The vehicle produces an extremely loud static or popping blast from the speakers at startup or during operation. The volume controls do not respond and the noise can only be stopped by shutting the vehicle off. The sound is ear-piercing, leaves ringing in the ears, and startles the driver. This has occurred more than once. One incident happened while driving on the freeway and nearly caused a loss of control due to the sudden and extremely loud noise. Another occurrence was captured on video while the vehicle was being operated at low speed. The condition occurs without warning and cannot be reproduced on demand. The vehicle is equipped with the B&O Unleashed audio system. No warning lights or messages appear prior to the event. A dealer acknowledged the condition and indicated that a module reprogramming is required to correct it. Ford has issued Special Service Message (SSM) 51663 addressing loud...

My 2022 Ford F150 wouldn’t start one morning. There was power and a lot of codes came up on the dash pod. I had it towed to the Ford dealer and they confirmed a no start situation. They replaced the under hood fuse box (warped from heat) and ultimately found a chaffed wiring harness with corroded and broken wires. It’s my opinion that a wiring harness is not a wearable item and this was caused by a friction situation. It’s my opinion that this could potentially be a safety issue if I was driving the vehicle and this happened it would be a total loss of power. The Ford dealer repaired the 2 wires and re-taped the harness.

My truck continues to have the radio distortion problems that it has had after numerous software updates and repair actions. Approximately the first week of November in 2022 is when the first radio problem occurred. I only had the vehicle for about a month. The radio played an extremely loud distortion sound, close to an alarm tone, immediately after starting the truck. 3 different Ford dealers attempted software updates and replacing the APIM module, but the issue came back several times. After the last Over the Air software update on SEP 17, 2025, the radio distortion has happened at least 6 times since then. The SEP 17 update specifically addressed the audio issues while using android auto. My warranty expired on July of 2025. I did not take delivery of the truck until late September because of shipping issues. Even with the delayed delivery of the truck, Ford told me...

The drivers side window will at times stay in the down position. The safety issue is during rain, snow or very cold conditions the driver is distracted by the down window. I did call a dealer who said this happens and I need to go thru a crazy procedure to get window up. No one has looked into this problem. The Ford dealers are well aware of this problem and there are many videos out that describe the problem. There is no for warning of a problem.

Constant Transmission Issues with the 10R80 Ten Speed transmission. One Complete replacement and Numerous Tear Dow's Since with the Issue Still unresolved. The vehicle we feel is Unsafe and Not reliable by any stretch of anyones Imagination! This Vehicle has 14,700 Miles on the Odometer, as we just don't drive it that Much due to the unresolved Issue's that the FORD CORP deems "NORMAL" Operation's of said Truck??

So I was walking back to my truck and could hear a really loud humming/buzzing. As I approached my truck in the parking lot, I realized it was my truck. It was SUPER loud, like the radio was turned all the way up. It had a consistent rhythm to it also. I was wondering if maybe the alarm had tried to go off since I was a QT, but it was just blasting through the internal speakers, nothing over the external speaker. I started it hoping it would stop. It did not, I shut it back off, and restarted it. It was making the super loud noise this entire time. I turned off the radio, turned off the display, disconnected my phone from the connection, and nothing worked. I had to drive home about 15 minutes with it making this horrible and loud pulsating noise the entire time. I parked,...

Vehicle will inadvertantly accelerate or set cruise control to high speeds when on residential and low speed roads. Several times when either coming to a stop or accelerating from a stop vehicle has entered cruise control at 55-57 mph. Had to brake to stop vehicle acceleration.

Hv harness failed (confirmed by dealer/manufacturer) without known reason and without warning, leaving stranded, unable to move vehicle.

My vehicle has continued to have major issues with the radio/audio system. The radio will experience an extremely loud distorted sound when I start the vehicle. It is extremely unsafe since the vehicle can't be operated while this is going on. During the worst situation, I've had to disconnect the battery in order to make the sound stop. I had the first issue happen less than 3 weeks after purchasing the truck in 2022. I had to take it to 3 different dealers in my local area, with NO REPAIR action, before I returned it to the original dealer. The Metter Ford dealer put me in a loaner vehicle while the technical engineer researched the problem. During that first problem, the software was reprogrammed and the APIM module was replaced. However, the problem has continued to this day. The last time it occurred was today, on 12/3/2025. I believe Ford...

