TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHRYSLER 200. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT EMITTING HEAT AND THE DEFROSTER FAILED TO DEFROST THE WINDOWS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE HEATER CORE AND THE RADIATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
ON APRIL 26, 2012, I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 2012 CHRYSLER FROM AN OFFICIAL CHRYSLER CORPORATION DEALERSHIP. SINCE THEN THIS CAR HAS BEEN PUT IN THE SHOP APPROXIMATELY 30 TIMES FOR FROM MEDIUM TO MAJOR PROBLEMS. THE 1ST MAJOR PROBLEM WAS 9/26/212 WHICH WAS DIAGNOSED AS GEAR-RACK AND PINON. IT HAS HAD TWO LIFTERS(RELATIVE TO THE MOTOR) BECAUSE OF LOUD TAPPING. THREE HEATER CORDS; A COUPLE OF RE-CALLS;TRANSMISSIONS LEAKS; INTERNAL ENGINE DAMAGES; HEADLAMPS NEEDED IMMEDIATE REPLACEMENTS; WASHER FLUID TANK LEAKED AND NEEDED IMMEDIATE REPLACEMENT; THE CAR HORN FAILED TO BLOW ON DEMAND; BRAKES NEEDED IMMEDIATE REPLACEMENTS; CAMSHAFT, ROCKERS HAD TO BE REPLACED TWICE; HEATER CORD EXPERIENCED INTERNAL FAILURE AND HAD TO BE REPLACED; BRAKE PADS; BRAKE LIGHT (DASHBOARD) HAS BEEN BEEPING ON SINCE 2013 AND IS STILL DOING THE SAME THING TODAY; ENGINE AIR FILTER HAD TO BE REPLACED; AND A HOST OF OTHER VEHICLE PROBLEMS THAT SHOULD NOT BE...
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHRYSLER 200. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE HEATING SYSTEM WAS ACTIVATED AND COLD AIR EMITTED ONLY FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE VENTS. THE FAILURE RECURRED CONTINUOUSLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000.
I OWN A 2012 CHRYSLER 200, THE ENGINE STOPS/FAILS ABOUT EVERY TWO MONTHS WHILE BRAKING OR WHILE STOPPED. THIS IS DANGEROUS AS IT CAN STOP ANYWHERE AND THEY MIGHT REAR END THE CAR OR SOMETHING. I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP 4 DIFFERENT TIMES WITH THE SAME ISSUE, THE FIRST TIME THEY CHANGED THE PCM. AFTER ABOUT 2 MONTHS THE CAR'S ENGINE STOPPED WHILE BRAKING OR WHILE AT A STOPLIGHT. THE 2ND AND 3RD TIME I TOOK THE CAR THEY DID NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR AND GAVE IT TO ME AFTER A COUPLE OF DAYS. THE 4TH TIME WHEN I TOOK THE CAR THEY SAID THAT IT WAS THE BATTERY AND THEY PUT IN A NEW BATTERY. WELL ABOUT 2 DAYS AGO THE CAR STOPPED AGAIN WHILE AT A STOPLIGHT. I HAVE NOT TAKEN THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AS THEY NEVER FIND ANYTHING...
RANDOMLY SHUTS DOWN WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD,WITH NO WARNING
WINDSHIELD WIPERS QUIT WORKING. ONLY WIPE ON HIGH. TOOK INTO DEALER TO REPAIR, THEY REPLACED THE WIPER MOTOR. DID NOT FIX PROBLEM, THEY THEN RAN CODES TO TELL ME IT IS THE TIPM. MY EXTENDED WARRANTY COMPANY SAID THEY WILL NOT COVER, PROBLEM STILL NOT FIXED.

THE WARNING INDICATORS FUNCTIONED NORMALLY AFTER 20 MINUTES, BUT THE AIR BAG LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED AND A TIPM WARNING INDICATOR FLASHED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. I NOTICED AFTER I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE IN 2012, I STARTED HAVING ISSUES WITH MY CAR IN 2013. MY CAR STARTED HAVING HEAT COMING FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE. I IGNORED THIS ISSUE BUT THEN IT STARTED HAPPENING MORE OFTEN. ON MY LAST OIL CHANGE THE DEALER DIDN'T FILL MY OVERFLOW FOR THE ANTIFREEZE SO I HAD A FRIEND TO FILL IT UP. AFTER FILLING THE ANTIFREEZE HE DECIDED TO TURN ON THE ENGINE. WHAT HAPPENS NEXT IS THAT THE ANTIFREEZE BEGAN TO BOIL. THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING. WHILE DRIVING THE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS BEGAN TO FAIL. RADIO, ABS SYSTEM, WINDOWS AND AC ALL SHUT OFF. THE CAR FAILED TO ACCELERATE PROPERLY AND ENGINE WOULD NOT SHIFT GEARS. BRAKING AND STEERING SYSTEMS BECAME COMPROMISED BEFORE CAR COMPLETELY STALLED AND COASTED TO STOP ON SIDE OF ROAD. APPROXIMATELY 2-3 MINUTES FROM BATTERY LIGHT GOING ON TO THE CAR BECOMING TOTALLY NONRESPONSIVE. CAR WOULD NOT START, UNLESS JUMPED. REQUIRED TOW. DEALERSHIP STATES THE ISSUE WAS AN ALTERNATOR THAT SHORTED, AND IN TURN BURNED OUT THE BATTERY. REQUIRED THE REPLACEMENT OF BOTH THE ALTERNATOR AND THE BATTERY AT A COST OF APPROXIMATELY $1100.00 (BEFORE NEGOTIATED DISCOUNT OF 10%).
