Car stalled on highway after picking up my children from school. Purchased this car in March 2021 from a used dealership. After the stalling incident, the car started back up. Since that incident the car has been having a rough Idle and stalls when parked, stopped at a light, stopped at a stop sign and also stalls while letting pedestrians cross the street. I have also been having trouble with oil consumption. I have receipts, and I am getting oil changes every 2-3 months with synthetic oil. Oil needs to be changed way before mileage and also before date due for a change. Synthetic oil is supposed to last up to 6,000 miles or every 6 months. I only use my car for travels to work, bringing children to and from school, and travels for necessity purposes only. All my travels are within 5 miles of my home. The car...
The oil consumption in the engine for general use is by far way more than average,you don't even get to the" time to change your oil" notice from the vehicle before most of your oil is gone from your motor.The oil light never comes on to inform you of the low oil in the motor but with the low oil engine sensors for cam position light the check engine light and after awhile the vehicle goes into what I would call limp mode with acceleration decreased which would be dangerous at highway speeds if it happened then
My engine constantly overheats and burns through engine oil at an extremely high rate. This issue has caused my timing chain/belt to fail and render the car useless without replacing the entire engine. The constant overheating added undue stress to my timing belt/chain leading to its failure, and now me without a car. The overheating had been an ongoing issue.
2012 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. CONSTITUENT WRITES REGARDING ENGINE FAILURE DUE TO EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION, THE CONSUMER WAS UNAWARE OF A RECALL DUE TO PURCHASING THE VEHICLE USED. THE REPAIRS ESTIMATED TO BE NEARLY $8000.00 WHICH IS THE PRICE OF THE VEHICLE'S WORTH. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONATACTED, BUT DENIED RESPONSIBILITY DUE TO THE CLASS ACTION SUIT BEING EXPIRED. HOWEVER, THEY DID OFFER TO PAY 1/3 OF THE COST, WHICH LEFT THE CONSUMER WITH THE $8000.00 REMAINING BALANCE.
Purchased a 2012 Chevrlet Equinox and a couple of months later had to start monitoring for oil comsumption.
Engine makes rough idle noise when stopped or going slow. Took in for an oil change(I assumed it was way over due) I was then told, I still had over 3k miles to go. When they checked my fluid they found it was 3.5 liters short. It’s consuming too much oil in a short amount of time.
While trying to back up my engine stalls, engine stalls switching into drive and engine stalls while stopped at stop lights or stop signs. Was almost in several accidents today due to engine constantlystalling out. Check engine light came on reading code : P0010-00
Engine light went on in March 2019. I took it to dealer 4.5 quarts low on oil. Oil light never went on. OnStar report said no issues with car. Only 4000 miles since last oil change. Repairs cost me almost $1800. I was told to bring car back after 1000 miles and they’d check it again to see if car was still over consuming oil. 1000 miles later it was still over consuming oil. They repaired it this time at no cost to me. Then in April 2021 my car started making a noise and I took it to the dealer. They said I needed a new engine because my car was still over consuming oil. That cost me $4300. GM picked up an additional $3700. This was a known issue and GM did nothing.
Vehicle idles rough (low) when at stop lights and stalls out. I just bought it a month ago.
Gauges- oil light does not turn on, when the vehicle is low in motor oil. Which causes internal engine failure, which include, but not limited: timing belts to piston wear. Vehicle was in highway speed and lost vehicle power, which caused safety issues for my vehicle and vehicles behind me. Vehicle also has braking and transmission issues; at full stop on a hill and putting the transmission in "N"eutral the vehicle rolls forward, even when the brakes are fully applied or putting the vehicle back in park.

The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic and the spark plugs, timing belt, and some other unknown engine-related parts were replaced however, the failure persisted. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.
The contact owns a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, depressing the accelerator pedal the vehicle was slow to respond. The check engine warning indicator light was illuminated. The engine reduced power message was displayed. The vehicle was taken twice to the local dealer within two years who diagnosed the accelerator pedal sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 10,000.
The contact owns a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that her engine would burn excessive oil without warning while driving at various speeds. The contact called her dealer and was informed that her vehicle was out of warranty. The contact stated that while her daughter was driving at an unknown rate of speed, the vehicle shut off. The contact was uncertain if any warning lights illuminated prior to the failure. The contact had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic where they diagnosed the vehicle with engine failure. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.
