WHILE DRIVING, THE HEADLIGHTS WILL GO OFF BY THEMSELVES. *TR
TURN SIGNALS WILL SWITCH BACK AND FORTH. IF YOU HAVE LEFT TURN SIGNAL ON, IT WILL SWITCH TO RIGHT SIGNAL THEN BACK TO LEFT AND VICE VERSA. *TR
THE REAR DOOR WIRES HAVE BROKEN ON BOTH DOORS, LOSING ALL CONNECTIVITY TO THE MAIN POWER SOURCE. AS A RESULT, POWER LOCKS AND LIGHTS THAT ARE CONNECTED IN THE REAR CANNOT BE ACTIVATED FROM THE MAIN CONSOLE. THE DOORS HAVE TO BE LOCKED MANUALLY. THIS IS A KNOWN FAILURE WITH DODGE TRUCKS AND NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. THE DEALER EVEN ADMITTED TO THIS BEING A CHRONIC PROBLEM WITH THE REAR DOORS ON THIS MODEL.
I HAD A WIPER MOTOR FAILURE. MY UNDERSTANDING OF THE DODGE RAM IS THERE IS A TOTAL INTEGRATED POWER MODULE THAT CONTROLS WIPERS, LIGHTS AND OTHER ELECTRICAL DEVISES. ONCE THE TIPM SEES THE 5TH FAULT IT SHUTS DOWN WHAT EVER IS CAUSING THE FAULT. IN MY CASE IT WAS A WIPER PROBLEM. ONCE THE UNIT FAULTS IT HAS TO BE REPLACED AND PROGRAMMED FOR THE VEHICLE. COST $1264.56 FOR A WIPER MOTOR REPAIR. *TR
ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS WHEN I PUT THE LEFT TURN SIGNAL ON, THE SIGNAL WILL START FLASHING AS THOUGH THE RIGHT TURN SIGNAL HAD BEEN ACTUATED. SOMETIMES THE RIGHT SIGNAL STARTS FLASHING AS SOON AS I TURN THE LEFT SIGNAL ON. ON OTHER OCCASIONS I WILL BE STOPPED WITH THE LEFT SIGNAL FLASHING AND IT WILL INTERMITTENTLY START FLASHING TO THE RIGHT FOR NO APPARENT REASON. OCCASIONALLY NEITHER OF THE SIGNALS WILL FLASH. *TR

DRIVING IN TRAFFIC AT NIGHT AND LOST TURN SIGNALS AND BRAKE LIGHTS ON TRAILER ALMOST CAUSED REAR END COLLISION. FOUND PROBLEM WAS WITH THE TIPM OR FUSE BOX. THE TRAILER WIRING FROM THE TIPM HAS NO FUSE AND IS SOME SORT OF RELAY AND CAN ONLY BE REPAIRED BY A DEALER. HAVE FOUND THIS TO BE A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH OTHER DODGE TRUCK OWNERS. MANY DIFFERENT CIRCUMSTANCES CAN CAUSE THIS FAILURE DUE TO ONLY A 15 AMP LIMIT BEFORE FAILURE. DEALERS SAY THEY CAN DO A REFLASH FOR AROUND $100.00 AND IF THAT DOES NOT WORK THE TIPM MUST BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $1000.00 AND THIS WOULD BE THE CASE EACH AND EVERY TIME THERE WAS A 15 AMP OVERLOAD TO THIS CIRCUIT. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AS DEALERS OR NOT OPEN 24 HOURS OR 7 DAYS A WEEK AND ALSO VERY EXPENSIVE. THIS SHOULD...
