I was driving my car like usual and I almost reached home and my windshield vipers stopped working. I parked my car and checked it and the wipers are not working.
ONE OF THE WIPER ARMS HAS FAILED ENTIRELY. THE DEALERSHIP WE PURCHASED IT FROM (USED) ADVISED IT WAS REPAIRED, BUT IT HAS FAILED NONETHELESS. OUR 18 YEAR OLD SON DRIVES THIS CAR AND IT IS NOT SAFE. BASED ON OTHER INTERACTIONS WITH THE DEALERSHIP, WE BELIEVE THEY MAY HAVE "FAKED" THE ACTUAL REPAIR...OR THEY REPLACED THE POSSIBLY DEFECTIVE PART WITH AN ACTUAL DEFECTIVE PART. WE WANT IT INSPECTED, AND IF OLD OR DEFECTIVE, HAVE IT REPLACED AS IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN.
Was driving thru Atlanta at night in a rainstorm and without any warning my passenger side wiper totally quit. The driver side wiper was all I had. I had to cautiously keep driving in the very center of Atlanta. I do have the complete motor parts as I replaced it myself after buying the part from a local GM dealer. I have had no dealer inspection yet because I just heard about the recall on the 2014 and 2015 wiper recall. this happened in April of 2021.
On Feb 14 2021 took car in to a Chevy dealership to have 2 recalls done . Tailpipe emission oxygen sensor, Front wiper transmission corrosion failure . Notice on 8/29/2021 while on a road trip needed to clear bugs off front windshield no windshield fluid was coming out , so I feel the front wiper transmission corrosion failure was not repaired . Will contact dealership to have issue checked out with a different location.
Hello I had an open recall for the wiper transmission replacement. I took my vehicle to Don Brown Chevy in st.louis missouri. They where suppose to replace the wiper transmission. Mine failed while driving. Since my car had an open recall I should of received a replacement one installed. This dealer told me they did the recall and everything was good to go. Well they lied they did not complete my recall. I had to go buy one from the local parts place and install it my self. the new design comes with a rain deflector baffle. the original one in my car still had the paint lines on the wiper transmission from the factory install. They lied about doing the recall and endangered my life.
WHILE GETTING READY TO LEAVE WORK ONE DAY IT STARTED TO RAIN A BIT, SO I TRIED CUTTING ON MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS AND NOTHING HAPPENED, IT WOULDN'T MOVE AT ALL, SO I TRIED PULLING OVER AND RESTARTING THE CAR AND THEY STILL WOULDN'T WORK. I BOUGHT MY EQUINOX IN 2018, THE WIPER PASSENGER SIDE STOPPED WORKING THEY STATED THE RECALL WAS DONE IN 2017 I DIDN'T OWN THE VECHILE AND 295.00 TO FIX IT IS WRONG. ITS ONLY BEEN 2 YEARS IT STOPPED WORKING THE FIRST MONTH I HAD IT THEY FIXED IT. NOW ITS NOT WORKING AT ALL PASSENGER SIDE. NO WARRANTIES OR ANYTHING ON THE VECHILE AT THIS TIME. I WAS DRIVING TO THE STORE WHEN IT STOPPED WORKING PRE COVID-19 HAD AN APPT HOWEVER HAD TO CANCEL SO TRIED TO GET TO TAKEN CARE OF WHICH IT SHOULDN'T COST ME.

DRIVING MY 2013 CHEVY EQUINOX WITH UNDER 60,000 MILES DURING RAIN/SNOW AND WIPERS QUIT UNEXPECTEDLY CLOSE TO HOME. HVAC BUTTONS BECAME INOP. THEREFORE, NO DEFROST. VERY DANGEROUS. NO HEAT. NO A/C. NO REAR DEFROST. BACKLIGHT BUTTONS YES ARE ILLUMINATED. I REPLACED TWO FUSES, NO CHANGE. I REPLACED THE HVAC BLOWER MOTOR RESISTER, NO CHANGE. NO DEFROST IS VERY DANGEROUS ON MY 2013 CHEVY EQUINOX LT 4 CYL 2.4L. THE BATTERY IS 10 MONTHS OLD. I DISCONNECTED THE ENTIRE BATTERY FOR 15 MINUTES. NO LUCK. YES THE ENTIRE RADIO WORKS FINE. AUDIO IS GOOD. HOWEVER, THE POPUP ON THE RADIO SCREEN WHICH REFLECTS THE FAN SPEED MOTOR CHANGES IS NOT SHOWING UP WHEN I ADJUST THE FAN SPEED.

SAID BILL IN WRONG NAME, BUT IN HUSBAND NAME AS NOTED. THEY DECLINED OTHER DOCUMENTATION. SAID PART NUMBER WRONG; I HAD NO CONTROL OVER PART NUMBER, JUST NEEDED WIPERS TO WORK. I AM STILL OUT OVER $300. HOW CAN GM CLAIM THEY ARE REIMBURSING?

WIPERS BECAME INOPERATIVE WHILE DRIVING IN A RAIN STORM. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO PHILLIPS CHEVROLET WHO ADVISED THE PROBLEM WAS THE WIPER TRANSMISSION WHEREBY ONE OF THE ARMS BROKE OFF AND CAUSED THE ASSEMBLY TO STOP WORKING. THE CHARGE WAS $420.02 TO REPLACE THE WIPER ASSEMBLY. THE DEALER ADVISED THE MOTOR FOR THE WIPER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED WHENEVER THE TRANSMISSION GETS REPLACED. AFTERWARD, I RECEIVED NOTICE FROM A FELLOW EQUINOX OWNER WHO ADVISED THE WIPER PROBLEM IS WELL KNOWN, AND THE ISSUE IS UNDER A RECALL UNDER GENERAL MOTORS #25302. IF IT IS A RECALL, WHY THEN WAS I CHARGED $420 BY THE CHEVROLET DEALER???

BEFORE RECALL ON WIPERS FOR CHEVY 2013 EQUINOX. HAD ISSUE WITH WIPES. FRONT WIPERS STOPPED WORKING DURING RAIN STORM WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. TOOK VEHICLE INTO CARMAX DEALERSHIP WHERE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED, MECHANICS FIXED ISSUE. ABOUT A MONTH LATER I RECIEVED LETTER ABOUT RECALL. SHORTLY AFTER WIPERS FAILED FOR A SECOND TIME AGAIN DURING RAIN STORM WHILE DRIVING. TOOK VEHICLE TO LOCAL CHEVY DEALERSHIP WHERE I WAS TOLD, THAT NO SOLUTION HAD BEEN APPROVED BY CHEVY AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR REPAIRS. ALSO IF THE REPAIRS THAT THEY SUGGESTED WERE NOT THE SAME AS THE ONE CHEVY APPROVES THEN I WOULD NOT BE REIMBURSED. I DECLINED REPAIRS, AND TRIED CONTACTING CHEVY CUSTOMER SERVICE. AFTER MANY PHONE CALLS, BETWEEN CHEVY, CARMAX, AND LOCAL DEALERSHIP, NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. CHEVY HAS SAID THAT I HAVE VOIDED RECALL BY HAVING CARMAX MECHANICS WORK ON IT....
