We own a 2018 GMC Acadia Denali. Upon shifting the vehicle into park, we cannot turn off the engine. The vehicle gives us a "Shift to Park" message on the instrument panel. As a result, we are unable to shut off our engine and, to avoid the battery running out, are forced to attempt to move the shift lever in and out of "Park" to get the car to detect that the shift lever is in fact in ‘Park.’”
I shift the car into park but the vehicle tells me the car is not in park and won't shut off. GM charged me $656.00 to replace the switch and harness.
Erroneous error code on heads up that car not in park. Appears to be in park, error code can be reset by activation/deactivation of trigger switch on shift lever. Provides unclear message if car is or is not in park, vagueness makes me question vehicle park status overall. Issue was very intermittent in 2022, frequency of erroneous error code increasing now happens 1 out of 5 times when shifting to park.
2018 Acadia will display “Shift to park” warning along with an audible warning when the vehicle is shut off. This happens even though the PRNDL display is in the “Park” position each time. If I try to exit the vehicle, the audible warning continues (apparently indefinitely). This began at an odometer of about 59,200. Initially, the situation could be corrected by restarting the car and shifting in and out of Park or depressing the shift knob several times. Within a couple of hundred miles, it became consistent and eventually could not be corrected as described above. Unfortunately, this is not covered under warranty. I began driving for a few months without the shift knob, simply depressing the plunger on the shift rod coming up from the transmission. Doing this, the warning rarely occurs and, if it does, it’s easily corrected with one or two presses of the plunger. Some modifications...
The contact owns a 2018 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that intermittently when the gear was shifted into park(P) and the vehicle was turned off, the "shift into park(P)" message was displayed. The contact stated that she was unable to lock the vehicle and that the interior lights remained on. The vehicle was not yet taken to an independent mechanic or local dealer for diagnosis or repairs. The contact was made aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V516000 (Power Train); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 46,000.
Shift to park issue. Vehicle appears to be in park but message appears. You have to continuously wiggle shifter and shut car off and off until it registers it is in park. I have no way of knowing if vehicle is truly in park or not. For safety reasons I cannot park in an incline due to concerns the vehicle will roll backwards. Several TBS bulletins have been issued by GMC on this known issue and they deny any responsibility of fixing the situation with a recall. The NHTSA needs to step in and investigate and require GMC to remedy this dangerous defect
CAR DOES NOT GO INTO PARK AND WILL NOT SHUT OFF. says shift to park when this happens the car does not shut off correctly and must be restarted and jiggle shifter to turn off. this seems to be a well known problem and is on many years of Acadia
When I put the car in park, I get the message "Shift to Park". It does not do it every time but it is happening more and more. I have to wiggle the gearshift or restart the car and shift to neutral to try it again. I am wondering about the safety issue and will the vehicle roll if I am not able to get the message to go away? I have researched this and it is happening on a lot of vehicles.
The contact owns a 2018 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that on three separate occasions while driving at undisclosed speeds, the gears inadvertently shifted from second gear to third gear and then to neutral. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on three separate occasions where the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was then taken back a fourth time where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 87,000.
In 2019 my GMC Acadia had the “shift to park” issue in which my vehicle would not shut off and I would have to repeatedly start and shift the gear shift before it would shut off. The problem was “fixed” at the dealership in June 2019. In May 2022, the “shift to park” issue started again. At the dealership now and was informed that since the vehicle is out of warranty, I would be responsible for repairs this time. This is a safety issue that GMC is well aware and should not happen to begin with let alone after repairs. In no way am I going to be held responsible for repairs that obviously were done with either defective parts or parts that were limited to only 3 years without my knowledge. If I knew I would have to do the same repair in 3 years and I would be...
After parking the car and putting transmission in "Park" car would start rolling forward and display message " shift to park" Luckily i was able to jump back into the car and apply brakes before car caused any serious damage to property or people around.
The contact owns a 2018 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle and shifting the transmission to the Park, the vehicle would either roll forward or backward. An audible warning "Shift to Park" was also activated. The gear shifter was jiggled to correct the failure. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 25,000.
After putting the vehicle in park, I get a "shift to park" error. The car does not recognize it is in Park, so it will not shut off completely. It takes several attempts of restarting the car and putting back into park before it will recognize it is actually in "Park". This has been happening for several weeks.
The contact owns a 2018 GMC Acadia. The contact stated while parking the vehicle, the gear shifter was shifted to the park position however, the gear shift indicator failed to show that the vehicle was in park. There were several attempts made before the shift indicator showed that the vehicle was in Park. The vehicle was diagnosed but not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 44,000.
