THE 2016 CHRYSLER 200 has a defect in it , the drain hoses become plugged and flood the interior of the car. There is no easy way to access these hoses without taking apart the cowl under the hood of the car and removing the windshield wipers to access the drain. It has happened now three times costing 500 each time to have it cleaned and blown out ... There needs to be something done about this . As it can cause electrical problems in the car with all the water that floods in through the heater area... Chrysler is well aware of this problem all the way back to the Sebring yet they have done nothing to correct it . They ever tell the buyer that this need to be cleaned and they really provide no access to the owner to clean the area without disassemble of the cowl...
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHRYSLER 200. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR STARTED TO SMOKE. THE CONTACT STATED THE SHE ATTEMPTED TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE WITH WATER HOWEVER, SHE WAS UNABLE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED AND EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. THE CONTACT A DISABLE PERSON, WAS SCARED FOR HER SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF OTHERS. THE CONTACT CALLED THE DEALER WHERE SHE SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT AND LATER TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO LONE STAR CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM DEALER, (8811 INTERSTATE 35 ACCESS RD, SAN ANTONIO, TX 78211) BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT NOW THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR FAILED TO LOCK. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND SENT OUT A THIRD PARTY AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE DOOR WAS BADLY BURNED AND THERE WAS NOTING ELSE THEY COULD DO. THE FAILURE...
I WAS TRAVELING 55 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY MY TIRE BLEW OUT AN THE FENDER BLEW OFF BUT SOMEHOW THE CARS WHOLE ENGINE WIRING SYSTEM WAS RIPPED OUT OF THE CAR IN WHICH THE WHOLE CAR WENT COMPLETELY DEAD OF ALL ELECTRICITY THANKFULLY I WAS ABLE TO PULL ON SHOULDER OF HIGHWAY BEFORE THE CAR STOPPED ROLLING.
THE CAR ACCUMULATES DEBRIS BELOW THE WINDSHIELD UNDER THE PLASTIC TRAY WHICH CLOGS UP A DRAIN TUBE WHICH THEN MAKES THE WATER FLOOD BACK THROUGH THE HEATER CORE INTO THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR . WETTING THE FLOOR SOAKING THE CARPET AND CAUSING RUST AND BLACK MOLD. I HAD IT FIXED ONCE, BUT AFTER INVESTIGATION INTO THE CHRYSLER CARS THAT THIS IS AN ON GOING PROBLEM WITH ALL THEIR VEHICLES FOR YRS NOW. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AND THIS DESIGN FLAW FIXED. EITHER THEY NEED TO HAVE FREE MAINTENANCE OF THIS OR THEY NEED TO HAVE A SEPARATE TUBE FOR RAIN DRAINAGE AND A DIFFERENT TUBE FOR AC HEAT DRAINAGE.. IT HAS CAUSE DEPRECIATION OF MY OVER ALL RESALE VALUE OF THIS CAR PLUS CAUSED CARPET PADDING DAMAGE RUST AND POSSIBLY MOLD IN MY CAR.. CHRYSLER KEEPS LAYING BACK ON THE OWNERS SAYING MAINTENANCE PROBLEM .. AND CHARGING...
MOLD INSIDE PASSENGER DOOR AND BACK LEFT SIDE DOOR, EVERY TIME IT RAINS, WATER COLLECTS IN THE DOOR AND NEVER COMES OUT - CAUSING MOLD TO FORM. CAR HAS NEVER BEEN WRECKED AND IT WAS BOUGHT BRAND NEW
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHRYSLER 200. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, A LOUD NOISE WAS HEARD. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER AND NOTICED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE FENDER WALL WAS LOOSE AND WRAPPED AROUND THE TIRE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DETACH THE FENDER WALL FROM THE TIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FENDER WALL NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE FENDER WALL WAS REPLACED. A MONTH LATER, THE CONTACT DROVE OVER A HOLE AND THE FENDER WALL HAD TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. THE ISSUE RECURRED A THIRD TIME, BUT THE FENDER WALL WAS NOT REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 135,000.
WAS DRIVING CAR GOING ONLY 25-30 MPH AND MADE AN ATTEMPT TO SLOW DOWN TO A STOP WHICH I HAD PLENTY OF TIME AND SPACE BETWEEN CAR IN FRONT OF ME AND MY FRONT FENDER TO DO, AS I APPLIED BRAKES I NOTICE IT GO ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND MY CAR WOULDN'T STOP WHICH SOON AFTER HAVING PLENTY OF SPACE TO DO IT LED TO A REAR END COLLISION AS MY BRAKES FAILED TO WORK CORRECTLY WHEN APPLIED. I HAVE A POLICE REPORT TO VERIFY THE INCIDENT ON 09/27/2016 IN APPLETON, WI. BECAUSE I WAS GOING AT A REALLY SLOW SPEED AT THE TIME LUCKILY NO ONE WAS REALLY HURT WHEN THIS OCCURRED AROUND 10:00 AM IN AN AREA WITH LITTLE TO NO TRAFFIC AT THE TIME, BUT EVEN KNOW I WAS ONLY GOING AROUND 20 WHEN THERE WAS AN IMPACT MY CAR WHICH WAS NEW PRIOR...
