Last night my Jeep Wrangler 4xe had a automated over the air software update come up on the screen. As normal i pressed update so the computers updated themselves. This morning I was approximately .5miles away from my house (first time driving since update), and I got multiple warning lights and errors on the dash. THE MOTOR THEN TURNED OFF WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. I pulled over, I was able to get the vehicle restarted and turned around. I made it about 1000feet from my house when the car TURNED OFF COMPLETLEY AGAIN. This time it would not restart. Luckily I was able to coast onto a side street off of a busy main road. Jeep released an update for uconnect box. After it was automatically installed my Jeep wrangler lost engine power and steering while in the middle of a round about. Barely had enough momentum to make out of the closest round about exit and no power to pull off the road. Dashboard flashed shift into park. Shifted into park and restarted the engine. Turned off the main road and it died again. This did it 3 more times trying to drive home. This is extremely dangerous since you lose steering and engine power. This could kill someone on a turn, highway, or intersection.
I installed an update last night and today the vehicle just shuts off on it own. Looks like jeep stellantis pushed an updated that they clearly did no testing on. P1e1d-00 is the code when I scan. I can no longer drive my jeep.
After doing the unconnect update on Oct 10, while the vehicle was driving it bricked (stopped moving, everything went off). Causing a near accident with our entire family in the car - young children involved! We pulled over and turned it off then back on again and we're in limp mode for a while when it bricked AGAIN this time in the middle of an intersection. This is a BRAND NEW Jeep and has barely been driven. Absolutely horrific!
October 11, went to the grocery store and parked. Upon shutting off the vehicle, it asked to push an update. I said ok, plugged the charger into the charging station and went shopping. About an hour later I left the parking lot. Made it 200 yards and the vehicle shutoff and started to come to an abrupt stop. I was in a 40 mph zone, and the person behind laid on their horn and swerved. My vehicles check engine light came on, and it was still in drive with the dashboard displaying a flashing D. Check engine light activated then intermittent loss of power while in motion or while stopped. Forced to restart engine. Happened after over the air update of Telemetrics box module update.
Performed uconnext update last night and this morning car completely lost power on the highway. Power steering also did not work and unable to provide gas to car to accelerate. Dead stopped on highway. Dealership then tells me it is “safe to drive but will continue stalling out”
Car is locking up and saying “press P to start” and shift gear lights start blinking. Check engine light is also on
While driving my vehicel, seems that an update were installed that caused a sudden hard stop, the check engine signal turned on and the system asked to change from D to P. We had the fortune that it was in traffic, so the vehicle was almost stopped. After a restart, I was able to drive but 3 minutes later... It happened again. I was not being able to accelerate and the system asking to change to Parking while driving at 30 MPH. I was driving with my family and it was hard for us because my daughter feels unsecured. How is it possible that an update broke some vehicles?
Immediately after downloading the Uconnect 10/10/25 update, as requested by my Jeep, the car immediately lost all power, shutting completely off in 6pm traffic. This problem on 10/11/25 has been posted all over social media. Took the jeep to the dealership for service and they said they have no information from Stellantis about this occurring. No warnings prior to downloading update. We could have been killed.
After traveling a short distance, the vehicle will shut down, lose all power and require you to restart. At which time the process repeats, short distance of travel with sudden loss off all vehicle functions. There is some indication that this is due to a software issue pushed in an ota update.
My 2024 Jeep Wrangler stopped in the road as my husband was driving. On the dash it said to shift to park. And push start. When he did it would not move. He had it in drive and was stuck in the road for about 2 minutes. We are so thankful that no one hit us as we were just over a hill.
The car while driving just stopped and instructed me to put it in park engine electrical malfunction.
The car got a uconnect update tonight. 30 minutes later, when driving the car for the first time since the update, the car shut off while in drive going 30mph. The car loses power, tells you to shift to park. Turning the car off and on enabled it to drive for a while longer, but the same thing happened again. The check engine light is on, and it's giving a number of code errors around the hybrid controller.
