When putting the vehicle into reverse the backup camera displayed an unusable red fuzzy screen. Backup camera was unable to assist in safely reversing and mirrors and parking sensors had to be used
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Mustang. The contact received the recall letter related to NHTSA Campaign Number: XXX (Back Over Prevention). While reversing, the camera was flickering. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed, and the dealer informed the contact that the camera needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The contact stated that the back-over prevention camera was flickering and became inoperable. The key fob and button were not working to open the trunk. The contact had to climb through the vehicle to enter the trunk. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to another local dealer, [XXX] [XXX] ); who confirmed that the repair was not available. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and confirmed that the repair was not available. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000. INFORMATION REDACTED...
Ford is refusing to repair the rear camera wiring defect. The dealer attempted multiple times and Ford is refusing to replace it, instead the dealer is asking for $1000 dollars.
The passenger side door will open by itself. This happened twice within the last month with a passenger in the seat and once with no passenger. The warning lamp will come with an alert to say that the passenger side door is open. This puts the safety of those in the car at risk of falling out, or possibly an accident if the door completely opens. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by anyone. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request.
I am writing to formally request an investigation into a potential recall issue regarding a heated seat module and module plug on my vehicle. Below are the details of my vehicle for your reference: * Make/Model: 2015 Ford Mustang Ecoboost * VIN (Vehicle Identification Number): [XXX] * Mileage: 183,367 I have encountered a burning/melted plastic smell along with smoke coming from my heated/cooled seat module box while operating the vehicle. This issue has impacted safety, and reduced functionality. I have contacted the dealership, and had the part inspected but the issue persists. Upon reviewing similar concerns online and through forums, I noticed other owners reporting comparable problems, starting with many different 2015-2020 ford model vehicles, which leads me to believe this may be a widespread issue. I respectfully request that Ford initiate an investigation to determine if this problem warrants a recall. I also ask for guidance on how to...
Heated and cooled front seats stopped working. On inspecting the connector plug it is scorched or burned where the ground plug is located.
i was driving on a highway and experienced a total failure of my electrical system which completely shut down with in 15 seconds i lost control of the car as i could not even move the wheel, subsequently T-boned by another car iwhich could not stop fast enough suffering total loss of my car of note prior to the accident (Sunday AM) on friday I had a battery replaced @ Firestone, see reciept attached that was the last repair for the care
Brake lights don’t function brake switch bumper broke off and lights stay on but not bright when brake is depressed. Loss of power random misfire cut from loss of power. Brake switch fault in computer
The contact's husband owns a 2015 Ford Mustang. The contact while reversing, the rearview camera image was distorted and black. The contact stated that the failure had increased, causing the rearview camera to become inoperable. Additionally, the contact stated that the tailgate had failed to open while using the key fob, while pressing the tailgate release switch inside the cabin and the release button on the decklid. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the decklid wiring harness needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle could not be repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V082000 (Back Over Prevention) because the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was approximately 42,000.
A plastic clip ("Brake Pedal Bumper") broke and fell out of place, causing the brake pedal to no longer reach the brake light switch. The brake lights now remain illuminated permanently, even with the brakes released. This also caused the engine and transmission to go into "limp mode", the engine no longer revving over 2,000 RPM, the transmission not shifting, and hill-start assist and traction control no longer working, making the car unsafe to drive. The brake lights will remain on even when the car is completely shut off and locked, draining and damaging the battery. It is my understanding that this is a known issue, and there was a recall for this in certain states. (Safety Recall 22S02, Regional Recall 22R01). There should be a national recall for this, as the affected part appears to be of low quality, and causes safety issues when it fails, with the car's...
Third tail light and rear tail lights remained illuminated after the car was turned off. Driver discovered the brake light switch (rubber/plastic piece) had crumbled into the floor board preventing the tail lights from turning off, thus, becoming a hazard to other motorists on the road as the tail lights remained illuminated even while driving. While the vehicle was being driven, the driver could not accelerate to the appropriate speeds as the car was "thinking" the brakes were being applied and could only approximately drive at 40-50 MPH. The vehicle has been inspected and the above information was confirmed as the issue. No other warnings/messages occurred prior to the piece breaking.
