I was pulling into the gas station to get some gas. I'm used to use a 2-ft drive so what I could not lift my left foot to put pressure on the brake I used my right foot. It slipped off the brake and after the accelerator and I hit a small Pole stopping me from going into the gas station front door. Just could have been raised up to a work accident I had a couple weeks prior.
When I'm driving down the road my car won't shut off. I have to pull over to the side of the road turn my key completely off and take it out put it back in and start it. It takes a couple of times to get it started as I have to move the key back and forth and then it will start. I did a check engine light check. And it is saying something about a Anti-Theft ignition problem. My headlights stay on all the time and blink when it is shut off.

The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle momentarily lost automotive power and occasionally shut off while idling. The local dealer informed the contact that the parts needed to repair the vehicle were not available. Additionally, the contact attempted to temporarily repair the vehicle with an after-market part; however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was not repaired due to parts not being available. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where the crankshaft sensor was replaced; however, the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 180,000.

Intermittent starting issues for 5+ years, multiple repairs with no resolution
The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while his daughter was driving approximately 50 MPH, the instrument panel lost functionality and became inoperable. The contact stated that radio was also inoperable. The contact stated that after parking the vehicle overnight, it was discovered that the passenger’s side air bag had deployed. The vehicle had not been taken to the dealer, but the dealer was contacted by phone. The contact was informed that the failure was a known issue and that an unknown computer or software needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
Vehicle will not start randomly. The battery has been checked, the relays and fuses have been checked, the starter has been replaced, and the fuel pump and fuel filer have been checked. The issue continues sporadically and leaves the driver stranded. There is an known issue with the ignition switch on these Jeeps as my 2008 Jeep Cherokee was recalled for this reason but there is no recall for the 2007 for this same reason.
2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7L when driving on roadway the rpm go up down and then the Jeep shot off and then put the vehicle in neutral and turn the key start and the vehicle up and when driving again and the start again and took the vehicle to Jeep dealer and there don’t find anything wrong.

When I am driving, all of the lights on my dash come on. Seatbelt, check engine, brakes, low tire pressure etc. The stay on for a couple of seconds. Then EVERYTHING turns off for about half a second. Gas gauge, rpm, speedometer all go down to zero, which is how it is when I turn the jeep off. While I'm still driving and going 45 mph! Then every thing turns back on. It happened about 5 months ago once. Then today it happened about 15 times as I drove home from my mother's house, which is about 7-9 miles from my house.
WHILE DRIVING THE JEEP ON THE INTERSTATE AT 65 MPH LOST ALL POWER WAS ABLE TO GET IT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND AFTER A MINUTE IT RESTARTED IT HAS DONE IT NUMEROUS TIMES SOMETIMES SITTING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT SOMETIMES DRIVING 25 MPH THROUGH TOWN THERE IS NO WARNING NO DASH SIGNS OF ANYTHING WRONG VEHICLE JUST SHUT OFF LOSE ALL POWER TERRIFYING TOOK IT TO A JEEP DEALER COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM ALSO THE RADIO PLAYS AND THE DASH DISPLAY DOES NOT LIGHT UP MY POWER WINDOWS WILL GO UP AND DOWN BY THEMSELVES AND END UP HALFWAY. I ONLY BEEN ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR SHORT DISTANCES BECAUSE OF THE FEAR OF DEATH LOSE BREAKING AND STEERING. HAVE SEEN OTHER COMPLAINTS WITH THE SAME ISSUES ON THE INTERNET WHY IS THIS VEHICLE ALLOWED TO BE ON THE ROAD

