The contact owns a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta. The contact stated while driving 45 MPH, the vehicle independently accelerated to 70 MPH. The contact immediately depressed the brake pedal; however, the vehicle failed to respond as needed. The contact pulled over onto the side of the road and the vehicle lost motive power. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact attempted to restart the vehicle however, the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle was towed to a local independent mechanic where the vehicle was diagnosed, and the contact was advised that there was no fault found with the vehicle. The contact continued driving however, while driving uphill at 25 MPH and approaching a stop sign at an intersection, the vehicle independently accelerated to 50 MPH, with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact depressed the brake pedal however, the vehicle failed to respond. The contact shifted to neutral(N) and...
My cars consumes oil like crazy. I'd say every week I am adding a quart to two quarts of oil. I would lose power while driving. Sometimes the car would just shut off And then it would take a few times to get it started. I was in the middle of driving when the car just completely shut off on me and it will not start at all. It will crank and sound like it's going to turn over but it won't. I've been told it's most likely a timing chain issue.
Oil consumption: My 2014 Jetta 1.8T SE is consuming oil at an excessive rate. This began at 30,000 miles and has been to the VW dealership numerous times ending without resolution.
HI, I bought this 2014 VW Jetta with 87,000 miles on it for $12,000 from Conicelli Motors in Conshohocken, PA- Nov 2021. I put $8000 down and had $4000 left to pay on it. I kept up with my oil changes and everything. By Oct 2023, I am being told the engine needs to be replaced. I have let this car sit in the parking lot, and I am still making payments on it. There is no way this car should need a complete motor replacement. From a few mechanics, the cost for a motor to be replaces is about $12000. That is what I paid for the car. Looking at all the 2014 VW Jetta engine recalls, I believe VW is the issue. I don't see a recall with my VIN number, but there should have been one.
The contact owns a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta. The contact stated while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to start. The check engine warning light and the battery warning light were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a dealer. The vehicle was diagnosed, and it was determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired under warranty. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred, and the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact made the dealer aware of the failure. The vehicle was currently at the dealer but was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 126,700.
WHAT HAPPENS IS MY CAR SHUT DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC AFTER ME GETTING GAS SOMETIMES AND ENGINE LIGHT APPEAR. WHEN SHUTTING DOWN A QUICK FLASH OF BATTERY LIGHT SHOWS UP, NOW ENGINE LIGHT IS ON LONGER AND THE CAR POWER JUST SHUT EVERYTHING DOWN AS IF THE BATTERY IS DEAD NOTHING WORK BUT WITH A JUMP I WAS ABLE TO MOVE CAR AND WHEN I CUT IT OFF IT SHUT DOWN AGAIN THIS BEEN GOIN ON FOR ABOUT 1 MONTH ADVANCE AUTO TEST IT AND SAID IT HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH MY FUEL PUMP DON'T REMEMBER THE CODE BUT ENGINE KEEP COMING ON VERY OFTEN.
I was on lunch brake, going through a McDonalds drive thru, the car just shut off. I had to have it pushed out of drive thru. After several tries it did start again but shut off in the middle of traffic. I couldn’t shift it. I had to have it towed. VW dealer said I needed a new transmission at 62,000 miles. Then I read about the recall and knew that’s what was the matter with my car. The trouble is my car is not on the recall list. It’s the same with many of us who bought jetta hybrids. So I am out $15,000. The only transmission that can be used is the one on the recall.
Engine experienced excessive oil consumption for years, especially following emissions control software update. Repeated EPC errors where encountered and brought back to multiple dealers who dismissed the issue recommending the use of higher octane fuels and more regular engine oil replacement. Advice was followed. Oil consumption eventually became extreme to the point that in excess of 4 liters where required to fill without any indication of low oil levels. Despite best efforts to maintain engine with sufficient oil to maintain recommend levels many times a year eventual engine knocking was encountered and costly engine replacement was recommended. Issue is well documented publicly with little to no recourse. Car is available for inspection upon request, engine replacement has not been pursued at this time.
timming chain damaged engine
The contact owns a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta. The contact stated that while pressing the brake pedal, the vehicle suddenly shut off and began to roll backward causing a second vehicle to crash into the rear passenger side door. No injuries were reported. A police report was taken at the scene and the vehicle was driven away. The cause of the failure was not determined. The contact indicated that after the vehicle was serviced under a manufacturer's campaign the vehicle had randomly shut off on several occasions and after restarting the engine the vehicle would operate as normal. No further information was available. The manufacturer was notified of the failures but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 149,000.