Wire under passenger sear for heated seats has burning smell. Wire was replaced but happens again. Will need to replace entire plug.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that the local dealer had previously marked the NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V082000 (Back Over Prevention) recall repair as completed because no failure was found upon inspection of the vehicle. The contact stated that the trunk later failed to open, and the trunk emergency release mechanism was inoperable. The vehicle was taken to another dealer, where it was diagnosed that the deck lid wiring harness had failed, and the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V082000 (Back Over Prevention). The dealer sent a diagnostic report to the manufacturer; however, the manufacturer declined to cover the repair. The manufacturer informed the dealer that another dealer had already marked the recall as complete upon inspection of the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 15,600.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Mustang. The contact stated while driving at various speeds and while the vehicle was parked, the windows went up and down, the doors unlocked, the back-over prevention camera engaged, the trunk opened, and the exterior lights engaged independently. Additionally, the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the harness that extended from the rear to the front of the vehicle had failed. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V082000 (Back Over Prevention) however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage approximately 85,000.
Back up camera goes in and out, fuel pump started making bad sounds a few month after buying it like screeching sounds got the car around 39000
The little rubber pad that it attached to the brake pedal disintegrated. Without that pad the vehicle goes into limp mode and won’t drive over 40. Don’t know why the brake switch is connected to other electronics in the vehicle that would make it go into limp mode. Very unsafe while driving on the highway.
Backup camera recall repair failed to connect the problem. Backup camera still not functioning.
The brake pedal stop bumper has fallen off and causing the exact issues in safety recall notice 22S02; NHTSA recall 22V011. This vin and others should also be added to this recall. Pictured item was located on the floors.
The plastic break switch pad broke when I was driving on the highway. I lost engine power and RPMs were erratic. Brake lights would not turn off even when brakes were not applied. I could not excellorate normally or maintain speed. Upon examination the pad was brittle and yellowing. There is already a safety recall for this part but only in certain states that does not include Arizona.

Three different Service Adviser's stated they will phone me. Nothing Yet. Recall Notice 22R01, Brake pad was replaced. Works find.
AdvanceTracService light, Hill Assist not available, Check engine light is on, Driver selection light comes on. I've taken it to the dealership and they cannot find the problem, but steering wheel and car was temporarily inoperable and turning the steering wheel was almost impossible. Suspension is off as well.
Rear camera wiring fails. Car was at dealer for repair in May and manufacturer or dealer has yet to address the issue. This includes third eye brake light and trunk lid
Touchscreen is dark. Tried to reset by pressing the Radio on Button and forward button the same time, checken all harnesses and connectors. Everything fine. Apparantly the APIM module failed.
Heated and cooled seats are not sufficiently grounded, causing burnt wiring beneath passenger seat, overcurrent to blower motor. This issue applies to multiple makes and models using the Ford\Motorcraft wire harness part number WPT-928.
While on vacation (my car was at home) a piece in my brakes broke and caused my break lights to be on constantly. When I tried starting my car the battery was dead. The break likes being on like they were ended up causing my battery to corrode by time I got home from the continuous energy drain. I was able to jumpstart my car but when I went to put my car in drive the vehicle would not accelerate over pretty much idling. When I got my car towed to the dealership (Gary Yeoman's) they told me the break bumper disintegrated and caused my break lights to be on and a vehicle acceleration override to be engaged.
The driver's side window will go up and down constantly when vehicle is turned off on my 2015 Mustang GT, so annoying and scary, hate for someones fingers to get caught in it, I can role them down and back up a million times and it still does it, I even open and shut the door multiple times, but still does it! Not sure what the insurance company would say about it if I told them. Maybe something to do with the lock, sensor, security system. When window is slighly down, it could be at risk for theft. (and Ford, lets not even dicuss your Shi**y paint job!)
HEATED/COOLED SEAT MODULE SHORTED, BURNED, AND MELTED THE WIRING HARNESS. SEAT FUNCTION IS NO LONGER OPERATIVE.
WHEN USING DRIVER'S MEMORY FUNCTIONS, DRIVER AND PASSENGER MIRRORS TILT IN ONE DIRECTION TO IT'S LIMITS AND CLICKS MULTIPLE TIMES. DOES NOT GO BACK TO PRESET SETTING UNLESS THE MEMORY BUTTON IS PRESSED ANOTHER TIME.
