I currently own 3 of the same vehicles myself, my husband and my son. Each of the vehicles have been experiencing electrical issues. I have taken all of the vehicles at some point back to the mechanic for repairs for this issue. It was only a temporary fix. Here are examples of some of the electrical issues. The blinkers and break lights may go out and not work while we are driving and some days they work just fine. But it has now become a safety hazard because we never know when they will work and are afraid to be hit by another car from the rear. Another example is when I am driving down the street all of the sudden the windows will automatically roll down by themselves. AFTER THE CODES SHOWED UP TOOK BACK TO SHOP AND HAD TO REPLACE ALL THE O2 SENORS AGAIN TO THE TUNE OF $500.00 PLUS LABOR. NOW SHOP IS TELLING ME THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE PMC AND IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED TO THE TUNE OF ANOTHER $450.00 PLUS LABOR.

PLUS THE A/C ISSUE UNDER THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT OVERHEATS AND MELTS THE MECHANISM AND CONTINUES TO BURN. WHEN I REPORTED THE ISSUE, NO WRECK WAS INVOLVED. SINCE REPORTING THE PROBLEM, THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT AND TOTALED. MY FIX APPARENTLY ALLOWED THE SEAT TO STAY ON THE FRAME BUT THE SEAT STILL BROKE. WIRES GET HOT THAT LEAD TO THE HEATER/AC FAN. THE INSULATION OF WIRE AND CONNECTOR MELTS. THIS CAUSES THE HEATER TO GO OFF AND BACK ON INTERMITTENTLY AND FREQUENTLY UNLESS YOU WIGGLE THE WIRES. THIS HAPPENED IN MODERATE TRAFFIC AROUND 10PM AND WAS ALMOST REARENDED BY A TRACTOR TRAILER THAT HAD TO MAKE AN ABRUPT MANEUVER TO AVOID ME. THIS WAS THE SAME KEY THAT CAME WITH THE CAR FROM THE FACTORY. THE JEEP HAS 160,000 ACCIDENT FREE MILES AND HAS ALWAYS BEEN MAINTAINED BY JEEP. I BOUGHT MY 02 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE IN 05 WITH ABOUT 50,000 MILES ON IT. SOMETIME IN 08 THE BLOWER MOTOR STARTED WORKING OFF AND ON. AFTER ABOUT 3 YEARS I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT THE MOST LIKELY CAUSE WAS THE BLOWER MOTOR RESISTER. AFTER CHECKING, I NOTICE THAT THE RESISTOR HARNESS HAD BEEN MELTED.
