I will be driving down the road and a red lighting bolt will flash on my gauges then the jeep will either lose power or shut off. I was almost hit by a semi truck due to this. Once I cycle the key goes away till the next time it happens. Also the brake assist will randomly kick on typically applying braking power to the left rear passenger tire. This is not fixed by cycling the key. Jeep has recalled newer Wranglers for these exact issues but when I contacted Jeep they said it would cost me out of pocket
I was driving from the store, I was coming up to a cross road when my wipers just went wild for reasons unknown. When I went to turn them off it completely shut off putting at a sudden stop thankfully just before the crossroad and I'm blessed my kids weren't with me. Put it in park then tried to start it and it was shortly after when I was able to get it started again. Once it was able to start I put into drive and the whole dash was up in lights, and it was almost like it was bogging the rest of the way, under a certain Rpm it was gunna die and I couldn't get it to sustain at a rpm. Almost like it was bogging down on me. Just hoping and praying it would last till home. Once I got it home it died on me....
2010 Jeep Wrangler approximate 96k Miles Dealing with a faulty TIPM: Issues with electrical Components such as: car not starting (battery, started all have been replaced) key fob being replaced every 12 months even after battery have been replaced. Power windows and Power door locks working when they want to work. Transmission has also been replaced with a new one. This has been going on for about 3-4 years.
I have a blank instrument cluster, my lights are on and wipers run constantly. No warning before this happened. I cannot turn wipers off or control lights. No safety at night with no interior lights and not to mention. I cannot know how much fuel I have. I have found from research that many Jeep Wrangler owners have the same issue from reading forums. I can disconnect the negative battery cable and it temporarily resets then reverts to the same problem. I have also checked the multifunction switch as I was told could be causing the issue and this is not the case because the issue is still there when the switch was unplugged. I then checked the instrument cluster . Unplugged and plugged back in with only a momentary reset and then back where I started. This is not safe and very frustrating when I know there are Many...
HEADLIGHTS STOP WORKING WHILE DRIVING BECAUSE JEEP KNOWS ABOUT A TIPM ISSUE BUT WILL NOT FIX IT. TIPM issue. This issue is common and described across the web but is a safety hazard! The headlights will flash 3-5 times then completely shut off. Restarting the Jeep and disconnecting the battery does not help. Jeep dealer says circuit in the TIPM is the issue and that this is common! Lordy have mercy for all the vecs on the road when my headlights started flashing at them and then went out on, of course, an unlit section of the road. But the crazier part is Jeep knew this could happen and doesn't warn the customers. I sure did not know that I might be driving blind at night becoming a safety hazard. DEALER IS UNABLE TO PROVIDE ME WITH A COURTESY VEHICLE DURING THE RECALL WORK AND THE RECALL TAKES SEVERAL DAYS TO COMPLETE. FORCING ME TO PAY FOR A RENTAL VEHICLE DURING THE RECALL REPAIR IS A COST TO ME TO GET THE RECALL CORRECTED.
THE DRIVER'S SIDE HEAT BLOWS COLDER THAN THE PASSENGERS SIDE HEAT. PROBLEM LAYS WITH EITHER FAULTY HEATER CORE, AIR DIVERSION SWITCH, OR IMPROPER CHANNELING. THIS PROBLEM OCCURS WHEN SITTING IDLE, AND WHILE DRIVING. PREVENTS PROPER DEFROSTING MEASURES WHEN DRIVING IN COLD, WET WEATHER.

DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY APPROX 70 MPH (SPEED LIMIT) WHEN THE BATTERY LIGHT SENSOR NOTIFICATION CAME ON. MOVED OVER TO THE SLOW LANE TO GET OFF THE NEXT EXIT. WITHIN ~ 5 MILES OF DRIVING, THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. TOTAL ENGINE LOSS AND LOSS OF ALL ELECTRICAL INCLUDING POWER STEERING MAKING IT EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO SAFELY EXIT THE LANE ONTO THE SHOULDER.