The vehicle began to consume oil at an alarming rate (at least a quart per week). When driving on the highway with two toddler children In the backseat of my car, the vehicle began to shake and I lost the ability to accelerate. The engine completely malfunctioned (blew) and the car became inoperable at that point. I had to cross three lanes of highway traffic to get to the side of the road and was doing so at 15 mph when the engine blew. It appears that this is a known issue with GM and there’s contradicting information about legal settlements. My vehicle also shows 0 recalls, which is also confusing because I have the understanding that GM was court ordered to recall affected vehicles. I’m unclear why my vehicle is not part of this recall. In the meantime, my vehicle sits on the side of the highway.
Excessive oil consumption. Constantly have to add approx 4qts of oil weekly on top of regular oil change. Mechanic stated GM recognized the issue but will not do anything to correct.
I purchased a 2012 Chevy Equinox in May of 2020, within eight months the water pump went out, after having three sensors within engine failed causing the stabilitrak indicator light started flashing, causing the engine to power down and not allow the vehicle to go over 35mph. Once I was able to take the vehicle to the dealership, I was told that three sensors within the engine went bad. This repair cost $2100 and now the vehicle is excessive having oil consumption issues, oil level indictor warning light is not working, I am constantly placing about 4 QT of oil within my vehicle every other fill up. Prior to having the oil changed within the time frame that is stated I need too.

The contact noticed that there was oil leaking on the ground. The dealer was made aware of the failure and performed an oil consumption test however, the vehicle was not repaired because it was over the warranty coverage. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to another dealer but offered no further assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 123,000.
Car kept stalling when slowing down on the highway in traffic on beltway from Maryland to home in Virginia. Very dangerous situation. Car was also sluggish when accelerating. Had to drive with two feet one on brake and gas pedal when slowing down to avoid car shutting off completely on the road. Dropped car off at dealer this evening. I checked and did not see any recalls. Can’t locate safety bulletins from Chevy as they are not published. Dealer said would look for any bulletins. Engine light is on. I read others with models from 2011 to 2015 having same issues for Chevy equinox.
JUST PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN OCTOBER OF 2020. HAD AN OIL CHANGE ON OCTOBER 26TH. ON NOVEMBER 25TH MY CAR WAS COMPLETELY OUT OF OIL. NO LEAKING, NO OIL SPOTS UNDER MY PARKING SPACE AND NO ENGINE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. FILLED OIL AND ON FEBRUARY 12TH MY ENGINE OIL WAS COMPLETELY GON. HAD ANOTHER OIL CHANGE AND IT IS NOW MAY 2ND AND I HAVE BOT DRIVEN MORE THAT 1000 MILES SINCE MY LAST OIL CHANGE YET I HAVE NO OIL AGAIN IN MY CAR AND NOW MY EMGINE IS STALLING OUT WHEN I ACCELERATE STATING MY CAMSHAFT POSITION ACTUATOR CIRCUIT (BANK 1) IS BAD WHICH IS DIRECLY LINKED TO RUNNING WITH BAD OR NO OIL.
YESTERDAY WAS PRETTY SCARY MY CAR CUT OFF EVERY 5 MINS WHILE DRIVING I HAD NO CONTROL. I'VE GOTTA EVERYTHING I COULD THINK OF FIXED..I WAS DRIVING DOWN GRATIOT & CONNER WHEN IT JUST STOPPED ON ME AT THE GREENLIGHT AS I WAS TURNING. NOW I AM REALLY SCARED TO GET BACK IN IT. THE CONTACT THEN TOOK THE VEHICLE TO BRYNER CHEVROLET, INC. (1750 THE FAIRWAY, JENKINTOWN, PA 19046, (215)402-7267) WHO REPLACED THE WATER PUMP HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED....
