NHTSA Complaint #11691888 — 2017 FORD EDGE

The contact owns a 2017 Ford Edge. The contact received notifications of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 25V544000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC) and 25V572000 (BACK OVER PREVENTION). However, the parts to do the recall repairs were not yet available. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the brake pedal was depressed but traveled down to the floorboard. The contact stated that while driving, the brake pedal was vibrating. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The contact stated that on a separate occasion; after refueling the vehicle, the vehicle was restarted and jerked and then stalled. The oil pressure warning light illuminated and remained illuminated. After several attempts, the vehicle restarted. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal several times to prevent the vehicle from stalling. The vehicle then functioned normally. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 94,000.
