This has been ever since I got my van. Sometime when I drive my lights come on and it goes into limp mode. Most of the time. When I start my van my lights will turn on. I have to turn my car off . Then start again to get my van riding correctly. The other day I was making a U-turn and my engine stalled and I was almost hit by a truck.
A slow coolant leak is draining the coolant from the reservoir into the engine. This has happened twice now and no external leaks can be found. The first instance in June 2021 was on a trip from Goldsboro, NC to Antigo, WI. We made it to Chicago and noticed the engine temp climbing. We thought it was due to the trip and heat but had just stopped in Ohio the day prior. We took the vehicle to a local shop and they told us the coolant was nearly gone. The second time happened just [XXX] when I took my Pacifica in for an oil change. The shop stated my coolant was very low and they had to fill it up. They again found no visible external leak. I had noticed that it was low as well the day prior after getting home and knowing the shop is less than 2...
We bought our brand-new Chrysler van in 2019. On [XXX] the oil filter housing needed to be replaced due to cheap manufacturing parts. It cost us $918.78. In October of 2025, we were experiencing some shaking in our van. Upon investigation, it was diagnosed with a blown head gasket. The repair was estimated at $3000 - $4000. The mileage on our van was a little over 93,000 miles. We were meticulous with the maintenance of our van. This, according to Chrysler Pacifica owner online forums, is not uncommon. There is a general outrage at the obvious manufacturing error. Is there any class action lawsuit ongoing? Is there any recourse available? Chrysler should pay out due to their shoddy work. The vehicle jerked, stopped and would not start again. After a while it started, people were honking to move. This happened about 3 years ago. The vehicle jerks often and afraid it will leave us on the street. About 2 years ago, the auxiliary battery ran down the main battery. The car would not start. Had to buy both batteries. The lights come on, engine, traction and auxiliary battery light. This happens often on a weekly basis.
While driving light came on that car was hot. Immediately pulled over and had the van towed. Was told the head gasket was blown which damaged the engine. Engine now needs to be replaced. Cheapest estimate has been $9,000 at a dealership, van isn’t even paid off yet. My 5 children were in the car when this happened I was afraid the vehicle was going to stop in the middle of the rd. No other warnings or anything. Also when we first purchased van was idle and then go silent like it’s supposed to we have noticed it doesn’t even get quiet anymore. Very disappointed family of 7 with no way to have our van repaired.
There was a battery safety recall (72B) letter sent to me for potential fire danger. On the letter, in bold, "a vehicle fire can result in increased risk of occupant injury and/or injury to persons outside the vehicle as well as property damage" 3/25 - 3/29 - 72B Recall work at Autonation Dealership completed Since the recall repair, my “service engine” light will intermittently turn on/off. 5/30 - Mile High Hybrid Diagnostic Code - U0412 “Invalid data received from battery energy control module” 6/12 - 6/18 - at AutoNation Dealership. U0412 - only software upgrade completed 7/1 - 7/8 at AutoNation Dealership - p0D57. They suggested it's a charger issues and to only use Mopar charger 7/24- O'Malley Diagnostic Code - U0412 - have ONLY been using Mopar charger. (NOT a charger issue) Waiting to hear back from Chrysler on path forward. I want answers to get this hybrid battery...
While stopped at a red light my van alerted me that the start/Stop feature was not working, turned itself off and put the van in Park causing much confusion and my almost getting reended as I was unsure what to do.
Vehicle Incident Summary – 2019 Chrysler Pacifica [XXX] is the orginal owner Initial Incident – [XXX] At 50,779 miles, my 2022 Chrysler Pacifica lost all power while driving on Mound Road in Sterling Heights, MI. Officer Nathan Sears from the Sterling Heights Police Department assisted, and the vehicle had to be towed. The diagnosis at the time was complete battery failure—both batteries were replaced. Current Ongoing Issue – [XXX] At 86,000 miles, the vehicle once again became completely inoperable. It was towed to Jim Riehl’s Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Warren, MI. I was initially told the issue was the starter, and I paid $1,200 for the repair. However, the vehicle still does not start. I have now been told the issue may be a blown head gasket or engine failure. The dealership is requesting an additional $2,000–$3,000 just to disassemble the vehicle to determine the exact cause. If it...