I WAS DRIVING MY 2015 TWIN ECO-BOOST CAR ON A CITY STREET,WHEN I I HEARD SOMETHING UNDER HOOD.AND RIGHT AT THAT MOMENT SMOKE WAS ROLLING OUT FROM UNDER THE HOOD.WHEN I STOPPED AND GOT OUT,THATS WHEN A WITNESS TOLD ME SHE SAW FLAMES COMING OUT FROM UNDER THE CAR IT MELTED EVERYTHING UNDER THE HOOD.EVERY WIRE WAS EXSPOSED.I AM WAITING FOR REPORT FROM FIRE DEPARTMENT.I DO HAVE A PICTURE OF IT.FIRE CHIEF SAID BATTERY EXPLODED.
CLIMATE CONTROLLED SEATS STOPPED WORKING. WHILE DIAGNOSING THE ISSUE I FOUND THAT CONNECTOR C3265B ON THE FRONT SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL MODULE WAS BURNED SEVERELY AND MELTED.
THE REARVIEW CAMERA WILL INTERMITTENTLY DISPLAY A BLANK OR DISTORTED IMAGE. WHEN PLACING THE CAR IN REVERSE THE CAMERA WILL INTERMITTENTLY DISPLAY A BLANK SCREEN OR DISTORTED IMAGE WHILE REVERSING THE VEHICLE. THIS REDUCES THE DRIVER'S VIEW OF WHAT IS BEHIND THE VEHICLE, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH. THIS HAPPENS WHEN BOTH STATIONARY AND IN MOTION. THIS IS THE SAME ISSUE THAT MY 2020 FORD MUSTANG GT VIN [XXX] HAS JUST RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR. THE CAMERA BEGAN TO FAIL THE SUMMER OF 2020. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR
REAR BACK UP CAMERA WORKS INTERMITTENTLY WHEN SHIFTER PLACED IN REVERSE. SOMETIMES IT SHOWS DISTORTED IMAGES AND SOMETIMES IT JUST GOES BLANK WITH A MESSAGE ON THE SCREEN TO CONTACT YOUR FORD DEALER.
BACKUP CAMERA FUNCTIONS INTERMITTENTLY. OFTEN SHOWING AN ERROR MESSAGE, OF REAR VIEW CAMERA NOT AVAILABLE.
BACK UP CAMERA HAS SAME SYMPTOMS AS 2020 FORD MODELS BEING RECALLED.8/4/20
THE GETRAG MT-82 TRANSMISSION LOCKS ME OUT OF 2ND GEAR WHEN IM ACCELERATING HARDLY FOR EX. MERGING ON THE HIGHWAY. ALSO MY MUSTANG IS PLAGUED WITH ELECTRICAL ISSUES RANGING FROM CONNECTING WITH BLUETOOTH, INOPERABLE BACKUP CAMERA, TAG LIGHT WIRE STRIPPED. SOMETIMES WHEN I START MY VEHICLE, BLUETOOTH WILL NOT CONNECT TO MY PHONE FOR REASONS I DONT KNOW. ALSO THE BACKUP CAMERA WORKS 10% OF THE TIME. IVE READ THAT FORDS WIRING IS BEING CRIMPED IN BETWEEN THE TRUNK LID. LASTLY THE REAR TAG LIGHT WIRES HAVE BEEN STRIPPED/CORRODED DUE TO POOR WEATHER PROTECTION.
BACKUP CAMERA AND TRUNK BRAKE LIGHT DO NOT WORK DUE TO KNOWN FLAW IN TRUNK WIRING HARNESS DESIGN. WIRES INSIDE THE HARNESS BREAK FROM OPENING AND CLOSING TRUNK DUE TO COMPRESSION. DEALERSHIP HAS REPAIRED ONCE WHILE UNDER WARRANTY BY CHEAPLY REPLACING SECTIONS OF BROKEN WIRE AND CRUDELY WRAPPING THE ENTIRE HARNESS WITH BLACK ELECTRICAL TAPE, HOWEVER MORE WIRES HAVE BROKEN IN NEW LOCATIONS ALONG THE HARNESS. THIS IS A KNOWN DEFECT WITH A TECHNICAL BULLETIN PUBLISHED BY FORD. HOWEVER THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THIS IS AN ISSUE COMMON WITH 15-17 MUSTANGS. DESPITE CLEARLY EXPLAINING WHAT WAS WRONG, THEY CLAIMED I WOULD HAVE TO PAY $125 DIAGNOSTIC FEE BECAUSE THEY DON'T KNOW IF THE WIRING MIGHT HAVE BEEN CHEWED BY 'VARMINTS.'
