There is a class action law suit for newer rams mine has always done same thing since i have owned it occasionaly during slow speed turns it will shut off it will restart imediatly i have owned vehicle 4 years bought with 127000 miles now have 205000 miles on it
This will be the 4th time since late 2020 that this vehicle will stall either at a stop or at low speed. EGR valve has been replaced 3 times. You lose power steering and harder to brake but for the grace of God my wife has not had an accident. If you search online there are hundreds of similar complaints.
Tensioner for timing chain broke at highway speed truck stalled with no control or power steering to steer or breaks to immediate stop instead had to slow roll lucky live in small farm town with low population not alot of traffic could have been bad. Took to dealer dodge service department they noticed oil pan gasket was leaking when removed oil pan the tensioner and timing chain pieces were all in the bottom of oil pan..just like the challenger and charger cars the next group to have same motor as my truck and same issues with the MDS Being the problem on the tensioner why breaks in first place. Why theres recalled and not my same motor and problem? Any ways it failed and had to pay out of pocket on a faulty tensioner that is a very big safety concern and it I'm afraid caused more damage then that...
I want to make a complaint because the engine in my 2005 dodge ram 1500 Magnum stalling very often, engine stalling on the traffic freeway couple of times that I have to restart the vehicle quick, good thing cars going slow. The most scary time was when I was making a right turn on this busy avenue and the engine stalled and almost got hit by other's cars the engine stalling very often that already know when it dies I put it on P and restart it as quick as I can before I get hit by other car. The next issue. It makes a grinding sound underneath when taking off at very low speed. I not sure if it is the differential or a wheel but it something there I took it to the mechanic he fix something that was woren it connects to the differential but still makes...
STALLED AS I WAS PULLING OFF HIGHWAY, GOING INTO GAS STATION. LOST STEERING ALMOST HIT GAS PUMPS. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I HAVE REPORTED THIS. IT HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. I ALSO REPORTED THE ISSUE TO A DEALERSHIP A FEW YEARS AGO.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 142,000.
TAKATA RECALL ALL TRUCKS FROM 2005 WAS RECALLED BUT MINE AND MY TRUCK HAS ALL THE SAME TRUBBLES AND I'M PAYING TO FIX I TOOK MY TRUCK IN TO B INSPECTED THEY TOLD ME TO DRIVE FOR 200 MLS BECAUSE CHECK ENG LIGHT WAS ON AS I WAS BRING IT BACK MY ENGEN DIYED I TOED IT HOME 100MLS ON MY ENG THEY SAID NOT MY PROBLEM 6000 TO FIX HELP.

BROUGHT MY VEHICLE IN FOR A TUNE UP AND RECALLS, THEY DID A 23 POINT CHECK AND ADVISED ME TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE 200 MILES AND RETURN, STARTED THE ENGINE AFTER A COUPLE OF DAYS AND OIL AND ANTIFREEZE EXPLODED ALL OVER THE ENGINE, WAS ADVISED TO REFILL AND DRIVE TO RI SURETSKY, THE ENGINE CUT OFF ON THE HWY, THEY XAME AND TOWED ME SAYING MY ENGINE WAS BLOWN, WOULDNT THEY SEE THIS AFTER SPENDING 2500.00 ON REPAIRS, MY TRUCH WAS IN GOOD SHAPE PRYOR, THANKYOU.
THE MOTOR SHUTS OFF WHILE TRAVELING AT FULL SPEED
MY 2005 DODGE RAM HAS BEEN STALLING WHILE IDILING AT STOP LIGHTS/SIGNS. IT WAS THROWING A CODE OF P0115. I HAVE NOW REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY, EGR VALVE, THERMOSTAT, ECT SENSOR, AND CAM SENSOR . THE TRUCK IS AT THE DODGE DEALERS FOR NOW 9 DAYS. THE SERVICE TECH ARE PULLING OUT THEIR HAIR TRYING TO FIND THE ISSUE. I SEE THAT OTHER DODGE TRUCKS AND CARS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. SO WHY IS THERE NOT A RECALL ON THIS ITEM? THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN. ESPECIALLY WHEN THE TRUCK DIES WHILE TURNING I COULD GET HIT. I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THIS ON MY OWN FOR THE PAST THREE MONTHS. NOW THE SERVICE TECHS ARE AT THEIR WITS END TOO.
AN ELECTRICAL FIRE STARTED UNDER HOOD OF VEHICLE. NO SIGNS OF ANYTHING BEING WRONG BEFORE THE FIRE AND VEHICLE HAD BEEN PARKED AND SITTING IN DRIVEWAY FOR AT LEAST 24 HOURS BEFORE FIRE WAS SEEN AND REPORTED TO POLICE AND FIRE DEPT. NOBODY WAS HOME WHEN THIS HAPPENED.