As I'm driving down the road my MIL comes on and tells me to pull over the engine will shut off. My vehicle has had the recall completed. This happened to me on the interstate with my family in the van. This is our only vehicle for the family and need it everyday. Now my dealership is telling me that it isn't a recall issue and I might have to pay for the repairs. This light started coming on about a week ago, and doesn't always come on. But it started to happen more frequently.
The contact owns a 2019 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the transmission skipped gears. Additionally, the vehicle was experiencing erratic transmission shifts and unintended deceleration. The check engine warning light was illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that upon attempting to shift to drive(D), the gear shifter failed to respond and remained stuck in park(P). The contact researched the failure online and found information on how to override the gear shifter failure. The contact pressed the Push to Start button twice, without depressing the brake pedal, depressed the accelerator for ten seconds, and pressed the Push to Start button to turn off the vehicle. The contact stated that upon restarting the vehicle minutes later, the vehicle responded as needed and the gear shifter became operable. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring intermittently. The dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not...
The head gasket leaks, full engine replacement is recommended. No accidents, only 79k miles on the engine.
My vehicle suddenly lost power driving down the road at approximately 20MPH. I rolled to the side and the vehicle engaged the electronic parking brake. It's been at Chrysler dealership for over a week and is now a STARS case according to my service rep. .
I’m having trouble with my start stop. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes my motor goes into limp mode for no reason.
While driving down the road and slowing down the van put itself into park and shut off. Had to then restart the van.
The contact owns a 2019 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds on several occasions, there was a clicking noise emanating from the engine compartment and the vehicle began shaking. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, and the contact was informed that the control arm and bushings needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer who was unable to replicate the failure on one occasion; however, on another occasion, the vehicle was taken to the same dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the alternator needed to be replaced. The failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the same dealer where it was determined that the sway bar link needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately...
The transmission shifts/jerks hard and hesitates/struggles to accelerate at times. It has even shutdown numerous times while I was at a traffic light.
The 2019 Chrysler Pacifica limited with 3.6l Pentastar engine had a check engine light come around 90,000 miles. The vehicle would suddenly lose acceleration power without warning, especially while getting onto the freeway. It was found that there is a known issue with the 3.2 and 3.6l Pentastar engines where the camshafts begin throwing metal shavings into the cylinders. The issue first presented itself as a cylinder 6 misfire with error code P0306. After replacing the spark plugs, coils, and VVT solenoids, the problem continued until the metal shavings were discovered. The design flaw of the engine causing the camshaft to produce metal shavings into the cylinders that lead to the sudden loss of acceleration is a major safety concern.
Van has 55,000 miles on it. Not overheating but noticed coolant reservoir keeps needing to be topped off daily. Also, just received check engine light code for cylinder 5. Shop diagnosed as head gaskets and now need an engine replacement. Absolutely unacceptable for a vehicle with such low miles.
Head gasket failure at 68500 miles. It causes a misfire in the engine and could cause an accident from the car bucking once it consumes the engine coolant and also causes overheating and a lot of smoke to come out of the tailpipe making it less visible for others on the road to see, if behind a car like mine
The check engine light came on. The day it came on, when starting the vehicle, it started shaking while in idle and when initially driving. The same day I had the engine read and a cylinder 6 misfire came up on the report. When I began driving, the car was shaking and it felt like it could stop abruptly which could have caused an accident. Yes, it was inspected and it was diagnosed that the head gasket is blown. Yes, the check engine light came on. It should be noted that when my local mechanic diagnosed the problem, two other Chrysler Pacifica's and two other vehicles with the v6 engine have the same issue.
The contact owns a 2019 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated while driving 75 MPH, the vehicle stalled, with the START/STOP light illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle shut off independently. The vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.
