The multipurpose camera that works to provide all the safety features failed In less than 8 years. These should be lasting for the life of the vehicle. There should be a recall for this.

We turned the car on and got an ACC, LKAS, FCS, AHL errors due to the front sensor and the camera failing. This is an issue that many Honda owners are dealing with. The issue will not allow you to use cruise control and will disable 90% of the safety features we bought this vehicle for. The car drives fine but the safety of those in the car is affected by this error and needs to be recalled due to the number of complaints of this issue. There were no errors or warning signs prior to this happening.

Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, and Lane Departure Warning systems stopped working simultaneously without warning. Upon further investigation, failure of the forward-facing camera is the likely root cause. Based on conversations in internet discussion forums [XXX] , [XXX] ), this is a common failure. There was a recall for the Odyssey to fix a wiring harness issue that could affect the back-up camera. I believe loss of the Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, and Lane Departure Warning systems is much more serious, with potentially catastrophic consequences. Since evidence suggests failure of the forward-facing camera happens frequently, I believe this issue should be treated with the same gravity as the back-up camera and a recall should be issued. Suddenly one day in the morning taking my car from my garage, all alarms in my board turned on and stopped working: Automatic emergency braking, blind spot warning, forward and collision warning, lane departure warning, lane keeping assistance and rear cross traffic warning. I bring my car to the McLarty Honda service in Little Rock, AR. After calibration showed that I need a new multipurpose camera code U 3000-49. This is major concern for me. My van is in perfect shape, only 7 years old not so many miles. Doing some research sounds like this is an issue with Honda vehicles. My neighborhood is full of kids ( I have 3 kids too)with these large vehicles you can find a lot of blinds spots and these features help to keep everybody safe. I believe this a safety issue that need to be recalled in Honda's cars.

Camera that controls ACC LKAS, Lane Departure, collision mitigation system, auto high bean, and braking system alerts kick out intermittently and fail to function while driving.

The windshield monocular camera is completely non functional causing several dashboard errors to appear. It very disheartening as this is such a known issue within the Honda Odyssey community and very expensive to replace and get calibrated after replacement. This should be recalled since so many are having this issue. Clearly this is a fault of Honda. It seems that the camera can get too hot being in the windshield and just doesn't work. A big reason why I wanted this vehicle was because of these sensors. Now I can't use them.

Hello, My front collision camera is not working and I am getting all sorts of safety related error codes. I took it to Honda for an evaluation and they told me I would need to $1300 to fix part number 36160-THR-A74. As of now all the safety features have been disabled. The camera started malfunctioning and now I have a bunch of warning lights on the dash. I think is crazy that a lot of people have the same issue and still there is no recalls for it. Is a MAJOR safety issue.

The monocular camera installed in the front windshield over time going bad. It happen because in California always sun overheating the car when car is parked and it overheat camers components and it failed. On September 1, 2025 the front windshield camera on my 2018 Honda Odyssey failed, part #36160-THR-A03-M1, resulting in the loss of many of my vehicle’s safety features including: adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane departure warning and lane keep assistance. Multipurpose camera behind the front windshield was inspected by Honda dealership. They were able to verify it had a fault and needed to be replaced at a cost of around $1700. This camera controls many of the safety features this van advertises such as the the Lane Keep Assist and Collision Mitigation. While researching online, I was able to find multiple owners of the 2018-2019 Honda Odyssey that have had this same issue. Ebay has recently sold 3 of these cameras that have been salvaged from donors. This is an ongoing issue that Honda has not rectified. I believe this should absolutely be recalled.

The automatic braking system beeped alert then applied brakes when I was going around a sharp curve, with cars behind me. Luckily they were far enough behind that they didn't hit me. Driving on the freeway my lane keeping assistance, automatic emergency breaking, and adaptive cruise control warnings were flashing. The prompts keep my focus off the road as the beeps and flashing orange lights cannot be disabled. During my drive, the multicamera on the windshield seems to be malfunctions and often I would get a signal of on coming traffic and my steering wheel would vibrate to prompt me to move. This can be extremely terrifying and sometimes caused me to swerve, potentially hitting other cars. The multicamera needs to be recalled and fixed.

To repair, the quote for the unit itself was $1201.34 plus tax. Calibration was an additional $660.00. I found the unit online at a better price and so purchased it and had the Dealer install. UNKNOWN - Internet says the camera is faulty. Dealer told me faulty injectors. There was a separate recall for the injectors which my VIN "wasn't affected"

The front camera has failed resulting in safety concerns including braking system and cruise control failure. This is a known issue with many new Honda Odysseys and needs to be recalled as it is not safe to drive as it disables all honda sensing and auto braking components on the vehicle.