BACK UP CAMERA REPEATEDLY WORKS INTERMITTENTLY CAUSING ME TO BACK UP INTO A POST, COSTING $1200 IN DAMAGES ELECTRICAL WIRES GOING TO TRUNK LID ARE INCREDIBLY THIN AND FLIMSY. THIS EFFECTS THE BACK UP CAMERA, TRUNK RELEASE, TRUNK LIGHT, ETC.; ALL OF WHICH HAVE FAILED AT ONE TIME OR ANOTHER. REPAIRED WIRING TWICE BUT THEY ARE SO FRAIL, THEY CONTINUE TO SNAP AND CAUSE MALFUNCTION THROUGHOUT THE CAR.
BACK UP CAMERA NOT WORKING ON 2015 FORD MUSTANG V6. DID RESEARCH ON FORUMS AND IT SEEMS LIKE A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS ISSUE. IT HAPPENS WHENEVER YOU PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE FROM BEING STATIONARY.
LOCATION OF ELECTRIC POWER STEERING IS THE WORSE POSSIBLE PLACE. FAILURES ARE COMMON DUE TO WATER DAMAGE CAUSING POWER STEERING TO STOP WORKING AT ANY MOMENT. EVEN WHEN CAR IS MOVING WHICH COULD CAUSE ACCIDENTS OR DEATH.
WIRING TO THE REAR DECK GETS PINCHED WHEN TRUNK OPENS/CLOSES. REAR CAMERA AND TRUNK RELEASE DO NOT WORK AND 'TRUNK AJAR' DASH NOTIFICATION WILL NOT TURN OFF. THIS IS A KNOWN DESIGN DEFECT BY FORD. I HAVE CREATED 2 SEPARATE CASES WITH FORD CUSTOMER CARE AND THEY REFUSE TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR FULL REPAIRS.
ELECTRIC POWER STREERING WHEEL FAILURE UNDER COLD WEATHER CONDITION
BACK UP CAMERA WORKS AND THEN IT DOESN'T. I REFUSE TO GO TO DEALERSHIP JUST TO HAVE THEM SAY IT IS WORKING THEN TO LEAVE AND IT NOT WORKING AGAIN. I'VE READ FORUMS AND THREADS IT IS A VERY VERY COMMON. FORD NEEDS TO FIX THIS TOO MANY OWNERS HAVING SAME ISSUE. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BACK UP CAMERA FAILED TO DISPLAY. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN REVERSE, THE CAMERA DID NOT SHOW AN IMAGE AND THE SCREEN WAS BLANK. THE CONTACT'S SON ALSO REPORTED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD MOVE ON ITS OWN AND IT WAS DIFFICULT TO TURN. IN ADDITION, THE ABS AND POWER STEERING WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MEDVED FORD (1404 S WILCOX ST, CASTLE ROCK, CO 80104, (303) 688-3137) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A NEW POWER STEERING SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE INSTALLED. THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76,000.
BACKUP CAMERA MALFUNCTIONING, HAVE HAD SERVICED SEVERAL TIMES AND THE EXPENSE IS GETTING HIGHER AND STILL NO FIX. FORD KNOWS THERE IS A PROBLEM AND THEY REFUSE TO FIX BUT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THESE CARS HAVE SOO MANY BLIND SPOTS YOU CAN'T SEE BACKING UP WITHOUT IT. IT SEEMS TO BE WORSE WHEN CAR HEATS UP, IT ROLLS OR GOES BLANK AND WON'T COME ON AT ALL MOST DAYS. IT STARTS INTERMITTENTLY SO WHEN YOU CARRY IT TO FORD THEY SAY NOTHING IS WRONG BUT THEN IT GOES BACK TO DOING AND YOUR A DANGER WHEN BACKING OUT ANYWHERE WHY IS NOBODY DOING ANYTHING?? I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN JUNE OF 2018 AND IT WAS MESSED UP EVEN THEN WHEN THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD IT. IT HAS BEEN IN AND OUT OF THE SHOP 5 OR 6 TIMES IF NOT MORE. LCD SCREEN REPLACED WIRES CHECKED AND NOW...
