The tailgate door doesn’t open normally sometime I have to push the button more than 10 times then it open but most of the time it doesn’t open.I use this car as a spare or for emergency only so I just wait for Honda to recall, hopefully I don’t want to spend a lot of money to fix because the warranty has expired (41 months but only 25000 miles)but now I use this car every day
Noticed one day that passenger seat had burn marks. Have smelt on occasion what seemed to be burning smells in the past. Don’t use the seat heater there since that was noticed. This is a danger.
From the moment we drove off the lot, this car had had one issue after another, nearly cause me to lose my job because I couldn’t make it to work due to the car being busted. It was getting really bad MPGs, they said it’s fine. It started overheating, they said the coolant fans and radiator cap were what was wrong, for a long while now the Tire pressure management system has been ON, 24/7, my tires are not low. I bought new tires for the CRV. The mechanics don’t really seem interested in fixing anything.
We have to jump start our vehicle every time it is cold outside. Sometimes when it is warmer. Occasionally hear ticking sound inside of fuse box. Headlights have to be replaced often. Major electrical issue with this vehicle.
The lock actuator is malfunctioning. When driving, the driver's door unlocks and the lights turn on overhead, and the "door ajar" light blinks and beeps. This is very unsafe, as the driver side door unlocks and stays unlocked while driving on the highway and also at slower speeds.
My 2014 Honda CR-V EX does not initially start-up following the 3-step starting the engine process as outlined on page 239 of the CR-V owner's manual.It sometimes takes up to 6 to 12 times for the engine to engage.The starter appears to be defective as it was made.
Key fob stopped working. Doors continuously lock and unlock on their own whether it’s parked, driving, engine off or on and occupied or vacant. Replaced fob battery but all problems still exist including key fob nog working. Recall and class action suit settled for prior years but not 2014. Same problem. Honda needs to fix this issue
The contact owns a 2014 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while parked and attempting to open the rear lift gate, the lift gate failed to open. The contact stated while depressing the button on the rear hatch handle in cold weather, the lift gate failed to open. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to diagnose the failure as they were attempting to diagnose the failure in a warm shop. The contact stated that the rear lift gate electrical mechanism in the handle was replaced; however, the failure recurred in cold weather. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic who replaced the lift gate electrical mechanism a second time. The contact stated that the failure persisted in cold weather. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was unknown.
1) The system is draining the battery while at rest. Have replaced battery 3 times, including last one several months ago. Dealership cannot fix. Safety: Getting stranded is a huge safety issue. 2) Car shimmies accelerating uphill. Dealer cannot seem to duplicate. Safety: Affects confidence while driving. 3) Tire pressure sensor is constantly firing off.
Two times in the past seven years, the starter of the car has required to be replaced. There seem to be thousands of similar complaints about the problem with the starter for the 2014 Honda CRV.

