Defect: ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES, THE FLOOR SHIFTER IGNITION-PARK INTERLOCK MAY FAIL AND ALLOW THE SHIFTER TO BE MOVED OUT OF THE PARK POSITION WITH THE KEY REMOVED. AN INOPERATIVE INTERLOCK MAY ALSO ALLOW THE KEY TO BE REMOVED WHEN THE SHIFTER HAS NOT BEEN PLACED IN THE PARK POSITION.
Consequence: EITHER CIRCUMSTANCE MAY RESULT IN THE VEHICLE ROLLING AWAY WITHOUT WARNING.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL A NEW LOAD-LIMITING PUSH ROD INTO THE FLOOR SHIFTER LEVER OF THE AFFECTED VEHICLES. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN ON JUNE 14, 2004. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT DAIMLERCHRYSLER AT 1-800-853-1403.

Defect: VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES. THE LOWER CONTROL ARM ATTACHING BRACKETS CAN CRACK DUE TO FATIGUE AND SEPARATE FROM THE ENGINE CRADLE.
Consequence: IF THIS OCCURS, THE TRANSMISSION HALF-SHAFT COULD PULL OUT OF THE TRANSAXLE AND RESULT IN LOSS OF POWER.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL REINFORCE THE ENGINE CRADLE AT THE POINT WHERE THE LOWER CONTROL ARM ATTACHES TO IT.

Defect: VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES BUILT WITH 3.5L ENGINES. THE FUEL INJECTION DELIVERY SYSTEM CAN LEAK FUEL FROM SOME OF THE SEALING O-RINGS OR FROM HAIR LINE CRACKS IN THE THERMOSET FUEL INJECTION RAIL.
Consequence: FUEL LEAKAGE IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE CAN RESULT IN A FIRE.

Defect: THE RIGHT STEERING TIE ROD CAN RUB THROUGH THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WIRING HARNESS CAUSING A SHORT CIRCUIT WHICH RESULTS IN ELECTRICAL SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONS INCLUDING ENGINE STALLING AND AN INOPERATIVE PARK/STARTER INTERLOCK SYSTEM.
Consequence: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM MALFUNCTION CAUSING STALLING WHILE IN MOTION OR AN INOPERATIVE PARK/STARTER INTERLOCK SYSTEM, WHICH ALLOWS ENGINE START WHILE THE TRANSMISSION IS NOT IN THE PARK POSITION, MAY RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT.
Remedy: INSTALL A REVISED WIRING HARNESS BRACKET AND A PLASTIC CONVOLUTED SLEEVE TO PROTECT THE TRANSMISSION WIRING HARNESS.

I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND I STARTED SMELLING GAS. THE FUEL RAIL ON TOP OF THE ENGINE STARTED LEAKING BY THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT INJECTOR. THERE WAS A RECALL ISSUED FOR THIS VEHICLE FOR THE SAME ISSUE THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO CORRECT IT AND THE RECALL WORK WAS DONE ACCORDING TO THE MANUFACTURER. YEARS LATER IT STARTED LEAKING AGAIN. APPARENTLY THE RECALL KIT DOES NOT FIX THE ISSUE, EVENTUALLY THE FUEL RAIL ON TOP OF THE ENGINE WILL EVENTUALLY START LEAKING AGAIN WHICH MAY RESULT IN AN ENGINE FIRE IF NOT FIXED. I HAD TO TAKE THE CAR TO A SHOP AND AM STILL WAITING FOR A REPAIR KIT FROM CHRYSLER.

THE CONTACT EXAMINED THE VEHICLE HIMSELF AND NOTICED THAT THE FUEL LINES WERE LEAKING. THE CONTACT PATCHED THE LEAK HIMSELF ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO HAVE THE FAILURE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000. UPDATED 01/25/12 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE FUEL LEAK WAS LOCATED ON BOTH SIDES OF THE CROSSOVER TUBE FOR THE FUEL RAILS. HE FIRST NOTICED THE ODOR OF FUEL ON NOVEMBER 13, 2088. BUT COULD NOT LOCATE THE SOURCE. IT WAS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM AND WAS FINALLY OBVIOUS WHEN IT STARTED TO SPRAY LATER IN 2099. THE CONSUMER CONTACTED THE LOCAL DODGE DEALER, BUT THEY STATED THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER COVERED THE TUBING INTERFACE WITH JB WELD BLACK/RED AND WAS ABLE TO STOP THE LEAK. HOWEVER, THE FITTING LEAKED AGAIN WHEN THE SEASONS CHANGED. THE CONSUMER CONTACTED THE DEALER AGAIN, AND WAS INFORMED A NEW FUEL RAIL WOULD COST $480. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT ABLE TO BE DRIVEN UNTIL THE BUSHINGS WERE REPAIRED BECAUSE THE LOSS OF CONTROL WAS SO BAD ON THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE OF THE BUSHINGS CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO HAVE TO BE REPAIRED. WE ALMOST LOSS COMPLETE CONTROL OVER THE VEHICLE TWICE BEFORE WE FOUND OUT WHAT WAS CAUSING THE EXTREME PULL IN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MECHANIC AND THEY REPLACED THE RACK AND PINION BUSHINGS AND THE TIRE ROD BUSHINGS AND TIGHTENED THE TIRE ROD BOLTS. THIS WAS A VERY SCARY SITUATION FOR US AND WE WERE CONCERNED FOR OUR SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF OUR CHILD. THIS WAS ALSO A VERY EXPENSIVE REPAIR TO THE VEHICLE. *TR
