NHTSA Complaint #11510981 — 2017 FORD EDGE

The contact owns a 2017 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, she heard a misfire under the hood of the vehicle. The P0302 and P0304 warning lights were displayed on the instrument panel. The contact stated that based on the codes displayed, she replaced the ignition coil and spark plugs; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that coolant had leaked into cylinder #2, and that the engine long block needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was advised to call the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 88,697.