The electric motors in the hybrid system intermittently fault and fail completely. I get an error saying there's a powertrain/4wd system failure. There's no clear cause. I've had this in for service numerous times. I've paid for a repair that did not resolve it. They had me pay for a repair for a new alternator-generator unit ($1500). When I get this fault, the truck operates only on gas power and does not use any electric motor power. I go from ~21 mpg highway (which is lower than when new) to ~18 mph highway.

the vehicle fails to accelerate when coming of a turn, the accelerator pedal does not respond for several seconds, then the vehicle lunges forward. Ford was contacted and no fix for this problem. I think this is very dangerous.

The daytime running light on the passenger side of the vehicle has failed very prematurely - before even reaching 40000 miles. This is an issue as it puts me at risk if other drivers cannot see my lights. The problem is permanent and the entire headlight must be replaced. No warnings were present, I only happened to notice when approaching my truck one day.
#11689324 | Crash
9/17 driving home. Light rain. Put the truck in slippery mode prior to starting my drive. Truck was actually slipping and seemed to be shutting off and on. Prior to me being able to pull off to the side of the road, the truck stalled and spinned out across five lanes slamming into the barrier.

I recently ought a 2022 Ford F-150 off of a private seller. It had a clean Carfax when I bought it. About a month after I bought the truck, on July 24, 2025, the following warning lights appeared on my dash all on the same day. Blind Spot Assist Not Available, Cross Traffic Assist Not Available, and Reverse Brake Assist Not Available. Also, my drivers side window would not roll down, and my drivers side lock/unlock buttons would not work. There were not any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. So I took my truck into Gary Smith Ford in Fort Walton Beach, FL. on July 25, 2025 and they came back with the file I have uploaded below with the diagnosis and estimate. Of course the warranty has just expired a few months ago. We tried to make a claim with our...

The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked in the driveway and attempting to start the vehicle, the brake pedal was pumped approximately four times and the contact pressed the push-to-start button, but the vehicle failed to start. Additionally, there was an unintended activation of the electric parking brake. The contact stated that the battery seemed to be completely discharged. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V509000 (Parking Brake); however, the VIN was not included. The local dealer mobile service technician arrived at the residence and jumpstarted the vehicle, and the technician was able to disengage the electric parking brake. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where the contact was informed that the battery was in good condition, and a system check was completed. The vehicle was repaired....

This is regarding ford's known issue with their evaporator cited in TSB 22-2089. The evaporator caused a compressor to fail, which caused a power train failure notification in sync and on the phone app. The compressor is under warranty, but the evaporator is not, which causes a $3600 repair (parts and labor). According to the bulletin, the evaporator known issue is NOT considered a threat to life, even though it certainly is a threat to life to not have air conditioning in hotter states. The part is currently being replaced at our local dealership.

While driving multiple issues presented themselves. First was a drivers screen warning light. It said Drivetrain Malfunction-Power Reduced. I was on a 1000-mile road trip and wisas well into the trip. I kept driving without any operating issues with the exception of having steering wheel button controls malfunctions also. They included cruise control cancel button not working. The slow down button actually speeding up. This issue was actually repaired previously and now it is presenting itself again. Very unsafe when buttons work in reverse or don't work as intended. The Drivetrain Malfunction disappeared for the next few days but came back. There have been other wiring splicing repairs made at the dealer and these could be related. The wires were spliced because a wiring harness could not be obtained as it was backordered. Vehicle is just out of warranty and only has 23K miles. Critical wiring has corroded already.

Vehicle stalls out every 3-5 minutes after starting. Vehicle stops and will restart after start up but will only once again run for 3-5 minutes. Vehicle is a hazard on the road as well to the passengers. Local Ford Dealership and Ford Corp. both admit there is a recall (25S75) on my 2022 F-150 but are unaware of how to repair the vehicle. I am to wait until Ford develops a solution. Unwilling to provide a loaner vehicle while Ford comes up with a solution. They told me 3-6 months.

Speakers with B&O unleashed made pop sound and loud static. 5th time this has happened twice almost causing accident due to how loud and abrupt it was.
#11663148 |
Stereo blasted static at full volume at decibels dangerously exceeding healthy limits while driving and would not turn off. Had to stop the vehicle and turn off in the middle of the road. Sound was so loud that my hearing was impacted and there is now ringing in both ears. If children were present, it would have been devastating. I was stuck in the middle of the road while traffic routed around my vehicle. If this happens to someone else, the noise/volume is so disorienting it could cause involuntary breaking or steering, resulting in a car accident. Please help, this is unacceptable.

