THE VEHICLE HAS ACTIVATED A FALSE AEB ON SEVERAL OCASSIONS SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. I IMMEDIATELY TOOK IT BACK TO NISSAN AND THEY STATED THERE WERE NO RECALLS AND THE VEHICLE SEEMED TO HAVE NO ISSUES. I'VE HAD THE VEHICLE FOR 5 YEARS AND IT CONTINUES TO OCCUR, NEARLY CAUSING A TRAFFIC COLLISION.
while driving the car, sometimes the collision light will come on and the car will automatically stat braking even through there are no car in-front or around.

The heater and thus defroster no longer work, only cold air comes out. A Nissan service center diagnosed the issue as a stripped out part of the blend door actuator. The whole heater box would need to be replaced to resolve the issue. In winter driving, the lack of defroster impairs visibility and turns off the automatic forward braking system. The fault light for the forward braking system comes on when there is windshield frost/fog. The first signs of this issue appeared as intermittent failures of the heater failing to turn on, but resolved on the next drive. Eventually, the heater/defroster permanently failed. From searching the internet, this blend door actuator issue appears to be prevalent among other Rogues.
On a clear sunny day, while driving around 40 mph with no traffic in front or behind me my Automatic Emergency Braking activated for a instant and then released. If I had been in traffic such as driving through Dallas at 70 mph or more, I might have been rear ended. It scared me. I can imagine what a car behind me would have done with the car in front hitting their break for no reason. There was no warning.
I was traveling down a busy road just before lunch when I heard a beep then my Rogue braked hard. Thankfully nobody was in front of me or behind me at the time. It was scary.
I have a constant AEB warning light on the dashboard.
I was driving at around 20 mph when the AEB warning light came on, a MALFUNCTION light came on, and the vehicle brakes locked up. I put the vehicle into neutral and shut it off. I then started it back up. The MALFUNCTION light was still on, the AEB warning light was still on. I was able to put it in drive and move it. I'm terrified if this happens again especially if I am on the highway when it happens. I took the vehicle to the dealer and they said they don't know why it happened and can't explain the warning lights.
Hello: We bought the vehicle in 2021. After a few months, we noticed that the vehicle braked itself: meaning it auto-braked while driving at 25mph on the road. We took the vehicle to the dealer for repair. They said, "the vehicle was absolutely fine and perhaps something in the way of the vehicle triggered braking". I, the driver replied, I didn't have any vehicles either in front of or behind me. And besides, I understand the "safety features" and functionalities. Yet, they gave me the vehicle without repair. After a few months, same thing happened: the vehicle auto-braked or braked itself without me the driver putting my foot on the brakes. This time I also called the company's consumer affairs who said they'd help. The consumer affairs worked with the dealer. The dealer now said, "yes the vehicle indeed had auto-braking issues and it could be fixed, and that they'll...
Cars automatic emergency braking activated for no apparent reason
I was pulling into a parking space with my foot on the brake going about 2 mph. About 4 feet from a pole the engine raced and the car slammed into the pole. The airbags did not deploy. I was the only person in the car and my foot was still on the bake after the collision I asked Nissan to investigate and they said I would have to wait to get the car fixed for two months and store and tow it at my own expense. It was already being repaired and my insurance company will only pay for a rental for 50 days.
While backing out of the driveway or driving forward, the automatic brake engages without warning and without cause. Because of this, I was practically rear ended when driving forward. When backing out of the driveway, the suddenness and the shock of the incident was particularly alarming to my wife who was a passenger in the car , who has a history of having suffered 2 heart attacks. On the first report of the incident, the dealership replaced the sensors on the car. I recently took the car back to the dealership and they are saying they can't reproduce the problem. The warnings, a beeping noise, come at the same time as the engine shuts off.
In October of 2022, While I was driving my 2020 Rogue on a country road to a school event for my granddaughter, the car made a soft bell sound then it immediately slammed on the brakes for no reason that I can understand. I immediately pulled the car off the road. It showed a triangle with an exclamation point within it in the dash display. I shut the car off and when I restarted it the triangle was gone and it drove ok. I later read online that this could be an AEB issue. It was a clear day with no rain and no cars close in front and, luckily, behind me. It scared the hell out of my wife and I. I no longer feel safe in the car if it can do this for no reason! I brought the car into a Nissan Dealer to have it checked...