Shift to park not happening. Stop the car and then the shift to part indicator shows up in the driver information center. So far I have been able to clear it out. Going into the dealer first thing in the morning. I have looked and there appears to be a class action on this issue and a TSB. I just bought this vehicle and was not told about this issue.
WHEN I PUT MY CAR IN PARK AND TURN OFF IT WILL RANDOMLY SAY "SHIFT TO PARK" IT STARTED DOING THIS IN AUG OR SEPT 2019 THE CAR WAS UNDER WARRANTY AND I BROUGHT IT TO A DEALER TO "FIX". FAST FORWARD APRIL 2021 IT STARTED TO SAY SHIFT TO PARK AGAIN AND CAR IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. CALLED DIFFERENT DEALERS EVEN THE ONE I BROUGHT THE CAR TO FIX PROBLEM (THAT WAS A JOKE), THEY KNOW ITS A PROBLEM AND SAYING SINCE THAT PART GOT FIXED IN 2019 WITH A BAD PART AND NOW THERE IS A A NEWER FIX THAT SHOULD WORK BETTER, BUT I WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND PART AGAIN. AGAIN THEY KNOW IT IS A PROBLEM WITH THESE CARS AND IT NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. I HAVE TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND ON RESHIFT, PUSH THE SHIFTER HARDER, ETC TO...
VEHICLE WILL NOT SHUT OFF AS IT SHOWS SHIFT TO PARK. REOCCURRING PROBLEM.
THE SIX SPEED TRANSMISSION ALWAYS EXHIBIT BUCKING/HESITATION WHEN SHIFTING FROM 1ST GEAR TO 2ND GEAR. ALSO, WHEN SPEED BETWEEN 40MPH TO 50MPH, THE TRANSMISSION EXHIBIT SEVERE HESITATION TO DOWNSHIFT WHEN PRESS THROTTLE PEDAL. MOREOVER, THE TRANSMISSION EXHIBITS HARSHNESS WHEN DOWNSHIFT WHEN DECELERATING FROM 45MPH TO 0MPH.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 GMC ACADIA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED REMOTELY WHILE STILL IN PARK, HOWEVER IT INDEPENDENTLY SHIFTED OUT OF PARK AND INTO REVERSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE TRAVELED ACROSS THE YARD ONTO THE MAIN ROAD AND CRASHED INTO A BUILDING. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT AUTOBODY SHOP BUT THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 16,972.
SHIFT TO PARK ERROR , ON COMPUTER DISPLAY.
PLACE SHIFTER IN "PARK", TURN OFF ENGINE, AND GET "SHIFT TO PARK" MESSAGE ON CONSOLE. WHILE MESSAGE IS DISPLAYED, THE CAR CONSTANTLY BEEPS, WARNS, LIGHTS NOT TURNING OFF. HAVE TO START THE ENGINE BACK UP, AND PLACE THE SHIFTER INTO DRIVE AND THEN BACK TO PARK. SOMETIMES HAVE TO DO THIS 5-10 TIMES IN ORDER FOR THE CAR TO TURN OFF. THIS FIRST HAPPENED AT 11K MILES (UNDER WARRANTY) AND DEALERSHIP FIXED. I AM NOW AT 16K MILES AND IT IS HAPPENING AGAIN (OUT OF WARRANTY THIS TIME).
CAR WOULD SHUTTER ON ACCELERATION. RPM GAUGE WOULD JUMP WHEN ACCELERATING OR DOWNSHIFT TO PASS/CLIMB HILL. DEALER FOUND PROBLEM WITH TORQUE CONVERTER. METAL THROUGH OUT TRANSMISSION (SEE ATTACHMENT FOR SPECIFICS AS NOTED BY MECHANIC)
CAR DISPLAYS 'SHIFT TO PARK' MESSAGE AFTER TRANSMISSION GEAR SELECTOR HAS BEEN PLACED IN PARK. CAR WILL NOT TURN OFF AND THE TIRES ROLL FREELY. AFTER NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS OF SHIFTING IN AND OUT OF PARK THE CAR WILL FINALLY RECOGNIZE THAT IT IS IN PARK AND ALLOW YOU TO TURN OFF THE VEHICLE AS WELL AS LOCK THE TRANSMISSION.