I am the mechanic that was hard to work on this vehicle and I am feeling this out for the customer but I am submitting it in my name . Vehicle has code p105c and p0303. The first code is pending permanent and stored, it is saying the intake valve is stuck in a low lift position. The second code is for cylinder 3 misfire. We had the coils switched over from cylinder 3 to cylinder 5 and made sure that the wiring was not damaged and the same code keeps coming back for that cylinder as well as the p105c. It causes the vehicle to start shaking while going down the road almost causing an accident. There is a recall on the 2020 Pacifica having the same code but there isn't a recall on the 2019 which has the same engine.
The coolant keeps disappearing from the resevoir tank and there is a gurgling noise coming from the front driver side. The engine starts rough with the check engine light on.
Around 79,000 miles, my 2019 Pacifica experienced check engine error codes. Upon diagnostics by a repair shop, found that the engine coolant was leaking into the engine due to a bad head gasket and that the engine cylinders were damaged and the only repair is a full engine replacement. The car has been maintained and received regular oil changes and should not fail in this manner at less than 80,000 miles. Reading through various forums I see this is a known issue with the 2017+ model year Pacificas
My 2019 Pacifica Hybrid started showing a message around 07/19 “Service Charing Station” followed by Service Park brakes, Service Parking system and was not able to start or control anything in the car. After 15 to 30 minutes it started working and no errors. On Friday, 07/26, car stopped all of a sudden (luckily my family was in the parking lot) and showed a different message “Stop Safely. Vehicle will stop soon” message and after that it went completely dead. This is a concern that the vehicle would stop when driving and making the vehicle not responding to anything. You cannot control (brakes, driving modes, light) anything and when AAA jump started the car was in “Running” mode and asking to power on the vehicle.
I have a 2019 Chrysler Pacifica that has had several issues since I purchased it. The Start Stop System warning lamp comes on and off, and my check engine light is on. The van is barely driveable, it shudders, stalls, and is a major safety concern for my family. I use this van to transport my 3 young children around, and I never know when it is going to stall. It has completely lost power on the highway, resulting in a near catastrophic accident. I have reached out to Chrysler directly, as well as the dealer. There is indeed many recalls on this year and model car, but I am told my VIN number is not included. Chrysler, and the dealership, Imperial Chrysler in Mendon Ma, refuse to address the issue because my VIN is not included, but yet my car is experiencing the same exact symptoms and issues that...
While @ highway speed this vehicle lost ipower steering, power braking and the engine stalled out…this latest event prompted my complaint and was the third time I have experienced this situation. In all three incidents I was simply able to coast to the side of the road and stop. Thankfully after a few attempts to restart the vehicle started and ran. It was very frightening given it lost total power on all three occasions without notice or warning it like it just turns itself off. I contacted RollX vans the folks from whom we purchased this handicap transport vehicle and they informed me of a safety recall V53 for 2017-2019 Pacificas. The recall details the exact symptoms of what I experienced. I took the recall information and the vehicle to a local dealership Larry H Miller Chrysler, Tucson AZ and they mostly dismissed my account and said there is NO...
Engine was running low on coolant due to malfunction of heads Computer did not warn me or temperature senser gage showed normal Engine needs replaced now
Engine failure; engine light P0306 error, cylinder 6 head gasket blown. Mileage 62k, Year 2019. Yes, vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The vehicle was a danger to my family and others, as it unexpectedly overheated on the freeway, and there were no known engine problems to that point. I drive a minivan for my family (2 parents and 3 children), and I am also a carpool parent for two other children, and regularly drive children to and from school, twice a day. An engine failure with no warning is a massive danger and a huge compromise to safety to the families involved and those on the road around us as it occurred unexpectedly on a freeway, at freeway speeds. Upon inspection by a mechanic, it was discovered that the vehicle had no coolant, the coolant had been leaking into the engine, causing mis-firing of cylinder 6, and the...
