The drivers side sliding door won’t open. We have tried locking and unlocking the door, but the lock won’t move. We have tried opening using the indoor and outdoor handles, driver and passenger buttons, and key fob. We have tried changing out the fuse. When getting a repair for another issue, the mechanics were unable to open the door as well. This poses a safety issue because in case of an accident that renders the other sliding door unusable, passengers would not be able to exit the vehicle.
Passenger sliding rear door latch would not unlatch by any means of normal operation. Lock tab inside would not move to unlock position and key fob also would not unlock door. I took the inside panel off and readjusted the locking rod mechanism. That was the only way to get it to work again. This happened several times in both lock and unlock positions. Currently it is stuck in the unlock position and i will leave it that way for purpose of safety due to if it gets stuck in lock position and i were to be in an accident i would not be able to get my grand kids out by normal operation.
The sliding door is sealed shut..It will not open by the fob or manually effectively trapping passengers including my disabled son in the vehicle. UNSAFE AND SHOULD BE RECALLED
THE DRIVER'S SIDE POWER-SLIDING REAR DOOR WILL NOT OPERATE USING THE KEY FOB, THE CENTER BUTTON IN THE FRONT SEAT, OR BY MANUALLY PULLING THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE HANDLE. IT APPEARS AS THOUGH THE LOCK MECHANISM IS STUCK IN THE LOCKED POSITION.
REAR SLIDING DOOR SUDDENLY BECAME STUCK IN THE LOCKED POSITION AND I AM UNABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR IN ANY WAY. THIS IS CAUSING MY CHILDREN TO HAVE TO EXIT THE VAN ON THE TRAFFIC SIDE OF THE CAR. THIS WOULD ALSO LEAVE MY CHILD TRAPPED IN THE CAR SHOULD AN EMERGENCY ARISE OR AN ACCIDENT OCCUR ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE VAN.
MY DRIVERS SIDE PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT OPEN OR UNLOCK. AFTER SOME RESEARCH IT SEEMS ITS THE ACTUATOR. WHICH IS COSTLY TO REPAIR AND A SAFETY HAZARD. I READ LOTS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE DOOR BEING STUCK AND ALL OF A SUDDEN COMING OPEN WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD ESPECIALLY WITH KIDS IN THE CAR. OR WHAT IF THERES AN ACCIDENT AND WE CANT GET THE DOOR OPENED TO GET EVERYONE OUT SAFETLY.
DRIVER SIDE MOTORIZED SLIDING DOOR STUCK CLOSED AND WILL NOT UNLOCK TO OPEN. CANNOT MANUALLY UNLOCK DOOR AS THE MECHANISM WILL NOT MOVE. UNLOCKING BY KEY FOB OR BUTTON WILL NOT WORK EITHER. ISSUE FOUND AFTER PARKING VEHICLE UPON ARRIVAL HOME. THE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN AND I HAD TO ROLL DOWN THE WINDOW TO GET MY INFANT OUT OF THE CAR SEAT LOCATED BY THE STUCK DOOR. I HAVE FOUR CHILDREN IN THE BACK WHO ARE NOW LIMITED TO ENTERING AND EXITING THROUGH A SINGLE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR. IF THERE WAS AN ACCIDENT OR EMERGENCY THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO EXIT THE VEHICLE THROUGH THE DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE WITH MY CHILDREN BEING THE MOST AT RISK DUE TO A FAILURE OF THE SLIDING DOOR LOCKING ACTUATOR. THE DRIVER'S SIDE SLIDING DOOR IS STUCK IN A LOCKED POSITION. IT WILL NOT UNLOCK WITH THE FOB OR MANUALLY. I HAVE BEEN LIVING WITH THIS HAZARDOUS SITUATION FOR THREE YEARS, ONE YEAR AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE AND THE VEHICLE WAS ONLY TWO YEARS OLD WHEN IT MALFUNCTIONED. I WENT TO A STORE, GETTING OUT OF THE VEHICLE THE DOOR WORKED, AND UPON RETURNING TO THE VEHICLE THE DOOR WOULDN'T BUDGE. AT THE TIME I CALLED MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP TO SEE HOW MUCH IT WOULD COST TO FIX AND THEY WOULDN'T QUOTE ME A PRICE SO I NEVER TOOK IT IN. UPON SOME QUICK RESEARCH ONLINE RECENTLY I REALIZED THIS ISN'T AN ISOLATED OCCURRENCE. APPARENTLY MANY DODGE CARAVAN OWNERS HAVE HAD, SPECIFICALLY THE LEFT DOOR, GET STUCK IN THE LOCKED POSITION PERMANENTLY. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE.