Timing Chain failure on highway nearly causing serious accident. VW will not cover repair. Timing Chain failure is a common issue on these cars and is a safety hazard.
The camshaft sensor is faulty, which then causes the cruise control to stop working, the traction control to turn off, makes the car unable to accelerate, then the steeling wheel begins to shake and the engine to shut down. Which is extremely dangerous while driving. I was luckily able to pull over, but I was almost rear ended because the car stopped accelerating. My check engine light didn’t come on until AFTER this incident occurred.
Engine has began working rough in idling, rpm bouncing on the low speed and traffic. Check engine light is on. So far, I have seen too many people experiencing absolutely the same issue with 1.8t engine with low mileage driven
First owner, brought brand new, serviced the car every 5k, current 61000 mileage, no prior repair or accident. Nov 16, 2022 Jetta’s engine light went on suddenly, next day engine light off, then it went on and off for a couple of days. Drove to the dealership Nov 21, was refused to check as they're too busy; drove to AutoZone Nov 22, did a diagnostic check, trouble code P0131 (power train system) and 02214-002(Anti-lock Brake System), suggested replacement of an Oxygen sensor. Four days later on Nov 26, drove at the parking lot at low speed between 10-15 mph, the car suddenly stalled for the first time. Was able to drive 1.6 miles back home at very low speed. Nov 28, 2022 Dealership was fully booked; was able to drive the car to a close-by shop who said could fix it. The independent shop replaced two oxygen sensors, spark plugs,...
Hello, Recently error codes P309D and 01314-013 were detected via a code reader. Translation of codes indicate Powertrain System and/or ABS ECM. The vehicle will lose power upon downshifting which requires the engine turned off and back on. Once the car reaches normal operating temperature, the issue does not occur. In addition, the Hybrid System is not available. The monitor indicates the battery is being charged. The battery will discharge power, but not to the engine. Not sure where it goes. Finally, the loss of the Hybrid System has resulted in a lower miles per gallon from 45mpg down to 29mpg. Vehicle is available to inspect. Loss of power puts me at risk. The issue has not been confirmed by an Independant source including dealer, police and insurance company. The vehicle has had transmission problems in the past. Loss of power and certain gears, specifically even gears and reverse.
My EPC light has been coming on and off for months now. We've had it in to multiple mechanics. All of them replacing different components. The light goes off and we drive it for a few days. Then it comes on randomly and we lose power to the vehicle and have to quickly pull off the road. This has happened TWICE while on the expressway in BUSY traffic with my children in the back. And its happened countless times on county roads and side roads. We've had the Accelerator Peddle replaced, the Throttle Body, new Spark Plugs..... the list goes on. I decided to do some digging online and found a MASSIVE forum of VW, Audi owners with this same exact problem. And they are ALL explaining the dangers. I am shocked this isn't on a Recall List. The EPC issue needs to be taken care of by the manufacturer....
Water pump, shaft seal leaking.
The contact owns a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta. The contact stated that after her son had parked the vehicle for approximately an hour, the vehicle failed to restart. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a certified mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that there was no power going to the engine. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer who stated that the timing belt had failed and damaged the engine. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that there were no recalls associated with the VIN. The approximate failure mileage was 84,000.
I was sitting at a light and when I started to go, my gas pedal went to the floor and that was it. I was able to coast a few feet. I tried to start the car but it would crank but not connect to start. I had roadside assistance drop the car off at the Peoria Volkswagen dealership. a few days later, I was told that the turbo exploded and the propeller broke and destroyed everything. just by looking at it, I was told that it's going to be at least $7400. my car was driving great. there were no check engine lights, no noise, nothing. I asked the dealership if this was common and he said that this was the first time with my kind of car.
EPC light randomly comes on when driving ,car goes limp and I’ve came close to have 3 accidents.Had car checked out at Volkswagen dealership and they said no repairs were needed .The EPC continues to come on and off This is dangerous Occurs multiple times
Motor was replaced at 104,714 miles due to knock in engine. Got car after motor replacement and car is doing same exact thing with less than 5000 miles on new motor. Codes that are appearing are oil pressure switch and power train computer issues.
The contact owns a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, there was an abnormal sound coming from the vehicle prior to the vehicle losing motive power. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the timing chain and alternator needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 82,000.
