Jaguar Can’t fix the battery fault issue with this issue. They have taken well over a year and half and nothing has happened in regards To them replacing the battery or repurchasing my vehicle for a reasonable amount
The contact owns a 2019 JAGUAR I-PACE. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V633000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). The local dealer was not contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact stated that the process was deceptive. The contact had not experienced a failure.
My vehicle experienced a persistent series of malfunctions over the course of its use, primarily related to the electric battery system. The most serious issue is a complete failure of the high-voltage battery, rendering the car entirely inoperable. The vehicle now displays a "Battery Fault" error message and cannot be started or driven. The manufacturer (Jaguar Land Rover) refuses to repair the vehicle under warranty while a buyback negotiation is underway, leaving me with an unusable and potentially unsafe EV. Despite repeated attempts to resolve the issue, no adequate repair or restitution has been provided. The vehicle is currently in my possession and available for inspection upon request. The vehicle's battery failure occurred without warning, and the car is now immobilized in a location where it could pose a hazard if not towed. The sudden loss of power and refusal to start could have placed me or others at risk...
I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding a safety-related recall (H514/H536) issued by Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC for my 2019 Jaguar I-PACE. While Jaguar acknowledged the defect and offered a vehicle repurchase, I believe their resolution places an unfair financial burden on me, the consumer, despite the defect being entirely manufacturer-related. Jaguar has offered me a “Statutory Refund” of $31,987.25, while my vehicle loan payoff is $44,060.98—leaving me responsible for $12,073.73 out of pocket. I find this unacceptable given that the defect is not due to misuse or wear but rather a confirmed manufacturer issue under NHTSA Safety Recall H514/H536. This situation has created significant financial stress and emotional strain. I have not been negligent or abusive with the vehicle. I am simply a consumer seeking safe and fair resolution. It seems inappropriate that I should be penalized for Jaguar’s faulty product by being left in...
We received a letter from Jaguar on 3/5/25 that our car has a fatal battery flaw that cannot be repaired which will necessitate a repurchase of the car. The flaw could result in a fire started by the battery. 7 weeks later and we have not been contacted by anyone from the third party group to start the process of the buyback of our recalled car. We proactively called the third party who confirmed they have our correct contact information. This concerns us greatly regarding the safety of our own property and our neighbors property since we live in a high risk wildfire district in Colorado. Every day that goes by is a day of worry that this car could put our family, neighbors and community at risk. Note: We did perform the prior recall repair (24V-633 or H514) which gates the charge to 80%. But that obviously isn’t the...
I bring to your attention the inappropriate handling of the 2019 IPACE buybacks by Jaguar Land Rover North America, JLR. I own a 2019 IPACE purchased new from Jaguar Fort Lauderdale. In Oct 2024 and Feb 2025, JLR abandoned its attempts to repair the defective batteries of these cars and filed recall notices H514 and H536 with the NHTSA. JLR offered to buy back all 2019 IPACE vehicles as a definitive solution to the battery safety issue. JLR has made take-it-or-leave-it offers based on the 10/24 Kelly Blue Book values to repurchase the cars. I consider the date and the KBB value to be irrelevant to the 2019 Jaguar IPACE issue. On March 6, 2025, JLR offered me 29% of the original purchase price to repurchase my vehicle. I did not accept the low offer because, under consumer protection and warranty laws, the car should be repurchased at its original value...
Received a system error "Gear box fault error". This is the second time I've received this message. The car makes a static noise that is loud. Also makes a loud grinding noise. Took car into local dealership for repair. Also received High Voltage error. Get the same Gear Box Fault error 3/6/25 . This time the car stop in the middle of the street. Luckily no one was injured or hurt.
I was notified on the 6th of November 2024 of a H514 safety Recall; it is now the 19th of February 2025 with no fix communicated. This is beyond what I believe is 'a reasonable amount of time' to remedy this defect.
Dear NHTSA, I am filing this complaint regarding my Jaguar I-PACE, which is subject to the recall for battery fire risks. I have attempted to work with Jaguar regarding a vehicle repurchase, but they have failed to provide a clear timeline or next steps. On [XXX], at 11:13 AM, I spoke with Jaguar Customer Care, and they informed me that someone would contact me but did not provide a timeframe. Today, I followed up again at 1:29 PM and 2:09 PM, only to be told that there was no email address available to escalate my concerns and that I would be contacted at an unspecified time. This lack of communication and transparency is unacceptable, given the serious safety concerns involved in this recall. I am requesting NHTSA’s intervention to ensure that Jaguar follows proper procedures and provides affected owners with a timely resolution, including repurchase options where applicable. I believe...
I was informed over three months ago of the battery problem with a chance of fires. I’ve been calling JLR, and keep getting told the same thing: that they are in the process of reaching out to customers to buy back the vehicles since they can’t fix the problem, and “someone should be in touch in about 2 weeks”. Nobody has contacted me via either phone or email. My last calls to them were on 1/31 and 2/15. Same response. Given this is a serious condition, how can they wait for 3 months?? I would like to get to resolution soon so that there are no safety issues that I have to constantly worry about.
After my Jaguar IPace was reprogrammed by the dealer for the 5th time in December, my mirrors have folding out issues, lane assist is malfunctioning, and there is a "coolant" warning and "service required" warning lights on my dash (Again). The Jaguar dealer has no information on and further updates or battery replacement. This car is now parked outside in case it catches fire per my recall instructions from Jaguar. How do I get a remedy for this?