THE DRIVER'S SIDE PASSENGER SLIDING DOOR HAS BEEN IN THE LOCKED POSITION FOR SOME TIME NOW AND IT CANNOT BE OPENED MANUALLY OR ELECTRONICALLY. I CAME OUT OF THE STORE INTO THE PARKING LOT AND TRIED TO OPEN THE SIDE DOOR TO LOAD MY GROCERIES WITH NO SUCCESS. I HAVE BEEN DOING SOME RESEARCH AND APPARENTLY THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM IN THE CHRYSLER/DODGE MINIVANS. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD NOT TO MENTION A VERY EXPENSIVE PROBLEM TO FIX. I WOULD LIKE THIS ISSUE TO BE EXAMINED AND POSSIBLY RECALLED.
I DRIVE 10 MINUTES AND PARKED. I WENT TO UNLOCK REAR DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR. IT WAS STUCK. MY INFANT DAUGHTER IS THERE AND I COULD NOT MANUALLY OR ELECTRONICALLY GET THE DOOR TO OPEN. IT'S A SAFETY CONCERN.
OUR PASSENGER SLIDING DOOR, OF OUR 2016 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN, HAS BEEN MAKING A BUZZING NOISE WHEN WE HIT THE UNLOCK BUTTON. AFTER DOING SOME READING WE HAD CONCERNS THE DOOR WOULD SOON NOT FUNCTION. THEN, JUST A COUPLE WEEKS LATER, OUR DRIVER'S SIDE SLIDING DOOR WAS STUCK IN THE LOCK POSITION. IT CAN'T OPEN, MANUALLY OR AUTOMATICALLY. HUGE SAFETY CONCERN. I BROUGHT IT INTO THE SHOP AND THE DRIVER'S SIDE SLIDING DOOR WILL BE $1,000 TO FIX AND THE PASSENGER DOOR WILL BE SOON TO FOLLOW. IT SOUNDS LIKE THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM IN THESE GRAND CARAVANS. SOMETHING ISN'T RIGHT.
THE DRIVERS SIDE SLIDING DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK MANUALLY, I WAS TOLD IT IS A BAD ACTUATOR. THIS POSES A SAFETY RISK FOR PASSENGERS IN THE SECOND AND THIRD ROWS IF THEY MUST EXIT THE VEHICLE IN AN EMERGENCY. THIS IS A PREVALENT PROBLEM WITH IS YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL AND SHOULD BE A RECALL DUE TO THE SAFETY RISKS
MY HOOD FLEW OPEN WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, AND I CHECKED THE NHTSA SITE AND SEE THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE HOOD LATCHES, BUT APPARENTLY NOT FOR
DRIVER SIDE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR HAS FAULTED RESULTING LOUD BUZZ SOUND DUE TO THE ELECTRICAL MOTOR IN ACTUATOR TO NOT PROPERLY MOVE. FEARFUL OF A ELECTRICAL SHORT OCCURRING ESPECIALLY SINCE THIS WHERE MY 4YR OLD DAUGHTER HAS TO SIT. ALSO IF THE LOCK POSSIBLY GOES COMPLETELY OUT I'M FEARFUL OF 2 THINGS 1. AS MY DAUGHTER SIT BY THAT DOOR IT AT ANY MOMENT BECOMES NOT LOCKED ALLOWING HER TO OPEN WHILE VEHICLE IN OPERATION 2. THE DRIVER SIDE PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT OPEN AND IS "LOCKED". NO MANUAL OR FOB ATTEMPT WILL ALLOW ENTRY OR EXIT. IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT NO ONE WILL BE ABLE TO OPEN THIS DOOR. THIS IS REPORTED 100'S OF TIMES ON VARIOUS SITES AS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL.

OUR SLIDING DOOR HAS SEIZED UP IN THE LOCK POSITION. WE ARE UNABLE TO OPEN IT AT ALL. AFTER READING HUNDREDS OF OTHER COMPLAINTS IT SOUNDS LIKE THE SLIDING DOOR ACTUATOR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THIS IS ON ONE SIDE BUT NOW THE OTHER SIDE IS SOUNDING LIKE IT MAY GO AS WELL. HAVING DOORS WE CAN NOT OPEN IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE FIXED BEFORE WE ARE COMFORTABLE DRIVING WITH OUR CHILDREN AGAIN. THE VEHICLE IS A 2016 DODGE CARAVAN AND JUST BROKE 60K MILES. AVERAGE FIX IS OVER $1100 AND THE MECHANICS ARE ALL TO FAMILIAR WITH THE ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER'S SIDE DOOR FAILED TO OPERATE CORRECTLY. THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED WHEN THE SEAT BELT WAS ENGAGED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO RIO VISTA DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP INC (1006 STATE HIGHWAY 12, DIRECTIONS RIO VISTA, CA 94571-1442) WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED AND IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE OCS PASSENGER REAR DOOR MOTOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 78,500.