VEHICLE DIES WHILE DRIVING ALL ELECTRICAL LIGHTS ON DASH ARE LIT UP. CONSUMER STATED AFTER PULLING THE VEHICLE INTO A PARKING LOT VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. AFTER 10 MINUTES VEHICLE STARTS, WIPERS GO AT FULL SPEED AND DEPLOY ALL WASHER FLUID. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REVELED LOW VOLTAGE TO THE TIPM MODULE. HORNS SOUNDS WHILE BACKING UP. THE CENTER CONSOLE GETS HOT (LIKE WORRY ABOUT A FIRE HOT) , THE RADIO WILL NOT WORK SOMETIMES, SOMETIMES THE RADIO WILL BE ON BUT YOU CAN NOT SHUT IT OFF OR TURN THE STATION OR ANYTHING WITH IT, NOW THE WIPERS WILL NOT SHUT OFF, IT WILL NOT COME OUT OF PARK, RANDOM LIGHTS COME ON ON THE DASH AND GO OFF, THE WINDOWS AND BLINKERS DO NOT WORK. MY PARKED/STATIONARY 2010 JEEP WRANGLER CAUGHT FIRE FROM THE CENTER CONSOLE BY ITSELF WITH NO OUTSIDE FACTORS INVOLVED. IT WAS PARKED INSIDE MY DETACHED GARAGE.*DT *DT *DT APPROVAL FOR INSURANCE COMPANY AND FIRE INCIDENT INSPECTION ATTACHED.*JB *TR
PCM POWER CONTROL MODULE IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH JEEP WRANGLERS AND THERE IS NO RECALL?
I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND MY JEEP QUIT. WHEN I LOOKED UNDER THE HOOD THE BATTERY, FUSE BOX AND WIRING WERE ALL MELTED.*DT *AS
TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE (TIPM) FAILED WHILE DRIVING CAUSING THE JEEP TO DIE AT HIGHWAY SPEED MAKING IT VERY DIFFICULT TO CONTROL ON THE NORTH TEXAS EXPRESSWAY WITH NO EXITS. JEEP CAME TO A STOP ON A BLIND CURVE AND WOULD NOT COME OUT OF PARK TO BE MOVED. SHIFTED TRANSFER CASE TO NUT NEUTRAL AND WITH ANOTHER DRIVES ASSISTANCE PUSHED OFF THE EXPRESSWAY.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN MY RESIDENTIAL STREET AND MY JEEP'S WINDSHIELD WIPERS STARTED GOING OFF, MY HORN STARTING HONKING AND MY SEAT BELT LIGHT CAME ON. I CONTINUED TO DRIVE AND 3 SECONDS LATER IT DID THE SAME THING BUT THIS TIME IT DIED AND SMOKE STARTED COMING THROUGH MY VENTS INSIDE. I IMMEDIATELY PUT IT IN PARK AND GOT OUT TO GET MY SON OUT OF THE BACK SEAT BUT MY DOOR SHUT BEHIND ME AND ALL OF THE REST WERE LOCKED. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED 911 BECAUSE I WAS WATCHING THE CAR FILL WITH SMOKE WITH MY 10 MONTH OLD TRAPPED INSIDE. I WAS NOT ABLE TO UNLOCK ANY OF THE DOORS UNTIL I GOT TO THE BACK HATCH, WHERE MY KEY OPENED IT UP. I GOT MY SON OUT AND ABOUT 60 SECONDS LATER, IT STARTED SMOKING WORSE AND IT TURNED TO BLACK SMOKE. HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT DRIVING ON HIGHWAY. TIPM. TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE. A QUICK SEARCH AND IT IS ALL OVER THE INTERNET OF BEING A SAFETY ISSUE. $1000 REPAIR.
LIGHTS ON DASH WENT HAYWIRE AND THE VEHICLE JUST DIED WHILE GOING 35 MPH WOULD NOT RESTART OR COME OUT OF GEAR WHEN IT WAS STOPPED. I WAS STUCK ON A CITY STREET WITH NO LIGHTS OF ANY KIND. VERY THANKFUL MY DAUGHTER WAS NOT WITH ME!!
WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE VEHICLE WOULD VIOLENTLY START SHAKING IF IT HIT A POT HOLE OR THE ROAD WOULD CURVE. WHEN THE VEHICLE STARTED TO VIOLENTLY SHAKE, STEERING THE VEHICLE WAS IMPOSSIBLE AND IT ALSO KILLED THE ENGINE ONCE. THIS HAPPENED DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND ALSO ON RESIDENTIAL ROADS. TURNED ON THE VEHICLE THE WIPERS ARE GOING NONSTOP WITHOUT BEING TURNED ON, THE TURN SIGNALS AND ALL OF THE GAUGES ARE NOT WORKING. THE HEADLIGHTS STAY ON WHEN THE JEEP IS ON. THIS HAPPENS WITH STARTING THE VEHICLE AND ALSO DRIVING.
WIPERS WILL NOT TURN OFF, BLINKERS WILL NOT WORK, DASH BOARD LIGHTS FLASH, VEHICLE STALLS WHILE DRIVING DUE TO FUEL RELAY NOT WORKING.
MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS SUDDENLY REFUSED TO TURN OFF. YOU MUST REMOVE THE FUSE OR DISCONNECT THE BATTERY FOR THE WIPERS TO STOP. WAS INFORMED BY DEALERSHIP THAT IT WAS A FAULTY TIPM. THE TIPM IS THE ELECTRICAL BRAINS OF THE VEHICLE. CHRYSLER IS WELL AWARE OF THIS FAULTY PART AND HAVE RECALLED CERTAIN VEHICLES BUT DENIED THE PETITION TO RECALL THE PART IN THE 2010 JEEP WRANGLER. IT'S DISAPPOINTING THAT THE COMPANY REFUSES TO STAND BY THEIR PRODUCT AND FIX WHAT THEY KNOW TO BE FAULTY. THE DEALERSHIP QUOTED A $1200.00 PRICE TO FIX THE TIPM.
1) DOORS ARE SUPPOSED TO LOCK WHEN VEHICLE GETS TO A CERTAIN SPEED BUT THE DRIVER SIDE NO LONGER LOCKS AUTOMATICALLY. 2) WHILE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK, THE AUTOMATIC GEAR SLIPPED INTO DRIVE AND SMASHED INTO A WALL AND TOTALLY SHUT DOWN. THE JEEP HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALER AS THE AUTOMATIC GEAR SHIFT WOULD NOT MOVE AND THE JEEP WOULD NOT START. THE JEEP HAS BEEN IN THE REPAIR SHOP FOR 3 DAYS AND THE DEALERSHIP HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO DETERMINE WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE JEEP.

ACTUAL HORN WORKS. FUSE IS GOOD. RELAY IN TIPM DOESN'T CLICK. NON- SERVICABLE PART???!!! CAN'T PHYSICALLY REPLACE A SIMPLE RELAY FOR A HORN FOR UNDER $1000.00???!!! WHAT THE... I CAN NOT BELIEVE THIS. I NEED A HORN FOR SAFETY.
THE VEHICLE HEADLIGHTS WILL RANDOMLY CUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. THE HEADLIGHT ISSUE EFFECTS BOTH HEADLIGHTS AND FOG LIGHTS AND WILL STAY OUT FOR SECONDS AND ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS REQUIRE SEVERAL MINUTES BEFORE COMING BACK ON BOTH WHILE STATIONARY AND WHILE DRIVING. I HAD THE SWITCH ON THE STEERING COLUMN REPLACED WHICH DID NOT CORRECT THE ISSUE. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED TO THE FUSE BOX. THE HEADLIGHTS CUTTING OUT IS A MAJOR CONCERN AND WHEN I CALLED JEEP FOR A PRICE THEY HAD IT IN STOCK WHICH WOULD INDICATE THIS IS A KNOWN AND NORMAL ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH INTO A PARKING LOT, THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF. WHEN HE ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, THE ALTERNATOR STARTED TO SMOKE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ALTERNATOR WAS FAULTY AND DESTROYED THE COMPUTER SYSTEM. THE MECHANIC REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR AND THE COMPUTER. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 99,600.