Have replace both batteries every year since purchased, the engine start stop acts up alot of the time when you pull up to a red light the engine will turn off and then turn on automatically (shuts the electrical system completely down then it will come back on) the batteries like over heat and swell up will this cause a fire
I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the ongoing issues plaguing my car. This dissatisfaction is compounded by the fact that this car was brand new when I picked it up from the dealership, with no miles on it. Since then, I have encountered a series of concerning problems. At around 30,000 miles, the batteries required replacement, followed shortly by a transmission replacement at 40,000 miles. Additionally, the TV screens throughout the car began shutting off autonomously, a persistent issue that remains unresolved. Subsequently, at 60,000 miles, both the engine and batteries needed replacement once again. Despite repeated efforts to address these issues under warranty, the car continues to experience persistent troubles. It often stalls every two days, and despite addressing these issues under warranty, the TV malfunctions persist. Furthermore, the situation has escalated with the engine now overheating and malfunctions occurring in critical safety features such as...
On two different occasions and in two different places my vehicle stalled.Once on a highway in a traffic jam and once coming off a highway exit on my way home. In both cases the vehicle simply lost power. It is a 2019 Pacifica Touring L. I looked it up and saw similar complaints concerning the hybrid model but none for a non-hybrid. The vehicle is available for inspection. It is an extreme safety issue as both happened on or just leaving a major highway with lots of traffic. I am taking it into the local dealer hopefully tomorrow. The vehicle has not been inspected by anyone as of this date. No warning lights or messages flashed prior to the events. The vehicle has been serviced by the local Chrysler dealer up until the last oil change at 48,000 miles. On each occasion I instinctively stabbed the "start" button and it...
Leaked coolant into cylinder 6 at 47,090 miles. Head gasket replaced under warranty by dealer on 4/26/22. Currently experiencing cylinder 6 misfire, rough idling and using 16 oz coolant per month at 66,683 miles. Dealer recommended new head gasket and new head on 10/20/23.
Car was stopped at a red light and shifted on its own into park
Van was idling rough and started to struggle to start in the morning, at times needing to try a few times before it would start up. Once driving the van is still idling roughly and at red lights feels as if it will not be able to drive at all. The check engine light came on so we had the error code read at AutoZone throwing the P0303 Cylinder 1 misfire. We first took it to our local mechanic where he was unable to fully diagnose the issue, he recommended we then take it to the dealership. Our van is currently at the dealership with coolant leaking into the head gasket. We have opened a case with the dealership and are independently pursuing them taking responsibility for the faulty parts. The car did not 'drive hot' at all and not temperature gauge change occurred at all. I cannot safely drive...

The contact owns a 2019 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, or while the vehicle was idling, the Auto START/STOP system light intermittently illuminated. The vehicle was taken to Auto Zone to be diagnosed. The mechanic retrieved DTC codes: P0205 and P0305. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle was previously taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the main wiring harness, ignition coil, and other unknown parts needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 121,419.
The van completely turns off, engine stops running, when stopped at traffic lights. The van then has to be completely restarted. There is also a consistent issue with the start/stop feature. A warning appears and the start/stop feature is disabled. This error typically occurs after the engine turns off when at a traffic signal.
I was getting my oil changed and the guy told me that my engine was no longer bolted down, that it can move all around. I called Chrysler and they told me that they would charge me to diagnose the problem and that it would not be covered under warranty. I took it to another shop and they said that it was not bolted down, because the bolts that Chrysler used were bad. It is so frustrating that my engine could slide around causing all sorts of issues and Chrysler does not care at all. How is that not covered?
Vehicle has continually shifted roughly, but beginning last year it stalled while coming to a stop. We replaced the battery and removed the auxillary battery that controls the automatic start/stop and had no issues for almost a year. Approximately a week ago, the vehicle began to stall again when coming to a stop, and giving a message stating to "service shifter." It has happened multiple times since. There was a lawsuit for this model regarding the crankshaft position sensor, but we are only reimbursed if we have paid for repairs. Can you help?