Got the Jetta in 2017 with 70,000 miles on it. It ran good in the beginning but gradually the engine light and the EPC light came on. It began to idle rough and die in the middle of driving it. With my child in the car! We took it to the dealership and they said nothing was wrong with it except it needed an update. Well that didn't help, eventually the whole engine shut down in the middle of driving it, luckily I was right by my house so I was able to get it started again and parked in the garage for a couple months until we could get it into the dealership. They looked at it and said it was an oil consumption problem with no leak and we need a new engine. They wanted to charge us 14 grand for a new engine! Appearently this is a...
While driving home from work the vehicle suddenly stopped and stalled in the middle of the road creating an unsafe condition with regard to oncoming traffic. There were no indicator lights that the vehicle was in need of attention, the check engine light was never on, the car had sufficient oil and gas and the battery less than a year old. The vehicle had to be towed. After having a mechanic look at it was told the engine seized and will have to be replaced. The car is only 6 years old and has less than 85k miles on it. Upon looking into the issue with 2014 VW Jettas, I have read several reports of similar instances happening to many others, some even within a year of owning the car. This is a safety hazard. When I spoke to VW of America, I was told there was a recall of...
My car has progressed from an intermittent crank/no start issue to outright failure while driving. There have been several incidents where I am driving at ~40 mph and my car completely dies in the middle of intersections/fast moving traffic putting me in grave danger. I have visited the dealership 4 times now with multiple parts replaced but the issue persists, and I feel unsafe driving the vehicle but I have no other option. I have not been given a loaner vehicle at any time from the dealership despite requesting one. There has been no check engine light present at any time. I have had the car since it was brand new and it has been serviced precisely at each service interval only at VW dealerships.
I ALSO SUFFER FROM MAJOR OIL LOSS IN MY 2014 JETTA SE 1.8. I HAD CODES POP UP TELLING ME TO REPLACE SOME SENSORS, AND TURNS OUT MY OIL WAS JUST VERY LOW. WITHIN THE FIRST MONTH I HAD THE VEHICLE, PURCHASED USED IN 2020, THE ENGINE WAS COMPLETELY DRY CAUSING ME TO QUESTION THE DEALERSHIP'S PROMISE THAT AN OIL CHANGE WASN'T DONE. I JUST REPLACED THE PCV VALVE, BUT NOW I'M GETTING P0301 AND P03AF CODES, AND MY CAR BARELY MADE IT TO WORK THIS MORNING. I HAD A SUCCESSFUL TEST DRIVE LAST NIGHT WITHOUT ANY ISSUES, BUT NOW I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE IT AT ALL WITHOUT PUTTING THE OLD VALVE BACK IN.
LAST YEAR I STARTED NOTICING MY ENGINE WAS RUNNING VERY ODD. THE LOW ENGINE OIL LIGHT NEVER CAME ON. I HAD BARELY ANY OIL LEFT SO I GOT AN OIL CHANGE THINKING THAT WAS THE ISSUE. A COUPLE WEEKS LATER, IT STARTED RUNNING ODD AGAIN. I CHECKED THE DIPSTICK AND IT WAS LOW ON OIL AGAIN. THIS KEPT HAPPENING FOR MONTHS. I RECENTLY TOOK IT TO VW SERVICE SHOP TO GET IT CONFIRMED IF THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH OIL CONSUMPTION. THEY TOLD TO COME BACK TO DO AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST FOR $300. I DIDN'T WANT TO PAY THAT MUCH JUST FOR A TEST SO I ASKED MY FRIEND THAT WORKED THERE IF THEY KNEW ANYTHING. TURNS OUT, THE SERVICE TECHS KNOW ITS A COMMON ISSUE WITH JETTAS AND IT WOULD COST $4K TO GET MY ENGINE REPLACED TO FIX THE ISSUE. I BOUGHT THE IN 2017 AND WAS...
WHILE DRIVING ON BUSY CITY ROAD CAR JUST STOPPED/DIED IN MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. IT ALSO HAS MAJOR ISSUES NOT RESTARTING AFTER I TURN IT OFF.
EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION IN A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME
TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER LEAKING TRANSMISSION OIL. TOOK TO VOLKSWAGEN DEALERSHIP AND THEY ATTEMPTED REPAIR AND I LEFT IN THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS DRIVING AND THE CAR START SMOKING AND LEAKING OIL ALL OVER THE ROAD.