MY 05 DODGE RAM HAS BEEN STALLING IN TRAFFIC AT LOW SPEEDS REGULARLY OF LATE. IT ALSO HAPPENED RECENTLY WHILE PARKED FOR THE FIRST TIME. IT OCASIONALLY (1 FAILURE OUT OF 7) GIVES AN ERROR CODE AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WHICH READS AS A BAD CRANK SHAFT POSITION SENSOR. I HAVE PUT 3 ON IN THE LAST 2 YEARS. IT STARTED AS INTERMITENT AND HAS BECOME A STEADY ISSUE. TRUCK HAS NEVER RUN HOT, NO NOISES FROM ENGINE TO INDICATE A BAD BEARING OR MIS ALIGNEMENT. WHEEL TEETH ARE NOT BROKEN OR WORN AND THERE IS NOT BUILDUP OF FLAKES OR SHAVINGS ANYWHERE THAT WOULD BE CAUSING A FUALTY SIGNAL. WIRING RINGS OUT AS GOOD. REPLACING THE SENSOR WAS ALLOWING NORMAL OPERATION FOR A SHORT PERIOD BUT IT IS RE-OCCURING AT A FASTER RATE EACH TIME. TRUCK DOES, SO FAR, CONTINUE TO RESART ALMOST IMEDIATELY BUT STILL PRESENTS CONSIDERABLE RISK...

THIS WAS MY FATHERS TRUCK. I WAS OUT OF THE COUNTRY WHEN HE PURCHASED IT. UPON HIS DEATH, I BEGAN DRIVING THE TRUCK. IT WAS STILL BRAND NEW, BY APPROXIMATELY 7 MONTHS. IN ONE INSTANCE I WAS DRIVING IN SATICOY, SOUTH ON THE 118 BEFORE GOING OVER THE BRIDGE. AS I GOT A YELLOW LIGHT, I SLOWED DOWN AND THE TRUCK EVENTUALLY STALLED AND HAD NO ABILITY TO STEER. I WAS IN THE TRUCK, WITH MY MOTHER, AT AN INTERSECTION AND HAD TO IMMEDIATELY RESTART THE VEHICLE BECAUSE OUR LIVES WERE IN DANGER DUE TO TRAFFIC. UPON RESTARTING THE VEHICLE, I RESUMED TO MY DESTINATION. ON ANOTHER OCCASION I ARRIVED TO WHO IS NOW MY SISTER IN LAWS HOUSE, LOCATED IN SIMON WAY. IN THAT EVENING IT WAS MY TURN TO DRIVE TO OXNARD COLLEGE. AS I PULLED OUT OF HER DRIVEWAY, THE TRUCK AGAIN STALLED. I HAD TO RESTART...

WHETHER IT'S IDLING IN A TRAFFIC JAM, COMING TO A STOP, OR IDLING AROUND THE CORNER, YOU WILL SUDDENLY HAVE NO POWER BUT EVERYTHING ELSE IS ON. NOT THE ENGINE AND IT WAS SO SMOOTH THAT YOU DON'T NOTICE UNTIL YOU CAN'T BRAKE OR STEER. THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE WITH THIS YEAR MAKE AND MODEL THAT ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. I UNDERSTAND THERE WAS AN INVESTIGATION BUT IT WAS CLOSED WITHOUT RESOLUTION. CASE NUMBER EA05018. THIS IS A GROWING PROBLEM AND WE THE PEOPLE ARE SPENDING HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS TO REPLACE PARTS THAT ARE JUST PART OF A TROUBLE SHOOTING ISSUE AND MOST OF US STILL HAVE THE PROBLEM. IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION'WHILE AN EMERGENCY VEHICLE WAS APPROACHING, IT DIED AND I SLOWLY DRIFTED OVER TO AN ADJACENT CURVE.. THE MOST RECENT WAS ON 11/06/15, BUT IT HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 5 TIMES OVER THE PAST 5 MONTHS. ALL LIGHTS AND THE RADIO REMAIN ON AND IT STARTS RIGHT BACK UP, HOWEVER MY STEERING AND BRAKES LOCK UP WHICH IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN. WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL IS TURNED MY RPMS DROP DRAMATICALLY AND IT SOUNDS LIKE THE TRUCK WANTS TO STALL. STARTED SURGING AND STALLING SO IN IT WENT IN AGAIN, THIS TIME THEY REPLACED THE IAC MODULE ...AND THEN THEY THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE THE FUEL PUMP'SO THEY TESTED THE FUEL...
