the front monocular camera is defective causing the safety features (adaptive cruise control, collision warning, lane shift warning, auto brights, auto braking) to not function at all. This seems to be a known issue with many honda owners. The warnings show every time I start the van. This issue has been verified and the repair is costly.

Multiple Honda Sensing safety systems (collision mitigation, lane keeping, road departure, adaptive cruise, and auto high‑beam) disabled suddenly on 2020 Honda Odyssey EX‑L around 76,000 mi. Dealer and two independent diagnostics confirmed DTC U3000‑49, internal electronic failure of the forward recognition camera. The fault disables all automatic braking and lane‑keeping functions. Battery voltage and calibration verified OK; component failure is internal. Honda quoted ~$2,000 repair. This is a significant safety risk since all advertised crash‑avoidance functions stop working.

I am submitting this complaint to report a serious safety defect involving my Honda Odyssey equipped with Honda Sensing technology. During normal operation and without any accident, impact, windshield damage, repair, or environmental event, all Honda Sensing safety systems suddenly and simultaneously stopped working. The disabled systems include Collision Mitigation Braking System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, Road Departure Mitigation, Forward Collision Warning, and related camera- and radar-based features. Multiple warning messages appeared, and the vehicle effectively lost all advanced driver-assistance and collision-avoidance capabilities at once. The Multipurpose Camera Unit has failed resulting in loss of Adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, Automatic braking and other features related to the MCU. The dealer inspected the car and confirmed the issue was a bad camera. There are approximately 6 warnings when starting the car of features not working, and 3 lights that remain lit on the dash including "Brake System".

Multi-Purpose camera has failed according to Honda dealership. No safety features work in the car. You pay for the car to have these features and then they fail after only 3 years? I’m have had trouble with the infotainment center since less than 5,000 miles. Supposedly it was fixed during a recall. I still have issues with it. The multipurpose camera in mounted underneath the rearview mirror stopped working. No apparent reason for the malfunction to shut the vehicle off while filling gas and then five different warning lights occurred, including issues with lane keep assist, adaptive, cruise control, automatic, breaking, and several other safety features no explanation for the failure when that vehicle was taken to the dealer and currently being charged $2500 for a replacement of the camera and labor associated with the repair. My belief is that the system is malfunctioning due to overheating, which is a design issue associated with the vehicle and isn’t something that I should be responsible for.

Front facing camera went out on a 2020 model. Several warning lights appear related to lane assist, front collision warnings, and automatic emergency braking. These safety features are important, and Honda should issue a recall. The camera is around $800 to replace, plus another $800-$1000 to install and calibrate. Over 8 multiple safety warnings turned up on dashboard on many occasions while driving. The multifunction forward looking camera in the top of the windshield developed an "internal fault" and either needs replacement or these safety features will fail to work. Camera sensor fails from time to time and break system light come on. This is reported to happen on most Honda from 2018 to current model.

The multicamera display unit is defective. It operates several systems and cause multiple warning issues. I believe the design is flawed. In addition to the warnings, both the display for driving information ( speed, rpm, temp, etc.) go blank and the AV unit (radio, entertainment, etc) shuts off too.

It’s starting raining and the brake system light came on and hasn’t went off.

I was driving, and there was a car coming from the opposite direction in their own lane, and nowhere near my car, and the automatic braking slammed on the brakes. This was just the worst instance of it malfunctioing.

Our vehicle is only a few years old and the front camera failed. It will not do any Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, etc. Honda refuses to cover this even though it is a manufacturer defect.

Was driving to work while raining.hit a water puddle hydroplaned, The stop brake warning light came,vehiical slammed on the brakes, and the steering wheel locked up. The contact stated while the vehicle was at a complete stop at the traffic light, the collision mitigation braking system (CMBS) warning light illuminated and a message indicating to shift to park(P) was displayed. While driving at various speeds, my vehicle will intermittently brake without warning on its own. The brake warning symbol will flash on the instrument panel and the steering wheel shakes. The surprise and unexpected braking caused me alarm as well as my passengers who did not understand why the vehicle suddenly braked for no apparent reason. Continuously intermittent lose of all main dash board information to include speed, all advanced safety features, display goes totally black. Continuously intermittent lose of infotainment system. Includes radio, gps, backup camera and all other options.

While parking and approaching another car in a parking lot, the van automatic braking system randomly started blinking and the brakes automatically applied, pulsating and grinding loudly for several seconds for no reason. I believe my safety and my passengers safety was at risk. The problem was random and not reproduced since it happened. The vehicle was not inspected. No warning lamps or symptoms appeared prior to this occurring and have not occurred since. It was a scary experience, I assumed it was some kind of electronic glitch.

On several occasions our honda van has slammed on the brakes without any vehicle or obstacle present. MY DRIVING HABIT OF LEAVING LARGE GAP BETWEEN VEHICLE SAVED MY LIFE. IT TOOK APPROXIMATELY 1/3 OR 0.33 MILE TO BRING CAR TO STOP. I SAVED MY LIFE ALONG WITH OTHER ON ROAD ON THIS INCIDENT. VAN IS PARKED IN GARAGE AND NOT BEING DRIVEN UNTIL HONDA NORTH AMERICA AND/OR NHTSA | NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION INSPECT THE VEHICLE.
