2019 HONDA PILOT Back Over Prevention Warnings Problems

Backup camera shows distorted colors and no longer usable to identify objects in the rear of the vehicle. Additionally all backup sensors no longer activated when objects are behind the vehicle. Since there are massive blind spots behind the vehicle this is an accident waiting to happen. This was observed by dealership and recommended that the camera be replaced at owner expense. Still pending fix due to cost. This appears to be a common problem with 2019 Honda Pilot models.

On going issues with 2019 Hondas and their reverse cameras dying after warranty expires. Lots of complaints, not associated to cable recalls. Documented history of color on backup camera going sepia/florescent. Previous complaints to NHTSA made.

Overblown colorful backup camera image. Backup camera stopped working properly on 2019 Honda Pilot Elite SUV. Image has very bright red yellow and purple colors (like night vision) and the rear image is no longer legible. This is now a safety hazard as the driver is unable to view people, vehicles, and other obstructions while backing up the SUV. Need Honda to cover the repair and replacement of the backup camera under warranty. The backup camera image is distorted and the coloring is wrong (green and purple) and you cannot see the image from the camera. When researching online, there are numerous reports of 2019 Honda Pilot with similar issues. This situation happens when moving in reverse when the backup camera is on.

THE INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONS AND BACK-UP CAMERA DOESN'T WORK. THE ENTIRE SYSTEM CONCERNING THE SAFETY FEATURES DOESN'T WORK WHEN THE INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONS. WE HAVE TAKEN OUR CAR TO HAVE THE ISSUE REPAIRED MULTIPLE TIMES, BUT NOTHING THE DEALERSHIP HAS DONE HAS PROVIDED A PERMANENT FIX. THIS HAPPENS SPORADICALLY WHETHER THE CAR IS STATIONARY OR IN MOVEMENT. THIS HAS BEEN ONGOING SINCE WE PURCHASED THE CAR IN JANUARY 2019.