THE CAR WAS IN MOTION WHEN THE REDUCED ENGINE POWER SENSOR CAME ON AND SHUT DOWN. IT WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE TIMING CHAIN BROKE DUE TO LACK OF OIL DUE TO BENT PISTON RINGS AND THE OIL ESCAPING. ALL OF THAT WAS REPAIRED AND MAYBE 6 MONTHS LATER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS BACK ON. WE TOOK IT BACK TO THE SHOP AND IT WAS DECIDED THERE WAS EXTENSIVE DAMAGE DONE TO THE ENGINE BASED ON THE PREVIOUS OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE. THE ENGINE WAS THEN REPLACED AS WELL AS THE ECM BOARD DUE TO OIL BEING ALL OVER IT COMPLETELY RUINING THE SENSORS. WE ALSO HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE EVAP SYSTEM DUE LACK OF OXYGEN AND THE CAR CONSTANTLY CHOCKING OUT WHILE IN MOTION AND WHILE IDELING. I'VE BEEN TO PLENTY OF MECHANIC SHOPS AND THEY ALL HAVE SAID THE SAME THING ABOUT THE MOTOR AND THE ENGINE THAT'S IN THESE CARS THEY SAY THEY ARE NOT THE RIGHT ENGINES AND EVERYONE THAT HAVE THESE CARS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM I HAVE GOTTEN EVERYTHING FIXED AND MY ENGINE IS GOING BAD. I'VE BEEN TOLD THERE IS A RECALL FOR MY ENGINE & OR MOTOR. FOR THE LAST FEW WEEKS MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT GAVE BEEN ON THEN OUT THE BLUE MY STABILITRAK COMES ON NO ONE COULD FIGURE IT OUT I TOOK IT TO GM THEY DIDN'T FIND ANYTHING BESIDES SPARK PLUGS, OIL CHANGE ,FUEL FLUSH & ENGINE TOP CLEANER NOW THEY SAYING AFTER THE SPARKPLUGS GOT DONE IT CLEARED THAT CODE BUT NOW MY ENGINE IS BAD. 2012 CHEVORLET EQUINOX WITH 2.4L ENGINE WITH 123,525 MILES HAS MANY SAFETY CONCERNS. AS A RESULT OF THIS SPECIFIC ENGINE, THERE ARE ISSUES THAT AFFECT THE QUALITY OF SAFETY. THIS VEHICLE HAS EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION, NEEDS FREQUENT OIL REFILLING (AT LEAST 1QUART/WEEKLY), AND EMITS THE SMELL OF FUMES AND LINGERS WHEN VEHICLE IS ON. I AM NOT ABLE TO HAVE THE CAR ON STOPPED AT A STOPLIGHT OR SIMPLY WHILE IN PARK WITHOUT THE OVERWHELMING SMELL OF FUMES. THIS VEHICLE HAS COMPLETELY SHUT OFF ON TWO OCCASIONS: FIRST, IT SHUT OFF HALFWAY UP A RAMP LEADING OFF FROM THE HIGHWAY AND SECOND, DURING A RED LIGHT AT A BUSY INTERSECTION. THERE WERE VEHICLES DRIVING BEHIND AT BOTH TIMES. I NO LONGER FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE, NOR DO I THINK IT IS SAFE TO HAVE OTHERS IN THE CAR.
MY CAR RANDOMLY SHUTS OFF. IT STUTTERS, STALLS, JERKS, THEN DIES. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. WE HAVE REPLACED THE O2 SENSORS 3 TIMES, MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR, EXHAUST MANIFOLD, INTAKE AND EXHAUST VALVES TWICE, ALTERNATOR, BATTERY TWICE, SPARK PLUG PACKS TWICE, THROTTLE BODY, AND CATALYTIC CONVERTOR. MY CAR STILL STUTTERS, STALLS, ROUGH IDLES, JUMPS WHILE STOPPED AT RED LIGHTS, AND RANDOMLY SHUTS OFF WITH NO WARNING. RECENTLY IT HAS BEEN SLOW TO ACCELLERATE AS WELL. I WAS UNAWARE OF THE OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE UNTIL THIS WEEKEND. MY CAR SAYS IT IS 40% OIL, IT IS NOT DUE FOR ANOTHER OIL CHANGE FOR ANOTHER 1000 MILES. WHILE DRIVING MY 2012 CHEVY EQUINOX ON ILLINOIS, I-90 AT 70 MPH VEHICLE STARTED TO LOSE POWER. ENGINE COULD NOT ACCELERATE, STARTED SHAKING, THAN STALLED. PUTTING MYSELF & FAMILY AT RISK & IN DANGER. ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED OR REBUILT, HAD IT REBUILT. GM IS AWARE OF THEIR FAULTY ENGINES BUT CONTINUES TO SELL THESE CARS AND PUT FAMILIES AT RISK. THEY LOST A LAWSUIT BUT CONTINUE TO DENY CLAIMS & RESELL THE FAULTY VEHICLES. WAITED ALMOST A YEAR TO BE DENIED. THESE VEHICLES WITH THE FAULTY ENGINES NEED TO BE PULLED IMMEDIATELY & CONSUMERS NEED TO BE REIMBURSED FOR THE COST OF FIXING GM'S MISTAKES.
