2015 Ford Focus, 67,000 miles would jerk , shudder & shut off completely , it would not accelerate or reverse half of the time. Stops in the middle of no wear.. the engine light would come on for a few days then go off and come up again.. the music stopped working& the RPM’s would go pass the 6,7 or 8 at only 10-15 miles & jerk while goin forward .. a safety problem would pop up “ transmission overheating stop safety “ my air would blow hot some days and it would smell like something burning.. confirmed by dealership it’s the clutch .. no warnings for these problems besides jerking / not accelerating at a reasonable speed and safety problem stating to “ stop safely transmission overheating “ &a burning smell & 2 safety recalls for the clutch & TCM with extended warranty. While accelerating from a stop at a red light, engine shuddered and almost died out in the middle of the intersection. Check engine light came on. Drove carefully for a few more minutes to work. While trying to accelerate, RPMs go really high like it doesn’t want to shift gears. Got to work where I always back into my parking spot, vehicle would not go into reverse.

When driving in stop and go traffic 0=5 mph for about 30 mins the car began to act as if was slipping and revenge up without moving and engine light came on and would sometimes slam into gear. I placed vehicle in sport mode and it idled irratically to the point I felt it was going to shut down. Upon arrival home I realized that now reverse had went out when attempting to put car in driveway. I will be taking it into Ford today for the 1 recall on the fuel canister software but I feel that it is not related and hope they will make some discovery and fix it accordingly.

Radio and speakers have not worked for over a year- making loud popping and screeching sounds. Automotive center #1 stated it was a computer system fail and they could not fix it because they did not have the proper software. Then I went to get a new fuse for the cigarette lighter and was told something is leaking. Took it to Firestone automotive center to be told nothing is leaking and I should go to Ford because it is most likely a sensor issue. Car says it is overheating when it is in idle. And no one I go to seems to care to help me get things fix. Ford can't help for 2 weeks due to availability. This has been the worst experience with a car I have encountered with trying to figure out the problem.

Car began losing power particularly at low speeds. AAA inspected vehicle and determined that clutch and transmission would need to be replaced (~$10K repair). This is the second time the transmission and clutch have been replaced. The car has a total of 50,000 miles on it (ie, it is still, mechanically, very, very young ) Manufacturer seems to have known about the issue.

Was driving the vehicle and saw that the vehicle was losing coolant change the coolant reservoir and the replaced both of the heater hose, all of a sudden it was still losing coolant but I was always topping it out with coolant. Until the day that it gave out

Vehicle will loose power and ac as if the gears are slipping causing a sudden reduced speed. The transmission warnings will also light up stating transmission overheating.

Start the vehicle, put it in reverse, stop and change gears to drive and the vehicle will not move forward the steering wheel jerks. I have to put the car in park turn off the engine and then power back on and try again.

The transmission has been repaired only to have worse problems surface. Overnight, I lost my Reverse and a week later the Drive function stopped working. It placed me in a dangerous situation. I was at a gas station, suddenly no Reverse. I was wedged between cars. I had to push it backwards to give room for the car in front. I took it to Ford and they wanted $3000 for a clutch, they made me pay $210 diagnosis fee at Gene Butman Ford. I was angry. I went to a part store, the part was $245!!! I told Ford this car has been in for recalls with transmission and evaporative system. This is at least the third time for the transmission. It's a 2015, only 115,000 miles on it and it already is a piece of junk. I'm never buying a Ford again. The dealership folk were rude and offered...

Car will not go in reverse and shakes vigorously when shifting gears. We think it is an issue with the transmission. I called multiple ford dealerships as focuses have known transmission issues with these exact symptoms, but they said they cannot take a look for weeks. They have a policy where they will give rental cars for these transmission issues, but they are pretending they are not sure what the issue is and will not take a look for weeks, leaving me without a car for weeks because ford sold me a defective car.

Vehicle stalls & shuts off during use with zero warning, both while in park and while car is running and stopped with foot on brake at a stoplight, and also seems sluggish and straining during active driving as if it wants to stall and shut down. When this stall/complete shut down occurs, it also becomes locked in whatever gear it was in (Park or Drive) when the stall & immediate shutdown occurs and the gearshift...

