NHTSA Complaint #11656599 — 2017 FORD EDGE

The contact owns a 2017 Ford Edge. The contact stated that during start up, the vehicle was shuddering and vibrating abnormally with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who replaced the purge valve and spark plugs but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and was diagnosed with coolant intrusion into the cylinders. The contact was advised that the engine was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 77,000.