WHILE DRIVING AT 40 MILES PER HOUR, THE HOOD FLEW UP, AND BACK, INTO THE WINDOW AND MARKED THE ROOF. WE DISCOVERED THAT THE HOOD RELEASE HAD BEEN PULLED EARLIER, INSTEAD OF TRUNK RELEASE. MY ISSUE, AFTER CLOSING THE NOW "SPRUNG" HOOD, WE TESTED THE SECONDARY "SAFETY" LATCH, IT DID NOT HOLD

APPROXIMATELY 45 MINUTES TO 1 HOUR AFTER RETIRING, I WAS AWAKENED BY A LOUD EXPLOSION AND MY NEIGHBORS BEATING ON MY FRONT DOOR TO AWAKEN ME AND MY 21 YEAR OLD GRANDSON. HE ALSO WAS SLEEPING IN ANOTHER BEDROOM. WHEN BOTH OF US ATTEMPTED TO ESCAPE FROM THE HOUSE THROUGH THE KITCHEN/GARAGE ENTRANCE, WE WERE MET MY HEAVY BELLOWING GREY AND BLACK SMOKE THAT PREVENTED OUR EXIT AND ALMOST OVERWHELMED US. SEVERAL MONTHS LATER, I AM YET SUFFERING FROM THE SHOCK AND EMOTIONAL TRAUMA. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHRYSLER 200. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V282000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. ON A SEPARATE OCCASION, WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED AND THE GEAR WAS PLACED INTO PARK, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED THROUGH A WALL. THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE AND LATER TOWED TO GEICO. THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE WAS REPLACED. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THE BRAKES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,000.
CAN SEE BUBBLING THRU PAINT ON ENGINE HOOD TOOK TO DEALER WAS TOLD ALUMINUM HOOD IS CORRODING
WHEN DRIVING, AFTER A RAIN, ESPECIALLY WHEN TURNING CORNERS WATER COMES RUSHING TO THE FRONT OF THE CAR FROM UNDERNEATH THE DASHBOARD. MOST TIMES THE PASSENGER SIDE IS DRENCH AND THE DRIVER SIDE IS SLIGHTLY DRENCHED BUT I'M SURE THIS A PROBLEM BECAUSE THERE MUST BE WIRES EXPOSED. PLEASE HELP.
WITHIN 2 DAYS OF PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE, REAR BRAKES WERE SQUEALING LIKE THEY WOULD DO IF THEY WERE DUE TO BE REPLACED. I BROUGHT IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SUPPOSEDLY INSPECTED THEM AND TOLD ME "ITS JUST RUST FROM SITTING ON THE LOT AND IT WILL CLEAR UP AFTER YOU DRIVE IT A WHILE", IT CONTINUED AND A COUPLE MONTHS FOLLOWING THE FIRST VISIT I RETURNED WITH THE VEHICLE AND TOLD THEM IT STILL WAS MAKING THE NOISE AND THEY CHECKED IT OUT AGAIN AND SAID "OH, ITS JUST DUST ON THE BRAKES AND IF YOU STEP ON YOUR BRAKES HARD AT ABOUT 40 MPH THAT SHOULD TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM". HERE WE ARE 2 YEARS LATER AND THE REAR BRAKES STILL MAKE THE SQUEALING NOISE. ABOUT JUNE/JULY OF THIS YEAR TIMEFRAME I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE IN TO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE I HAVE ABOUT 5 DIFFERENT SPOTS...
. THERE ARE ABOUT 8 CARS AHEAD OF ME IN MY LANE AS WE WAIT FOR THE GREEN LIGHT. WHEN THE LIGHTS TURN GREEN I NOTE THAT MY LANE HASN'T MOVED AND THE BUSES ARE STEADY CHUGGING THROUGH THE INTERSECTION IN THE LEFT LANE I LOOK INTO MY REARVIEW MIRROR, I WAS THE LAST CAR IN LINE FOR THIS STOP AND I HADN'T EVEN GOTTEN MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE AND ALL I COULD SEE WAS A BIG BLACK GRILL COMING TOWARD ME. I BRACED MY HANDS ON THE STEERING WHEEL AND SHOUTED PLEASE DON'T HIT ME' BEFORE I COULD FINISH THE SENTENCE BLAM!' FORTUNATELY THE CARS AHEAD OF ME WERE JUST STARTING TO MOVE FORWARD. MY HEAD SNAPPED SO HARD MY EARS WENT FULL. THE DASH MAT ON MY CAR CAME AT ME LIKE AN AIRBAG. MY PHONE IN THE FRONT CENTER CONSOLE FLEW FORWARD AND HIT THE SHIFT...