My wife got in the vehicle after shopping and tried to start the vehicle. She said all displays were dark or blank and no instrument cluster lights, no indication on the touch screen. She said she tried several times to start the vehicle and same thing happened. She stated that after waiting a considerable time she tried calling me about the problem but I didn’t answer. She then tried one more time to start the vehicle and this time everything came up normally. When she got home I checked the vehicle for malfunctions and found none. Thus far the problem has not recurred. This happened about 2 weeks ago, around the 8th or 9th of June 2023. I decided to fill this out because if she had been traveling on the Interstate Highway at high speed this could have ended very badly.
For the second time on three months (now four times in one year) the start/stop feature says it’s not working. Both batteries have been replaced. The vehicle will simply shut off while driving.
2019 Chrysler Pacifica Limited 4/15/23- Uconnect radio failed to do over the air update. Since that failure the electrical system in the car has now caused the car to be non functional and intermittent. All the safety features stopped and warning lights came on stating service transmission so the car was brought to Chrysler dealership. Dealership has replicated the problem and now had the car now for over a month and replaced parts, some at my cost with no fix. The problem still occurs for them as well. I have asked multiple times if the radio could have caused this and each time I am told no.
BLOWN CYLINDER HEAD GASKET ON THE RIGHT SIDE.
Ever since we purchased this vehicle it has had problems shifting when accelerating it jerks the whole car, and you hear a loud thud. Once in awhile it feels like the car has no power when trying to accelerate. We have had nothing but issues with the Start/Stop control system. We have taken it back to the dealership multiple times. They have replaced the alternate battery two times in the past year and now it is doing it again and will need to be replaced. The dealership just says it is the battery, and a software download. The problem has not been corrected yet. Most recently while on a busy state highway the car decided to throw all error codes, and completely shut down.
My local Chrysler dealership suggested (and charged me for) computer updates relating to the sliding doors and transmission of a 2019 Pacifica minivan. Without these updates, the service advisor said the sliding doors may not open/close and that the engine may rev but power may not be delivered to the drivetrain. Doors can be opened manually. I am not all that concerned about that one. But if the engine revs but does not deliver power to the wheels, the results can be catastrophic, especially while pulling out in traffic at highway speeds. These issues require a recall with costs covered by the manufacturer not the consumer. I was charged $165.00 for this repair.
Light come on dash board to park safely car will shut down. Car stalls all lights on dashboard will come on, alcar shuts down and nothing work not even the hassard light it goes complete dead. After 20 mintutes r more been shut down it will turn on like nothing happen, no lights on dashboard happen 5 times on ah year and cant find the problem at the dealer. Thanks you
Please read! This is the 10th occurrence of this issue, and second time posting here as a safety issue. I hope no one else experiences this. The issue still cant be diagnosed, so trying for another time. Last time they had the Pacifica for over 7 weeks! As per previous complaint on Jan 6, 2023 with our 2 year old twin toddlers with us in the vehicle again, the vehicle is still having the same safety issue. I dont feel safe any longer driving my Pacifica. I called the customer care line and was told nothing can be done without a diagnosis. It will be dropped off, but no appt avail for a month. You cant replicate this. No one should have to experience it. **We were driving on the freeway at 55 mph. After 30 min on the freeway at 55-60 mph, the Pacifica all of a sudden states car...
The contact owns a 2019 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated while at a stop light, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled with the START/STOP warning light illuminated. Due to the failure, the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who could not find any default codes with the vehicle. The vehicle resumed normal operation; however, after approximately 3-weeks, the vehicle failed to start up after several attempts. The dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.
Hello we had a complete shut down at 5 pm Friday at an intersection this past weekend. While at the light, the car just 'shut off'. The van did start back up with in 2 minutes. There are no engine, battery, etc. warning lights currently displayed. This has happened twice with in the past 6 month. Main battery and auxiliary are both new. All connections are torqued to spec. Very dangerous situation.