This vehicle has random bursts and loss of power due to the transmission not shifting properly. There is a noise coming from the passenger front that may be tied to transmission failure. Pre collision assist isn’t working due to ECM problem.

2022 Ford F-150. The vehicle displays a warning message that reads, "Trailer Disconnected" continuously. It comes on as soon as the engine is started and comes back on as quickly as I can press the "OK" button to make it go away. I have taken the truck to the dealer for repairs four times so far and it still comes back. I have paid to have the trailer break control module reprogrammed as well as having a new one installed. The Ford web site lists this as a recall for the '22 F-150 but not for my specific VIN so it would appear the problem is larger than they know. Here is the link to Ford's description of the recall: [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Twice while driving my vehicle, the on board display screen will start to flicker and then show multiple lines going through it to where you can’t see anything on the screen. You have to turn the vehicle off and then turn it back on to reset it. It looks almost as if it were a flatscreen TV that had been punched.

Deafening sound emitted from speakers in vehicle while driving. Events are as follows: Volume stuck on 0 (minimum) changed source from wireless CarPlay Spotify IOS to FM. Popping started. No volume adjustment possible. Source change did not fix. On/off button did not fix. Key cycle with door open did not fix. Several attempts. Audio turns off, but with ignition immediately starts popping. Drove for at least 1 minute to safe spot while the popping/ static continued at max volume. Disconnected negative terminal on battery. The only way to fix the issue. Ears still ringing after two hours.

My F150, like many others that I've read about in the forums, has an issue with the internal cabin temperature. It blows way too hot and isn't adjustable as designed. Clearly, this in itself is not a safety concern and rather an inconvenience that Ford won't seem to figure out and fix. The issue is that when the heat is turned to High (which is meant to be around 85F), it blows out air at around 160F and this can easily burn someone who touches the vents - such as my young kids. Ford needs to resolve this safety (and inconvenient) concern.

The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the power outlets in the front and rear of the vehicle were inoperable. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the failure was related to TSB: 24-2020. The contact called the local dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact called another local dealer, Summerville Ford (9700 Dorchester Rd, Summerville, SC 29485); but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150 Hybrid. The contact stated that after depressing the recirculate button to recycle the air in the vehicle due to allergies, the recirculate system was activated temporarily. The contact stated that allergens were entering the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure caused him to become distracted by allergies and to be distracted while reaching out to the recirculate button again, nearly causing the vehicle to veer off the road. The contact stated that the recirculating system only activated for up to 10 minutes when engaged. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the contact was advised that there was no fix for the failure because the recirculating system was operating as designed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 6,000. The VIN was not available.

I was driving around 35-40mph, slowing down, heading to a right hand turn lane. No vehicles in front of me. As I crossed over my lane into the turn lane my e-brake automatically came on and my pre collision braking light came on. No warning, nothing caused by me, and I have no clue how it happened. I had to physically pull the e-brake lever to release the brakes on a major road.

The daytime running light on my headlights is an LED strip that completely lost all use. Ford is having us replace the whole headlight unit for their manufacture issue. Ford refuses a fix and says a $1700 replacement headlight unit is the only way to get it fixed. It is their headlight components for the LED daytime running light.

I am constantly receiving error messages that pop up while driving telling me that there is a headlight system malfunction. I have also had adaptive cruise control lane. Keep assist and associated features.Uh pop up as error warnings. My headlights are cornering headlights while driving. They have failed by moving to the downward and inward position and stayed in that position, significantly reducing my visibility. My alarm constantly goes off for no reason. While driving, the speaker system makes a very loud noise. That almost sounds like a gunshot.Hitting the windshield, which is extremely frightening and will cause you to jerk in response. I have taken this back to the dealership five times trying to get this diagnosed, and it still cannot be fixed. I have asked that this be considered a lemon. Due to covid, my diagnostic time was pushed back beyond the one year mark, so I was...

Ford has an outstanding Technical Service Bulletin (24-2039) that they have not notified me in a timely manner. If they had done so, it was have been replaced by Ford at their expense, either as part of bumper to bumper warranty or as a recall. Instead, the only way to find error is to have Service department run a system wide check. Ford dealer technician also feels its should be part of a recall. It's an expensive repair, $655 to replace the DC/AC inverter. This should be a recall item and notices should go to car owners.