OIL CONSUMPTION HAD TO DO REPAIRS. TEAR DOWN AND REPLACEMENT OF PISTONS AND RINGS. MOTOR WAS KNOCKING AND SIEZING
I HAVE HAD MULTIPLE ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE IN QUESTION EVERY SINCE I DROVE IT OFF THE LOT. THE FIRST SIGNS OF TROUBLE STARTED WHEN THE CAR WOULD CUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING IN BUSY TRAFFIC. SUPPOSEDLY THE DEALER FIXED THE ISSUE, NOT SURE IF THAT WAS TRUE BECAUSE IT CONTINUED AS TIME WENT ON. SECONDLY I HAVE HAD SO MANY OIL CHANGES SINCE THE PURCHASE OF THIS VEHICLE AND THERE IS RECORD OF IT: 3/2019,05/2019,07/2019,(JOHNNY LONDOFF CHEVROLET UP UNTIL 05/2020),05/2020,10/2020,11/2020,02/2021... AND COUNTING. THE VEHICLE HAS A VERY HIGH OIL CONSUMPTION AND IS BRINGING ABOUT MORE ISSUES WITHIN THE VEHICLE. LASTLY BUT NOT LEAST THE SENSORS AND OTHER THINGS ARE BEING DAMAGED IN THE PROCESS. ON FEBRUARY 9TH 2021 AT 5:00PM WHEN IT WAS 6 DEGREES WITH SNOW COVERED ROAD OUTSIDE, I WAS DRIVING TO A APPOINTMENT ABOUT 10 MILES AWAY WHEN MY CAR STARTED TO ACT UP. NO WARNING LIGHTS OR BELLS WHEN OFF. I PULLED INTO A QUICK TRIP AND PUT SOME HEAT IN THINKING TO WAS A GAS LINE FREEZE UP. I WENT A SHORT 1.5 MILES TO MY APPT AND MY CAR DIED. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND NOTICE A LOT OF OIL COMING FROM MY CAR. AGAIN STILL NO WARNING LIGHTS OR BELLS WENT OFF. I TOWED IT TO HENDRICK CHEVROLET WHERE ALL THE OIL CHANGES AND ALL PREVIOUS WORK HAVE BEEN DONE. THE PROBLEM IS A REAR MAIN SEAL THAT IS BLOWN DUE TO THE PCV VALUE GETTING CLOGGED WITH WATER AND FREEZING CAUSING HIGH CRACK CASE PRESSURE, BLOWING THE REAR...
AS I WAS DRIVING ON THE EXPRESSWAY I EXPERIENCED MY VEHICLE LOSING ENGINE POWER. THE INDICATOR SHOWED THAT THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH OIL PRESSURE. I HAVE SINCE BEEN INFORMED THAT THE ENGINE HAS BLOWN. I RECENTLY HAD A PARTS RECALL AND TOOK IT IN,WITHIN A DAY MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON.I WENT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP TO LET THEM KNOW AND WAS TREATED WITH CONFRONTATION. NOW I HAVE NO CAR AND STILL PAYING ON THE LOAN.