WHILE DRIVING, THE CAR BEGAN TO RAPIDLY LOSE FUNCTIONALITY WHILE WARNING LIGHTS WERE APPEARING ON THE DASHBOARD UNTIL IT ABRUPTLY SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC. THE TIME FROM NO WARNING LIGHTS TO COMPLETE LOSS OF FUNCTIONALITY WAS APPROXIMATELY 10-15 SECONDS. THE SHUT DOWN INCLUDED AN ABRUPT LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND BRAKING CAPABILITIES WHILE DRIVING ON A BUSY STREET AT NIGHT. I WAS ABLE TO QUICKLY COMPENSATE FOR THE LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND BRAKING AND STOP THE VEHICLE WHILE AVOIDING A CRASH, BUT JUST BARELY. THANKFULLY, I BROKE DOWN NEXT TO TWO POLICE OFFICERS WHO HELPED PUSH MY VEHICLE ONTO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THESE OFFICERS MAY BE ABLE TO ATTEST TO THE FACT THAT NO NOISES OR ABNORMAL OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE WAS APPARENT BEFORE THE ABRUPT SHUT-OFF WHILE DRIVING. DRIVING CAR AND PREPARING TO STOP FOR A RED LIGHT THE CAR SUDDENLY STALLED..NO WARNING. EVERYTHING JUST QUIT. THERE IS AN AWFUL SMELL OF FUMES COMING THROUGH THE AIRVENTS INSIDE CAR. IT'S SO TERRIBLE THAT IT TAKES YOUR BREATH AWAY. WELL I FOUND OUT THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS BECAUSE IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THAC 7 HEATING SYSTEM. MOLD AND BACTERIA HAS SET UP AROUND THE HEATER CORE AND THE ANTIFREEZE HAS STARTED LOOKING LIKE THICK GLUE OR SOMETHING. NOW MY HEAT DOES NOT WORK CORRECTLY. UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS ALL OF A SUDDEN THE VEHICLE ACCELERATES ON ITS OWN. THE ENGINE STALLS AND LOSS OF STEERING. THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL WARNING LIGHT COMES ON AND BLINKS, AS WELL AS THE ENGINE LIGHT AND THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT COMES ON. PURCHASE NEW OFF THE CHRYSLER DEALER LOT APRIL 2012.THERE ARE THREE KNOBS THAT CONTROL THE HEATING AND COOLING IN THE CAR WHEN THE BLOWER IS TURNED TO A LOW SETTING IT WILL BLOW HOT AIR REGARDLESS OF TEMPERATURE THAT IS SELECTED FOR EXAMPLE IF IT IS SITTING AT 66DEGREES IT WILL BLOW EXTREMELY HOT AIR AND ONLY IF THE BLOWER IS SET TO MAX WILL IT EVENTUALLY COOL DOWN TO THE SELECTED TEMPERATURE. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO TRADE IN 2012 CHRYSLER 200, PURCHASED ON 07/15/2014, VIN #[XXX] FROM FLORIDA FINE CAR LOCATED AT 1027 S STATE ROAD 7 HOLLYWOOD FLORIDA 33023 I WAS INFORMED BY SALES REPRESENTATIVE OF CARMAX THAT I COULD NOT RECEIVE THE BEST TRADE IN OFFER BECAUSE THE VEHICLE HAD ?EVIDENCE OF MAJOR REAR END REPAIRS AND RE-WELDED TRUNK PAN. CARMAX WILL NOT RETAIL THIS VEHICLE.? 9/4/13 -- HEADREST POPPED OPEN WHILE DRIVING, FRONT POWER OUTLET NOT OPERATING, HESITATES ON ACCELERATION, NOISE UNDER HOOD AND SPLASH SHIELD MISSING SCREWS. OUTLET FUSE WAS REPLACED, PLASTIC HOLD DOWNS FOR SPLASH SHIELD REPLACED AND HEADREST FOUND TO BE DEFECTIVE. SADLY TO SEE SERVICE REP ASKED, ?IF I HAD TAMPERED WITH HEADREST. WHILE DRIVING 15MPH IN A 25MPH ZONE DUE TO NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE THE ROAD ON A DOWNGRADE I ALMOST HIT AN ANIMAL AND COMING CLOSE TO ALSO HITTING A LOW CENTER MEDIAN BEING UNABLE TO SEE IN FRONT OF MY VEHICLE MORE THAN 10 FEET OR LESS. INFORMED CHRYSLER AND AS OTHER PEOPLE STATED THEY WANT TO DO AN ADJUSTMENT AND DIAGNOSIS OF PROBLEM. I HAVE AND DRIVE OTHER VEHICLES AND HAVE NOT HAD THIS ISSUE WITH ANYTHING ELSE JUST THIS VEHICLE THERE IS NOT ENOUGH LIGHT AND THE CUTOFF IS SERIOUSLY BAD. *TR