I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK IN 2014 FROM THE FAMILY OF THE ORIGINAL OWNER WHO WAS DECEASED. IT NOW HAS ABOUT 116,000 MILES. THE ENGINE STALLS UNEXPECTEDLY AND RANDOMLY AT SLOW SPEEDS, OFTEN WHILE TURNING ON CURVES OR AT INTERSECTIONS, BUT NOT ALWAYS. I HAVE MADE ALL REPAIRS RECOMMENDED BY DODGE AND OTHER MECHANICS, BUT IT STILL STALLS. THE DODGE PEOPLE SAY THEY HAVE NEVER SEEN OR HEARD OF THIS PROBLEM, BUT THE INTERNET IS FULL OF ACCOUNTS OF VERY SIMILAR SITUATIONS.
BLEW A ROD AND REAR AXLE BROKE
THE ENGINE STALL WHICH APPEARS YOU HAVE INVESTIGATED IS CONCERNING FOR ME. MULTIPLE TIMES I HAVE BEEN MAKE A R TURN AND HAD THE ENGINE "DIE" IN DECELERATION THROUGH THE TURN RESULTING IN THE TRUCK LOSING POWER STEERING AND ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS OF THE TRUCK. THE RECENT INCIDENT ALMOST RESULTED IN ME STRIKING A MOTORCYCLE WAITING IN THE L HAND TURN LANE FOR THE TRAFFIC SIGNAL. THE ENGINE HAS STALLED IN SEVERAL OTHER TURN SITUATIONS CAUSING ME TO BE RESTARTING AT STAND STILL IN TRAFFIC. I FEEL THIS HAS PROVEN TO BE A SAFETY CONCERN AND NOT JUST A INCONVENIENCE.

PURCHASED THE TRUCK NEW IN 2005. WIFE WAS DRIVING TO STORE WHEN ENGINE SHUT OFF. SHE TURN AROUND AND DROVE 1.5 MILE BACK TO HOUSE AND PARKED TRUCK. TRUCK HAD PLENTY OIL, BUT WAS LEAKING OIL FROM PASSENGER SIDE VALVE COVER HAD A SMALL HOLE. PULLED COVERS, BOTH HEADS AND FOUND HEAD CAST HAD BROKE OFF ON PASSENGER SIDE. THIS CAUSED HOLE IN VALVE COVER. BOTTOM OF BOTH HEAD CASTING HAD DAMAGE TO VALVE SEAL WHICH SHOULD BE PRESSED INTO PLACE. THREE OF THE SEAL POP OUT ABOUT 1/4 INCH. AND ONE OF THE SEAL ON DRIVER SIDE HEAD CASTING CRACKED CYLINDER HEAD. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN. I NEVER SEEN THIS TYPE OF DAMAGE TO HEADERS. I THINK THE CASTING IF FLAWED. BEFORE TAKING THE VALVE COVERS OF, I THOUGHT IF I GET ANOTHER VALVE COVER MIGHT BE OK. SO I SEARCHED FOR A VALVE COVER. I CALLED TWO DODGE...
CUSTOMER STATES THAT VEHICLE STALLS AT LOW SPEEDS, INCLUDING STOP LIGHTS AND WHILE DRIVING IN SLOW TRAFFIC, STALL INCIDENT HAVE OCCASIONALLY OCCURRED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS CUASING LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES. EVEN WHEN NO CODES ARE THROWN VEHICLE HAS A OBVIOUS MISFIRE, CODES ARE NOT CONSTANTLY THROWN BUT WHEN THEY DO THEY ARE ONLY THROWN DURING TRAVEL UP HILLS AT RPMS OVER 3500, THE CODES THROWN ARE P0306, P0308 WITH NO APPARENT CUASE. APPROXIMATELY 6-8 MONTHS AGO THE CODE P0308 WAS THROWN AND THE ROCKER ARM ON CYLINDER 8 WAS DETERMINED TO BE THE CUASE, IT WAS REPLACED. CODE STOPPED BEING THROWN UNTIL 9/4/15. THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN USED AS A DAILY DRIVER AND HAS NOT BEEN DRIVEN IN EXCESS OF NORMAL WORK AND BACK DRIVING. OWNER HAS CONTACTED A DODGE DEALERSHIP WHO HAVE 1. NOT FOUND A CORRECTIVE ISSUES, 2. NOT BEEN ABLE TO RECREATE THE ISSUE....
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 DODGE RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING, THE OIL GAUGE PRESSURE DECREASED AS THE OIL PRESSURE GAUGE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE OIL PRESSURE GAUGE FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 137,000.