Yo he tenido dos frenados de emergencia sin haber nada en el frente. Pero no sabia que pasaba. Almenos no paso nada grave. Pero vi una noticia de Telemundo que el modelo que tengo de carro tiene problemas relacionados. Además mi asiento cuando acelero suena como si estuviera fracturado. Pero en la Nissan me dicen que está bien que no tiene nada malo.
The front censors activated during snow storm triggering the brakes to lock and steering wheel to lock. The car slid 50 yards across 3way stop sign intersection into a house front lawn. The same censors keep coming on all the time thinking that something is in front of car but nothing is there. I have recorded the censors lights on a few times. Nissan an Nissan dealer have told but no one seems to try to fix it. I'm filing a complain with NY State attorney general office. I can't take it anymore.

Driving during morning hours on 2 lane road approx. 30 mph and breaks fully engaged without warning or being physically applied. A warning light displayed on the dash but then went away after approx 15-30 seconds. No other vehicles were around and no road obstruction. No system updates or outstanding repairs exist for this vehicle. A Nissan service appointment is pending for investigation of sensors.
Was driving on a county highway in Mercer County, NJ that I’ve driven many times before around 40-45 MPH in perfect sunny weather, mid-morning, when suddenly the car slammed on the brakes on its own. It was a terrifying experience as it happened so fast and I had no control over the vehicle. The blessing is that no one was behind or next to me, but what’s unnerving is there was no one or no objects in front of me. It actually took me a few minutes to make sense of what happened. There was seemingly no logical reason the automatic emergency break system should have activated. I drove it slowly to the dealer and left it as it was a weekend. Next day they checked the car/sensors and could not find an issues and said the software was up to date. They opened a ticket with Nissan who advised...
While driving at 70mph on an empty highway, the car engages the AEB system and violently hits the brakes while no other vehicles or objects are present. Same thing happened on an empty city street a few weeks prior.
Over the past 6 months was when the following electrical issues began. I was traveling around 25 mph when my Foward Collison Warning signaled and led to the Automatic Braking Emergency engaging. There was no other vehicle or object around. I was in the countryside. The weather was clear. If this were to happen under different circumstances on a busy highway it would have caused an accident, most likely fatalities. The other drivers would have had no warning because the vehicle does brake hard even stop abruptly depending on speed. The vehicle locked up and I didn't have control over my vehicle anymore. Also more then once the Forward Collison Light came on when it was raining and/or dense fog. The brakes did not engage and the alarm did not sound but the warning still showed on the dash. It eventually stopped showing on my dash as I drove, but...
AEB light flashes on and off at random driving times. sent in for inspection no code generated but have videos of each one. Safety feature that is no longer a safety feature, but a hazard to self and others while driving. when ur car stops would be my #1 one indicator especially on the freeway and at random times= accident, the possible death of self and others! no, the dealer cant no regenerate the code. no other inspection except the local dealer. No other warnings. light just randomly appeared 2 days after the purchase of the car, a few months later, etc same pattern. was informed weather, then dirt. NOT sure how a person can avoid weather; fog, condensation, moisture. or bugs hitting ur windshield or review mirrors while driving. I would have to bubble wrap my car for that and those things not to possibly effect this sensor.
Breaks slammed on without warning with nothing in front of vehicle. There where no vehicles within a mile ahead. There where 4 people in the vehicle and the seat belts did not lock up and passengers where slammed into the dash. The breaks have locked up twice now.
I was stopped at a stop light, when it turned green I hit the gas and within a few seconds, an alarm came on and the car hit the brakes and stopped the car. There was no reason for this to happen. No one in front of me hit their brakes. If there was someone close behind me, I could've easily been rear ended.
Purchased my care in September of 2020. Shortly, after having my car I noticed this orange light flash in dash. I was able to capture a picture. Then, I sent it to my car salesman. He stated that he did not know what it was. So, it has done this several times since then. I researched this light and found out that it is the braking system. Even when there is nothing in the presence of the car it will appear. This is a scary thing. Consumer stated car would stop with nothing in front of it or the speed had not accelerated over 20 miles.
