the left side. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed and determined that the electronic brake control module assembly needed to be repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 136,000.