WHENEVER I STOP AT A RED LIGHT OR STOP SIGN MY CAR STARTS TO VIOLENTLY ROCK BACK AND FORTH. NOT SIDE TO SIDE. THERE'S NO MOVEMENT IN THE CAR BUT YOU CAN VISIBLY SEE THE JERKING OF THE CAR. IT'S VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. LOTS OF PLACES CANNOT GET THE VEHICLE TO MIMIC THIS SO THEREFORE THEY CANNOT FIX THE ISSUE AND INSIST I'M CRAZY. OR THAT I'VE COME TO A STOP TO QUICKLY. WHICH I HAVE NOT. I HAVE EVEN WENT THE EXTRA MILE OF SLOWING DOWN WAY AHEAD OF TIME WHICH ALSO CAUSES THE ISSUE OF SAFETY. I HAVE MY TWO YEAR OLD WITH ME CONSTANTLY AND SHE JERKS AROUND IN HER CAR SEAT AT ALMOST EVERY STOP LIGHT:( I'M STARTING TO REGRET PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE.

VEHICLE HAD BEEN STALLING AT LEAST EVERY OTHER DAY FOR THE PAST COUPLE OF MONTHS WHEN STEPPING ON THE GAS TO GO. IT HAS TURNED OFF ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHEN COMING TO A STOP OR RED LIGHT AT THE POINT I STEP ON THE GAS. ADDITIONALLY, THE VEHICLES ENGINE SOUNDS FORCED AND TREMBLES ON IT OWN ON A DAILY BASIS, EVEN WHEN IN PARK MODE.
THE ENGINE EXPERIENCES EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION DUE TO FAULTY PISTON RINGS, THE PCV SYSTEM SUCKING OIL INTO THE INTAKE, AND THE OIL SPRAY JETS FORCING MORE OIL PAST THE FAULTY PISTON RINGS.
HIGH ENGINE OIL CONSUMPTION CAUSED BY EXCESSIVE PISTON RING WEAR LEADING TO TIMING BELT REPLACEMENT AND EVENTUAL COMPLETE ENGINE FAILURE AT 75,831 MILES
BURNS THROUGH OIL VERY QUICKLY HAVE TO PUT IN MORE THAN SHOULD OFTEN TO KEEP UP
MULTIPLE TIMES, I WOULD CHECK MY OIL PREPARING FOR LONG DRIVES, AND I WOULD HAVE TO ADD A QUART OR 2 OF OIL BECAUSE THE DIPSTICK WAS DRY. WHEN I ASKED ABOUT IT AT THE DEALERSHIP, FOX MOTOR'S NEGAUNEE, I WAS REPEATEDLY TOLD THEY WERE KNOWN FOR OIL CONSUMPTION. THE LAST TIME WE DROVE IT, WE WERE DRIVING IN MARQUETTE MI, WHEN STARTED TO SOUND AND RUN AS IF IT'S A DIESEL MOTOR AND THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED AND RAN LIKE IT WAS AT HALF POWER. IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC ON THE HIGHWAY NO HIGHER THAN 35 MPH. WE DROVE IT STRAIGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP; THEY BROUGHT IT IN FOR SERVICE AND DISCOVERED THE TIMING CHAIN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. ONCE INTO SERVICE THEY DISCOVERED THE RINGS HAD FAILED, IT ONLY HAD JUST OVER 84,000 MILES, WAY TOO SOON TO HAVE A TIMING BELT FAILURE, OR AN ENGINE FAILURE. AT...
DUE TO FAULTY PISTON RINGS. MY CAR BURNS OIL LIKE CRAZY. THEY HAVEN'T EVEN ISSUED OUT A RECALL OR EVEN BOUGHT BACK THESE CARS WITH THE FAULTY ENGINE. I COULD BE ON THE HIGHWAY AND MY ENGINE COULD GO OUT AT ANY MOMENT. I GO THROUGH MAYBE A QUART OF OIL PER WEEK. I'M A COLLEGE STUDENT AND CAN'T AFFORD TO FIX THIS ISSUE.