DASH LIGHTS STOPPED WORKING. THEY HAD WENT OUT ONCE BEFORE BUT CAME BACK ON THE NEXT DAY. AFTER ANOTHER DAY THEY WENT BACK OUT AND HAVEN'T WORKED SINCE. *TR
I HAVE HAD THE ABS SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT ON 5 OR 6 TIMES , TURN SIGNAL PROBLEMS- BOTH TURN SIGNALS WORK AT SAME TIME, A/C PROBLEMS WITH THE COMPRESSOR NOT WORKING AT TIMES AND NOW IS OUT ALL TOGETHER. ABS AND THE LIGHTING ISSUE IS THE BIGGEST PROBLEM SINCE IT IS A 2500 TRUCK AND I HALL HAY , TRACTORS AND A 30 FT 5TH WHEEL TRAILER, PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW WHAT I AM DOING OR CAN I STOP. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE RAM 2500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE RIGHT DIRECTIONAL SIGNAL AND BRAKE LIGHT FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE WAS LOCATED AT THE INTEGRATED PROGRAM MODULE. THE DEALER UPDATED THE SOFTWARE FOR THE INTEGRATED PROGRAM MODULE BUT THE CONTACT FELT THAT THE INTEGRATED PROGRAM MODULE SHOULD HAVE HAD A FAILURE NOTIFICATION ON THE INSTRUMENTAL PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 75,000. UPDATED 05/24/12 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE SAFETY ISSUE IS NOT ONLY WITH THE TRAILER HARNESS PACKAGE, BUT ALSO ANY ELECTRICAL CIRCUITS ON THE VEHICLE, AS THEY ALL GO THROUGH THE TIPM (TOTAL INTEGRATED POWER MODULE). IF THE MODULE DETECTS AN OVERLOAD OR SHORT, IT WILL SHUT DOWN THAT CIRCUIT, WITH NO WARNING. THE CONSUMER HAS TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FIVE TIME, TO HAVE IT RESET. UPDATED 05/25/12
FIRST INCIDENT MY TIPM MODULE WAS REPLACED DUE TO ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS IN APRIL 2010, THE NEXT INCIDENT WAS ON 4/22/12, MY BRAKE LIGHTS QUIT WORKING WHILE I WAS OUT OF TOWN, DURING THIS TRIP I WAS TRAVELING HOME, I TURNED ON MY CRUISE CONTROL WHILE DRIVING, I HIT THE BRAKES AND CRUISE CONTROL WOULD NOT CUT OFF, I FINALLY HAD TO PUT THE TRUCK IN NEUTRAL AND THE ENGINE KEPT REVVING HIGHER. I WAS EVENTUALLY ABLE TO GET IT TO TURN OFF . I MADE IT HOME THE NEXT DAY I TOOK IT TO A DEALERSHIP AND THEY ARE TELLING ME THE TIPM MODULE HAS TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED, IF MY WIFE OR SON WOULD HAVE BEEN DRIVING MY TRUCK ,I DON'T THINK THEY WOULD'VE BEEN ABLE TO CONTROL THIS SITUATION, THIS IS GOING TO BE THE SECOND TIME THIS...
GOT A LETTER FROM CHRYSLER THAT I WAS SUPPOSED TO GET MY TURN SIGNALS FIXED IF I HAD THIS PROBLEM I DID HAVE THE PROBLEM BUT IT DOESN'T HAPPEN ALL THE TIME, TOOK THE TRUCK TO DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY WILL NOT FIX THIS TURN SIGNAL PROBLEM IF IT ISN'T HAPPENING WHEN THEY TEST IT AT DEALER IT IS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM AND DOES NOT HAPPEN ALL THE TIME BUT I BELIEVE THAT THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE IF I AM SIGNALING ONE WAY AND MY TRUCK IS SHOWING A DIFFERENT WAY THAT COULD POSSIBLY CAUSE A CRASH OR CAUSE ME TO GET A TICKET. I PURCHASED MY 2006 DODGE 2500 4X4 BRAND NEW IN 2006. MY TRUCK IS IN GREAT CONDITION EXCEPT FOR TWO MAJOR CONCERNS..MY A/C WENT OUT IN DEC. 2010 IT WAS REPLACED WITH ANOTHER DEFECTIVE ONE WHICH WAS IMMEDIATELY REPLACED AGAIN. I TOOK TRUCK IN NOV. 2011 THE WINDSHIELD WOULD GET EXTREMELY FOGGY AND A NOISE WOULD COME FROM UNDER DASH WHEN I PUT A/C ON HIGH, DEALER SAID IT WAS THE FLAP THAT WOULD CONTROL WHERE THE AIR IS DIRECTED. THEY WANTED 800.00 TO REPLACE A 34.00 PART. I TOLD THEM THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIXED WHEN THEY REPLACED A/C. DEALER SAID IT STILL WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY ANYWAY. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE WHEN FOG GETS ON WINDSHIELD WHY DOES SOMEONE HAVE TO DIE BEFORE A PART IS RECALLED. I HAVE TO OPEN MY WINDOWS TO DEFROST MY WINDSHIELD....
