WOULD STOP WORKING ALL TOGETHER IF IT WAS RAINING, THEN WOULD START TO WORK, WHEN IT HAD DRIED UP. I RECEIVED A NOTICE ON A SAFETY RECALL FOR MY VEHICLE, BUT WHEN I CALLED INTO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY SAID THAT IT WAS NOT COVERED SINCE I HAD NOT REGISTERED IN A LIST OF THE NORTHERN STATES. I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT THIS VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED AND DRIVEN FOR AT LEAST THREE YEARS IN ONE OF THE NORTHERN STATES. WHY WOULD IT MATTER IF I HAD REGISTERED IT HERE OR THERE. THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW CONTROL PANEL WOULD NOT WORK FOR ANY OF THE WINDOWS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT RUNNING. I CHECKED THE FUSE AND FOUND IT TO BE BLOWN. I REPLACED IT WITH THE EXACT SAME SIZE AND TYPE OF FUSE. THEN I TRIED TO ROLL UP THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW. THE DOOR WINDOW CONTROL PANEL SWITCH THEN BEGAN TO SMOKE AND THERE WAS THE SMELL OF BURNING ELECTRONICS AND PLASTIC. I NOTICED AN ARTICLE ON FOX NEWS ABOUT AN INVESTIGATION REGARDING DOOR FIRES. I WOULD LIKE TO REPORT THAT ISSUE HAPPENING TO ME ABOUT A YEAR AGO. THE PROBLEM STARTED INTERMITTENTLY WHERE THE WINDOW/DOOR SWITCHES WOULD NOT WORK. AFTER DEALING WITH THAT PROBLEM FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS I GOT IN MY TRUCK ONE MORNING AND COULD TELL IT SMELLED LIKE AN ELECTRICAL FIRE. THE SERVICE TECH NOTED ON INVOICE SHEET THAT HE FOUND THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS INDICATING A P0171 DIAGNOSTIC ISSUE WHICH HE TRACED TO THE "FAILED/SHORTED" DRIVER DOOR MODULE. THE ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED, THE FUEL SENSOR WAS NOT WORKING, THE HEAT WAS INOPERATIVE, THERE WERE NOISE/CREAKS COMING FROM THE STEERING WHEEL WHEN DRIVING SLOW AND MAKING TURNS, THE POWER WINDOWS AND HEATED SEATS STOPPED WORKING, THE FUEL GAUGE WAS INACCURATE, THE 4-WHEEL DRIVE SWITCH HAD TO REPLACED, THE SEAT BELT WAS DIFFICULT TO FASTEN, THE HEAD LIGHTS AND TAIL LIGHTS SOCKETS BURNED OUT, THE FAN FOR THE HEATER AND DEFROSTER STOPPED WORKING, THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT DOWN SHIFT PROPERLY AND EVENTUALLY HAD TO BE REPLACED, THE IGNITION SWITCH DIDN'T ALWAYS WORK AND THE KEY WOULD SOMETIMES GET STUCK. *JB
