EVAPORATOR LEAKING. NO WORKING A/C IN CAR.
TAKATA RECALL FOR THE TIMING CHAINS. MY FAMILY AND I WAS ON OUR WAY TO CHICAGO WHEN I HEARD A KNOCKING NOISE. I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE AND HAD MY CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY ADVISED ME THAT THE TIMING CHAIN WAS THE ISSUE AND WAS A KNOWN ISSUE ON THESE CARS.
WHILE DRIVING WITH MY DAUGHTER MY TRUCK STARTED TO PICK UP SPEED THAN SLOW DOWN AS IF IT WAS ABOUT TO CUT OFF. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON THAN THE ENGINE POWER STARTED TO REDUCE .WE HAD IT CHECKED OUT AND WE TOLD SEVERAL DIFFERENT CODES SHOWED. THE VEHICLE WILL NOT TURN BACK ON. THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED US THAT THE TIMING CHAIN HAD STRETCHED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. AFTER LOOKING UP RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE AND THE PROBLEM OTHERS ARE HAVING WITH THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL I CALLED GM TO SEE IF THEY WERE WILLING TO HELP. I WAS TOLD THERE'S NOTHING THEY CAN DO BECAUSE THE PROBLEM IS NOT BIG AS OF NOW BUT IN THE FUTURE IF THEY CONTINUE TO HAVE THEM PROBLEMS THEY WOULD SEND ME OUT A RECALL ON IT. MY PROBLEM IS HOW MANY MORE COMPLAINTS DO THEY NEED BEFORE THEY RECALL...
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. WHILE DRIVING AT A LOW RATE OF SPEED, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND WAS UNABLE TO BE RESTARTED. IN ADDITION, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO STOCKERS CHEVROLET (701 BENNER PIKE, STATE COLLEGE, PA 16801, (814) 515-9941) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TIMING CHAIN MALFUNCTIONED. AS A RESULT, THE ENGINE FAILED AND BLEW OUT FOUR CYLINDERS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
TIMING CHAINS STRETCHED. REVIEWED ONLINE COMPLAINTS AND THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR THIS VEHICLE. CHEVY HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND WOULD GO OFF SOMETIMES. WHEN I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN I WAS TOLD THAT MY STRUT WAS ALSO LEAKING. $3000 LATER I HAVE NEW TIMING CHAINS AND BREAKS, AND STILL NEED TO PAY AN ADDITIONAL $1000 FOR THE STRUTS. I DRIVE MAINLY HIGHWAY TO AND FROM WORK. NO REASON TIMING CHAIN SHOULD HAVE JUST STRETCHED AND HAD TO BE REPLACED.
WE HAD A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COME ON AND WHEN TESTED WE RECEIVED SEVERAL DIFFERENT CODES. THE VEHICLE DID NOT ACCELERATE AND RAN ROUGH. THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED US THAT THE TIMING CHAIN HAD STRETCHED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE WITH SEVERAL DIFFERENT GM CARS INCLUDING THE ACADIA AND ENCLAVE. GM PROVIDES A SPECIAL COVERAGE ADJUSTMENT FOR SEVERAL MAKES AND MODELS FOR THIS ISSUE UNDER "SPECIAL COVERAGE ADJUSTMENT #11340C", BUT NOT THE 2010 TRAVERSE.