EVERY TIME I PUT THE CAR IN PARK POSITION THE CAR DOESN'T SENSE THAT IT'S ON PARK AND ERROR MESSAGE KEEPS APPEARING IN THE SCREEN SAYING 'SHIFT TO PARK' AND THE CAR REFUSES TO TURN OFF AND IT ROLL AWAY FROM THE DRIVE WAY AND I HAVE TO SHIFT IT BACK TO DRIVE AND AGAIN TO PARK AGAIN AND AGAIN MULTIPLE TIMES TILL THE SENSOR FEELS IT. IT'S A SAFETY HAZARD. I LOOKED UP THE ISSUE ONLINE AND FOUND OUT THAT MOST OF THIS CAR OWNERS EXPERIENCE THE SAME PROBLEM AND THERE'S MULTIPLE LAWSUITS AGAINST GMC FOR THIS ISSUE. THIS CAR IS DRIVEN BY MY WIFE MOST OF THE TIME AND SHE HAS MY KIDS WITH HER IN THE CAR. IT'S A LIFE THREATENING ISSUE! I TOOK THE CAR LAST MONTH TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY REFUSED TO FIX IT FOR FREE BECAUSE THE CAR WENT OUT OF WARRANTY BY...
LEFT FRONT HALF SHAFT FRACTURED. WAS MAKING A TURN ON HIGHWAY. VEHICLE HAS 53262 MILES.
VEHICLE DOES NOT RECOGNIZE WHEN IT IS IN PARK. AT TIMES VEHICLE WILL NOT GO INTO PARK AND MAKES ME CONCERNED FOR MY FAMILY'S SAFETY. MY UNDERSTANDING IS THAT GM IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 GMC ACADIA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN A STAND STILL AND TURNING OFF THE VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE WOULD START TO BING, LIGHTS WOULD STAY ON, AND DOORS WOULD NOT LOCK. THE SHIFT TO PARK MESSAGE DISPLAYED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GET REPAIRED WHERE THE MANUAL TRANSMISSION MODE SWITCH WAS REPLACED, HOWEVER THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER (CHESROWN CHEVROLET BUICK GMC LOCATED AT 1701 COLUMBUS PIKE, DELAWARE, OH 43015) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SHIFTIER ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AS OF YET. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE, HOWEVER NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 38,000. *DT THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE DISPLAY "SHIFT INTO PARK" ERROR. WHEN PLACING IT IN PARK. THE VEHICLE'S HEADLIGHTS AND INTERIOR LIGHTS...
WHEN TRYING TO PUT IN PARK WON'T SHUT OFF SAYS SHIFT TO PARK, STARTED AROUND 25,000 MILES HAVE TO BE SURE VEHICLE IS LEVEL AND NOT ON AN INCLINE. VEHICLE ALSO SURGES AT TIMES LOOSING POWER WHEN YOU'RE GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. ALSO, AT TIMES WHEN YOU GO TO START VEHICLE IT WILL HESITATE AND DISCONNECTS FROM BATTERY THUS RESETTING EVERYTHING. HAD TO REPLACE BATTERY AT 25,000 . THE REAR WIPER WILL GO ON IT'S ON WITHOUT TURNING IT ON.
THE TRANSMISDUON SHIFTER WHEN SHIFTED INTO PARK, THE INFORMATION CENTER SAID VEHICLE NOT IN PARK AND IT WILL NOT LET ME SHUT THE CAR OFF IT WAS A 400$ REPAIR AT THE GM DEALERSHIP NOT COVERED UNDER ANY OF MY WARRANTY
WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS PUT IN PARK AND I ATTEMPTED TO SHUT IT OFF, IT WOULD GIVE ME THE SHIFT TO PARK ERROR CODE AND WOULD NOT LET ME CUT THE CAR OFF COMPLETELY. IT WOULD HAPPEN JUST ABOUT EVERY TIME I DROVE IT. I JUST GOT IT OUT OF THE SHOP FOR THE THIRD TIME AND WAS TOLD THIS TIME THEY REPLACED THE ASSEMBLY. SO FAR IT HAS NOT HAPPENED AGAIN BUT IT HAS ONLY BEEN A WEEK. IT STARTED BACK IN JANUARY 2020.
2018 GMC ACADIA SHOWN 'SHIFT TO PARK' MESSAGE EVEN CAR IS STOPPED/ PARKED.
GEAR SHIFTER MOVES TO PARK POSITION BUT INDICATORS AND ENGINE OFF SWITCH WILL NOT SWITCH TO PARK STATE WITHOUT JIGGLING SHIFTER HANDLE TIP.
