I WAS DRIVING DOWN A STREET IN MY 2006 F250 SD, WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE HORN HONKED AND STAYED ON (NOT LIKE HONK HONK BUT LIKE HHHHOOONNNKK) I HAD TO STOP AND PULL THE FUSE TO GET THE HORN TO TURN OFF. IT IS A SAFETY RISK DUE THE WAY OTHER DRIVERS GET STARTLED BUY THIS SUDDEN NOISE. AND MAY VERY WELL CAUSES AND ACCIDENT OR KILL SOME ONE IF IT HAPPENS AT THE WRONG TIME. I HAVE READ ONLINE THAT IS HAPPENS ALOT IN THE 03-06 F250, AND WHEN FORD FIXED MY TRUCK THEY REPLACED THE FUSE BOX, DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG AND HORN ASSEMBLY(AT A COST OF 1486.80). STATING THAT IF I HAD BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT THE AIR BAG MIGHT NOT HAVE DEPLOYED. SO MY LIFE COULD HAVE VERY MUCH BEEN IN DANGER......... THANKS FORD... *TR
WHILE DRIVING MY 2006 F250 DIESEL SUPER DUTY (HAVE ABOUT 35000 MILES ON IT) PULLING A 26 FOOT RV TRAVEL TRAILER LOST THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. THE SPEEDOMETER WENT TO 0, CRUISE CONTROL RESET AND BASICALLY ALL ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS SHUT DOWN. THE TRUCK GOT REAL QUIET. ABOUT 5 SECONDS LATER THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM RESTORED AND ONLY LIGHT THAT CAME ON, THE DASH WAS THE ABS LIGHT. THE ABS LIGHT REMAINED ON FOR ABOUT ANOTHER 100 MILES AND THEN WENT OFF. DROVE ANOTHER 200 MILES WITH NO MORE PROBLEMS. BROUGHT THE TRUCK TO FORD BUT THERE WERE NO ENGINE CODES STORED AND PROBLEM COULD NOT BE RECREATED. *TR
2006 FORD F250 SUPERDUTY GENERATOR IS FAULTY AS STATED BY FORD TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLITEN DATED SEPTEMBER 19TH 2006. *TR
FORD F-250 SD, 5.4L ENGINE. REPEATED OCCURRENCES OF ABS LIGHT ACTIVATION AFTER ONE TO ONE-AND-A-HALF HOURS AT CRUISING SPEEDS BETWEEN 55 AND 70 MPH. IF CRUISE CONTROL IS ACTIVE WHEN ABS LIGHT ACTIVATES, CRUISE CONTROL IS DISABLED. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, THE SPEEDOMETER NEEDLE GYRATED ERRATICALLY FOR A FEW SECONDS ALSO. AFTER THE ABS LIGHT IS ACTIVATED, IT STAYS ON. FREQUENTLY, IT COMES BACK ON IMMEDIATELY, SOMETIMES THROUGH SEVERAL RESTARTS OF THE TRUCK. THAT IS, SOMETIMES THE ABS LIGHT COMES BACK ON IMMEDIATELY WHEN THE TRUCK IS RE-STARTED. BRAKING SEEMS UNAFFECTED. *TR
LARGE INACCURACIES ON THE SPEEDOMETER,SOMETIMES DOESN'T WORK AT ALL SOMETIMES STUCK ON ONE SPEED. NEVER THE RIGHT SPEED.*TR
AFTER LETTING 2006 F250 DIESEL WARM UP FOR APPROXIMATELY 5MINS, PROCEED TO GET ONTO I-35, ABOUT 5 MILES FROM THE HOUSE WHEN I SET THE CRUISE CONTROL FOR 70MPH EVERYTHING WAS FINE. WITHIN A MILE OF GETTING ON THE HIGHWAY, TRUCK HESITATED AND COMPLETELY STALLED. I MOVE THE VEHICLE ONTO THE SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY TO AWAIT A TOW. I TOOK IT TO A FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY FOUND THAT THE FICM WAS BAD. A DAY AFTER I PICKED UP THE TRUCK, AGAIN, THE VEHICLE HESITATED FOR A SECOND BEFORE STALLING IN CITY TRAFFIC. I LOST POWER BRAKES AND POWER STEERING AND WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO GET OFF OF THE CITY STREETS. CURRENTLY TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN, WHERE THE ISSUE IS UNDER INVESTIGATION. CONCERN THAT IF SOMEONE OTHER THAN A 6'4" PERSON WAS DRIVING THIS 7500LB VEHICLE, THEY MAY NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO STEER THIS VEHICLE OUT OF...
BLOWN TURBO - JUNE 07 9/4/07 THE MOTOR RPM RAN UP AS IF A CLUTCH WAS SLIPPING AND THE TRUCK WOULD NOT GO FASTER THAN 35 MPH FOR A MINUTE 3 MILES TO HOME AND TRUCK RAN EXTREMELY ROUGH CALLED FOLSOM LAKE FORD- 14,440 MILES. 9/5/07 BRAD SAYS IT APPEARS TO BE A WIRING HARNESS..SOMETHING TO DO WITH A RUB ON THE EXHAUST BACKPRESSURE HARNESS AND HE WILL CALL ME LATER. QTD, LOOKS LIKE AN INJECTOR, #1 AND THEY WILL ORDER IT AND GET IT PUT IN PROBABLY TOMORROW. 9/6/07 BRAD SAYS INJECTOR REPLACED BUT WANT TO KEEP IT OVERNIGHT. BRAD QTD THAT WE HAVE A LOT OF THESE 6.0'S COME IN AND NO ONE REALLY LIKES DEALING WITH THEM AS THEY CAN BE VERY TROUBLESOME.