THE LOCKS ON BOTH SLIDING SIDE DOORS HAVE STOPPED WORKING. THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WILL NOT LOCK AND THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR HAS LOCKED AND WILL NOT UNLOCK. THE DRIVERS SIDE SLIDING DOOR IS UNUSABLE. THIS CONDITION IS UNSAFE AND IS DOCUMENTED BY MULTITUDES OF OTHER OWNERS. THESE LOCKS ARE NOT RELIABLE AND SHOULD BE RECALLED. THE COST IS APPROXIMATELY $1000 A DOOR AND IS NOT REASONABLE FOR AN OWNER TO ABSORB WHEN IT IS AN OBVIOUS DESIGN DEFICENCY.

BOTH THE LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE SLIDING DOORS OF OUR 2016 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN SXT WILL NOT OPEN BECAUSE OF DEFECTIVE SOLENOID VALVES INSIDE THE DOORS. WE ARE UNABLE TO OPEN THE SLIDING DOORS ELECTRONICALLY (PUSH BUTTONS OR KEY FOBS) OR MANUALLY, DUE TO THE FAILED DOOR ACTUATOR VALVES. AS A RESULT, THE SLIDING DOORS ARE COMPLETELY INOPERABLE AND STUCK IN THE CLOSED POSITION. OCCUPANTS COULD EASILY BE TRAPPED IN AN EMERGENCY SINCE THEY WOULD HAVE TO CLIMB INTO THE FRONT SEAT, OR CRAWL OUT THE REAR HATCH TO EXIT THE VEHICLE. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD. THE SLIDING DOORS STARTED MAKING A LOUD NOISE WHEN WE USED THE KEY FOB TO LOCK THE DOORS. AFTER A WEEK OR SO, THE LOUD NOISE STOPPED AND THE DOORS WOULD NO LONGER OPERATE. OUR VEHICLE IS PAST THE WARRANTY DATE AND THE DEALER STATES THE REPAIR IS IN EXCESS OF $2,300....
DRIVER SIDE BACK SLIDING DOOR WILL NOT OPEN. DOES NOT OPEN MANUALLY OR WITH THE KEY FOB.
I BOUGHT A 2016 DODGE CARAVAN NEW FROM THE DEALERSHIP AND HAVE HAD SEVERAL ISSUES WITH REAR SLIDING DOORS NOT OPENING. THEY REPLACED THE DOOR RELAY SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE. ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS 1 OR BOTH REAR SLIDING DOORS WITH LOCK AND WON'T RELEASE FROM THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE AFTER UNLOCKING WITH KEY FOB AND THEN TRIED MANUALLY UNLOCKING FROM INSIDE. THIS HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES IN THE WINTER AND AFTER ABOUT 5 MINUTES OF DRIVING THE DOOR WILL OPEN AS I'M DRIVING. I HAVE SMALL CHILDREN AND THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. THIS IS NOW HAPPENING IN THE SUMMER AS WELL MAKING ME THINK IT WASN'T DUE TO FROZEN DOORS. I'VE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY CAN'T FIND THE PROBLEM BECAUSE THE DOORS WILL EVENTUALLY RELEASE BEFORE I CAN GET TO DEALERSHIP AFTER WORK.

THE SLIDING DOOR STARTED MAKING BUZZING/GRINDING NOISE WHEN ACTIVATED. PAYED A DEALERSHIP $1000 TO REPAIR AND WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE PERSON THEY'D SEEN 3 OF THESE IN THE PAST WEEK. GOOGLE SEARCH SHOWS LOTS OF COMPLAINTS FOR THE SAME ISSUE.
OUT OF THE BLUE, WITH JUST OVER 60K MILES, THE DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR, WON'T OPEN WITH THE KEY FOB, NEITHER BY PULLING ON THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE HANDLE, NOR PUSHING THE INSIDE BUTTON (BY THE DOOR) OR PUSHING THE CONSOLE BUTTON. THE SLIDING DOOR ON THE DRIVER SIDE JUST QUIT OPENING ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO, LAST WEEK THE TRANSMISSION HAS WENT COMPLETELY OUT. I WAS GETTING READY TO LEAVE HOME AND WHEN I PUT THE VAN IN DRIVE IT PULLED OFF AND WHEN I GOT UP TO THE SPEED LIMIT AND THE RPM'S WAS GOING UP THE VAN WOULDN'T SHIFT. I SENT IT TO THE SHOP AND THEY JUST CALLED ME SAYING THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS COMPLETELY GONE AND I NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION OR A RE-BUILD. THIS VAN IS A 2016 WITH 78,000 MILES. I AM STILL PAYING ON THIS VEHICLE AND I AM HAVING ALL THESE PROBLEMS. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THERE IS ANY RECALLS OR COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS VEHICLE.