I HAVE HAD THE POWER TRAIN REPAIRED TWICE, ONCE WHILE UNDER WARRANTY, AND THEN AT COST. I HAVE PAID MORE THAN $2K ON THE REPAIR AND YET THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON AND A CHECK OF THE ERROR CODES REVEALS THE SAME PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE HAS FAILED EMISSIONS TESTING AS A RESULT OF THE PROBLEM. I'VE SEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON THIS SITE WITH THE SAME ISSUES. THERE'S DEFINITELY A DEFECT WITHIN THIS MODEL YEAR'S ENGINE SYSTEM INVOLVING THE POWER TRAIN. I AM REQUESTING AN INVESTIGATION AND POSSIBLE RECALL. I CAN'T PUT OUT MORE MONEY TO FIX A MAINTENANCE PROBLEM THAT WILL NEVER BE FIXED. THE CAR SHAKES AS IF IT'S IDLE WHEN DRIVING AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BLINKS OFF AND ON PROFUSELY. OUR 2010 TRAVERSE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A STRETCHED TIMING CHAIN WITH ONLY 63,400 MILES. THIS IS A MAJOR REPAIR COST- CHEVY DEALER ESTIMATE OF $4364! THIS IS A DOCUMENTED AND ADMITTED DEFECT BY GENERAL MOTORS FOR THE 2009 MODEL YEAR TRAVERSE. OUR VEHICLE IS AN EARLY 2010 MODEL YEAR VEHICLE (BUILT SEP 3, 2009 AND PUT INTO SERVICE JAN 4, 2010). GM IS AWARE OF THIS WIDE SPREAD ISSUE AND HAS NOT ACCEPTED RESPONSIBILITY FOR REPAIRS. ADDITIONALLY, WE HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO USE THE REMOTE START (DURING WINTER IN MN!) BECAUSE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DISABLES THIS FEATURE.
VEHICLE HAS 89K MILES AND ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. PER DIAGNOSTIC CODE AND MECHANIC, VEHICLE NEEDS NEW TIMING CHAIN. THE TIMING CHAIN SHOULD LAST UP TO 120K MILES. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE GM TIMING CHAINS USED AT THAT TIME AND GM WILL NOT WARRANTY/PROVIDE SPECIAL COVERAGE TO MY VEHICLE. IF I DRIVE THE VEHICLE (WHICH I WILL NOT) IT CAN STOP RUNNING AT ANY TIME AND THE TIMING CHAIN CAN BREAK WHICH WILL BLOW THE ENGINE. HUGE SAFETY ISSUE AND IT IS NOT BEING ADDRESSED BY GM.

THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND LOCAL DEALER (HUBLER CHEVROLET IN RUSHVILLE, IN) WERE NOTIFIED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 101,847.
STRETCHED TIMING CHAIN WITH ONLY 45000 MILES. RECALL OF LIKE ISSUE FOR 2007, 2008, AND 2009 BUT NOT FOR 2010 MODEL YEAR
I HAVE A 2010 CHEVY TRAVERSE. FIRST IT STARTED WITH A WARNING LIGHTS OF THE STABILIZING TRACK BEING TURNED OFF AND MY ABS LIGHT CAME ON. ON 2/18/2018 MY REDUCE ENGINE WARMING POPPED ON WHILE I'M DOING 75MPH AND MY CAR LOST POWER WHILE I'M ON THE CALIFORNIA FREEWAY, SHAKING AND SLOWING COMPLETELY DOWN. I'M PREGNANT AND I WAS SCARED THAT SOMEONE COULDN'T OF JUST SLAMMED RIGHT INTO ME. I PULLED OVER TO SHUT DOWN MY VEHICLE TO TRY TO RESET IT BUT IT DIDN'T WORK. ALL THE SAME WARNING LIGHTS CAME BACK ON AND THE CAR WOULDN'T GO PAST 40MPH WHILE SPUTTERING ON MY WAY TO WORK. I BOUGHT THE SUV USED TWO YEARS AGO WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS UNTIL RECENTLY. I WAS NOT INFORMED ABOUT ANY RECALLS WITH THIS VEHICLE AND THAT'S VERY UPSETTING SINCE THIS IS MY FAMILY CAR AND MY SELF AND MY KIDS ARE IN IT...

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND OPENED CASE NUMBER: 8-3752702765. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 138,000.