SHIFT TO PARK . WOULD NOT SHUT DOWN OR COULD NOT LOCK VEHICLE. WARNING LIGHT & BEEPING SOUND. *TR
THE CAR WOULD NOT TURN OFF WHEN PUT IN PARK WHEN THE CAR WAS STOPPED. THE ENGINE WOULD TURN OFF, BUT THE ELECTRICAL DEVICES (LIGHTS, RADIO, ODOMETER READINGS, ETC.) WOULD REMAIN ENGAGED. THE WARNING INDICATOR SAID THE VEHICLE WAS NOT IN PARK AND IT WOULD TAKE 5-10 MINUTES OF TURNING THE ENGINE ON AND OFF, AND SHIFTING BACK AND FORTH IN AND OUT OF GEAR BEFORE THE CAR WOULD TURN OFF COMPLETELY. A SEARCH ON LINE INDICATED SEVERAL PEOPLE COMPLAINING OF THE SAME ISSUE. THIS CAR IS 2 YRS OLD WITH LESS THAN 40K MILES. IT WAS MAINTAINED AS A COMPANY LEASED VEHICLE BY US BEFORE BEING PURCHASED BY US, SO WE KNOW IT HAS BEEN PROPERLY MAINTAINED. WE ENDED UP HAVING TO HAVE THE SHIFT COLUMN REPLACED. *TR
MY CAR KEEPS GIVING NOTICE OF IT NOT BEING IN PARK, WHEN ITS CLEARLY SHIFTED INTO PARK. IT WONT SHUT DOWN, LET YOU LOCK DOORS. JUST BEEPS UNTIL IT FINALLY REALIZES ITS IN PARK. EVEN AFTER CONTINUOUSLY RE SHIFTING INTO PARK. WORSE IN THE SUMMER MONTHS. IT NEEDS TO BE FIXED AS MANY OTHERS ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE! *TR
WHEN I SHIFT THE TO PARK AND TRY TO TURN OFF MY CAR THE SHIFT TO PARK LIGHTS UP AND I HAVE TO DOWN SHIFT AND THEN SHIFT TO PARK AGAIN TO GET MY CAR TO SHUT OFF ALSO THE AIR COMPRESSOR HAS ALREADY QUIT WORKING WITH LESS THAN 40K MILES ON IT. *TR
MY VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY. I STOPPED THE VEHICLE AND PLACED THE SHIFT LEVER INTO THE PARK POSITION. WHEN I PRESSED THE START/STOP BUTTON, THE BUTTON'S AMBER WARNING LIGHT CAME ON, AN AUDIBLE WARNING BEGAN SOUNDING AND ALL INSTRUMENT LIGHTS STAYED ON. WHEN I LOOKED AT THE DRIVER'S DISPLAY, IT STATED, "SHIFT TO PARK". (THE SHIFT LEVER WAS ALREADY IN THE PARK POSITION. I COULD NOT SHUT THE VEHICLE DOWN AND COULD NOT LEAVE THE VEHICLE IN THAT CONDITION. I CONTINUED TO MOVE THE SHIFT LEVER FROM DRIVE TO PARK AND AFTER 8-10 SHIFTS, THE VEHICLE FINALLY RECOGNIZED THAT IT WAS IN PARK. THEN, THE START/STOP BUTTON FUNCTIONED CORRECTLY. UPON INVESTIGATION, I FOUND THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH 2017-2018 GMC ACADIAS (THERE IS EVEN A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT PENDING). SOME OWNERS EVEN REPORT THEIR VEHICLES ROLLING WHEN IN THIS CONDITION. AS OF THIS DATE (5/19/2020) GM HAS...
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 GMC ACADIA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER STOPPING THE VEHICLE AND PLACING THE GEAR SHIFTER IN PARK, A MESSAGE DISPLAYED TO SHIFT THE VEHICLE INTO PARK. THE CONTACT SHIFTED THROUGH THE GEARS AND THE VEHICLE OPERATED AS INTENDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. NEITHER THE MANUFACTURER NOR THE DEALER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 41,000. THE VIN WAS INVALID.
WHEN GEAR LEVER IS SHIFTED INTO PARK AND YOU TRY TO TURN OF THE ENGINE A NOTICE COMES ON TELLING YOU TO PUT YOUR CAR INTO PARK. I CAN NOT TURN OFF THE CAR UNTIL THIS MESSAGE DISAPPEARS. SOMETIMES IT TAKES 7 OR MORE TRIES TO FINALLY BE ABLE TO SHUT OFF THE CAR. IF I LEAVE IT WITH THE MESSAGE THEN ALL ELECTRICAL SEEMS TO STAY ON.