THE CAR INTERMITTENTLY WILL NOT START. THE DEALERS SAY THEY CAN'T FIX THE CAR WITHOUT A COMPUTER ERROR CODE WHICH THEY ARE NOT GETTING. I HAVE BEEN STRANDED WITH THE CAR ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. I HAVE CHECKED ON-LINE AND FIND THAT OTHER MUSTANG OWNERS ARE HAVING EXACTLY THE SAME EXPERIENCE AND THEIR CARS ARE NOT GETTING FIXED EITHER. I ALSO CONTACTED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE DIRECTLY BUT HAVE HAD NO FEEDBACK FROM THEM. I AM OUT OF OPTIONS AND DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. FORD NEEDS TO PROVIDE A TIMELY FIX AND HONOR THEIR WARRANTY AGREEMENT TO KEEP THESE CARS ON THE ROAD. THIS IS NOT THE ONLY ELECTRIC/ELECTRONIC PROBLEM I HAVE HAD/DO HAVE WITH THE CAR
UNABLE TO OPEN TRUNK IN 2015 MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE. THE KEY FOB, DASH RELEASE BUTTON AND OUTSIDE RELEASE BUTTON WILL NOT OPEN TRUNK. ALSO FOUND OUT BACK UP CAMERA IS OUT TOO. I JUST FOUND ON INTERNET TONITE , THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM DUE TO POOR DESIGN OF WIRE HARNESS IN TRUNK LID. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE SINCE YOU CANNOT GET IN TRUNK AND NO OPERABLE CAMERA . PLEASE SEE FOLLOWING: INOPERATIVE PARK AID CAMERA, LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LAMP, DECKLID RELEASE AND/OR POOR SATELLITE RADIO RECEPTION ' 2015-2017 FORD MUSTANG OEMDTC MAY 5, 2016 DIAGNOSTIC TIPS SSM 47306 ' 2015-2017 MUSTANG ' INOPERATIVE PARK AID CAMERA, LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LAMP, DECKLID RELEASE AND/OR POOR SATELLITE RADIO RECEPTION SOME 2015-2017 MUSTANG VEHICLES MAY EXPERIENCE AN INOPERATIVE REAR PARKING AID CAMERA, LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LAMP, DECK LID RELEASE AND/OR POOR SATELLITE RADIO RECEPTION. CHECK THE 14A005 WIRE HARNESS AT THE RIGHT DECK LID HINGE...
CAR WOULD IDLE THEN CUT OFF DURING STATIONARY, ENGINE WOULD CUT OFF WHILE IN MOTION ON HIGHWAY OR CITY STREET TURNING AND NOT TURNING. CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE OR MOVE WHEN PRESSING GAS. HEATED SEAT CAUGHT ON FIRE. STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS STOPPED WORKING. NEW BATTERY WOULD DIE THEN BE FINE, CAR HAVE PROBLEMS AFTER FILLING WITH GAS WOULD NOT START, BLACK AND WHITE SMOKE CAME OUT OF THE EXAUST AND DISPLAYED LOW FUEL WHEN IT HAD A FULL TANK. CAR RESTRICTED ME FROM DRIVING PAST 80. POWER TRAIN ISSUES , AUXILIARY EMISSION CONTROL FAILED, COMPUTER OUTPUT CIRCUIT FAILED.
CAR FAILS TO START ON REPEATED OCCASIONS. CAR INFORMATION INDICATES BATTERY VOLTAGE IS AT A 14.3 ON MANY OCCASIONS BUT CAR WILL NOT START. LIGHTS COME ON AS WELL AS INTERIOR ITEMS LIKE RADIO AND INFORMATION WINDOW. ON ONE OCCASION CAR SHUT OFF WHILE IN TRAFFIC, AND TOOK A FEW MINUTES TO GET TO RESTART. WHEN PUSH BUTTON START IS PUSHED CAR ACTS LIKE IT WANTS TO CRANK BUT DOES NOT. WHEN THIS HAPPENS I HAVE TO GET A JUMP TO GET THE CAR STARTED. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO FORD DEALERSHIP FOR DIAGNOSTICS ONLY FOR THEM TO TELL ME NOTHING IS WRONG, BUT THIS HAS HAPPENED CLOSE TO 10X TIMES NOW WITH NO REMEDY. WHEN IT DOES NOT START IS HAS BEEN EITHER STATIONARY OR IN MOTION WHETHER AT HOME , WORK OR CITY STREETS.
FORD INVENTED A NEW GRILL SHUTTER AND IN 1 1/2 YEARS ITS BROKE . THEY NOW SAY IT NOT THERE FAULT AND $1,100 TO REPLACE THERE DEFECTIVE DESIGN .