My rear passenger side window will not go back up. It is constantly receiving power to pull the roll the window down. This is a known problem in the community. If you visit any Ford F-150, Explorer, or Maverick forum, there are post about work arounds on how to get the window up and temporarily get the window to stay up until the part comes in to repair it the correct way. Many of the people are posting that it is a known problem and the Dealerships are just "Yeah, we know, the parts are on back order, we can get you scheduled when it comes in". My argument is that if it is a known issue, why is the Manufacturer waiting until the owner reports it to perform the repair. Especially, because due to the constant power being applied, it could burn up the power window motor, safety interlocks...

Three warnings light up: Antilock Brake Fault, Hill Start Assist Warning, and Pre-Collision Assist Not Available. Brakes failed. I was fortunate that no one was in front of me but the truck barely stopped. Took full pedal to the floor to force lockup. I am filing the matter as it does appear to be a frequently occurring concern in 2021 and 2022 models based on what I have read to date.

The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle went into sleep mode. The error message was displayed that the battery was low. While opening the door at night, there were no interior lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who informed the contact that the vehicle was working as designed. The dealer tested the battery and determined that the battery was working as designed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to another local dealer and the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 15,000.

I have a 2022 Ford F-150 Platinum with B&O Sound system. Yesterday, while driving I experienced a loud boom followed by loud staticky crackling sounds coming from the sound system. I thought I had been hit by another vehicle or somebody had thrown something at the car. I stopped immediately to see if glass was broken and got out of vehicle for fear it was going to burn or blow up. The crackling sound continued even after turning off the sound system and turning off the vehicle. The crackling continued for approximately 30 minutes. This morning, I started the car and the crackling sound was not present. This is a safety issue because it caused me to be alarmed and behave in abrupt manner to get out of the car, and may have even caused hearing damage.

While driving A/C unit will slowly stop blowing cold air. It is very random when this happens and the vehicle has to sit a for a while before it starts working again. Vehicle was purchase in August 2023 and the issue did not start until about 2 months ago and has now happened 4 times. First time I drover for hours before it happened, this last time I was only driving for 20 minutes. I think this is related to the Ford TBS 22-2089. I am just over the 36,000 mile Warranty, but under the 3 year Ford Warranty, so I will probably have to pay for this out of pocket. This should be a recall for affected vehicles as this is a very expensive fix to have on a 2 year old truck that was no fault of the owners.

This complaint was already documented here: NHTSA ID Number: 11487857 Turned my truck on to hear a LOUD pop, scared everyone inside. Speakers continued to crackle and pop, at a lower volume. No audio or music played. Thinking it would go away, I continued out of our neighborhood. When it didn't, I stopped and turned the truck off, as well as locking the vehicle, with the same crackling noise coming from the speakers despite everything being shut off. Turned the truck back on and went through audio settings. The only thing that made it stop was switching from "Stereo" to "Surround" mode in the settings.

This morning, as soon as I started the vehicle and started backing down the driveway, an unbelievably loud popping sound emitted from the speakers. I immediately slammed on the brakes having no idea what had just happened. This has happened previously but have not heard in a few months so I thought the problem was corrected. It is the loudest noise I have ever experienced and is extremely dangerous as it happens at different times and is just ear splitting. My ears are still ringing and it happened at 8:45am this morning.

The computer/s that control every piece of equipment does not function as designed! The cruise control adjusted the speed (upward) without touching the controls. The lane keeping function will drag the truck into a turnout lane, left or right especially on a two lane highway with turn out lanes. The windshield wiper control has to be constantly manipulated to keep the windshield clean during snow and or rain storms. The instrument panel constantly changes which distracts the driver as so does the computer screen. The pre collision equipment works only sometimes. All the computers installed affect the function of other computers which causes driver distraction, like txt and driving.
#11596627 |
Since I have purchased the 2022 Ford F-150 I have had several incidents where the cruise control has set itself. A couple incidents have resulted in me slamming on the brakes to avoid collision. I have taken it to the dealer a few times and they have replaced everything that has to do with the cruise control and it still sets itself from time to time but it's sporadic. The dash lights/instrument cluster has went completely out 2-3 time and came back on. When it does come back on the drive mode disabled light is on and I can't change the drive modes. The entertainment/map screen has froze up several time. The map will freeze and I can't change the music or do anything on the screen.

The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the display screen would display black and reboot itself before restarting. In addition, while driving the vehicle the rearview camera image remained on while driving forward. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module) needed to be replaced for the third time. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and two cases were opened. The failure mileage was approximately 27,275.