ENGINE TURNS OFF WHILE DRIVING.IT HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE , INTERMITTENTLY. FEBRUARY 3RD, 2021, JANUARY 17TH, 2021, AND SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE.
THE 4-WHEEL DRIVE TRANSFER CASE CAN DIRECT ENGINE POWER TO THE REAR WHEELS ONLY, ALL FOUR WHEELS, OR IN ITS NEUTRAL POSITION, NON AT ALL. THESE VEHICLES ARE BEING RECALLED BECAUSE THE TRANSFER CASE CAN SHIFT INTO ITS NEUTRAL POSITION WITHOUT WARNING. IF THIS WERE TO OCCUR, ENGINE POWER WOULD NOT REACH ANY OF THE DRIVE WHEELS AND THE VEHICLE COULD NOT MOVE UNDER ITS OWN POWER. DEALERS WILL REPROGRAM THE FINAL DRIVE CONTROLLER WHICH GOVERNS THE TRANSFER CASE TO CORRECT THIS CONCERN.
JEEP IS HAVING ELECTRICAL ISSUES. IT WILL RANDOMLY GO INTO LIMP MODE AT START, BUT TURNING IT OFF AND RESTARTING IT FIXES THAT ISSUE. IT'S DONE THIS THREE TIMES IN THE 2 YEARS WE HAVE HAD IT. I AM NOW HAVING AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE WHERE SOMETHING IS CAUSING A DRAW ON THE BATTERY WHILE THE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE ALTERNATOR, STARTER, AND NOW THE BATTERY.IT IS CAUSING THE BATTERY TO SWELL, AND THE JEEP IS HAVING TO BE JUMPED TO START MULTIPLE TIMES A WEEK. THE BATTERY WAS PUT ON A DEEP CHARGE, AND IT HAD TO BE JUMPED THE NEXT DAY. ALSO THE AIR CONDITIONING BACK LIGHTING GOES OFF AND ON WHEN YOU TURN THE KNOBS OR ADJUST THE FAN SPEED WHILE BOTH DRIVING AND STATIONARY. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR ROUGHLY A MONTH.
THE JEEP HAS ELECTRICAL STUFF HAPPENING SPORADICALLY AND DOES NOT START BUT WITH POWER BUT AFTER 3 TO 6 ATTEMPTS STARTS RIGHT UP. I TURN KEY ALL POWER AND BELLS GO OFF AND IT MAKES A HUMMING NOISE AND 1 CLICK NOISE DASH SAYS ' TRANSMISSION OVER TEMP' THE JEEP IS COLD SO NOT OVER TEMPERATURE. I'VE SEEN A LOT OF POST ABOUT RECALL AND ALSO ABOUT IGNITION SWITCH OR MODULE. I'VE ONLY OWNED FOR 2 YEARS AND DEALER SAID CAR HAD NO RECALLS WHEN I PURCHASED. THIS HAPPENS STATIONARY AND ALSO AFTER DRIVING ABOUT 20 MINUTES TO DESTINATION AND WHEN I WENT TO LEAVE IT TOOK SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE STARTING. I HAD GOTTEN UP TO TAKE A RIDE TO THE STORE AND THE DAY BEFORE I DIDN'T SEE ANY SMOKE. BUT BEFORE I MADE IT TO MY STOP SIGN THERE WAS SMOKE ROLLING AT MY DRIVER DOOR SO I RUSHED BACK TO THE HOUSE AND COULDN'T EVEN OPEN MY DOOR. BY THIS TIME FLAMES WHERE COMING OUT THE DRIVER DOOR AND I TRIED PUTTING IT OUT AFTER I CALLED THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WITH A BUCKET OF WATER BECAUSE THE WATER HOSE WOULDN'T REACH AND THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WOULDN'T BE IN A RUSH. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THEY DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE WITH A DEFECTION IGNITION SWITCH, WHICH THE CONTACT LINKED TO THE ORIGINAL RECALL. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 175,500.
PURCHASED VEHICLE USED ON JULY 3 2020 AT SETH LEE AUTO SALES IN TAVARES FL. . PAID $1500 CASH DOWN PAYMENT AND INCURRED A LOAN AS WELL. TOLD THE VEHICLE WAS FINE. DROVE AWAY AND WITHIN 5 MINUTES THE VEHICLE STALLED AT A LIGHT. COULD NOT RESTART FOR 15 MINUTES. SERVICE TECHNICIAN JUST CALLED ADVISING THE FRONT CONTROL MODULE HAS TO BE REPLACED WITH TOTAL BEING $1096.41. THE PART IS CURRENTLY ON BACK ORDER.
BEEN HAVING STARTING ISSUES FOR AT LEAST 6 MONTHS. IT STARTS SOMETIMES AND OTHER TIMES HAVE TO WAIT A FEW HOURS TO A FEW DAYS. THE LAST 2 DAYS WON'T START AT ALL AND HAS DRAINED MY LESS THEN A YEAR OLD BATTERY. 3 WEEKS AGO WINDOWS WILL ROLL DOWN OR UP WHENEVER THEY WANT. DOORS LOCK AND UNLOCK AT RANDOM. I HAVE A 2007 GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE TAKING MY KIDS TO SCHOOL, I WAS SLOWING DOWN WHEN THE JEEP JUST DIED. I COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND WAS ABLE TO START THE CAR AGAIN. ANYTIME SINCE THEN, MAINLY WHEN SLOWING DOWN TO STOP, IT WOULD DO THE SAME THING. TRIED REPLACING ECM, SENSORS, ETC. NOTHING HAS WORKED YET. JEEP DEALER TOLD US IT COULD BE THE WIRING HARNESS...WHICH WE CANT FIND ANYWHERE.
THE DASH, INTERIOR LIGHTS, SPEED ODOMETER, AC/HEATER ARE GOING OUT WHILE DRIVING. IT BLINKS OFF FOR A FEW SECONDS AND COMES BACK ON FOR A FEW SECONDS REPEATEDLY WHILE DRIVING. MY IGNITION WAS REPLACED DUE TO THE PREVIOUS RECALL. WHEN THE DASH COMES BACK ON THREE LIGHTS ARE LIT UP: ESP BAS, CHECK ENGINE AND THE STABILITY CONTROL.

