I STARTED MY CAR UP IN THE MORNING AND WARMED IT UP FOR ABOUT 15 MINUTES THEN AS I GO TO PUT IT IN REVERSE THE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON I THEN PUT MY CAR IN PARK AND TURNED IT OFF THEN I TURNED IT BACK ON AND THE BATTERY LIGHT WAS STILL ON I DECIDED TO JUST GO BECAUSE I HAVE TO BE AT WORK IN AN HOUR AS I AM DRIVING DOWN I FIVE THE RADIO STOPPED WORKING LIKE THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE STARTED FLICKERING AND MY HEADLIGHTS TURNED OFF AND I WAS NOW DRIVING DOWN I-5 IN THE DARK. FORTUNATELY I MADE IT TO MY LOCATION PARKED MY CAR AND IT COMPLETELY DIED. I DIDN'T OPEN MY HOOD AND STARTED CHECKING MY BATTERY AND MY ALTERNATOR ETC. I CONFIRMED MY BATTERY WAS FINE AND THAT MY ALTERNATOR HAD FAILED. I THEN NOTICE FLUID WAS LEAKING FROM...
SPEED SECER IS BAD AND THE AIR BAD NEED TO BE REPLACE OR CHECK OUT LIGHT KEEP COMING ONIT BEEN IN THE SHOP EVERY TWO WEEK THERE SOMETHING WRONG
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED SMOKED UNDERNEATH THE HOOD WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT, WHERE AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC LIFTED THE HOOD, AND STATED THAT THE ALTERNATOR WAS SMOKING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO MOSS MOTORS (337-235-9086, LOCATED AT 1407 LA 728-8, LAFAYETTE, LA 70501) WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED AND REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR. PRIOR TO THAT FAILURE, THE SAME DEALER REPLACED THE STEERING PUMP AND THE STARTER IN 2015 WHEN THE STEERING PUMP LEAKED AND DESTROYED THE STARTER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND OFFERED A FORTY PERCENT DISCOUNT TOWARDS THE COST OF THE REPAIRS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 77,000.

THE CAR WAS BRAND NEW AND THE STEERING WAS TO HARD TO TURN, SO WE TOOK IT TO HONDA ON CENTINELA AVE. NEAR LADERA HEIGHTS, THEY WANTED TO CHARGE US $1200.00 TO REPLACE IT. A COUPLE MONTHS LATER WE TOOK THE CAR TO SANTA MONICA DEALER 18TH STREET. THEY STATED THE POWER STEERING PUMP WAS LEAKING AND THE RACK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THEY SAID THAT I HAVE TO PAY $1200.00 BUT HONDA ACCORD AMERICA WAS GOING TO GIVE ME A 50% DISCOUNT. I PAID 50%. THEN WHEN DRIVING BACK TO MY HOUSE, I HEARD A LOT OF NOISE, LIKE SOMETHING WAS LOOSE. THE NOISE GOT WORSE, WHEN I WAS TURNING LEFT, RIGHT OR GOING INTO A DEEP AREA. SO I TOOK THE CAR BACK AND THEY SAID, THEY CANNOT HEAR THE NOISE. I TOOK THE CAR BACK AND NOW THEY ARE SAYING THAT NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THE CAR....
MY CAR WAS LEAKING FLUID WHICH I WAS UNAWARE. MY STARTER WENT OUT AND THE DEALER SAID THAT THE POWER STEERING FLUID WAS LEAKING SO BAD IF I DID NOT REPAIR IT THERE COULD BE AN ENGINE FIRE AS WELL AS DAMAGE TO THE ALTERNATOR. HE HAD TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE POWER STEERING PUMP BECAUSE HE SAID THAT THE LEAK WAS TOO BAD TO JUST REPLACE THE O RING AND HOSE. I BROUGHT MY CAR TO MOSS MOTORS IN LAFAYETTE, LOUISIANA FOR THE REPAIR. I BELIEVE THAT SINCE I ONLY HAD 70,000 MILES ON MY CAR THAT THIS POWER STEERING SYSTEM IS AN OBVIOUS DEFECT AND SAFETY HAZARD. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING COLUMN AND STEERING GEAR BOX WERE BOTH LEAKING, AND THE STEERING GEAR BOX NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 63,000.

THE FAILURE CONTINUED AFTER THE REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE. THE MECHANIC STATED THERE WAS A POWER STEERING FLUID LEAK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.

AT APPROX. 37,000 MILES AND THE REPLACEMENT WAS AT MY EXPENSE. THE FIRST TWO TIMES I WAS REIMBURSED FOR THE INSTALL, BUT THE 3RD TIME THE DEALER AND HONDA SAID SORRY THIS ONES ON YOU. I FEEL THIS EXPENDITURE SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN MINE TO PAY. IN LESS THAN 50,000 MILES I HAD TWO POWER STEERING PUMPS REPLACED. THE 4TH TIME THE STEERING BOX ALSO WAS DAMAGED AND IT TO REPLACED. THIS LAST TIME I WAS TOLD THIS AGAIN WAS MY EXPENSE SO AGAIN THEIR PROBLEM BECAME MINE. THIS TIME THE DEALER, BEL AIR HONDA SAID LUCKY I BOUGHT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY OR THE COST TO ME WOULD HAVE BEEN...

I WENT TO THE DEALER TO CHECK FULL ALIGNMENT, 4 WHEELS BALANCE, I EVEN DID THE HUNTER 9700 ROAD FORCE FOR ALL WHEELS AND TIRES. AND, I AM STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. SHIMMY STARTS ~ 60 MPH AND CONTINUES THROUGH 75 MPH. SHIMMY IS INTERMITTENT AND VARYING IN INTENSITY DEPENDING ON VEHICLE SPEED AND LOAD. FROM DAY ONE I EXPERIENCE A STEERING WHEEL AND SUSPENSION/DRIVETRAIN VIBRATION & SHIMMY AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 45-65 MPH. THE DEALER REPLACED TIRES AND WHEELS, AND BALANCED FOUR WHEELS DURING FIRST SERVICE VISIT. ON THE SECOND AND LAST OFFERED SERVICE VISIT FOR THIS DEFECT, THE DEALER DETERMINED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS "OPERATING AS DESIGNED".
