NHTSA Complaint #11715216 — 2017 FORD EDGE

The contact owns a 2017 Ford Edge. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V544000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that while driving 20-30 MPH and depressing the brake pedal, the brake pedal went to the floorboard, and the vehicle failed to respond as needed. The contact stated that while depressing the brake pedal several times, the vehicle responded, and the contact pulled into Walmart and purchased brake fluid. The contact added two bottles of brake fluid to the vehicle and slowly drove to the residence due to the braking failure. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The failure mileage was approximately 109,000.