AT ROUGHLY 130000 MILES, I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO A MECHANIC BECAUSE OF A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT THAT WAS ON. I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS DUE TO MY TIMING CHAINS. I HAVE KNOWN OF ANOTHER CASE OF THE SAME PROBLEM IN A VEHICLE WITH THE SAME ENGINE AS MINE THAT HAD THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPEN. THE MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT HE FIXED AT LEASE 12 VEHICLES WITH THIS PROBLEM IN THE LAST YEAR.
POWER STEERING AND TIMING CHAIN FAILED IN VEHICLE AT 74K MILES. THERE ARE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS REGARDING THE SAME ISSUES FROM OTHER OWNERS OF THIS VEHICLE. GENERAL MOTORS HAS NOT ACCEPTED RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS ISSUE WHICH HAS BEEN WIDELY REPORTED. WHILE IN MOTION ON NOVEMBER 4, 2017, OUR VEHICLE BECAME DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER EVENTUALLY SHUTTING OFF. UPON TRYING TO RESTART THE VEHICLE WE HEARD A GRINDING SOUND. WE IMMEDIATELY PUSHED THE VEHICLE TO A NEAR BY REPUTABLE REPAIR SHOP. UPON THEIR EVALUATION IT WAS DETERMINED THE TIMING CHAIN WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. WE CONTACTED GENERAL MOTORS TO INFORM THEM OF THE ISSUE, THEY RESPONDED BY HAVING US TO TOW OUR VEHICLE TO DON BROWN CHEVROLET IN SAINT LOUIS MISSOURI. GENERAL MOTORS ASKED US TO AUTHORIZE DON BROWN TO "BREAK DOWN" THE VEHICLE IN WHICH WE AGREED. WE WERE THEN INFORMED BECAUSE OF A COST ANALYSIS BEING PERFORMED BY...
AT 90,000 MILES, A P0008 CODE CAME UP AND THE ENTIRE TIMING CHAIN SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE COST WAS $2870.00 BECAUSE THE ENTIRE MOTOR HAD TO BE DROPPED. IF THE VEHICLE WAS A 2009, THEY WOULD HAVE REPAIRED IT UNDER WARRANTY BUT BECAUSE IT WAS A 2010, CHEVY WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT.
PREMATURE STRETCHING OF THE TIMING CHAIN. THIS IS A DOCUMENTED AND ADMITTED DEFECT BY GENERAL MOTORS FOR THE 2009 MODEL YEAR TRAVERSE VEHICLES, SERVICE BULLETINS 10287C - APRIL 2012 AND 11340A - MAY 2012. OUR VEHICLE, WHICH IS LABELED AS AN EARLY 2010 MODEL YEAR VEHICLE (BUILT IN OCTOBER 2009) WAS BUILT IN THE SAME FACTORY (SPRING HILL, TN) AND WITH THE SAME COMPONENTS (3.6L V6 ENGINE) AS THE VEHICLES THAT WERE INCLUDED IN THE BULLETINS BUT WE DID NOT RECEIVE THE EXTENDED COVERAGE. OUR VEHICLE SHOULD BE COVERED IN THE SPECIAL PROGRAM.
IN 2015, OUR VEHICLE BEGAN MAKING WEIRD SOUND ON ACCELERATION AND DECELERATION. ACCELERATION WOULD RAMP SLOWLY OR STALL SPORADICALLY WHILE IN MOTION. WE TOOK IT INTO A CHEVY DEALERSHIP, WHERE WE WERE TOLD THAT THE TIMING CHAIN WAS STRETCHED. WE PAID FOR THE REPAIR. IN NOVEMBER 2017, THE SAME EVENTS OCCURRED AGAIN WHILE IN MOTION. AGAIN THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT THE ISSUE WAS A STRETCHED INTERNAL TIMING CHAIN.
CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE DUE TO TIMING CHAIN AND CRANKSHAFT FAILURE. MY MECHANIC SUGGESTED CONTACTING GM AS IT WAS KNOWN FAILURE AND ISSUE. GM WAS UNRESPONSIVE TO PROVIDING ANY ASSISTANCE.