Upon startup of the vehicle the following Warnings flash on the dash: "Auto High-Beam Problem, ACC Adaptive Cruise Control Problem, LKAS Lane keeping Assist Problem, Collision Mitigation System Problem, Road Departure Mitigation System Problem." This problem is easily reproduced and occurs almost every time I start my vehicle. I had my battery tested and it was reported to be GOOD. The vehicle still drives correctly, but none of the safety features listed above work. If these features are going to be mandated on newer vehicles they should be reliable and function correctly. Why has there not been a recall on Honda Odyssey's multi camera in windshield - it seems this is happening to many autos. These are ALL Safety issues that should be resolved by Honda. Multipurpose camera failure. Warnings appeared upon failure after being parked in the shade on a moderately warm day ~80 degrees. Warnings with chimes reappear after being cleared, causing distraction while driving. Safety systems are inoperable without expensive camera replacement. Systems disabled as a result include Adaptive Cruise Control, Collision Mitigation System, Lane Keeping Assist, Road Departure Mitigation, Auto High Beam system.

The adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, and other safety functions associated with the front camera failed. These safety features are a huge part of the vehicle and doesn't feel safe to drive. The front camera has failed in under 6 years and is currently being replaced by the dealer to hopefully fix these issues. The repair is not covered by Honda.

Failure of the Front windshield mounted monocular camera from overheating causes all advanced driver assistance systems to shut down such as automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane assist, etc. This is a very common occurrence in not just the Honda Odyssey, but other Honda models as well. A new part can be anywhere from one to two thousand requiring dealer calibration. The heat from the sun, the location of the monocular camera and possible contribution from replaced non-OEM windshields may contribute to the overheating. With all safety devices disabled, the vehicle becomes unsafe to operate requiring immediate attention and dealer only service since a new device requires calibration.

Prior to purchasing this vehicle, On the test drive, the vehicle slammed on the brakes for no good reason. The dealer assured me the collision mitigation braking system (“CMBS”) can be turned off, so I bought the car. I then learned that the CMBS automatically turns on every time the engine is turned on. I must shut CMBS off each and every time I start the car, but since my other car is a Tesla (which doesn’t have this problem), sometimes I do forget to shut off CMBS. The forward camera malfunctions and causes the Cruise Control, Lane Assist, and Emergency Breaking to be inoperative. After looking online, this is a frequent issue for this van. I believe it is related to the recent recall because it was functioning perfectly until right after we had the recall repaired.

Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) Road Departure Mitigation System (RDM) Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) We have not taken it into Honda yet as it's out of warranty and the fix is replacing/reaiming the Carmera that is located near the rear view mirror. The car has been scanned with a scan tool and it comes up with errors regarding the front camera MCU. Upon inspection the front camera is extremely hot to the touch. The errors sometimes stay on for weeks & may go off for a minute or two then come right back. Without this functioning properly the above car features (which can be safety releated) do not work & does effect the safetly of passengers in the car. It is available for inspection as it's very easy to get to.

I took it to the honda dealership and they found that it was an internal front multi purpose camera failure that caused all these features to not work which i was told is a safety issue because the seat belts may not engage or other safety features. I have heard of this front multi purpose camera failure multiple times for the odyssey. There were no warning before failure. I do have the failed component in my posession. It has now been replaced and the issue resolved

I started the vehicle and it displayed a message on the infotainment system screen that the system had lost power. I believed that this would only affect the radio functionality which I was not concerned about immediately. I placed the vehicle in reverse and I accidentally backed up into a parked car. At no point before the accident did I realize the rear camera did not work and the collision assistance sensors did not function. I believe if the collision avoidance system was working correctly my accident would have been prevented. I have come to depend on the safety features of this vehicle. I know that this is not an issue with my car battery as I recently had a Honda dealer install a new battery prior to this accident and the vehicle started normally.

10/4/2023 (55K miles), the vehicle suddenly lost power at interstate speed and dropped to three cylinders. Warning lights came on disabling all automatic safety systems. I took the vehicle to a parts store and OBD indicated an oil pressure sensor in VTEC Bank 1. After restarting the vehicle I once again had all 6 cylinders, but all safety systems failures were still indicated on the dash. I replaced the battery (5.5 years old) and all systems returned to normal. After a the PGM-FI update for idle stop issues (recall) was performed at the dealer on 1/31/2024, two days later (2/2/2024) the previous event recurred resulting in severe loss of power and all safety systems indicating failure. I replaced the 4 month old battery under warranty believing the battery had failed prematurely. The problem did not resolve after replacing the battery and multiple restarts.