TURN SIGNALS DO NOT WORK PROPERLY. WHEN YOU PUT ON YOUR LEFT TURN SIGNAL IT WILL LIGHT UP AS A RIGHT TURN SIGNAL OFTEN AND SAME WHEN YOU PUT ON YOUR RIGHT TURN SIGNAL THE LEFT WILL LIGHT UP. MOST OF THE TIME HOWEVER MY TURN SIGNALS WILL NOT EVEN COME ON. THIS HAS ALMOST CAUSED SEVERAL ACCIDENTS ITS REALLY BAD WHEN I AM PULLING TRAILERS. I HAD TO HAVE THE MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH REPLACED AT 40,000 MILES ALMOST TWO YEARS AGO, NOW AFTER DRIVING IT ALMOST ANOTHER 20,000 MILES IT IS DOING THE SAME THING. I WAS HALF WAY TO MY DESTINATION DRIVING ON A BUSY HIGHWAY AT 75MPH PULLING BOTH MY HORSES AND MY THREE HORSE TRAILER IN A RAIN STORM WHEN THE WIPERS SPORADICALLY STOPPED WORKING. ON THE HIGH SETTING THEY WENT TO LOW, THEN STOPPED, THEN STARTED AGAIN GOING FAST, THEN COMPLETELY QUIT POSING A SERIOUS HAZARD TO MYSELF, MY ANIMALS, AND ALL AROUND ME ON THE HIGHWAY. I HAVE REPLACED THE WIPER MOTOR WHICH ONLY MADE THE WIPERS MOVE VERY SLOWLY. THERE IS STILL A PROBLEM, LIKELY QUITE EXPENSIVE, WHICH WILL NEED TO BE FIXED. I OWN A 2006 DODGE RAM 2500 MEGACAB WITH 5.9 DIESEL ENGINE. THE AGENCY HAS RECEIVED THREE REPORTS OF IMPROPER TURN SIGNAL FUNCTION. THE COMPLAINANTS REPORT THAT MOVING THE TURN SIGNAL STALK TO SIGNAL A LEFT TURN CAN RESULT IN NO FLASHING OF THE LEFT TURN SIGNAL BUT IMPROPER FLASHING OF THE RIGHT TURN SIGNAL. LIKEWISE THE SAME OPPOSITE IMPROPER OPERATION OCCURS WHEN MOVING THE TURN SIGNAL STALK TO SIGNAL A RIGHT TURN. THE INCORRECT FLASHING SIGNAL APPEARS AT BOTH THE DASHBOARD INDICATOR LIGHT AND AT THE EXTERIOR FRONT AND REAR TURN SIGNAL LIGHTING POSITIONS. THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS RELATED TO THIS ISSUE ON THE WEB AND IT IS VERY DANGEROUS. PLEASE ADVISE. *KB

AT TIMES, THE TURN SIGNALS WILL NOT CANCEL. AT TIMES, LEFT AND RIGHT WILL FLASH WHEN ONLY ONE DIRECTION IS SELECTED. FINALLY, ON OCCASION, THE RIGHT OR LEFT WILL FLASH WHEN THE OPPOSITE IS SELECTED. THIS CREATES A HAZARDOUS SITUATION WHEN I'M EXECUTING A TURN AS OTHER DRIVERS DO NOT KNOW MY INTENTIONS AND I'VE ANGERED SOME AND HAD TWO NEAR MISS ACCIDENTS. I'VE NOT HAD NEED FOR MY 4-WAY FLASHERS, BUT WHEN I TEST THEM AT THE TIME OF THE SIGNAL MALFUNCTION, THEY DO NOT FUNCTION. THIS CAN BE EXTREMELY HAZARDOUS IN AN EMERGENCY ROAD SIDE EVENT. WHEN THE PROBLEM FIRST OCCURRED UNDER WARRANTY, I TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE DEALER AND THEY RE-PROGRAMMED THE ECM. THIS ELIMINATED THE PROBLEM...