DRIVE TO WORK 20 MIN PARKED CAR FLAT SURFACE CAME OUT TO LEAVE AFTER 8 HOUR SHIFT THAT ERROR MESSAGE AND WON'T START. 2ND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED NO WARNING WAS TOLD COMMON ISSUE PIGTAIL TO STARTER BECAUSE OF PLACEMENT IT GETS WET OR MOISTURE. WHICH MAKES THIS CAR QUESTIONABLE TO DRIVE.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TUMBLER IN THE IGNITION NEEDED TO BE LUBRICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
THERE IS A SMELL OF SMOKE INSIDE THE CAR. ALSO, THERE IS 6 TO 8 INCH HOLE IN THE ROOF LINING THAT HAS BEEN BURNED THROUGH!!! LUCKILY,THIS DIDNT HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING. WAS STILL IN THE HOME DRIVEWAY.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 87,245.
SHORTLY AFTER MY HUSBAND GOT HOME WE HEARD SOMEONE HONKING THEIR HORN OUTSIDE OF OUR APARTMENT, SO WE LOOKED AND OUR VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE. IT WAS PARKED AND NOT RUNNING WHEN IT HAPPENED.

THE FUSE BOX UNDER HOOD IS LABELED INCORRECTLY AND ON THE COVER STATES SPARE FUSES IN CAVITY 29 AND 30. HOWEVER, IT IS ACCTUALLY THE AIRBAGS WHICH IS WHY IT IS IN A YELLOW SAFETY HOLDER AND ALSO THE ORIGINAL MANUAL THAT COMES WITH THE JEEP STATES THAT IT IS THE AIRBAG. HOWEVER DIRECTLY ON THE BOX UNDER THE HOOD IT SAYS CAVITY 29 AND 30 ARE SPARES WHICH ARE CAUSING PEOPLE TO PULL THEM OUT AND USE THEM AS SPARES ELSEWHERE UNAWARE THAT THEY ARE IN DANGER
INTERMITTENT STALLING ISSUE. INITIALLY THE VEHICLE STARTS AND RUNS FINE. AFTER STOPPING OR EXTENDED DRIVING DURATION THE VEHICLE WILL RANDOM START STALLING AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FLASHES AND DINGS. THIS WILL LAST FOR A FEW MINUTES SOMETIMES AND OTHER TIMES THE ENTIRE TRIP. THE LAST FEW TIMES THIS HAS HAPPENED WE WERE NEARLY REAR ENDED AND PULLED OVER UNTIL IT WAS SOMEWHAT DRIVE ABLE. WHEN VEHICLE GOES OVER A SMALL OR LARGE BUMP, A DASHBOARD LIGHT CLUSTER INDICATES TO SERVICE 4WD SYSTEM AND IS ACCOMPANIED BY ABS, TRACTION CONTROL, AND ESP BAS WARNING LIGHTS. ABS IS NOTICEABLY DISABLED WHEN THIS LIGHT CLUSTER APPEARS. THE INDICATIONS USUALLY LAST A FEW MINUTES BEFORE GOING AWAY. THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING FOR APPROXIMATELY THE LAST 18,000 MILES. WHEN BROUGHT UP AT THE DEALERSHIP DURING ROUTINE MAINTENANCE, I AM TOLD THEY CAN FIND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. ON THIS LAST OCCASION, I LOST FULL BRAKING AUTHORITY AND WAS LUCKILY ABLE TO GRADUALLY SLOW DOWN AND PULL OVER TO THE FREEWAY SHOULDER WHILE APPLYING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS SHUT OFF AND TURNED BACK ON THE INDICATIONS WENT AWAY AND BRAKING WAS RESTORED. OBVIOUSLY, THIS CREATES A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
ALL DASHBOARD WARNING LIGHTS COME ON. LOSS OF ELECTRICAL POWER. NO HEADLIGHTS, NO BRAKE LIGHTS. SPEEDOMETER DOESN'T WORK, TACHOMETER DOESN'T WORK, RADIO DOESN'T WORK. NO POWER LOCKS OR WINDOWS. ANYTHING ELECTRICAL DOESN'T WORK. THE BATTERY IS GOOD. THE VEHICLE RUNS. BUT IT IS UNSAFE. THE VEHICLE IS CRAP. NEVER BUY A JEEP! THEY ARE TOTAL CRAP
WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLES ENGINE WILL SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING OR REASON. IT HAPPENS VERY RANDOMLY.
TRANSFER CASE, SUSPENSION AND IGNITION SWITCH SEEMS TO BE CAUSING MAJOR ISSUES AFTER 105,000 MILES AND THE "WARRANTY" JUST ENDED JUST BEFORE ALL THESE ISSUES STARTED HAPPENING. WHEN TRIED TO START ONCE THE ENGINE SHUTTERED THEN TURNED OFF. STARTED UP AFTER THAT, BUT THEN IT HAS ISSUES WANTING TO ACCELERATE AND CAN FEEL THE JEEP STRUGGLING AT TIMES TO SWITCH GEARS OR WHATEVER THE TRANSFER CASE MAY ASSIST IN. ALSO HAVE NOTICED THE SUSPENSION HAS START TO ROCK.

THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY PLACED THE CONTACT ON A WAITING LIST FOR THE PART, BUT DID NOT SPECIFY WHAT NUMBER THE CONTACT WAS PLACED ON THE LIST. WHILE WAITING FOR THE PART, A FAILURE PROGRESSED THAT CAUSED THE KEY NOT TO TURN OVER TO START THE VEHICLE. ALSO, THE SERVICE ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD SEVEN TSBS ON THE ENGINE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
RIDING DOWN RODE. SPEEDOMETER AND LIGHTS FAILED. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS AT THE SHOP THE WALKED AWAY TO FILE PAPERWORK AND AIRBAGS DEPLOYED ON THE VEHICLE. IT WAS THE RIGHT SIDE AIR CURTAIN. THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF THE UNIT. ACCORDING TO THE DEALERSHIP THE CAR WAS SITTING MOTIONLESS ON THE GARAGE FLOOR.

SO DANGEROUS. HAVE REPLACED PLUGS AND WIRES, OIL, CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR,ASD RELAY FUSE. NOW WHAT? SPENT NOW $ 2000 ON FIXES. DEALER CAN'T SOLVE IT. I READ OTHERS WITH SAME CAR HAVE THE SAME. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME I RECEIVE A LETTER ON THE MAIL FROM JEEP NAMED AS "IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL INFORMATION" STATING THAT MY CAR HAS BEEN RECALLED DUE TO A DEFECT RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY, MORE SPECIFICALLY: UNINTENDED CHANGE IN IGNITION SWITCH POSITION THAT IMPLIES A SAFETY RISK. I WENT ON THE SAFECAR.GOV SITE TO CONFIRM THE STATUS OF MY RECALL AND IT SAYS THAT THERE IS A RECALL IN EFFECT ON MY CAR MODEL BUT UNFORTUNATELY JEEP DOESN'T HAVE THE PART REPLACEMENT YET. I WANT THIS PROBLEM FIXED ASAP.
VEHICLE HAD AN IGNITION SWITCH RECALL (P41) WHICH WAS REPLACED BY DEALER. AFTER REPLACEMENT PART FAILED AND VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DEALER FOR REPAIR MARCH 4, 2017. DEALER INFORMED ME THAT THE REPLACED IGNITION COIL HAD FAILED AND THEY WOULD FURTHER REPAIR AS PART OF RECALL. VEHICLE, 7 WEEKS LATER, IS STILL NOT REPAIRED. I HAVE ESCALATED MY CASE FROM THE DEALERSHIP TO JEEP NATIONAL AND VEHICLE STILL NOT REPAIRED WITH NO UPDATE. I WAS INFORMED DURING THIS PROCESS THAT MY CAR IS A "ONE-OFF", THE REPLACEMENT RECALL PART THAT WAS INTENDED FOR MY VEHICLE DOES NOT WORK IN MY VEHICLE AND THAT JEEP IS FURTHER RESEARCHING HOW TO REPAIR. I AM FILING A COMPLAINT DUE TO TIMELINESS OF REPAIR. WHILE RECALL REPAIR HAS BEEN FREE OF CHARGE, ORIGINAL PART REPLACEMENT TOOK LESS THAN ONE DAY.