My 2015 ford focus has continually stopped in traffic causing a safety risk to other drivers and myself. I've taken it in for recalls and repairs but the problem still exists. The front rail hp switch was replaced and the hp fuel pump was replaced too. I'm afraid for people and my life. I have googled the problem and I see thousands of people have the same problem and can't get it fixed without dumping thousands of dollars into it. This has gone too far. I need help. Please. MY CAR HAS A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WITH CODE P1450. THIS PROBLEM OCCURRED IN 2019 AND WAS ADDRESSED BY REPROGRAMMING THE PCM. IN 2021 I GOT THE SAME CODE AND NOW THE PURGE VALVE IS STUCK OPEN. I NOTICED THAT AFTER ADDING FUEL THE CAR HAD TROUBLE STARTING UP UNTIL I GAVE IT A LITTLE EXTRA GAS. I WAS ADVISED NOT TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AS IT MAY STALL, SUDDENLY GO INTO LIMP MODE, OR THE FUEL TANK MAY COLLAPSE. I WOULD LIKE TO NOTE THAT ALL OTHER FOCUSES OF THIS GENERATION HAVE RECEIVED A RECALL ON THE PURGE VALVE, BUT EXCLUDING MY ENGINE THE 1.0. A LOT OF DIGGING INTO FORUMS HAS SHOWN ME THAT MANY 1.0 OWNERS HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH THEIR FOCUS. QUITE SHADY TO RECALL ONLY SOME OF THE FOCUSES WHEN IT SEEMS THAT IT'S A COMMON PROBLEM WITH ALL ENGINE VARIATIONS.

THE TRANSMISSION IS NOT SHIFTING GEARS PROPERLY. WE TOOK IT TO THE MECHANIC AND HE SAID THAT IT IS A COMPUTER PROBLEM. THE ONLY THING THAT CAN SOLVE THE PROBLEM IS A MASTER RESET. THE MECHANIC SAID THAT THAT IT IS NOT SOMETHING THAT CAN BE FIXED AND THE VEHICLE SHOULD BE RECALLED.

THE CAR HAS A HARD TIME ACCELERATING AND ALMOST ALMOST DOESNT SOMETIMES. THE ENGINE WAS SILENT BUT NOW THE ENGINE SEEMS KIND OF LOUD WHEN STARTING UP. THE CAR WAS IN MOTION ON THE STREET.

WHILE DRIVING MY CAR OR EVEN ALLOWING MY CAR TO IDLE IT STARTS SHAKING AND WILL SHUT OFF. ONCE IT IS OFF IT IS VERY HARD TO GET AND KEEP IT STARTED. ONCE I DO GET IT STARTED I HAVE TO REV THE ENGINE BETWEEN 3K AND 4K RPM JUST TO GET IT TO STOP DOING THIS. I FIRST THOUGHT IT WAS ONLY WHEN PUTTING FUEL IN OR IDLING BUT IT IS HAPPENING ALL THE TIME. I USED INJECTOR CLEANER AND OCTANE BOOSTER TO TRY TO HELP BUT IT IS NOT WORKING. IT IS THROWING A FUEL ISSUE WHEN PUT ON THE DIAGNOSTIC. IT HAPPENS TO THE POINT WHERE I CANNOT SAFELY DRIVE MY CAR. THE DEALERSHIP STATED IT IS PROBABLY THE CANISTER PURGE VALVE BUT MY VIN IS NOT LISTED ALTHOUGH IF FALLS WITHIN THE YEAR OF THE RECALL.

I WAS DRIVING TO WORK ON THE HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH AND THE TACHOMETER GAUGE STARTED BOUNCING AND THE THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. RIGHT BEFORE THE ENGINE SHUTOFF IT ACTED LIKE THE FUEL WAS VAPOR LOCKED AND THE ENGINE WAS NOT RECEIVING AN ADEQUATE AMOUNT OF FUEL. THE FUEL GAUGE SHOWED 1/2 TANK OF GASOLINE. MY CAR WAS FIXED LAST FALL BECAUSE OF A FUEL TANK RECALL. THE DEALERSHIP INSTALLED A CANISTER PURGE VALVE AND FLASHED THE TCM. BEFORE THE DEALERSHIP INSTALLED THE CANISTER PURGE VALVE AND FLASHED THE TCM I EXPERIENCED THE SAME PRIOR TO THE DEALERSHIP FIXING THE DECAL. NOW WHENEVER MY VEHICLE GETS AT OR BELOW A HALF OF A TANK ON MY FUEL GAUGE IT ACTS LIKE IT'S STARVING FOR FUEL AND IS GOING TO DIE OUT.