A FEW MONTHS AFTER BUYING THIS USED VEHICLE IN 2018, MY FIRST HONDA, I STARTED HAVING BATTERY ISSUES. I WOULD DRIVE THE CAR TO WORK, AND WHEN LEAVING, 9ISH HOURS LATER, THE CAR WOULDN'T START. I HAD TO CALL FOR A JUMP START AT LEAST 6 TIMES IN ONE MONTH. I THOUGHT BECAUSE IT WAS A SUCH A COLD WINTER, THIS MAY BE AFFECTING THE VEHICLE'S ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, SO I BOUGHT A PORTABLE JUMP STARTER, WHICH I HAD TO USE A FEW OTHER TIMES. I HAVE SEARCHED ONLINE AND SEE THAT MANY 2014 HONDA CRV'S HAVE THE HEATING ISSUE DESCRIBED IN TSB 14-063 (NHTSA ID: 10120775 AND 10118028). MY 2014 CRV SUFFERS FROM THE SAME ISSUE. TO BE PRECISE, THE VENT ALL THE WAY TO THE LEFT OF THE CAR (DRIVER'S SIDE) DOES NOT BLOW HOT AIR. ALL THREE VENTS TO THE RIGHT SEEM TO BLOW FINE.
WHILE IT IS STATIONARY, THE TAILGATE CANNOT BE OPEN EXTERNALLY WHEN IN COLD TEMPERATURE LIKE 35 DEGREES. THERE IS NO WAY TO OPEN IT INSIDE AND THUS NO WAY TO ESCAPE THROUGH THE TAILGATE FROM INSIDE. MY VEHICLE WAS STALLED IN THE EARLY MORNING OF JULY 17, 2019 IN A PARKING LOT AND TOWED TO A HONDA DEALERSHIP NEARBY. THE MECHANIC'S DIAGNOSIS WAS THAT THE VEHICLE STALL WAS CAUSED BY THE SHORTAGE OF ALL FUSES IN THE PRIMARY FUSE BOX DUE TO LEAKING OIL FROM THE TIMING CHAIN COVER OF THE ENGINE. THE MECHANIC MENTIONED THAT THE OIL LEAK OCCURRED FOR A WHILE SO IT SHORTED OUT THE FUSES THROUGH THE INCASED ELECTRICAL WIRES. I THINK THAT IT DEFINITELY IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE MY LIFE COULD BE IN A DANGER IF THE SHORTAGE OCCURRED WHEN I DROVE THIS VEHICLE ON THE HIGHWAY. I HAD MY TIRES ROTATED AND CAR SERVICED ON 6/21/19 AND ON 6/22/19 MY TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON AFTER DRIVING ONLY 2 MILES ON THE INTERSTATE. I PULLED OVER AND CHECKED MY TIRES AND ALL WERE AT 40LBS. I RESET THE TIRE PRESSURE CENSURE, AND A FEW DAYS LATER I WAS YET AGAIN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. I CHECK MY PRESSURE AGAIN AND ALL WERE 40LBS. BEFORE MY TIRES WERE ROTATED MY LIGHT NEVER CAME ON, AND NOW IT COMES ON AT LEAST 2-3 TIMES A WEEK. NOT SURE IF IT IS THE SENSOR THAT HAS GONE BAD OR IF THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH HOW THE TIRES ARE ROTATING. MY CAR HAS 34,500 MILES ON IT. CHECK TIRE LIGHT ONLY COMES ON WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT; NO POT HOLES WERE HIT AND THE ROADS WERE NOT UNEVEN.
BATTERY PROVIDED VERY SLOW STARTS AND OTHER ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC ANOMALIES ON A NUMBER OF OCCASIONS WITHIN A MONTH OR SO PRIOR TO TESTING AND REPLACEMENT ON 01/24/17. VEHICLE (AND THE OEM BATTERY) HAD 22,119 MILES AT TIME OF FAILURE, AND HAD BEEN IN SERVICE FOR APPR. 17 MONTHS. NO EVIDENCE OF ABUSE. HONDA REIMBURSED FOR DIAGNOSIS & REPLACEMENT AT INDEPENDENT SHOP.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS DID NOT PROVIDE WIDE RANGE LIGHTING AND PREVENTED THE CONTACT FROM SEEING A PEDESTRIAN IN THE DISTANCE. THE CONTACT WAS ONLY ABLE TO SEE PEDESTRIANS AT A CLOSE DISTANCE WITH THE LOW BEAMS ACTIVATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 28,000.
BATTERY DIES RANDOMLY AND CAR WILL NOT START WITHOUT A JUMP. DEALERSHIPS COULD NOT FIND PROBLEM WITH BATTERY OR CAR. AFTER A YEAR OR SO OF THIS HONDA REPLACED BATTERY. THE COMPASS INDICATOR LIGHT WILL CONTINUOUSLY FLASH THE WRONG DIRECTION. THIS CAN HAPPEN WHEN STARTING THE CAR AS WELL AS WHEN THE CAR IS RUNNING EITHER IN MOTION OR STATIONARY. FOLLOWING THE RECALIBRATION INSTRUCTIONS IN THE MANUAL (DRIVING SLOWLY IN TIGHT CIRCLES) WILL USUALLY FIX THE PROBLEM TEMPORARILY. THIS FIX MAY LAST A DAY OR AS LITTLE AS 10 MINUTES.

THIS PROBLEM STARTED IN DECEMBER 2016 AFTER MY VEHICLE REACHED APPROX 12,000 MILES. IT'S LIKE A GRINDING SOUND AND IS ONLY ON FOR A FEW SECONDS. MY LOCAL DEALER SAID IT IS NORMAL WITH HONDA. TPMS LIGHT COMES ON EVERY TIME I DRIVE OVER 60 MPH FOR MORE THAN A FEW MILES. THE BUMPIER THE ROAD, THE SOONER THE LIGHT COMES ON. ALL AIR PRESSURES ARE CORRECT PER MANUFACTURER RECOMMENDATIONS.

THE PASSENGER DOOR WILL NO OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE OR INSIDE WHEN THE DOOR IS UNLOCKED. BEING PARKED AT HOME, I WENT TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE AND WAS UNSUCCESSFUL. DEALERSHIP SAYS THE DOOR ACTUATOR IS OUT AND THEY SEE THIS ON HONDA'S VERY FREQUENTLY. I CONSIDER THIS A MAJOR SAFETY FEATURE AND FEEL IT SHOULD HAVE ALREADY BEEN RECALLED IF IT HAS BEEN KNOWN. APPARENTLY THIS IS NOT UNCOMMON FOR HONDA'S AND THEY HAVE HAD A RECALL ON THIS IN PRIOR YEAR MODELS.

