My car didn’t want to start after seeing a check engine light saying cylinder 2 misfire then 4 had fuel pump replaced still had check engine light and was misfiring afterwards a week or two the truck stalled while driving off freeway in middle of traffic breakers did not work, car frozen almost wrecked. I had it towed back to garage and they replace fuel pump again but car won’t stay on it will turn on then shut off by itself not showing any codes mechanics can’t find issue over 2 weeks at garage already!!
Four total incidents of the vehicle engine shutting off while driving the car. Most recent today 12-17-21 was placed in extremely dangerous situation and was almost rear ended 5 times by other vehicles traveling at speeds greater than 55 mph. 1st instance occurred back in 2007 traveling West bound on I635 in Dallas (speed of 65mph) engine shut off, loss of power steering coasted to side of road. 2nd incident Fall 2007 - from complete stop to turn left and cross divided highway, the engine shut down right in the middle of the intersection and was nearly broadsided by oncoming car traveling at 45 mph. 3rd incident happened while driving in my neighborhood, engine shut down and loss of power to steering. Daimler Chrysler issued a recall to reprogram the TPIM module back in 2008 to address the problem. Nothing since then until today. I am the original Owner of...
1. Engine light on reads gas cap . We replaced gas cap numbers times and engine light doesn’t go away. 2. Wipers not working . Water cleaning spray for windows not working front or back windows. 3. I have replaced my windows panel numerous times. The window panels keep braking and my windows stay down. Extremely annoying.
Significant amount of fuel spills from tank, down the side of vehicle and onto the ground during refueling. Unavoidable unless stopped at least a gallon prior to filling tank. This requires guessing the amount of fuel the tank can hold based off miles driven and/or fuel gauge readings. With practice I have been able to minimize the fuel spillage on my part but it still happens. I am in violation of state laws regarding refueling and pollution each time there is an incident. Further more, I have had a major safety issue resulting from loaning the vehicle to another driver. Post fill up resulting in said spillage; it was reported to me that a cigarette was tossed from a vehicle immediately after pulling from the pump, hitting the rear quarter panel covered in gasoline. Fortunately it just missed the fresh spill.

WHEN GETTING FUEL, THE VAPORS IN THE TANK WILL NOT ALLOW THE TANK TO FILL UP WITHOUT HAVING TO HAVE THE GAS NOZZLE UPSIDE DOWN. WHEN THE TANK IS FULL, THE NOZZLE DOES NOT STOP AND GAS SPEWS FROM THE TANK. AFTER DRIVING AWAY ONCE THE TANK IS FULL THE CAR STARTS TO BUCK AND SHAKE

WHEN I FILL UP THE GAS TANK AFTER THE PUMP SHUTS OFF, THE VEHICLE SHOOTS GASOLINE BACK OUT AT ME, ABOUT A HALF GALLON ITS GETS ON THE CAR AND ONTO THE GROUND, THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME I FILL UP. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS!!!
SPEWS FUEL WHEN FUELING .USED 1/4TH OF A TANK AND WAS AT STOP LIGHT AND GAS CAP BLEW OFF AND GAS SPEWED OUTSIDE AND SMELLED LIKE RAW FUEL INSIDE FOR 2 DAYS.
EVERY TIME I PUMPED GAS INTO MY TRUCK, I GET A FUEL SHOWER FROM THE FUEL SHOOTING BACK OUT. IT HAS A DANGEROUS PROJECTILE AND IS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO STOP. MY AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON A WEEK AGO AND WONT GO OFF. VERY NERVE WRACKING. IF I FILL GAS TANK GAS COMES BACK OUT OF TANK ALL OVER ME AND TRUCK. WHEN I FILL THE FUEL TANK THE FUEL SPILLS OUT ON ME, ON THE CAR AND THE GROUND, THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME I TRY AND FILL THE GAS TANK. I WAS ON DODGE FORUM AND TOLD THIS HAPPENS TO ALL 2007 AND 2008 DODGE NITROS AND THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. I WAS TOLD THIS IS A VENT VALVE/CHECK VALVE DEFAULT AND THIS VALVE IS SUPPOSED TO SHUT DOWN THE GAS TO PREVENT AN EXPLOSION IN AN ACCIDENT. DODGE HAD A RECALL FOR THEIR JEEP BUT NEVER ISSUED A RECALL FOR THE NITRO!! DODGE SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPLACING THE FUEL TANK WITH NO COST TO ME.