Loss of propulsion while driving. Vehicle went into neutral and forced to pull over and restart the engine. This is due to a bad software update that jeep updated over the air just minutes earlier. This is being reported by hundreds of users on various forums on Reddit and Facebook.
I parked to go into the grocery store and a message popped ip about an update. I clicked update now and the screen went black and the vehicle shut off. I left the store and in the middle of the road the whole jeep lunged forward and shut off. It said to go into park and turn on the vehicle. Did a software update on my car. Afterwards I turned it on and it started up really rough then a couple minutes later it shut off.
After a software update tonight, the jeep shut down while driving, loosing all power, and indicating to shift the vehicle to park. after that restarted the vehicle and got CEL code P1E1D and the vehicle went into limp mode.
The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle entered LIMP Mode with the image of a turtle displayed on the instrument panel. Soon after the failure, the instrument panel went blank. The contact stated that the vehicle lost motive power with a loud fan blowing sound coming from the vehicle. The contact pulled over and turned off the vehicle. Upon restarting the vehicle, the vehicle failed to exceed 20 MPH. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on several occasions however, the mechanics were unable to duplicate the failure or diagnose the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The vehicle remained in the possession of the dealer unrepaired. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000
Vehicle abruptly lost all power while driving, multiple panel lights, turtle mode. Twice now, first time at an intersection (April 10, 2025), second time on street in front of my house after pulling out of driveway. Loss of power steering, insufficient power to get back up driveway to garage. Towed both times. First time spent 18 days at dealer, "multiple DTC codes", no definitive diagnosis. Back at dealer now for past 11 days, no diagnosis yet. Could easily have been life-threatening situation if occured while driving on freeway or at speed. Apparently known problem with these Jeep HEVs.

Driving in parking lot, as I went to turn into a spot, my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe suddenly accelerated as if I had floored the gas. Unintentional acceleration continued as I applied and pumped the brakes. The Jeep hit a concrete and metal pole in the lot, and continued to try to accelerate, crawling up the pole until the engine was shut off.
While driving on a highway at the 55 mph speed limit, the vehicle suddenly lost power and I was only able to travel at around 40 mph. The incident happened at a busy time on this two-lane highway and it caused traffic to back up behind me and for people to pass me until I could turn at the next intersection. I was only a mile or so away from my residence and I was able to make it home under the reduced power. The 4xe battery was at <1% and I was driving in hybrid mode at the time of the incident. Since I leased the car, I have taken it to the dealers 4 different times for the steering wheel shaking out of control the first time the "fixed" it but turned me away the 2nd and 3rd time. Each time I requested the left mid speaker to be checked and replaced but they refused to do anything about it until my last oil change 2 months ago. Last year around November they fixed and oil leak, but the cat never leaked oil form the bottom. The Jeep was burning oil not leaking oil and they never did a consumption test. I took it in because the oil levels were low. However, the speaker is still broken, and I did not return the Jeep because they would not give me a loaner car for the service even though it's under warranty. Loud noise and vibration on low rpm Once above 1000 rpm it starts acting normally. Camera get disconnected and blue screen shows up
Has major oil leek. Dealer says its at the engine cooler. Could cause engine to fail or start fire due to oil spraying everywhere. Dealer waiting on part. No symptoms other than oil leaking on ground.
The first time this happened I was in Maryland, while reversing out of a parking spot onto [XXX] , the Jeep just shut off, just before that every light on the panel went off and the ABS, Powertrain just to name a few failed. I was stuck 3/4 out of the spot when the shutdown occurred, the steering wheel locked, gear shift wouldn’t move and when I tried to press the brake it wouldn’t go down. I had to hit the ignition to reset it while out in oncoming traffic, after 2 attempts, I was able to get it started and shift into park, then drive and then pull in.