MY CAR APPEARS TO OVER HEAT WHILE IDLED; SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY AND AGAIN WAITING IN A DRIVE THROUGH. THIS HAD HAPPENED BEFORE OVER A YEAR AGO AND IT IS HAPPENING AGAIN. I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS A RECALL TRANSMISSION ISSUE AND IT WAS FIXED. I RECEIVE A WARNING STATING THAT THE CAR IS TOO HOT PULL OVER BECAUSE IT WILL CUT OFF. I TURN OFF MY CAR FOR A MINUTE OR LESS AND IT RETURNS TO NORMAL. THIS TAKES PLACE IF THE AC IS ON OR NOT.

I HAD MY FORD FOCUS TRANSMISSION REPAIRED AT LEAST THREE TIMES SO FAR. AS OF TODAY, THE CAR IS STILL STALLING AND JERKING. I SCHEDULED A SERVICE MAINTENANCE TODAY. BUT, I WAS TURNED DOWN BY TODD ( SERVICE REP) AND BOB (SERVICE MANAGER) BECAUSE THE LEVEL OF EFFECTIVENESS WAS NOT AMOUNTED TO 250. THEREFORE, THEY RECOMMEND THAT I SHOULD CONTINUE DRIVING THE CAR AS IS AND RISK MY LIFE AND MY FAMILY. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. MY LIFE AND MY FAMILY LIFE IS WORTH MORE THAN $3000.

I HAVE A 2015 FORD FOCUS THAT I GOT FINANCE THROUGH MARIN COUNTY FORD, APRIL 2017. I HAVE TAKEN MAY CAR TO MARIN COUNTY FORD AND RECENTLY HILLTOP FORD REGARDING THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON AND TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. WHEN I DRIVE THE CAR CITY/HIGHWAY IT SHUDDERS, HAS SLOW SPEED, SHIFTING GEARS, RUNNING HOT AND WILL NOT GO INTO REVERSE. I TOOK MY CAR BACK TO HILLTOP FORD AND THEY DIDN'T FIX THE TRANSMISSION. THEY BROKE THE COOLANT TUBE AND CHARGE ME TO FIX IT. THE ISSUES HAVE NOT BEING RESOLVED AS OF MAY 21, 2020 MY CAR IS UNDRIVABLE AND I HAVE TO REGISTER IT NEXT MONTH BY JULY 7, 2020 AS NON OPERABLE. THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT ON THIS VEHICLE ALONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION. WE LIVED IN THE DESERT AT THE TIME (PHOENIX METRO/SAN ANTONIO TO BE EXACT); YET WHEN WE TOOK IT IN FOR WORK THE MECHANIC HAD FOUND EXTENSIVE RUST DAMAGE TO EVERYTHING. PAID OUT-OF-POCKET FOR A NEW STEERING COLUMN AND REBUILT TRANSMISSION. NOW, SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE RADIATOR COMPARTMENT. I BELIEVE THAT SOMEWHERE THERE IS DAMAGE BECAUSE ONCE WE ARE DONE DRIVING FOR A BIT, THE ENTIRE RESERVOIR WILL LEAK OUT ONTO THE GROUND. *TR

CAR WOULD SHUTTER THAN STOP RUNNING WHILE IT WAS IN MOTION. THE OIL LIGHT AND BATTERY LIGHT WOULD COME ON. ONLY ONCE THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THEN THE CAR WOULDN'T START AGAIN FOR AWHILE, AT LEAST 20 MINUTES. THIS PROBLEM WOULD KEEP ON HAPPENING THE LONGER THE CAR HAD BEEN ON, FOR EXAMPLE, EVERY TIME WE HAD TO STOP, SUCH AS AT A STOP LIGHT ON A CITY STREET, THE CAR WOULD SHUTTER THEN SHUT OFF. ONCE, IT HAD SHUT OFF ON AN EXPRESSWAY AS I WAS ABOUT TO GO ON AN EXIT AND IT WOULDN'T TURN ON AGAIN FOR AN HOUR.