CAR HAD 90,000 MILES WHEN BOUGHT AND WITH IN TWO WEEKS IT BURNED 4 QRTS OF OIL HAVE ONLY HAD THE CAR A MONTH NOW JUST DID A OIL CHANGE A WEEK AGO AND IT'S DOWN 1.5 QRTS AND ONLY DROVE 700 MILES ON THIS OIL CHANGE

THE ENGINE IS BURNING OIL AND CONSUMING OIL WITH 4 QUARTS OVER 2,000 MILES. THE ENGINE OIL LIGHT IS ALSO NOT ILLUMINATING SHOWING THAT THE ENGINE IS LOW ON OIL. WHEN THIS OCCURS IT ALSO CAUSES THE CAR TO JUMP FORWARD WHILE STOPPED AND THE BRAKE ENGAGED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO HESITATE. THE CONTACT STATED NO WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED SHE WAS ABLE TO DRIVE TO HER RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESTART AND WAS TOWED TO THE LOCAL DEALER NEWBERRY MOTORS INC LOCATED AT 1227 NEWBERRY AVE, NEWBERRY, MI 49868, (906) 293-5104, TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 108,000.
IT HAS BEEN BURNING OIL SINCE I HAVE OWNED IT. IT ALSO SHAKES REAL BAD WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES. I HAVE BOUGHT NEW ROTORS AND PADS AND IT STILL SHAKES NO MATTER THE SPEED I'M GOING.
EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION STARTING AT BETWEEN 30-40K MILES. SOMETIME IN ABOUT 2016 OR 2017. STARTED RECEIVING SOME INFORMATION ABOUT SOME EXCESSIVE OIL PROBLEMS BUT THAT THERE WAS STILL A PENDING CLASSACTION SUIT IN PROGRESS AND THAT I DIDN'T NEED TO DO ANYTHING BECAUSE MY VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER ON 4/4/20 AND WAS TOLD THAT AN EXTENDED "SPECIAL COVERAGE" WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED ON 9/20/2019. I EXPLAINED THAT I HAVE BEEN ADDING UP TO 5 QUARTS OF OIL BETWEEN OIL CHANGES AT 3,500 MILES. WAS TOLD TO DO AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST WHICH WAS COMPLETED ON SEPTEMBER 2, 2020 TO VERIFY THAT 4.5 QTS OF OIL WERE ADDED OVER 2,955 MILES OF OPERATION. GM NOW REFUSES TO COVER THE REPAIR BECAUSE THE "SPECIAL COVERAGE" TIMEFRAME THAT I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED ABOUT (120K MILES OR 9/20/2019, WHICHEVER IS FIRST) HAS APPARENTLY ENDED AND THE VEHICLE HAD LESS THAN...
ENGINE IS BURNING EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. PER MECHANIC THIS HAS AFFECTED TIMING CHAIN, VALVES, PISTONS FOR WHICH THERE WAS A RECALL. I DO NOT RECALL RECEIVING A NOTICE OF THIS RECALL. MECHANIC SAID THERE WAS NO/VERY LITTLE OIL WHEN I TOOK TO HIM TO CHECK WHAT WAS CAUSING VEHICLE TO RUN RUFF AND SOUND RUFF. HE SAID PARTS WERE CAKED WITH OIL. MECHANIC SUGGESTED TO TAKE TO DEALER FOR RECALL KIT REPAIR.
THE TIMING CHAIN JUMPED ON MY EQUINOX CAUSING EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE. THE VALVES ARE BENT AND IT NEEDS A NEW GASKET BECAUSE OF THIS. IT WILL COST $4500 TO REPAIR. $6700 FOR A NEW ENGINE. I OWE MONEY ON MY VEHICLE. THE TIMING CHAIN HAS JUMPED BEFORE, THE DAY AFTER I PURCHASED IT IN 2015 (EVEN THOUGH IT HAD BEEN CERTIFIED) AND WITHIN THE LAST MONTH AS WELL AS ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT MALFUNCTIONING, PREVENTING ME FROM STARTING THE VEHICLE. I AM NOT SURE IF THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD ISSUES. I AM PUTTING TODAY'S DATE AS THIS IS WHEN I RECEIVED THE NEWS OF THE COST OF REPAIR. I WAS AT A STOP LIGHT WHEN SHE QUIT WORKING ON ME. GM NEEDS TO RECALL THESE ENGINES. I WANT MY LOAN COVERED OR A REPAIR. I AM HEARING A LOT OF COMPLAINTS WITH THIS MODEL AND HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT ISSUES....