ON 5/12/17 MY WIFE LEFT FOR WORK ABOUT 7:20 AM, ABOUT 20 MIN. LATER SHE CAME BACK IN OUR HOME AND SAID THE JEEP WENT CRAZY, SHE EXPLAINED ABOUT HALF WAY DOWN OUR DRIVE WAY WHICH IS ABOUT A 1/4 OF A MILE, THE WIPERS SPEEDED UP ALL THE LIGHTS IN THE GAUGE CLUSTER LIT UP,A CONSTANT NOISE LIKE A SMOKE ALARM STARTED AND LASTED FOR A FEW SECONDS, THEN THE WIPERS WERE GOING REAL SLOW AND JUMPING, THE ENGINE SHUT OFF AND SMOKE CAME OUT FROM UNDER THE HOOD ON THE LEFT SIDE. SHE SWITCHED OFF THE JEEP AND ALL THE CLUSTER LIGHTS STAYED ON. I WENT TO THE JEEP THE CLUSTER LIGHTS WERE STILL ON, I OPEN THE HOOD AND SMOKE WAS COMING FROM THE FUSE BOX. I DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY AND REMOVED THE FUSE BOX COVER, THERE WERE MELTED FUSES IN THE BOX AND I COULD SEE...
DASHBOARD DOESN'T ILLUMINATE, DIRECTIONAL SIGNALS DON'T OPERATE, WIPERS WON'T STOP. THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE (TIPM) NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AS I HAD THIS DIAGNOSED BY A PROFESSIONAL MECHANIC. AND I HAD THE CLOCK SPRING REPLACED BY A JEEP DEALER AS THIS DIDN'T CORRECT THE EXISTING ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. THIS PROBLEM HAPPENED AFTER THE JEEP WAS PARKED OVERNIGHT IN MY GARAGE AND IT HAPPENED JANUARY 2016.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2010 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, IT CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE AND FILED A REPORT. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 119,000.

TIPM IS FAULTY. POWER LOCKS NON FUNCTIONAL. WASHER PUMP NON FUNCTIONAL. PASSENGER HEADLIGHT STAYS ON HIGH BEAM CONSTANTLY EVEN WHEN VEHICLE IS NOT IN USE. UNPLUGGING BATTERY IS MANDATORY TO KEEP LIGHTS OFF AND BATTERY FROM DRAINING. FACTORY INSTALLED REMOTE START DOES NOT WORK. PROBLEM OCCURRED WHILE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AT HIGH SPEEDS DOWN THE HIGHWAY. INABILTY TO WASH THE WINDSHIELD IS A HUGE SAFETY FACTOR. AS WELL AS THE CONSTANT HIGH BEAM TO OTHER MOTORISTS.
JUST PURCHASED THIS JEEP A FEW WEEKS AGO AND, EVEN THOUGH WE KNEW THE TIPM WAS A KNOWN ISSUE, WE THOUGHT PERHAPS IT WOULD NOT SURFACE FOR A FEW MONTHS OR YEARS. WELL 2 WEEKS AGO, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTED BEEPING. A FEW DAYS LATER, IT WOULD NOT START. THEN TODAY THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS STARTED FLASHING & BEEPING AND A FEW MINUTES AFTER THAT, THE ENGINE STALLED. ALTHOUGH I WAS ABLE TO RESTART IT, 10 MINUTES LATER IT STALLED AGAIN & I COULD NOT RESTART IT & NOTHING WAS COMING ON - NO HAZARDS / LIGHTS / ENGINE LIGHTS. ANOTHER 10 MINUTES AND I NOTICED THE LIGHTS WERE BACK ON SO I TRIED TO START IT AGAIN . ENGINE TRIED TO TURN OVER BUT UNFORTUNATELY IT DIDN'T START. WAITED ANOTHER FEW MINUTES & IT FINALLY STARTED. WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT HOME & AM NOT GOING TO MAKE THE...
TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE FAILED RESULTING IN LOSS OF HORN, WIPERS, INTERIOR DOME LAMP, DASH LIGHTS, AND AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFT LEVER IS LOCKED IN PARK.
THE TIPM FAILED WHICH RESULTED IN THE HEADLIGHTS NOT WORKING. THERE WAS NOT A SPECIFIC EVENT THAT CAUSED THE FAILURE.
VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY. AFTER FLASH UPDATE ON TIPM. TIPM FAILURE OCCURRED CAUSING STARTER TO "FRY". THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT HAS HAD MANY COMPLAINTS. THIS CAN CAUSE PROBLEMS ON VEHICLES WHILE IN MOTION. CAN'T BELIEVE THE NHTSA FAILED TO INVESTIGATE AFTER ALL THE COMPLAINTS RECEIVED.
''TAKATA RECALL'' DEFECTIVE TPM, ALMOST COUSED ME TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT WHILE DRIVING IN MEXICO DURING MY VACATION THE LIGHTS WENT OUT WHLE DOING 75 MILES PER HOUR....TOOK IT TO MECHANIC AND IT HAS A BAD TIPM MODULE.
DROVE MY CAR AND EVERYTHING WAS FINE. PARKED CAR AT MY APARTMENTS AND SMELLED SOMETHING THAT SMELLED LIKE A FIRE. WENT TO THE OTHER SIDE AND SAW FIRE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. WITHIN MINUTES THE FIRE CONSUMED THE ENTIRE FRONT OF MY JEEP WRANGLER. I NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS BEFORE THIS NOT EVEN A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON.

MY HEADLIGHTS AND MARKER LIGHTS WOULD NOT SHUT OFF UNLESS I DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY. WINDSHIELD WIPERS WOULD RANDOMLY COME ON AND NOT SHUT OFF. CHANGED OUT THE ACCESSORY SWITCH AND THAT DIDN'T FIX ANYTHING. CHANGED SOME FUSES AND THE PROBLEM SEEMED TO BE RESOLVED. THE NEXT DAY MY JEEP WOULDN'T START. JUMPED IT WITHOUT A PROBLEM AND ABOUT A HALF A MILE DOWN THE ROAD WHILE DRIVING ALL OF THE DASH LIGHTS STARTED FLASHING. MY JEEP ENGINES MOTOR STALLED WHILE IN MOTION ON A BUSY CITY STREET WITH A SPEED LIMIT OF 40 MPH, FORTUNATELY I HAD JUST STARTED SLOWING DOWN FOR THE RED LIGHT SO AN ACCIDENT DID NOT OCCUR. ON MY 2010 JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) DASHBOARD, THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT FLASHES ON EVERY OTHER MINUTE WITH A CHIME, AN INDICATION THAT THERE IS SOMETHING MALFUNCTIONING OR INTERFERING WITH THE VEHICLE'S AIRBAGS. THIS IS HAPPENING WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY AND WHILE IN MOTION EITHER ON THE HIGHWAY OR CITY ROADS. THIS IS CAUSED BY A FAULTY CLOCKSPRING WITHIN THE VEHICLE'S STEERING WHEEL. THIS FAULTY CLOCKSPRING IS THE CULPRIT FOR POTENTIAL AIRBAG FAILURE IN THE 2010 JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) DURING AN ACCIDENT OR PREMATURE DEPLOYMENT WHEN SIMPLY DRIVING AROUND. DAIMLER CHRYSLER HAS REFUSED TO ADDRESS THE SAFETY CONCERN OF THEIR FAULTY CLOCKSPRING THAT CAN CAUSE FAILURE OF THE VEHICLE'S AIRBAGS FROM PROPERLY DEPLOYING."
