The contact stated that the low-beam headlights illuminated the roadway very dim, and the high-beam headlights worked as intended. As a result, the visibility of the roadway was impaired, and the high-beam headlights were needed to drive safely. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the headlight relay could be replaced; however, it might only be a temporary fix. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 102,000. The VIN was not available.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 94,000.