I BOUGHT THIS CAR USE WITH 27,000 MILE ON IT. I HAVE ONLY HAD THE CAR FOR 45 DAYS OR SO. MY CAR IS JUMPING FORWARD WHEN I COME TO A STOP. AT FIRST THE LURCHING WAS VERY FAINT NOW AT 31,000 MILES THE LURCHING IS MORE PRONOUNCED. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP PRIOR TO THE WARRANTY ENDING AND THEY ACTED LIKE THEY WHERE UNAWARE OF THE ISSUE/OR DIDN'T UNDERSTAND THE ISSUE. ANY WAY I AM BEGINNING TO FEEL UNSAFE SINCE IT IS HAPPENING MORE. THE CAR LURCHED FORWARD DURING A SUDDEN STOP ONE TIME, NOT GOOD. *TR
FIRST TIME CAR WOULDN'T START. DEALERSHIP CHARGED BATTERY AND DID SOFTWARE UPDATE. SECOND TIME CAR WOULDN'T START THEY REPLACED BATTERY. THIRD TIME CAR WOULDN'T START BATTERY COMPLETELY DRAINED THEY SAID IT WAS A GLOVE BOX SWITCH. FOURTH TIME CAR WOULDN'T START THEY SAID IT WAS THE USB CABLE KEEPING THE RADIO POWERED ON ALL THE TIME. SAME CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP WORKED ON IT ALL FOUR TIMES. BRAND NEW CAR BOUGHT AUGUST OF 2012. ALL FOUR TIMES HAVE BEEN IN LESS THAN TWO MONTHS! THIS CAR IS NOT SAFE. CHRYSLER IS NOT DOING THE RIGHT THING BY THEIR CUSTOMERS! ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED. IN THE USA WE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PUT UP WITH BEING RIPPED OFF LIKE THIS. *TR
WHEN GOING OVER THE BRIDGE OR ENTERING INTO TRAFFIC CAR SEEM TO STALL, RADIO AND LIGHT SHUTOFF AND GIVE ME A ERROR MESSAGE ENTER ID CODE. HAVE BEEN NEARLY REAR ENDED BY ON COMING TRAFFIC. THE CONSOLE FOR THE HEAT CONTROLS HAVE FELL DOWN AND DEALERSAYS THEY CANNOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. PURCHASED THE CAR IN MARCH OF 2012 AND HAVE HAD PROBLEMS SINCE I BOUGHT IT. I LOVE CAR BUT HATE ALL THE PROBLEMS THAT I AM HAVING AND IT'S ONLY BEEN 9 MONTHS AND TOOK IT BACK TO DEALER ABOUT 4 TIMES ALREADY AND HAVE AN APPOINTMENT ON 1/11/2013. *TR
PROJECTOR TYPE HEAD LAMPS ARE AIMED TOO LOW AND CANNOT BE ADJUSTED AS DESIGNED. ON DARK ROADS PERIPHERAL LIGHTING FROM HEAD LAMPS IS NON EXISTENT. BRIGHTS ARE NEEDED BUT NOT PRACTICAL FOR CONSTANT USE AND IS ILLEGAL IN TOWN AS WELL. THIS IS A REAL DESIGN FLAW AND SOME ONE IS GOING TO GET HURT IN A NIGHT TIME ACCIDENT DUE TO THE POOR DESIGN OF THE LIGHTING SYSTEM ON THIS MODEL. *TR
I JUST RENTED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THE FOLLOWING, THE BATTERY HAS NO BOOT OR OTHER INSULATION DEVICE PROTECTING EITHER ITS POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE TERMINALS. THE BATTERY IS LOCATED DOWN IN A WELL IN FRONT OF THE FRONT LEFT TIRE. IT WOULD BE VERY POSSIBLE FOR SOMEONE TO ACCIDENTALLY DROP A METAL TOOL DOWN INTO THAT WELL WHERE IT COULD CAUSE A SHORT-CIRCUIT TO THE NEGATIVE TERMINAL. A SHORT-CIRCUITED AUTO BATTERY IS CAPABLE OF DELIVERING HUNDREDS OF AMPS OF CURRENT, WHICH EQUATES TO AN ELECTRIC ARC WELDER. THE POTENTIAL DANGERS OF THOSE UNPROTECTED BATTERY TERMINALS SHOULD WARRANT A SAFETY INVESTIGATION TO DETERMINE IF A RECALL SHOULD BE INITIATED TO CORRECT THIS APPARENT DESGIN FLAW. *TR