THE STEERING RACK ON THIS VEHICLE WENT MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO STEER. THIS HAS BEEN THE CASE IN MANY OF THESE VEHICLES OF THIS YEAR. PRIOR YEARS OF THIS MAKE AND MODEL HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR THE SAME ISSUE BUT AS OF YET THE 2010 HAS NOT. THEY REPLACED MY STEERING PUMP AND TOLD ME THE RACK WAS GONE AND WOULD BE 1700 TO REPLACE. THE CAR CANNOT BE DRIVEN AS IT IS UNSAFE. THE TIMING CHAIN IS ALSO GONE WHICH IS ANOTHER ISSUE WITH THIS MAKE AND MODEL THAT CHEVROLET IS NOT DEALING WITH. ALTHOUGH THIS DOES NOT RENDER THE VEHICLE UNSAFE IT IS OVERALL A VERY BADLY DESIGNED VEHICLE. MY MAJOR ISSUE IS THE SAFETY AND READ MANY MANY COMPLAINTS ON THIS MAKE AND MODEL. I CAN NO LONGER USE THE VEHICLE AS IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND A SERIOUS FINANCIAL HARDSHIP. I BOUGHT THIS CAR IN...
MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT APPEARED THIS EVENING IN MY 2010 TRAVERSE AS WELL AS SERVICE STABILITRACK AND TRACTION CONTROL. AS I ACCELERATED MY FUEL LEVEL INDICATOR WENT DOWN AND WHEN I HIT THE BRAKES IT WOULD SHOOT UP TO FULL. I AM ONE OF MANY TO DEAL WITH THE ISSUE WITH SPECIFICALLY A CHEVY TRAVERSE.

MY AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WON'T SHIFT TO HIGHER GEARS WHEN I ACCELERATE. I HAVE TO PULL OVER, COME TO A COMPLETE STOP, SHIFT THE CAR INTO PARK AND THEN BACK TO DRIVE. THAT SOMEHOW "RESETS" THE TRANSMISSION AND THE ENGINE BEHAVES NORMALLY AFTER THAT. THIS HAPPENS ALMOST DAILY. FRUSTRATING THING IS THAT MECHANICS HAVE ONLY BEEN ABLE TO MAKE IT HAPPEN ONCE. THEY SAY THEY ARE UNABLE TO ID WHAT'S WRONG. I DON'T UNDERSTAND THAT AT ALL. I'M TELLING THEM EXACTLY WHAT'S HAPPENING AND THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE TO START. AND THE CAR'S COMPUTER DOESN'T KICK OUT AN ERROR MESSAGE. THIS HAPPENS ON ALL KINDS OF ROADS. MY CAR WON'T SHIFT OUT OF 1ST GEAR. THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND I TOOK IT TO A SHOP, WHERE THEY TOLD ME THE CODES INDICATE THAT YOUR TIMING CHAIN IS STRETCHED. THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE BUT DOES NOT COVER THE 2010 MODEL. I WAS TOLD THAT THE ISSUE HAD BEEN CORRECTED WITH BETTER PARTS, BUT IS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE THE 2007,2008, AND 2009 MODEL YEARS.
AT 68,000 MILES, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, I TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL CHEVY DEALER WHO SAID IT WAS A TIMING CHAIN PROBLEM. THEY SAID THAT IT WOULD COST ABOUT $3200 TO FIX. DOING SOME RESEARCH (OBD2 CODES P0008 AND P0009) THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS PARTICULAR ENGINE, SPANNING MANY MODELS AND MODEL YEARS.