AS I WAS ACCELERATING ONTO THE HIGHWAY ON-RAMP, MY CAR MADE A LOUD CRACKING SOUND AND SMOKE IMMEDIATELY BEGAN TO COME OUT OF FROM UNDER THE HOOD OF MY CAR. I WAS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE AND I STEERED THE CAR TO THE HIGHWAY SHOULDER. ALL THE SERVICE AND WARNING LIGHTS ON MY VEHICLE WERE NOW ON. I IMMEDIATELY TURNED OFF MY VEHICLE. AFTER WAITING A FEW MINUTES FOR THE SMOKE TO DISSIPATE, I OPENED THE HOOD AND NOTED OIL ON THE FLOOR. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION, IT BECAME CLEAR THAT THERE WAS A LARGE CRACK/HOLE IN THE ENGINE BLOCK WHICH APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY A BLOWN PISTON. MY VEHICLE HAD APPROXIMATELY 63,000 MILES AND HAD JUST RECEIVED AN OIL CHANGE 5 DAYS PRIOR. THIS CAUSED ME TO FILE A CLAIM WITH THE COMPANY THAT PROVIDED THE OIL CHANGE. PER THE REPORT ATTACHED, THE COMPANY'S INSURANCE INSPECTOR DETERMINED THAT THE...
MY CAR'S TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER IS LEAKING TRANSMISSION OIL ALL OVER MY CAR/UNDER MY CAR. MY MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THE ISSUE. I TOOK IT TO VW DEALERSHIP FOR ANOTHER DIAGNOSTIC ONLY FOR THEM TO NOT FIX THE CAR AFTER 700.00 AND I WAS TOLD THE CAR WAS FIXED UNTIL I DROVE IT 10 MIN DOWN THE ROAD AND THE CAR WAS SMOKING AND LEAKING OIL EVERYWHERE. THE CAR ALMOST CAUGHT ON FIRE DUE TO THE LEAK.
CAR BEGAN USING EXCESSIVE OIL IN LAST YEAR. STARTED ABOUT 60,000 MILES. CURRENTLY 69,000. TODAY WOULD NOT START AND NO LOW OIL LIGHT. CHECKED OIL AND LOW. ADDED 1 QUART IN A 4 QUART SYSTEM CAR STARTED, RAN. DEALERSHIP SAYS THEY ALL BURN OIL .SOME BURN A QUART EVERY 1500 MILES. THE 2.0 LITER TURBO ENGINE IM FINDING IS THE CULPIRT. HAVE ONE OTHER IN CAR A TIGUAN BUT NO PROBLEM YET (2018 MODEL YEAR). IF THIS OIL GET LOW AS DRIVING WITH NO CHECK OIL LIGHT COMING ON 1( CAN IT STALL AND POSSIBLY CAUSE ACCIDENT.OR 2) KILL MOTOR AND LOOSE POWER TO ALL AND POSSIBLY CAUSE ACCIDENT? ANY OTHER COMPLAINTS? ANY HELP AS WHAT TO DO? THANK YOU
WHEN THE VEHICLE DOWNSHIFTS TO LOWER GEARS THE ENGINE STUTTERS AND EVENTUALLY STALLS OUT
MY 2014 VW JETTA HAS ONLY 45,000 MILES AND IS OUT OF WARRANTY IS BURNING UP TO 5 QUARTS EVERY MONTH. I JUST PAID IT OFF BACK IN MAY OF THIS YEAR. CAN VW BE LIABLE TO FIXED IT AT NO CHARGE? WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS IF ANY?
CRANK CAR CUT OFF LIKE IM OUT OF GAS... WIRING IS BAD POWERTRAIN AS WELL DUE TO CODE P0341 SENSOR
EPC WARNING LIGHT CAME ON SUDDENLY; VEHICLE THROTTLED DOWN AND CONTINUED TO BUCK AND STALL OUT; LOSS OF POWER AND SPEED. VERY DANGEROUS WHILE IN TRAFFIC. NO SPECIFIC DIAGNOSTIC CODE(S) WERE SAVED OR TRIGGERED. THIS CAUSES COSTLY AND UNNEEDED DIAGNOSTICS AND REPAIRS
THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP DISINTEGRATED WHEN IT WAS SITTING SO LONG IN STORAGE. DUE TO THE EDITIONS RECALL VW HAD. THERE FOR THE CAR WILL LOOSE POWER AND COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. UNEXPECTEDLY. THE CAR WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET WHEN THIS HAPPENED.