THE DRIVER'S SIDE SLIDING DOOR ON OUR 2016 DODGE CARAVAN CANNOT BE OPENED. IT STOPPED WORKING AFTER HAVING THE VEHICLE FOR LESS THAN TWO YEARS. BOTH REAR SLIDING DOOR LOCKS HAVE BECOME JAMMED/STUCK IN THE LOCKED POSITION. DOOR ARE STUCK CLOSED WITH NO WAY TO OPEN THEM FROM THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE OF THE VAN. THEN A FEW MONTHS LATER THE DRIVER'S SIDE SLIDING DOOR LOCK HAS JAMMED NOW TOO AND CAN NOT BE UNLOCKED OR OPENED. VEHICLE WAS NOT MOVING OR RUNNING WHEN PROBLEMS WERE DISCOVERED.

PASSENGER SIDE SLIDING DOOR WON'T LOCK WITH REMOTE, OR BY BUTTON ON DRIVER'S DOOR. IT WILL ONLY LOCK MANUALLY. WHEN THE CAR IS LOCKED BY REMOTE THEN, THE ALARM SOUNDS ANY TIME SOMEONE TRIES TO OPEN THE UNLOCKED SLIDING DOOR. *TR
DRIVER SIDE BACK SLIDING DOOR STUCK SHUT AND WILL NOT OPEN FROM HANDLE,REMOTE,OR FROM INSIDE ITS LIKE IT WON'T UNLOCK
MY 2016 DODGE CARAVAN FOR NO APPARENT REASON LOCKED THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR SLIDING DDOOR AND WILL NOT RELEASE. THIS COULD BE SERIOS SAFETY PROBLEM IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT
BOTH SLIDING DOORS LOCKING MECHANISM HAVE MALFUNCTIONED. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM ON THIS VEHICLE. EITHER THE DOOR IS STUCK IN LOCKED POSITION (DRIVER SIDE) OR IN UNLOCKED POSITION (PASSENGER SIDE). NEITHER THE POWER LOCKING/UNLOCKING FUNCTION CHANGES THIS, NOT MANUALLY SLIDING THE LOCK. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AS CHILDREN IN BACK OF VAN MAY BE UNABLE TO EXIT VEHICLE IN CASE OF ACCIDENT. I HAD TO PAY MECHANIC HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS TO FIX BOTH DOORS. *TR
THE DRIVER SIDE REAR SLIDING DOOR WILL NOT OPEN. IT APPEARS TO BE STUCK IN THE LOCKED POSITION AND ANY ATTEMPTS TO UNLOCK IT, EITHER WITH THE FOB, ALL DRIVER (DOOR & OVERHEAD) LOCK/OPEN BUTTONS, OR MANUALLY TRYING TO MOVE THE LOCK, FAIL TO RELEASE IT. THIS OCCURRED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, IN PARK, IN OUR DRIVEWAY, WHEN I PUSHED THE OVERHEAD "DOOR OPEN" BUTTON IN ORDER TO GET MY CHILDREN (2 WEEKS OLD AND 3 YEARS OLD) OUT OF THEIR CAR SEATS. THANKFULLY WE WERE NOT INVOLVED IN AN INCIDENT REQUIRING IMMEDIATE EVACUATION AT THE TIME THAT THIS OCCURRED. STILL, I HAD TO GO IN VIA THE PASSENGER SIDE SLIDING DOOR, UNINSTALL MY NEWBORN INFANT'S CAR SEAT, AND LEAVE HER ON THE GROUND IN ORDER TO ACCESS MY TODDLER'S SEAT AND GET HIM OUT. I'M HORRIFIED TO THINK WHAT A DANGEROUS SITUATION THIS COULD BECOME IN THE CASE...
DRIVERS SIDE SLIDING DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK OR OPEN REMOTELY OR MANUALLY.
THE AUTOMATIC REAR SLIDING DOORS QUIT WORKING AND ARE STUCK CLOSED. THEY CAN'T BE OPENED WITH THE REMOTE, MANUALLY FROM THE INSIDE OR WITH THE INSIDE BUTTONS ON THE B PILLAR POST OR BY THE DRIVER FROM THE OVERHEAD DRIVER'S CONSOLE. APPARENTLY THIS IS A COMMON AND VERY DANGEROUS SAFETY ISSUE FOR THESE VEHICLES. THIS SHOULD BE COVERED BY WARRANTY FROM DODGE BUT APPARENTLY IS NOT. THIS SHOULD BE A FACTOR RECALL DEALERSHIP FIX. *TR