MY 2010 CHEVY TRAVERSE WAS BUILT IN SPRING HILL TENNESSEE FACILITY IN 2009. I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE AT THE END OF FEBRUARY 2010. MY VEHICLE WAS MAINTAINED PER MANUFACTURER INSTRUCTIONS, OIL WAS ALWAYS CHANGED, USUALLY AROUND WHIT 40% OF OIL REMAINING AND ALWAYS BEFORE THE OIL LIFE WAS EXHAUSTED. AT ~91000 MILES CAR DISPLAYED INTERMITTENT CHECK ENGINE SIGN WHICH BECOME PERMANENT AROUND ~94,000 MILES. I TOOK THE CAR TO MECHANIC WHICH SHOWED MULTIPLE ERRORS, AFTER FIXING CAMSHAFT SENSOR THE CHECK ENGINE SIGN REMAINED AND MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT I HAVE DRIVE CHAIN ERROR. THE ENGINE STARTED LOSING POWER, FAILED TO ACCELERATE. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO DEALER I BOUGHT FROM, WAS TOLD CAR HAD MULTIPLE ISSUES INCLUDING CATALYTIC CONVERTER AND STARTER, RUSTED LEAKING Y-TIES BUT MOST EXPENSIVE WAS TIMING CHAIN AT ABOVE $2300. BOTH I AND DEALER CONTACTED GENERAL MOTOR CUSTOMER CARE SERVICE. AFTER TAKING MY INITIAL CALL, GM ASSIGNED...
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AT ABOUT 78,000 MILES. DEALER INDICATED IT WAS THE DRIVE CHAIN NEEDED REPAIR ($2000-2500). MY VEHICLE HAS HAD EXCELLENT MAINTENANCE AND CARE, USUALLY BY THE DEALER. THIS SHOULD NOT BE AN ISSUE AT ONLY 78,000 MILES.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER (CHEVROLET CADILLAC OF GOLDSBORO) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TIMING CHAIN FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OPENED CASE NUMBER: 8/3034264137. THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED TO CALL NHTSA TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,000.

WHILE DRIVING TO WORK,I START HEARING DINGS. I LOOK AT THE DASH AND IT TELLS ME THAT MY TRACTION IS OFF, TO CHECK MY STABILITRACK, AND ALSO THE BRAKE WAS ON. THEN ALL OF THE LIGHTS TURNED BACK OFF EXCEPT THE TRACTION LIGHT. NOW IT FEELS AS THOUGH MY VEHICLE IS BEING PULLED BACKWARDS AS I TRY TO DRIVE. DEFINITELY A LOSS OF POWER.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 119,000.
AT 88,000 MILE I HAVE RECIEVED A P0008 CODE - TIMING CHAINS. THIS IS ODD TO HAVE STRETCHED TIMING CHAINS AT THIS MILEAGE. REVIEWING SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET, THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH 3.6 L ENGINES MADE BEFORE 2011. I CONTACT GM WITH NO AVAIL. BEING SUCH A COMMON COMPLAINT BY MANY WHY ISN'T GM STANDING BEHIND THIS PROBLEM?
2010 CHEVY TRAVERSE. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CODE P0017. DEALER IS STATING IT IS A TIMING CHAIN, COST AROUND $2700. TRAVERSE ONLY HAS 101,000 MILES ON IT. MY CHEVY TRAVERSE SHOULD NOT BE NEEDING A TIMING CHAIN REPLACED AT SUCH LOW MILEAGE. GM IS NOT BEING COOPERATIVE WITH ALL THE COMPLAINTS OF THIS PROBLEM ONLINE. THERE ARE SPECIFIC AREAS IN THE COUNTRY WHERE GM IS PAYING FOR THIS REPAIR BUT IT IS VIN SPECIFIC. GM IS STATING THAT IF MANUFACTURED IN CERTAIN PLANTS, TIMING CHAIN IS A PROBLEM, EVEN THOUGH IT IS THE SAME ENGINE! I HAVE HAD MORE RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE THAN ANY OTHER VEHICLE I HAVE OWNED. I ONCE LOVED THIS VEHICLE AND THOUGHT GM WOULD TAKE CARE OF KNOWN PROBLEMS, NOW I KNOW THAT I AM WRONG. I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER GM VEHICLE.