WHEN ATTEMPTING TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AFTER SHIFTING TO PARK AND THEN PRESSING THE START/STOP BUTTON, THE VEHICLE GIVES AN ERROR MESSAGE THAT SAYS "SHIFT TO PARK" EVEN THOUGH THE SHIFT LEVER IS IN THE PARK POSITION. THE ERROR MESSAGE PREVENTS THE VEHICLE FROM SHUTTING DOWN. THIS OCCURS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STOPPED, PUT INTO PARK, AND THEN WHEN ATTEMPTING TO SHUT DOWN THE VEHICLE.
SHIFTER ASSEMBLY WENT OUT, KNOWN ISSUE AND GM WON'T COVER PART
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 GMC ACADIA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE GEAR WAS SHIFTED INTO PARK, A WARNING BEEP SOUNDED, INFORMED THE DRIVER THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT IN PARK. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS, THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO SHIFT THE VEHICLE INTO PARK AND TURN THE VEHICLE OFF. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,000. THE VIN WAS INVALID.
WHEN I PUT MY VEHICLE IN PARK, IT WILL NOT SHUT OFF AND DASHBOARD IT SAYS 'ACTION REQUIRED. SHIFT TO PARK.' VEHICLE WON'T TURN OFF AND IT KEEPS BEEPING. IT IS WHEN I'M PARKED
WENT CAR IS PARK THE DASH STILL SHOWS 'PUT CAR IN PARK' CAR WILL CONTINUE TO PEE, WILL NOT LOCK. FROM WHAT I READ GMC KNEW OF THIS PROBLEM BUT CONTINUE TO SELL GMC ARCADIA FROM 2017 TO 2018. EVEN THOUGH THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM THEY STILL CHARGE THE CONSUMERS FOR THE REPAIRS. THIS ONLY HAPPENED WENT TRYING TO PUT VEHICLE I PARK.
VEHICLE WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THAT IT IS IN PARK. FORCES ELECTRICAL TO STAY ON, AND SOMETIMES WILL NOT ENGAGE PARK SO VEHICLE CAN MOVE AS IF I'M NEUTRAL. HAS THUS FAR HAPPENED WITH VEHICLE STOPPED, BUT YOU CAN SOMETIMES SHUT OFF ENGINE AND EXIT VEHICLE WHEN IT IS NOT IN PARK AND CAN ROLL AGAINST YOU, OR ON KIDS EXITING ETC. VEHICLE ROLLED IN GARAGE AND STRUCK, AND COULD HAVE CRUSHED CHILD AGAINST DOOR.
AFTER PUTTING THE VEHICLE IN PARK, "SHIFT TO PARK" IS DISPLAYED ON THE DASH. I HAVE TO SHIFT THE CAR IN AND OUT OF PARK SEVERAL TIMES TO GET THE VEHICLE TO RECOGNIZE BEING IN PARK.
WHEN THE VEHICLE IS WARM, THE TRANSMISSION APPEARS TO SLIP WHEN SHIFTING FROM 2ND TO 3RD GEAR. THE ENGINE WILL REV BETWEEN 500 TO 1000 RPM WHILE SHIFTING. DURING THIS TIME (HALF TO FULL SECOND) THE VEHICLE IS NOT ACCELERATING AND DOES NOT RESPOND TO THROTTLE INPUTS. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN INTO DEALERSHIPS 4 TIMES FOR THIS COMPLAINT. AT 35000 MILES (3RD DEALER VISIT), GM REPLACED THE VALVE ASSEMBLY. THE PROBLEM REOCCURRED AND GM IS ONLY OFFERING TO REPLACE THE SAME PART, OR EXTEND THE WARRANTY ON THE TRANSMISSION, BUT NOT BOTH. NO ONE AT THE DEALERSHIP OR GM TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE CENTER HAS ANY IDEA WHAT IS ACTUALLY WRONG AND IS NOT TAKING ANY STEPS TO FIND THE CAUSE OF THE ISSUE. THE SERVICE MANAGER HAS ADMITTED THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM, BUT GM DENIED HIM ANY HELP IN RESOLVING THE ISSUE.THEY HAVE SAID THAT THIS IS NOT A...
PARK THE CAR SHUT OFF ENGINE AND A MESSAGE COMES UP PLEASE SHIFT TO PARK. THE CAR IS IN PARK BUT IT'S NOT BEING RECOGNIZED BY THE COMPUTER OR DRIVETRAIN? HAVE TO PLAY WITH THE SHIFTER TO BE ABLE TO SHUT OFF CAR . ONLY HAPPENS WHEN PARKED AND SHUTTING OFF CAR.