Jaguar contacted me multiple times now about safety recalls. Subsequently they performed a service which reduced the range of the EV from 230 miles to 170 miles, rendering it largely unusable for my driving needs. In addition according to their latest document, the “fix” may not eliminate the fire risk as we use the car. I have contacted them for 3 times now and they keep saying “soon” I will be contacted about a buy back because they are unable to fix the car and return it to spec. The car was also still in warranty. I do not believe JLR is proceeding at a reasonable pace as months have gone by since the earliest notices, not only inconveniencing and effectively defrauding its customers but also keeping our safety at risk. I am hoping NHTSA can intervene with Jaguar to do the right thing and honor their commitment to NHTSA...
Jaguar notified owners of the recall's temporary fix and the ultimate remedy of buyback going back some months. The notice included contact information for Jaguar Relationship Centre. I have reached out on multiple occasions to the contact information provided in the recall notice to gain clarity on the buyback process and been told that the department we were told to contact has no information and can't help. To date, I've paid for out of pocket expenses incurred with the ownership of a car that will be bought back, have seen a depreciation in value of the vehicle which likely impacts the ultimate buyback price and have been provided zero information on when this process should be completed or how it will be completed. Jaguar has failed to remedy the specifics of the H514 recall in a timely fashion, now adding an H536 recall. Further the contact information they provided led...
No response from Jaguar Land Rover on this issue. I've emailed them and called countless times since before Christmas when I had the H514 update, leaving my expensive electric car basically useless.
My vehicle is part of the jaguar recall H514. I have started the buyback process with jaguar and they are being slow and now I have a car that is only charging to 80% and I am scared to drive it. when I reach out to Jaguar they tell there is a process and that this will all take time. My issues is that it was me who started the process and per your recall notice they were supposed to contact vehicle owners and begin the process. It seems like its cut and dry and there toll free customer service line is not helpful.
The car burst into flames and burnt up.
Car will not charge over 72%. Dealer and Manufacturer are aware of the problem but have no answer on when they will fix the issue.
Since April of this year, the car has consistently had problems! A few months ago, it started turning off suddenly!! Yes, suddenly even while driving! This was very alarming. I took it to the dealer in Cincinnati where it stayed for almost a month to be fixed! Then towards the end of August, it started running out of charge / not charging after driving a few miles with a dashboard warning to "stop immediately". I again shipped it to the dealer in Cincinnati where it has been there since then (over 6 weeks now!) Talking to the dealer, they do not seem to be certain of what happened and keep changing things. I am not sure if I feel safe driving such a car or owning it beyond the warranty
ON FEBRUARY 12, 2020, I LEFT THE HOUSE AROUND 9:15 A.M. TO ATTEND A YOGA CLASS AT 9825 CARROLL CENTRE ROAD, SUITE 400, SAN DIEGO. THE YOGA STUDIO IS LOCATED IN A COMMERCIAL DISTRICT AND AS I WAS EARLY, THE ENTIRE PARKING LOT WAS EMPTY EXCEPT FOR ONE OTHER VEHICLE AT APPROXIMATELY 9:30 AM THAT MORNING. SO I DROVE AROUND IN FRONT OF THE BUILDING, #9825, AND DECIDED TO PARK ON THE OTHER SIDE FROM THE ONE VEHICLE PARKED THERE. SEE FIGURE 1. (SEE MAP OF 9825 CARROLL CENTER ROAD LOCATION. THE RED RECTANGLE SHOWS WHERE I PARKED; BLUE RECTANGLE SHOWS WHERE THE ONLY OTHER VEHICLE WAS IN THE PARKING LOT AT 9:30 AM ON WEDNESDAY, 2/12/20.) AS I SLOWLY PULLED INTO THE PARKING SPOT, WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AS ONE DOES WHEN PARKING, THE JAGUAR I-PACE SUDDENLY SURGED AND ACCELERATED, DRIVING OVER THE CURB AND HEDGE...
SINCE I PURCHASED JAGUAR I-PACE I BEEN HAVING BATTER FAULT ISSUES WHICH NOW STANDARD ME WITH THE VEHICLE. I RECEIVE BATTERY FAULT ERRORS AND THE CAR STOPS WORKING. THE CAR STAYS ON BUT WHEN YOU PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE OR REVERSE AND HIT THE GAS PEDAL NOTHING HAPPENS. ITS VERY DANGEROUS AS THE CAR SHOULD NOT JUST STOP FROM DRIVING WHEN YOU HIT THE GAS. WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE CAR IS WORKING IN TERMS OF AIR CONDITION, STEERING WHEEL ETC.... ALSO THERE IS CONSTANT ERRORS WHEN IT COMES TO BLIND SPOT ALERT. THE VEHICLE TELLS YOU THEY ARE DISABLED, IF YOU RESTART THE VEHICLE IT RESENTS BUT COMES BACK. ALSO THE DASHBOARD SOMETIMES JUST GOES BLANK AND WILL COME BACK A FEW MINUTES LATER. ITS SCARY AS YOU SUDDENLY DONT KNOW HOW FAST YOUR GOING OR WHAT IS GOING ON TILL THE SCREEN COMES BACK FEW SECONDS LATER. THE...
