THE CONTACT BEGAN TO SMELL A FUEL ODOR ON SEPTEMBER 25, 2019 AND SHE NOTICED A HUGE PUDDLE OF FUEL ON THE DRIVEWAY. IN JULY 2017, THE VEHICLE HAD A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND MESSAGE TO CHECK FUEL TANK INLET THAT WOULD COME ON AND GO OFF IN. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CODE WAS RELATED TO THE EVAP SYSTEM. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE SAME FORD DEALERSHIP THAT PERFORMED THE RECALL IN 2016. THE CANISTER PURGE VALVE FAILED AND THE FUEL FILLER PIPE HAD LEAKS AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE FORD DEALERSHIP SUBMITTED A 360 CLAIM FOR THE PARTS AND LABOR. THE 360 CLAIM WAS DENIED BECAUSE THE CAR WAS OUTSIDE THE 7 YEARS OF SERVICE AND THE DEALERSHIP WOULD NOT WARRANTY THE CLAIM BECAUSE THE RECALL HAD ALREADY BEEN CLOSED.

LUCKILY, I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER TO THE SHOULDER AND NO VEHICLE WAS BEHIND ME. I TURNED OFF THE CAR AND WAS THEN ABLE TO ACCELERATE.