I ONLY HAVE 37,000 MILES IN MY CAR AND WAS BOUGHT AS CERTIFIED CAR FROM VW DEALER. CAR MAKES ENGINE NOISE WHILE IDLING AND DIAGNOSIS IS THAT RADIATOR COOLING FAN ASSEMBLY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED WHICH COSTS $740.00 PER VW DUBLIN, CA DEALER. I CANNOT EXPECT RADIATOR FAN TO GO OUT AT SUCH LOW MILEAGE AND I HAVE SEEN SO MANY THREADS ON THIS ISSUE / TOPIC WHILE GOOGLING... THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ISSUE WITH VW JETTA OR VW IN GENERAL. CONSUMERS CANNOT BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE OR RESPONSIBLE TO PAY FOR SUCH EXPENSIVE REPAIRS WITH ONLY 37,000 MILES DRIVEN AND COOLING FAN FAILING. THIS HAS TO BE A DESIGN/ENGINEERING ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE RECALLED BY VOLKSWAGEN. *TR
EVENT'S STARTED LAST YEAR IN DECEMBER. VEHICLE STARTED EXPERIENCING INCONSISTENT RPMS AT IDLE NOTICEABLY AFTER 1 MINUTE THAT WILL FLUCTUATE BETWEEN 600 TO 900, EVEN SPIKING TO 1.2K RPMS. RECORDED A VIDEO AS EVIDENCE (VW MECHANIC SAID THAT MEANT NOTHING TO HIM AT "~30-40+ YEARS EXPERIENCE"). WHEN SLOWING TO A STOP AT AN INTERSECTION, ENGINE WILL SOMETIMES CEASE (SOME SAY STALL) AND NO LONGER OPERATE. VEHICLE WILL RUN ON THE HIGH-WAY. WILL START AROUND 80% OF THE TIME AFTER 'STALL' REGARDING REDUCING SPEED TO STOP. LOCAL AUTO-PARTS SHOP CODE READ "P0011 CAM...BANK 1 OVER-ADVANCED". MY CAR IS A SE 1.8L TSI. REPAIR ESTIMATE IS OVER $3,000 FOR WHAT VW DEALER HAD QUOTED AS A "STRETCHED TIME-CHAIN AND FALING TENSIONER." (PAID OVER $150 FOR DIAGNOSTIC.) VW MECHANICS NEVER TOOK A LOOK INSIDE ENGINE TO PROVE THEIR FINDINGS ACCORDING TO VERBAL INTERACTION. WOULDN'T PROVIDE ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS I ASKED. MILEAGE PROBLEMS BECAME...
ITS LEAKING FROM THE COOLING PART ITS GET VERY HOT. *TR
I BEEN TRYING TO GET MY STICKER SINCE LAST YEAR ....I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO CAUSE OF THE RE CALL. I BEEN DRIVING EXPIRES TAGS....AM ANNOY ALREADY WITH THIS RECALL T THE DEALER SHOULD HAD TOLD ME SINCE THA BEGGING...MY CAR KEEPING LOSING OIL AND AND. CAN I JUST GET A REFUND
APRIL 13TH,2020 I TOOK MY CAR IN TO THE LOCAL VW DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT. ROAD TESTING PRODUCED NOTHING, BUT P1732 AND P173D CODES WERE FOUND. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT CALLED THE VW TECH LINE AND VW INDICATED THAT A NEW TRANSMISSION WAS THE ONLY OPTION. MY COST WOULD BE $9236.14. AFTERWARDS, I STOPPED AT THE LOCAL INDEPENDENT GERMAN AUTO REPAIR SHOP TO HAVE MY PAPERWORK LOOKED AT. THIS SHOP INDICATED THAT THIS WAS A NEW TRANSMISSION DESIGN, INTENDED FOR THE HYBRID, AND THAT IT WAS FULL OF BUGS. I WAS INFORMED THAT VW KNEW ABOUT THE ISSUE AND CREATED A SOFTWARE BANDAGE TO FIX IT. THE FIX WAS NOT A PERMANENT SOLUTION, RATHER TO PROLONG THE LIFE OF THE CAR INSTEAD OF VW FIXING THE ISSUE UNDER WARRANTY. THIS SHOP ALSO INDICATED THAT NORMAL SERVICE DONE TO CARS WOULD SHOW A POTENTIAL PROBLEM, BUT VW INDICATED TO CLEAR...