The contact owns a 2020 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at highway speeds, the Forward Collision-Avoidance System erroneously activated causing the vehicle to abruptly stop in the middle of the highway. During the failure, there were no other vehicles or objects nearby to cause the system to activate. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 10,000.
Traveling between 35-40mph AEB comes on out of no where. There was no vehicle or obstructions in front of me in my lane at all. There was no warning lights or tones just instant loud braking. I have had it come on twice while backing down my drive but assumed it was picking up the curb or light post or cars in the driveway. This could have been a catastrophic incident had I been traveling at a higher rate of speed or there had been someone immediately behind me. I have contacted the dealership and we are working on what to do next.
The contact owns a 2020 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving 55 mph, the vehicle independently came to an abrupt stop as the automatic emergency brake warning light appeared on the instrument panel. The contact was able to resume normal driving after the failure however, the warning light remained illuminated on the instrument panel. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The failure mileage was 4,863.
TRAVELING ABOUT 40 MPH ON A TWO LANE LOCAL ROAD WHEN THE EMERGENCY BRAKING ACTIVATED ON ITS ON FOR ABOUT 3 SECONDS ALONG WITH A LOUD PULSATING FEELING AND NOISE.
THE FORWARD COLLISION WARNING LIGHT KEEPS BLINKING ON AND OFF AND ACCORDING TO FRED ANDERSON NISSIAN OF ASHEVILLE THEY SAID AFTER THE 3RD TIME IN THE SHOP THAT THE LIGHT BLINKING IS NORMAL. I HAVE THE SERVICE RECORD WHERE THEY SAID THAT.
WHILE DRIVING ON AN INTERSTATE OFF-RAMP GOING APPROX. 35 MPH, THEN TURNING LEFT, MY 2020 NISSAN ROGUE SV AWD, SUDDENLY AND AUTOMATICALLY CAME TO AN ALMOST COMPLETE STOP. I WAS ABLE TO CRUISE TO THE SHOULDER AND AVOID BEING HIT BY A VEHICLE BEHIND ME.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2020 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING WARNING LIGHT WOULD REMAIN ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER BAY TOWN NISSAN LOCATED AT 5755 I-10 EAST, BAYTOWN, TX 77521 HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,000.
WHILE DRIVING MY CAR STOPS WITHOUT PROMPT. IT GOES INTO N WITH OUT ME TOUCHING THE SHIFT. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE WHILE DRIVING AND THE CAR JUST STOPPED, LOOKING DOWN TO SEE WHAT HAPPENED THE CAR IS IN N. I AM AFRAID THIS MIGHT HAPPEN WHILE I AM DRIVING ON 95
CAR DRIVING ALONG NORMALLY WHEN SUDDENLY AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKE APPLIED ITSELF..THIS HAPPENED 3 TIMES IN FIRST MONTH OF OWNERSHIP..FIRST APPROACHING BRIDGE..2ND ON RESIDENTIAL ROAD AND THIRD WHEN BACKING OUT OF DRIVEWAY. AT NO TIME DURING THESE STOPPAGES WAS A VEHICLE OR OTHER OBSTACLE CLOSE BY.. TEXTED SALESMAN WHO ADVISED TURNING OFF ABS.. WILL CALL TOMORROW TO DEALER ( TODAY SUNDAY) TO ATTEMPT TO HAVE FIXED.. DON'T THINK THERE'S RECALL YET BUT THERE ARE CLASS ACTION SUITS .. VEHICLE WAS MOVING ON ALL 3 OCCASIONS
I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 55 MPH NO VEHICLES IN FRONT OR BEHIND ME WHEN MY SCREEN FLASHED WITH A WARNING WHILE SIMULTANEOUSLY SLAMMING ON THE BRAKES. MY FOOT WAS ON THE GAS AND I HAD ZERO CONTROL. I'VE HAD PROBLEMS WITH MY AED SENSOR BEFORE BUT NEVER LOSING CONTROL OF MY BRAKES.
MY EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM ENGAGED AS I WAS DRIVING. I WAS GOING APPROX. 35 MILES PER HOUR ON A CITY STREET WHEN IT HAPPENED. IT MADE A LOUD GRINDING SOUND AS IT JERKED MY VEHICLE TO AN IMMEDIATE STOP IN TRAFFIC, CAUSING ALL THE SEAT BELTS TO JERK TIGHT AS WE WERE THROWN AGAINST THEM. IT ONLY LASTED FOR A SPLIT SECOND AND I WAS ABLE TO RESUME DRIVING.