MY TRUCK IS HAVE TROUBLE WITH TIMPS SYSTEM AND IT'S A 2007 AND I SEEN IT WAS A RECALL
DURING REFUELING MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN "BURPING" GAS BACK WHEN NEAR FULL. AT FIRST THIS WAS OCCURRING WHEN USING THE AUTOMATIC SHUTOFF ON GAS PUMP HANDLES, BUT IT CONTINUED TO DO SO EVEN WHEN MANUALLY OPERATING GAS PUMP HANDLES. AFTER SEARCHING THROUGH FORUMS WITH THIS ISSUE, IT APPEARS IT'S A KNOWN FAULT WITH THE ROLL-OVER VALVE WHICH DODGE IS CORRECTING AT THE OWNERS EXPENSE. HAVING A KNOWN SAFETY DEFECT THAT CAUSES FUEL TO SPILL IN QUANTITY (ESTIMATING A PINT OR MORE) WHEN REFUELING AND THE DISTINCT PROBABLY THAT FUEL WOULD SPILL IN THE EVENT OF A ROLL-OVER IS NOT SOMETHING THAT CUSTOMERS SHOULD BE FORCED INTO PAYING FOR.

MY 07 DODGE NITRO RT HAS ALWAYS HAD AN ISSUE WHILE FILLING UP, IT DOESN'T STOP LIKE OTHER VEHICLES AND JUST OVER FLOWS SPLASHING GAS ALL OVER THE VEHICLE AND FLOOR. MY FIX FOR THIS WAS JUST TO NOT FULLY FILL THE TANK. THE OTHER ISSUE I'VE HAD FOR THE BETTER PART OF A YEAR IS THAT I'VE HAD A "GAS CAP" ERROR LIGHT THAT AFTER REPLACING SAID GAS CAP AND A TRIP TO PEPBOYS TURNED OUT IT WAS A SMALL EVAP LEAK CAUSED BY A FAULTY GAS TANK/INNARDS COMMON IN OLDER NITROS, IN MY EXPERIENCE THIS ALSO CAUSES A HARD START. I THINK THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A MANUFACTURING ISSUE IN THE GAS TANK AND WOULD LIKE SOME GUIDENCE ON A RESOLVE. THANK YOU
TRUCK HESITATING TO START ON & OFF - CONSULTED WITH CHRYSLER JEEP MECHANIC WHO I SHOWED HIM A VIDEO OF WHAT I CAPTURED WHEN MY TRUCK WOULDN'T START RIGHT AWAY, ADVISED ME THAT IT DIDN'T SOUND OR LOOK LIKE THE IGNITION, THAT IT POSSIBLY WAS THE "EXTERNAL FUEL PUMP RELAY AND HARNESS". UPON FURTHER RESEARCH THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEMS WITH 2007 DODGE NITROS AND NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED. HOWEVER, THE JEEP LIBERTY WHICH IS THE SIBLING VEHICLE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AND THERE WAS A RECALL TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM IS A FAULTY ROLLOVER VALVE AND REQUIRES THE FUEL TANK TO BE REPLACED. *TR
WHILE FILLING THE NITRO UP WHEN IT GETS FULL AND THE GAS PUMP KICKS OFF THERE IS ALOT OF FUEL THAT COMES RUSHING OUT OF THE FILLER HOSE AND GOES ALL OVER THE TRUCK, GROUND AND MYSELF. I HAD THIS ISSUE PREVIOUSLY, TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND INDICATED THAT IT IS MOST LIKELY CAUSED BY A VALVE IN THE GAS TANK THAT IS THERE TO PREVENT AN EXPLOSION IN THE EVENT OF A ROLL OVER ACCIDENT. THE VALVE IS DEFECTIVE AND THUS GAS SPILLS OUT. THEY REPLACED THE FUEL TANK AND IT FIXED THE PROBLEM. LESS THAN ONE YEAR LATER THE SAME PROBLEM COMES BACK, BUT THEY WILL NO LONGER TAKE CAR OF IT BECAUSE NOW IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY. *TR

I BOUGHT MY 2007 NITRO IN OCTOBER WITH ABOUT 68,000 MILES. EVER SINCE THE FIRST TIME I FILLED UP MY TANK GAS SPITS BACK UP OUT THE FUEL HOSE WHEN THE PUMP SHUTS OFF. AFTER RESEARCHING QUITE A BIT I DISCOVERED THIS ISN'T A NEW PROBLEM, CHRYSLER KNOWS ALL ABOUT IT AND EVEN HAD AN INVESTIGATION INTO IT. THE INLET VALVE IS FAULTY AND DOESN'T CLOSE CORRECTLY, LEADING TO GAS SPILLS AT THE PUMP AND GAS SPILLS IF THE VEHICLE ROLLS OVER, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO IGNITE. I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH CHRYSLER THE PAST WEEK OR SO AND THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY REFUSING TO HELP REPAIR THEIR OWN MANUFACTURES DEFECT. THEY WON'T GIVE ME AN EXPLANATION NO MATTER HOW MUCH I ASK AND I AM GETTING VERY FRUSTRATED WITH THEM. I FEEL THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR TAKING CARE OF IT.