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, MY CAR BEGAN TO STOP ACCELERATING BY ITSELF. ONCE THE RPM EXCEEDED THREE, THE EPC LIGHT CAME ON. FURTHER ON DOWN THE ROAD, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, SO I HAD THE CODES READ AND WAS TOLD TO REPLACE THE CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR. THE FOLLOWING DAY I HAD THIS PART REPLACED AND PROCEEDED TO DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY AGAIN. THE LIGHTS CAME ON ONCE AGAIN AND AN ADDITIONAL LIGHT CAME ON AS WELL. THIS TIME THE CAR SLOWED DOWN SO MUCH THAT I WAS ALMOST HIT TRYING TO GET TO THE SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY.
MY JETTA BEGAN HAVING ISSUES STARTING ONCE DRIVEN. IT PROGRESSED TO STALLING WHILE IDLING AND AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS. IT FURTHER PROGRESSED TO STALLING WHILE DRIVING, SLOWING FOR TURNS ECT. THE EMC RELAY WAS REPLACED BY MECHANIC. APPARENTLY THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM THAT NEEDS TO BE RECALLED BY VOLKSWAGEN
UPON ARRIVAL AT DESTINATION KEY WILL NOT COME OUT OF IGNITION, THIS HAS HAPPEN ON 12 OCCASIONS. TRANSMISSION IS LEAKING AROUND OIL RING WHICH MAY CAUSE IT TO FLOW IN COOLANT. DEALERSHIP STATED RECALLS ARE OUT JUST NOT MY VIN NUMBER. I WOULD LIKE FOR THIS VIN TO BE INCLUDED, ASAP.
CAR ENGINE JUST DIED WHILE IN DRIVE, USUALLY WHILE SLOWING DOWN AND COMING TO A STOP. WHEN BROUGHT IN FOR REPAIR, A FUEL ENGINE WAS REPLACED. TWO WEEKS LATER THE PROBLEM BEGAN OCCURRING AGAIN. ANOTHER PART WAS REPLACED. FOUR MONTHS LATER, THE PROBLEM HAS RETURNED. THE ENGINE STARTS TO SHAKE WILL IN IDLE WITH FOOT ON BREAK. AND THEN SHUTS OFF.
THE VEHICLE IS KNOWN FOR INTERCOOLER ICING AND VOLKSWAGEN DEALERSHIPS DON'T WANT TO DO ANYTHING UNLESS THEY CAN REPLICATE IT. AFTER DRIVING IN COLD WEATHER AND STARTING THE CAR UP AGAIN THE INTERCOOLER HAS WATER BUILD UP FROM CONDENSATION THAT CAN POTENTIALLY HYDROLOCK OR DESTROY THE ENGINE BY PUMPING WATER THROUGH IT.
MY VEHICLE; FOR MONTHS NOW, HAS EITHER NOT STARTED UP RIGHT AWAY OR SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING THROUGH CITY STREETS AND A MAJOR FREEWAY. WHILE DRIVING THE CAR LOSES POWER BUT THE BATTERY HAS POWER. POWER STEERING BECOMES LOST AND I HAVE TO PUSH THE VEHICLE OFF THE ROAD OR FREEWAY. THE VEHICLE HAS A ROUGH IDOL WHEN THIS OCCURS AND BECOMES UNSAFE TO HANDLE AND CAREFULLY REMOVE FROM A BUSY ROAD.I HAVE TAKEN IT IN TO VW SERVICE MULTIPLE TIMES AND THET CANNOT FIX IT. NO CODE COMES UP ON THEIR DIAGNOSTIC COMPUTER AND NO CHECK ENGINE DASH LIGHTS ILLUMINATE. THIS ISSUE SEEMS AS THOUGH IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO FIX BY THE DEALERSHIP WHO SOLD IT TO ME, AND SELF DIAGNOSING IS OUT OF MY LEAGUE.
CAR SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY. LOST ALL POWER. PULLED OVER, PLACED IN PARK, AND THEN THE CAR STARTED. ENGINE LIGHT STAYED ON. HAPPEN MULTIPLE TIMES. I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS CAR
