THE SKY SLIDER ROOF IS MALFUNCTIONING AND GETTING WORSE AND WORSE. IT IS NOW LEAKING AND I FEAR IT MIGHT COME OFF EVENTUALLY. CHRYSLER JEEP NO LONGER OFFERS PARTS TO REPAIR AND NO ONE CAN FIX THE ISSUE. IT IS UNACCEPTABLE THAT THE DEALER WOULD ALLOW THEIR PRODUCT TO GO UNSUPPORTED IN THIS MANNER.

THE FIRST TIME MY SKYSLIDER MALFUNCTIONED WAS WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE EXPRESSWAY AT 65MPH. INSTEAD OF OPENING STRAIGHT IT WENT SIDEWAYS AND WAS STRUGGLING AGAINST ITSELF- THIS HAD NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE. I ENDED UP HAVING TO STOP ALONG THE SHOULDER BECAUSE I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WAS HAPPENING. ONCE I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO GET IT INTO THE CLOSED POSITION AGAIN IT WOULDN'T STAY CLOSED ON IT'S OWN WITHOUT WANTING TO FLIP UP AND CAUSE A LOT OF NOISE AND POTENTIALLY MORE DAMAGE. I HAD TO HOLD THE ROOF CLOSE THE REMAINING 20 MINUTES HOME. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY TOLD ME THERE WERE NO PARTS TO FIX IT BUT THEY COULD PERMANENTLY CLOSE IT FOR ME. THEY COULDN'T GUARANTEE IT WOULD BE WATER TIGHT BUT THIS WAS THE BEST THEY COULD OFFER. I ACCEPTED THEN APPROXIMATELY TWO WEEKS LATER AS SOON AS I STARTED...

CHYRLSER LLC HAS HAD MANY CHANCES TO REMEDY PROBLEM @ 101,000 MILE REPAIR & MADE NO OFFER TO BUY BACK / TRADE BUT PROMISED TO FIX WITH EACH REPAIR. VEHICLE WAS SOLD TO ME WITH A SKYSLIDER FEATURE AND THIS SKYSLIDER FEATURE IS FLAWED DESIGN. I SENT DEALERSHIP THE VIDEO SHOWING HOW THE TOP "BURPS" WHEN DOORS ARE CLOSED, SO THE TOP HAS NO SECURE LATCHING FEATURES TO HOLD IT INPLACE AND WHEN THE ELECTRICAL SHORTS...

CONTACTED THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD IT WOULD TAKE A MONTH TO GET THE PIECES....THAT MONTH IS NOW GOING ON FIVE...WAS GIVEN A NUMBER BY THE DEALERSHIP TO CALL AND PUT IN A COMPLAINT...NOW I HAVE A CASE NUMBER AND A WOMAN WHO CALLS ME EVERY WEEK TELLING ME THEY ARE WORKING ON RECTIFYING THE PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD TODAY THAT THEY ARE UNABLE TO MAKE THE REPLACEMENT PIECES AT THIS TIME BECAUSE THE "MOLD" FOR THE PIECE WAS LOST...SO NOW THEY ARE IN THE PROCESS OF TRYING TO FIND A MANUFACTURER TO MAKE THE "MOLD" TO MAKE THE PIECE...THEN MAKE SURE IT IS SAFE FOR THE PUBLIC....REALLY...I CALL BS..THEY NEED TO TAKE THESE CAR BACK AND RETURN MY MONEY..THIS CANNOT BE LEGAL...I AM MAKING CAR PAYMENTS ON A CAR I CANNOT DRIVE SAFELY...DO THEY NOT REALIZE GOD FORBID SOMEONE DRIVES...

THE SKYSLIDER FABRIC ROOF LEAKS OFTEN. THERE ARE WATER STAINS ON THE UPHOLSTERY. IT DOES NOT SEEM TO FIT CORRECTLY ANY MORE. MECHANIC SAID IT WOULD BE A COSTLY REPAIR SO BASICALLY HE JUST TAPED IT IN PLACE WITH DUCT TAPE. I DID RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT OWNERS ARE HAVING A LOT OF PROBLEMS WITH THIS, INCLUDING HAVING THE ROOF GO FLYING OFF THE CAR WHEN IN MOTION.

THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO FURTHER INSPECT THE SKY SLIDER SUN ROOF TRACK TO PLACE THE PIN IN LINE BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED WITH THE MISALIGNMENT. THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.

SECOND MAJOR ISSUE IS THE HORRENDOUS WIND NOISE, ANY TIME THE VEHICLE OPERATES OVER A SPEED OF 45 PLUS MILES YOU CAN HEAR IT INSIDE. THEY SAY WHEN YOU DRIVE AN SUV DON'T TURN YOUR CORNERS TOO FAST, HA! WHEN YOU DRIVE A JEEP MADE WITH THIS MOONSLIDER IT DRAGS YOU LIKE YOU CAN FLIP ANY MINUTE ON THE HIGHWAY, THE DEALER IS ABSURD AND WANTS TO CHARGE YOU OVER $3000.00 TO FIX IT. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE SINCE I PURCHASED IT - JUST GOT ANOTHER QUOTE.

LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND WENT INTO A DITCH FOR A ALMOST THIRTY FEET. WAS FINALLY ABLE TO STOP WHEN CRASHED INTO A TRE. SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED BUT NOT THE FRONT AIR BAG. INJURIES TO MY HEAD, NECK AND SHOULDER.