FLASHERS WON'T TURN ON AT ALL. HAPPENS EVERY TIME I NEED MY FLASHERS, WIPERS, AND BLINKERS. REPLACED THE MULTI-FUNCTION SWITCH AND ALL OF THE PROBLEMS ABOVE ARE FIXED. I STILL HAVE THE OLD SWITCH AND I HAVE HEARD IT'S A COMMON PROBLEM. *TR
I OWN A 2006 DODGE RAM 2500 TRUCK WITH APPROXIMATELY 57000 MILES ON IT AND IT STARTED ACTING ERRATICALLY WITH THE LIGHTS AND WIPERS AND NOW THE BATTERY COMPLETELY GOES DEAD. WE HAVE REPLACED THE BATTERY AND CHECKED FOR DRAIN ON THE BATTERY. IN SPITE OF TURNING EVERYTHING OFF AND UNPLUGGING ANYTHING WHICH WOULD CAUSE A DRAIN ON THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IT STILL MADE A NEW BATTERY GO DEAD. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE IT WHEN THE WIPERS ACT SO FUNNY AND THE DIMMER SWITCH FAILS TO LOWER THE BEAMS. IT WOULD SEEM THAT THE ONLY SOLUTION IS TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER AT A CONSIDERABLE EXPENSE TO SEE WHAT IS WRONG. THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD INVESTIGATE AND REPAIR ANY DEFECT IN MATERIALS FOR THE TRUCK WITH THAT FEW MILES ON IT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS 2006 DODGE RAM 2500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TURN SIGNAL WAS DEFECTIVE AND WOULD ILLUMINATE SPORADICALLY WITHOUT BEING ACTIVATED. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DIAGNOSED THAT THE MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH NEEDED REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,500 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 60,000.

THE CONTACT INSPECTED THE VEHICLE HIMSELF AND LOCATED THE FAILURE AT THE POWER CONTROL MODULE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE 150,000.

THIS HAPPENS ON A REGULAR BASIS WHEN DRIVING THIS VEHICLE. IT IS NOW THAT I DO NOT UTILIZE TURN SIGNALS FOR FEAR THAT VEHICLES WILL MIS INTERPRET INTENTIONS AND CAUSE VEHICLE ACCIDENT. WENT TO DEALER AND THEY ARE AWARE OF ISSUE RECOMMENDING TURN SWITCH. *TR
TRYING TO MERG ONTO A HIGHWAY IN THE RAIN MY VEHICLES BLINKERS, LIGHT ADJUSTMENT, AND WINDSHIELD WIPERS WOULD NOT ACTIVATE. THIS EVENT DIDN'T RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT BUT IS A DANGEROUS RESULT OF A POORLY DESIGNED MULTI-FUNCTION SWITCH THAT CONTROLS BLINKERS AND WINDSHEILD WIPERS. THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURED PREVIOUSLY BUT NOT TO THE EXTENT FOR MYSELF OR OTHER TO COME INTO HARM AS IT DID TODAY. *TR
THE RIGHT TURN SIGNAL SWITCH WAS TURNED ON TO THE RIGHT AND AFTER THE TURN IT WOULD NOT SHUT OFF. I WAS ABLE TO GET IT TO SHUT OFF BY SWITCHING ON THE EMERGENCY FLASHERS. THROUGHOUT THE NEXT FEW DAYS THIS OCCURRED MULIPLE TIMES AND EACH TIME THE BLINKERS WOULD NOT SHUT OFF. I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO GET THE BLINKERS TO SHUT OFF BY CHANGING THE ANGLE OF THE ADJUSTABLE STEERING COLUMN.
AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON AFTER OWNING THE VEHICLE FOR 2.5 YEARS. THE WARRANTY DON'T COVER THE COST OF REPLACING THE MODULE. *TR
THE LEFT TURN SIGNAL ACTIVATES THE OPPOSITE OR BOTH LEFT AND RIGHT TURN SIGNALS. *TR
TL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE RAM 2500. THE CONTACT STATED THE TIPM HAS MALFUNCTIONED CAUSING EVERY ELECTRICAL COMPONENT NOT TO WORK. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER AND THE DEALER STATED THE TIPM NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT HAS NOT HAD THE TIPM REPLACED. THE DEALER DOES NOT KNOW WHAT CAUSED THE TIPM TO MALFUNCTION. THE CONTACT STATED THERE IS KNOW WAY OF TELLING IF THE NEW TIPM WILL NOT MALFUNCTION WHILE DRIVING. THE CONTACT STATED THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS REGARDING THE TIPM AND A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED. I HAVE 2006 DODGE RAM 2500 TRX4, I STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY RT REAR TURN SIGNAL APPROX 2 MONTHS AGO. THOUGHT IT WAS BULB, WASN'T! I TOOK TRUCK TO LOCAL AUTO ELECTRIC SHOP, WAS TOLD ON DEC 14TH, 2010 THAT THE PROBLEM WAS THE ENTIRE FUSE BLOCK THAT CONTROLS THE TURN SIGNALS. HE CALLED DODGE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE PART WOULD RUN OVER $700 AND THAT THERE WERE 200 ALREADY ON BACK-ORDER! NOW, JAN 3RD, 2011 WHEN I PUSH ON BRAKE THE RT REAR LIGHT FLICKERS/FLASHES AS IF THE TURN SIGNAL IS WORKING. I DON'T BELIEVE THAT $700 PLUS LABOR IS ACCEPTABLE FROM DODGE, AND EVEN IF I ORDERED THE PART THEY CAN'T TELL ME WHEN IT WOULD DELIVER DUE TO LARGE BACK LOG ON THEM. I HAVE A 2006 DODGE MEGA CAB 2500 4X4 SLT WITH ~53K MILES ON IT. ABOUT 1 MONTH AGO I STARTED TO EXPERIENCE ISSUES WITH USING MY LEFT TURN SIGNAL. DURING LIGHT MOMENTARY AND FULL LEFT TURN SIGNAL ACTUATION, MY RIGHT TURN SIGNAL WOULD COME ON AND THE LEFT TURN SIGNAL WOULD NOT COME ON. THE OCCURRENCES HAPPEN AT RANDOM TIMES AND FOR RANDOM DURATIONS OF TIME. NORMAL DRIVING, NO RAIN, DAYLIGHT HOURS. OUTSIDE TEMP. WAS APPROX. 85 DEG F. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACTIVATE LEFT TURN SIGNAL FOR A LANE CHANGE, THE SIGNAL WOULD NOT ACTIVATE, WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO ACTIVATE IT AGAIN, THE RIGHT SIGNAL ACTIVATED. DURING THE DURATION OF MY TRIP I WAS ABLE TO REPLICATE THIS PROBLEM NUMEROUS TIMES, AFFECTING BOTH SIDES. WHEN THE HIGH BEAMS WERE ACTIVATED, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WOULD ENGAGE. IN ADDITION, WHEN ACTIVATING THE RIGHT TURN SIGNAL, THE LEFT INDICATOR LIGHT WOULD FLASH INSTEAD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE WAS ALMOST INVOLVED IN A CRASH BECAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 107,000.