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON IN MY 2010 CHEVY TRAVERSE. THE DEALERSHIP INDICATED THE TIMING CHAIN HAD STRETCHED AND IF LEFT UNREPAIRED COULD LEAD TO CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OF THE ENGINE. THE REPAIR COST IS $3500. THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 67000 MILES ON IT, AND HAS ALWAYS HAD ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AND OIL CHANGES CONDUCTED. FURTHER INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT 2007-2009 MODELS OF THE SAME ENGINE ON SIMILAR MODELS HAD THE EXACT SAME ISSUE. ADDITIONALLY, A SIMPLE GOOGLE SEARCH REVEALS MANY FORUMS THAT HAVE COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME ISSUE ON THEIR 2010 MODELS. IT APPEARS THAT THE PROBLEM WAS NOT CORRECTED IN THE 2010 MODEL YEAR, OR AT LEAST NOT IN CERTAIN RUN OF THE ENGINE. WHETHER THE SAME BAD CHAIN WAS USED IN 2010 ENGINES OR THE PROBLEM THAT WAS DISCOVERED IN THE 2007-2009 MODEL YEARS, WAS NOT DISCOVERED UNTIL AFTER THE 2010 MODELS WERE BUILT, AND THEY WERE JUST NOT INCLUDED...

I HAVE 2010 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. THIS CAR GOT A PROBLEM WITH ENGINE. TIMING CHAIN IS STRETCHED OUT AND ENGINE RUNS ROUGH WITH MULTIPLE MISFIRES AND NOISE. I TOOK THIS CAR TO DIAGNOSTIC AND DEALER DIAGNOSED AND CONFIRM EXISTING PROBLEM WITH TIMING CHAIN. AFTER SOME INVESTIGATION AND RESEARCH I FOUND OUT THAT GMC EXTENDED A WARRANTY TILL 10 YEARS/120000 MI FOR 2009 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. BUT THEY SAID THAT MY CAR DOES NOT QUALIFY FOR THIS RECALL BECAUSE IT'S BEEN MADE FROM DIFFERENT PARTS. THIS IS NOT FAIR AND NOT RIGHT. IT DOESN'T MATTER FROM WHAT PARTS WAS MADE ENGINE IN MY CAR. THE FACT IS THAT MY CAR HAS THE SAME PROBLEM AS 2009 CHEVY TRAVERSE WHAT QUALIFY FOR EXTENDED WARRANTY. TIMING CHAIN IS OUT OF SYNC. MECHANIC STATES THAT ERROR CODES ARE CAUSING THE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO ILLUMINATE THAT ARE BASED AROUND SKIPPING/SLIPPING TIMING CHAIN. STATES THAT TIMING CHAIN MUST BE REPAIRED. IF TIMING CHAIN FAILS TO WORK CORRECTLY, ENGINE COULD SEIZE CAUSE THE VEHICLE FAIL UNEXPECTEDLY.
ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DIVING AT CITY SPEEDS, TOOK IT TO STEWART CHEVROLET AND THE SAID IT WAS THE P0008 AND P0017 TIMING CHAIN AND CRANK CAMSHAFT. THIS IS THE 3RD TIME THAT THIS IS OCCURRING . 1ST WAS AT 60,929K AND SECOND WAS AT 81,781K THEY WANT BETWEEN $3,000 TO $9,000 TO REPAIR AND NO GUARANTEE THAT IT WON'T OCCUR AT NEXT 20K, GM ARE NOT STANDING BY THERE PRODUCT NOR IS STEWARD.

IT WAS FOR THE 2009, BUT A LOT OF THE 2010 HAD THE SAME CHAIN AND ISSUE AS THE 2009. OF COURSE THE DEALER IS NOT GONG TO AGREE TO ANYTHING. THEY ARE TELLING ME ITS 2800, JUST TO CHANGE THE BELT AS PRECAUTION. THIS IS PRICE GOUGING WHEN THEY KNOW IT'S AN ISSUE. I NEED HELP...