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING HER BRAND NEW NISSAN ROGUE 2020, SHE WAS HEADED TO WORK AND IT WAS SNOWING. AS SHE WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE AUTOMATED EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM LITERALLY SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES AT FULL FORCE MAKING HER SLIP AND GO OVER A CURB, MY WIFE DID NOT EVEN TOUCH THE BRAKES ALL SHE HAD TIME TO DO WAS BRACE FOR THE CRASH. IF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY I WOULD NOT HAVE A WIFE RIGHT NOW THIS HAPPENED ON 01/27/2021. THE COLLISION SYSTEM OF THE VEHICLE CAUSED THIS DUE TO WHAT THE VEHICLE ITSELF IS SAYING MALFUNCTION IN THE FRONT AND REAR COLLISION SYSTEMS. SHE WAS SCARED TO DEATH THE COLLISION SYSTEM IS SUPPOSED TO STOP ACCIDENTS NOT CAUSE THEM. I HAVE A CLAIM NUMBER WITH NISSAN AS WELL FOR THIS [XXX}. MY VEHICLES RIM IS CRACKED, INNER TIE RODS BROKE, THE COLLISION SYSTEM...
THIS VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW ON JUNE 2020. FIRST INCIDENT WAS IN NOVEMBER 2020 I WAS DRIVING AT 55MPH ON A HIGHWAY AND ALL OF THE SUDDEN THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS TURNED ON AND MY CAR CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP AND THE CAR STARTED BEEPING LETTING ME KNOW OF THE POSSIBLE COLLISION. THERE WAS CLEARLY NOTHING IN FRONT OF ME BUT THANKS TO THIS INCIDENT I CAME SO CLOSE TO CAUSING A MONSTROUS CHAIN EFFECT OF AN ACCIDENT AND COULD HAVE BEEN FATAL IF SOMEONE WOULD HAVE REAR ENDED ME GIVEN THE SPEED EVERYONE IS TRAVELING AND MY CAR SUDDENLY STOPPING. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP IT WAS PURCHASED FROM AND THEY "DID A SOFTWARE UPDATE" AND REPLACED THE ELECTRIC MODULE OF THE CAR. SINCE THAT INCIDENT I AM VERY FEARFUL THAT IT'LL HAPPEN AGAIN. IT'S TERRIBLE THAT I'M DRIVING A CARE I DON'T EVEN FEEL...
SEVERAL OCASIONS MY 2020 NISSAN ROGUE WILL UNEXPECTEDLY BREAK WHILE DRIVING. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MY LOCAL DEALER FOR SERVICE. THEY TOLD ME THEY HOOKED IT UP TO A DIAGNOSTIC COMPUTER AND NO ISSUES WERE FOUND. I LEFT IN THE CAR WITH NO REPAIR DONE. OVER THE NEXT TWO WEEKS THE VEHICLE HAD SEVERAL UNEXPECTED BREAKING OCCURRENCES. I CONTACTED THE DEALER AND SPOKE TO THE SERVICE MANAGER. HE TOLD ME HE NEEDED THE VEHICLE FOR TWO DAYS AND WHEN COULD I BRING IT IN. WE AGREED ON A DATE AND THE VEHICLE WAS DROPPED OFF. DURING THE TIME BETWEEN CONTACT AND THE APPOITMENT I FOUND NISSAN TECHNICAL BULLETIN TSB NTB18-041C WHICH IS A TSB ABOUT FALSE ACTIVATION OF THE AEB SYSTEM. I BROUGHT THIS TO THE SERVICE MANAGER ATTENTION AND HE SAID HE WOULD LOOK INTO IT. I DROPPED THE VEHICLE OFF AND HE HAD HIS MASTER TECHNICIAN LOOK...

I NOTICED MORE THAN 800 COMPLAINTS HAVE ALREADY BEEN SUBMITTED FOR THIS ISSUE, BUT NISSAN IS NOT DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THEY NEED TO DO A RECALL BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT OR KILLED.