OUT OF THE BLUE, MY HONDA CR-V 2014 WON'T START, I HAVE TO JUMP IT, AND WENT TO THE AUTO PARTS STORE, GOT MY BATTERY CHECK OUT AND EVERYTHING LEVEL OF THE BATTERY CAME BACK NORMAL. LUCKY ME, IT WAS HAPPENED ON THE WEEKEND AND I HAD SOMEONE WHO HAPPENED TO BE AROUND AND HELP ME. I WAS SO AFRAID THAT IT COULD HAPPENED TO ME ANY TIME, SO I DECIDED TO BUY A NEW BATTERY. MAYBE THE CASHIER THINKING I HAD ENOUGH MONEY TO WASTE AND NOT WORRY ABOUT BURNING MY MONEY FOR UNNECESSARY THINGS. I PAID: $144.93 (TAX INCLUDED) I DON'T THINK THIS IS ACCEPTABLE FOR A 2 YEARS OLD CAR AND BATTERY TEST CAME OUT NORMAL, NOT WEAK. HOPE THIS IS NOT A MAJOR THING, BUT WHO KNOWS.

WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY DID SOMETHING TO MAKE THE LIGHT INDICATING THE TIRES NEEDED TO BE INFLATED TURN OFF. IN ABOUT TWO MONTHS AFTER THAT, THE LIGHT TURNED ON AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND WHEN WE TURNED ON THE IGNITION, IT HAPPENED AGAIN. THIS TIME WE HAVE IGNORED IT. SINCE WE DO NOT HAVE TIME TO BE TAKING IT INTO THE DEALER, IT REMAINS ON WHENEVER WE DRIVE THE VEHICLE. IT IS ANNOYING AND CAN BE DANGEROUS.
SINCE WE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE (NEW) IT MAKES PERIODIC ELECTRICAL SHORTING NOISES WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE (TURNING THE IGNITION KEY). THERE IS OBVIOUSLY AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM WITH THE IGNITION SWITCH. IT DOESN'T HAPPEN EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE IS STARTED, BUT MANY TIMES. OUR FAMILY IS AFRAID THE VEHICLE IS EVENTUALLY GOING TO SHOCK OUR HANDS - THE VEHICLE NOW HAS ABOUT 15K MILES ON IT BUT IT HAS HAPPENED SINCE THE VEHICLE CAME FROM THE DEALERSHIP.

WE HAVE 4 INSTANCES WHERE WE HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO START THE CRV BECAUSE OF A LOW BATTERY PROBLEM. THIS NECESSITATED USING A JUMP STARTER TO START THE CAR. I HAVE MEASURED THE VOLTAGE WITH A MULTI METER AND AFTER DRIVING FOR A WHILE THE VOLTAGE WILL BE ABOUT 12.4 VOLTS AND THE NEXT MORNING IT WILL BE ABOUT 11.8. MY LOAD TESTER INDICATED A WEAK RATING. SO OBVIOUSLY IT APPEARED TO ME THAT THE BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. BOUGHT THE CAR TO HONDA SUBARU OF SANTA FE IN NM ON 4/20/16 AND DEALT WITH JAMES THE SERVICE MANAGER. HE SAID THAT THEY PERFORMED A SOFTWARE UPDATE TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM AND THAT THE BATTERY OPERATED WITHIN SPECS. UPON ARRIVING HOME, 100 MILES AWAY, THE SAME SUB STANDARD CONDITION REOCCURRED. MY ELDERLY MOTHER DIED IN A FIRE IN HER 2014 HONDA CR-V. THERE WERE NO WITNESSES TO THE ORIGIN OF THE FIRE. THE CAR WAS FIRST SEEN WHEN FULLY ENGULFED BY FLAME, 10 TO 20 MINUTES AFTER MY MOTHER WAS SEEN GETTING INTO HER CAR. UNKNOWN IF SHE LET IT IDLE BEFORE DRIVING. SHE DROVE ABOUT 1200 FEET. I BOUGHT MY CAR BRAND NEW AT THE END OF 2013. ON OLD MORNING AND SPORADICALLY AND COOL MORNINGS IN THE SPRING AND FALL THERE IS A LOUD GRINDING SOUND UNDER THE HOOD. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST TWICE SINCE THE FIRST INCIDENT. IT WAS BROUGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP THE NEXT TIME AND WE WERE TOLD THE TIRE PRESSURE ON ALL 4 TIRES WAS FINE AND THEY CANCELED THE WARNING LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD. ALL OF THIS AT NO COST TO US. THE THIRD TIME IT HAPPENED I CANCELED THE WARNING LIGHT.