THERE HAD NEVER BEEN ANY PREVIOUS ISSUES WITH MY DODGE 1500 ENGINE (2005). ON JULY 21, 2014, WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM WORK ON THE HIGHWAY, MY TEMP CAGE STARTED MOVING TOWARD HOT. I GOT HOME, TURNED OFF THE CAR AND POPPED THE HOOD. THE COOLANT WAS COMPLETELY OUT! WENT TO PEP BOYS, FILLED IT UP AND TRIED TO START MY ENGINE, WOULD NOT START. AFTER GETTING IT TOWED TO THREE DIFFERENT LOCATIONS THE DIAGNOSIS WAS 4 CYLINDERS DROPPING AND NEEDING AN ENTIRE ENGINE REPLACEMENT. THERE WAS NO "KNOWN" REASON WHY THIS HAPPENED AS ALL THE MECHANICAL PARTS WERE WORKING PROPERLY (INITIALLY THE FAN WAS TO BLAME -- BUT TURNED OUT IT WAS WORKING COMPLETELY NORMAL). $6,000 LATER (NEW ENGINE AND LABOR) I AM STILL WONDERING WHY THIS HAPPENED WITH NO ANSWERS. INSURANCE WON'T HELP, NO MECHANIC CAN EXPLAIN THIS TO ME. PLEASE HELP!

HOLE IN RIGHT SIDE VALVE COVER. CALLED WITHNELL DODGE IN SALEM AND MARK THOMAS MOTORS IN ALBANY OREGON. BOTH DEALERSHIPS HAVE OVER 60 BACK ORDERS FOR THIS PARTICULAR VALVE COVER. THAT'S OVER 120 BACK ORDERS. IF I CALLED OTHER DEALERSHIPS I SUSPECT THEY WILL HAVE BACK ORDERS FOR THE SAME PRODUCT. TO ME THIS MEANS THEIR IS A PROBLEM WITH DODGE PICKUPS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH VALVE COVERS, WHICH ARE PLASTIC. I SUSPECT THE VALUE COVER BLEW A HOLE AND THIS CAUSED THE ENGINE TO OVERHEAT. I AM NOT SURE IF I HAVE ANY OTHER PROBLEMS AS A RESULT OF VALVE COVER BLOWING OUT. I WILL NOT KNOW UNTIL I REPLACE THE VALVE COVER. I ALSO THINK A RECALL SHOULD OCCUR AS A RESULT OF THESE NUMBERS. HAD IT LOOKED AT. THE REPAIR SHOP DIAGNOSED IT TO BE THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL PINION NUT BACKING OFF. REPAIR SHOP SAID THE TRUCK NEEDS THE DIFFERENTIAL REPAIRED OR REPLACED. A SHORT TIME LATER, I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE AROUND FEBRUARY ON THE TRUCK FOR P77 & P81. HAVE CONTACTED DEALER...
TRUCK KEEPS STALLING IN DRIVE AND REVERSE. THE TRUCK WILL ONLY RUN GOOD IF ITS IN NEUTRAL. THE RPMS JUST DROP SUDDENLY, BUT THE TRUCK IS ABLE TO START RIGHT BACK UP WITH NO PROBLEM. SINCE I FIRST BOUGHT THIS TRUCK IN 2005 ITS HAD A PRETTY SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH STALLING OUT WHEN COMING TO A STOP, AND EVEN WORSE, SOMETIMES MID TURN WHILE MOVING. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS ISSUE SINCE LOSS OF CONTROL IS EMINENT IN THIS TYPE OF INCIDENT. ALONG WITH THIS STALLING OUT, THE TRUCK HAS A ROUGH IDLE/SURGING IDLE ISSUE WHEN AT A STOP. AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH MY DRIVELINE DISLODGED FROM MY REAR DIFFERENTIAL AND LOCKED UP THE WHEELS (DIFFERENTIAL.). THE ROAD WAS A POPULAR WELL MAINTAINED PAVED ROAD. FORTUNATELY NO CARS OR PEDESTRIANS WERE CLOSE BY AND SPEED WAS RELATIVELY LOW, OTHERWISE THIS COULD HAVE ENDED WITH SERIOUS INJURY OR FATALITY. OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS, I HAVE EXPERIENCED PROBLEMS WITH MY 2005 DODGE RAM TRUCK. OCCASIONALLY WHEN SLOWING DOWN TO A STOP LIGHT OR MAKING A LEFT TURN FROM A STOP, THE ENGINE WILL CUT OFF. I IMMEDIATELY TURN THE IGNITION OFF AND THEN BACK ON, AND THE TRUCKS WORKS PERFECTLY AFTER THAT. I FIRST ATTRIBUTED IT TO A STALL OR BAD GAS, BUT NOW BELIEVE IT IS AN IGNITION SWITCH PROBLEM.
